Deborah, no translation from one language to another is perfect. It matters not whether it is alway are always, we know from other scriptures through God's Word that thanksgiving and praise to God should be unending, in the fire or out of the fire.
Isaiah 24:15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires ......
Romans 8:28 For we know that all things (even evil) work together for GOOD to them that love God, to them WHO ARE THE CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE.
I want to know the difference between the word "alway" and "always". Bible dictionaries state that "alway" is no longer used so it essentially means the same as "always". But I know there must have been a good reason for the KJV translators to originally use the word "alway" instead of "always" in the first place. I believe there are 23 instances in the Bible where "alway" is used. In Phil 4:4 does alway mean to rejoice at the beginning and at the end of a trial - during the course of this trial you won't rejoice because of the pain or suffering but because grace sustains you, you will rejoice at the completion of the trial. You rejoice during the trial because grace is sustaining you but you don't rejoice because your are sick, injured, etc. Am I right?
To always rejoice means you rejoice at every thing that is happening all the time. ??
Thank you...I'm teaching a class and the use of this word will need to be addressed.

Comment: in this world we are aliens. Our true home is in heaven. We can't "fix" this world. God has plans for the ultimate "RESET". 2 Peter 3
We must be careful in how we regard our service to the Lord. As we learn to walk and trust in the Lord God through His word, remember that all good things originate from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before we start to expect things are due us because of what we do, or what position we hold: God always knows best. Like the old time tv series "Father knows Best." I just dated myself - LOL
Baruch felt he was due better things instead of being dragged around the country side with the remnant that remained in Jerusalem. After all he was the personal scribe to the prophet. He knew the prophecies given to be true and will come to pass. He just thought he should be treated better.
We as believers of Christ the Lord are not entitled to anything. Galatians 2: 20; Colossians 3: 1-3 We have the privilege to seek the wisdom of the Lord God and worship at His feet. We know what the Lord is fully capable of doing and giving. 2 Cor 10: 5 By filtering our thoughts in the Word of God, I can rejoice in Him, be at peace, and have comfort even though we are going through this current Pandemic, Ukraine - Russian war, supply hick ups; soaring gas/oil prices. Philippians 4: 6-10
No matter what happens we can be assured of our salvation in Christ Jesus if we believe and trust in the Gospel. Luke 10: 20; 1 John 5: 11-15. We have confidence in the Lord.
The only solution before us is the salvation of the leaders of world. 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 "...that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." We must continue to carry out God's will for us. Matthew 28: 18-20.
May the peace of God shine on all on this forum. Know the Lord Jesus Christ, know Peace. No Lord Jesus Christ, no peace. Praying for all as we have the occasion to do so.
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Faith is not presumption that your will and God's will are the same. Jesus taught us to pray:
Matthew 6:10
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Faith is submission to God's will as Christ submitted His will to the Father's will ( Matthew 26:36-46)
39 And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Please Lord God allow the process for Shirlyn to go smoothly that she can be with her family. Please allow Your healing hand her family member with cancer and her son find peace in You with his separation I pray in Jesus Christ name.
May I suggest you reflect on John 16:33 and Philippians 4:12-13.
Hi Steven, It is a simple process. Surrender your heart (life) to the Lord and ask Him to please enter your heart (through the Holy Spirit) and live and guide you to live the life that He created you to live. Give up your old way of life (things that He convicts your heart of that are not good for you)(say bad music and He will give you good music to listen to, Philippians 4:8 is the best guideline for new believers) and seek His will for your life by reading your Bible daily, praying and singing songs of praise and let Him lead you to a great group of believers that you can fellowship with on a regular basis. Just ask Him to help you do what is right every day and you will be following the path He has for you! Father, I ask you to especially be with Steven as He has chosen to follow you, I know it might not be easy for him, but I do know that you love Steven sooo much that you sent Jesus to take away his sin and have paid the price so that Steven can be free to live and make a wonderful difference in the world today! Amen Steven may the blessings of the Father and Jesus be upon you today. Welcome to the family, brother!
