  • Mr. Anderson on Ecclesiasticus 2 - 6 years ago
A person claims the book of Ecclesiasticus does not line up with remainder of bible because " This book claims that giving alms justifies a man. We know that only JESUS CHRIST justifies!" Now the Words of God will not be fully understood if its not read in the Spirit of God. The justification in the giving of alms lies in the heart of man. Mark 12: 43,44. Proverbs 3: 5,9. Proverbs 14: 30.

"He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him." Jesus came into this world to save us, the children of God, from our sins and give us eternal life. We are all made in the image of God and commanded to love and honor one another in reverence of God's image and likeness. All who are of the truth will keep integrity to love God and his neighbor.

Verse 29: This verse shows that the person who is slow to anger is looked upon with favor by God.

"Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." If we can look so hard on our unsaved family members, neighbors and coworkers and demand that they are accountable to the Law of God, and His Judgments upon disobedience how do so many then not recognize the beam in their own eye, or the hypocrisy of calling themselves saved Christians, while they are clearly still bound in their sins? "And if we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves be found sinful men, whether Christ be minister of sin? God forbid." Galatians 2:17 Wycliffe Bible The LORD God our Saviour says, "Sin no more, that not a worse thing come upon you " yet some still strongly protest, saying, "We all sin every day we can't help but sin " and then misuse the Scriptures to cover their defeated lives. If one breaks a hedge, the serpent will bite! But that doesn't negate the truth of the Glad Tidings, that Christ sets us REALLY free only that that one has fallen into sin! But we have an Almighty and wonderfully merciful Saviour, who is able to save to the uttermost ALL who call upon Him. So if you're having a problem bring it to the Lord in repentance, and BE CONVERTED! that your sins may be blotted out and you shall receive forgiveness and all the fullness of His great and glorious Salvation Victory.

Our sins are already forgiven and was cleansed by the blood of Jesus we are pardoned as Jesus paid the price on the cross by his blood. Lets praise and worship Jesus for he is worthy. To conquer and depart from evil is to do good and accept Jesus as the Son of the living God aken

To: Matthew Chapter 19 - Comment by "Bookreadingismything" on 2/14/2017; Proverbs 14:10 "The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy." Our pains and hurts by others matter to the Lord; He knows our sorrows, for they are His sorrows. Forgiving and releasing someone so close, of such a hurt, is a sacrifice of righteousness, and as incense going up to God.

Irene123 and Bud another helpful scripture maybe Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
  • Anne on Judges 21 - 7 years ago
According to Proverbs 14:12 there is a way which seems right to a man but its end is the way of death(destruction). We must continue to seek God's face in all of our decisions.

"The backslider in heart..." for all have sinned...you won't "QUIT" sinning til the day you die! So in this sense, we all backslid to a certain extend! But we shouldn't stay here in a backslidden condition too long... we should just confess our sins and get right with the Lord.
  • Mr. Smith on Proverbs 14 - 7 years ago
vs 14: "Backslider", better rendered, "hypocrite, deceiver, pretender", may say the right things to appear to be something he isn't, is ruled by the senses, therefore will reap what is truly inside produced by his own wicked imagination. The "good man", ie. the person ruled by the Holy Spirit, will bring forth the good things which his own imagination produces. Matt.12:35

We are living in the Church age so we are saved by Paul's Gospel 1Corinthians 15: 1-4 The old testament saints were not saved the same way we are because JESUS had not died yet. When they died they went to Abrahams bosom because they could not go to heaven yet because the blood of bulls and goats could not pay for their sin. It was not until JESUS died on the cross that all our sin was paid

To Brianna - I really liked that - don't believe everything one hears about God and His Word, but search it out - Jn. 5:39; Acts 17:11. Something else interesting here: Jesus wasn't talking about the N.T. scriptures because they weren't written then; He referred to the O.T. Jesus and salvation are all thru the Old; that's what the old was all about.

The practical wisdom found in the Bible truly surpasses human thinking. This verse can be applied to so many aspects of our lives. There are so many religions and teachings, and sometimes people never research. However, this verse tells us not to believe everything we hear. Rather, THINK and research to make sure it is true.

The Lord's supper,Is A picture of Christ on the cross, suffering for our sin. There are some worthy enough to unworthily partake of the supper, eating and drinking damnation to himself. We are to be a light in the world. When we sin:go to the Lord instantly. When you come to the supper table, wash up, show respect for the blood of Christ.

This verse is based on Christians decision making, there are decisions a man does he she may think it is good but at the end he she will find hm self in danger.
  • Mike D on Psalms 119 - 9 years ago
The only way for a person to be undefiled in the way is to know the way. The only way to know the way is to read the book of the way, the Law of God. To try and live outside God 's Word, no matter how moral you may seem, is to wander into the defiled way, a way that seemeth right unto a man, which ends up in death, Proverbs 14:12, 16:25

When someone has the fear of God in him her,you will have access to the secret place of the most high God. But sin is deny you of going to His presence. Just like when you offend your fellow you will be shame of request something from him her your sin will hinder you and even been obstacle.

A sound heart - a heart with peace, keeps the body healthy. The body 's health, depends on the condition of yo heart. people are sick coz. hearts are sick. How can u be at peace. u can only be at peace in yo heart when you are at peace with God. Knowing u are forgiven , making His word yo absolute. then u won 't be troubled by anything.

Another example of the Bible being practical for our day. Now this scripture may sound like common sense, but if it was we would have a lot less problems. This pretty much encourages us to plan ahead, consider our steps, examine our path. Young people and even older people seem to have to go through ALL the bumps in,life before they find a comfort spot, mostly due to poor planning.
  • Valerie Norberry VanOrden on Proverbs 14:10 - 10 years ago
This, to me, means, that when God finally grinds thoroughly and completely in his gristmill, the wicked who have wronged you, you feel peace, joy, and relief. We don 't always see the retribution of God on the wicked who have wronged us, but there is a proverb that says "Don 't laugh when your enemy falls, or God will stay His hand from him ". I believe scripture interprets scrip. and this completes the thought.
  • Jack Woodard on Proverbs 14:12 - 10 years ago
Only through Jesus can you have eternal life. There are many who reject Jesus as the way, believing in their own human wisdom that their way is also a valid way to please God and possess eternal life Cain 's Religion , but all of these many broad roads will lead to hell the 2nd death
  • Zar on Proverbs 14:4 - 10 years ago
I think the spiritual meaning of this is the need of people in spreading the word. As Jesus said plenty to harvest and he needs help.
  • Pastor Emmanuel John on Proverbs 14:34 - 10 years ago
Righteousness denotes godly judgment followed by godly actions or reactions in all matters. It is not just doing things right, but doing the right things in the fear of God, that is, guided by the word of God. Sin is a reproach or degrading any people. It shifts from "nation " to people, as nation implies an entire country and people covers individuals, groups, and associations.