Hi Ruth, my understanding is that anything that you spend most of your time and money on can be an idol. Let's face it praying to wood or stone will not answer your prayers. Neither will hours spent on FB and other media whether it is TV, your phone or Pinterest. The Father and Jesus want a personal relationship with you. Pray to them and talk to them through out your day. Go to Him first about all your worldly issues with your whole heart and you will see great things happen in your life. I am not saying the other things are bad, but if they are all you think about and do, they may have become an idol in your life. Remember Philippians 4:8 and not to put any wicked things before our eyes. As you spend time in your Bible, you will see exactly how He wants to be worshipped...in Spirit and in Truth. Hugs, Cissi
Hi Pierotte. I believe we should give much attention & concern to the present Russian-Ukraine situation which could escalate to heights that will not only affect neighbouring countries, but can even be more far-reaching. Just as we would show concern for countries experiencing famine, civil war, & other atrocities, it is our duty to be informed, give whatever support we can, & most of all be in much prayer to the Lord Who has the final word & action.
If you're thinking of this aggressive act by Russia extending southwards, with the Middle East not being far away, then this can always be a possibility as other countries might take courage in pursuing acts of aggression in league with the dominant ones. We pray that Russia will come to its senses & withdraw, even as we know Putin to be of a particular bent who may get more stirred up because of any adverse responses to him. But as in all matters, personal & worldly, our hope & trust are cast upon the Lord Who superintends all things, that His Perfect Will may be realized. I think that to be unconcerned & blas about matters that might not directly affect us for the time-being, is not demonstrating a compassionate, concerned spirit to the suffering of others & the advancement of wickedness. Philippians 2:4; Philippians 4:6,7.
Jernej, we are not robots. God gave us free will to do His will or to do evil. You can choose between porn and God's commandments. It is hard, but all things are possible with God. Ask Him to forgive you and mean it by repenting, that is, never doing it again. Immerse yourself in Him by praying, reading His Word, singing, going to church, seeking fellowship with other Christians. When the devil gives you the urge to go back to porn, rebuke him and he will flee. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Here are other verses that will help you.
--Corinthians 10:5 Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Philippians 4:8: Whatever is... true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.
-- Romans 8:38,39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-- Ps. 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
-- Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
-- 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
-- Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
-- Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
-- Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Let this be your aim:
-- Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Thought I'd share a perspective about prayer requests. I recently saw a comment about someone asking for prayer for her pet. And I think someone may have responded inappropriately. I don't recall where I saw it or who they were so I thought I'd just offer my input in general about prayer requests in the off chance that they see it.
Philippians 4:6 says to ask God for things. I don't think anything is too big, or too small to ask.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 - pray without ceasing
Ephesians 6:18 - pray always
With these verses in mind I think we are welcome to ask God for all things, but I do think they should follow God's moral law. And some things I will ask God for, but may not feel comfortable asking others to pray for.
For example, I don't want to ask God to help me commit a sin, and I wouldn't feel right asking God to help me hurt someone else, etc. Some things may seem small, but may not be to someone else. Pets to some are their family members they love. And I think they are gifts from God to allow us to have that unconditional loving attachment and feeling of joy. So, I understand how people want to pray for them.
I also respect that others may feel differently. Some have been terrorized and attacked by dogs for example and that could be hard for that person to genuinely pray for someone else's dog, for example, so I think that person simply should pray for other things instead. I personally don't feel right praying for material things or anything that can easily become an idol and puts an emphasis on treasure on earth, rather than treasure in heaven.
I feel more comfortable praying for a strengthened relationship with someone's family or to learn how to trust God more. Etc. So, I think in some circumstances if I cannot genuinely pray for a certain thing then I simply pray for those I can and maybe someone else is willing to pray for someone's specific challenge.
Also, some want their exes back, but I instead pray for God's will. God bless.
Coping When You Feel Frustrated - In Reply - 3 years ago
You are highly blessed. I too have infirmities that are yet to be healed. I prayed hard and like Paul, we wait upon the Lord. Meantime we work as we can and share what we have. One day we will be made perfect. Just rest in His love. Trade begging to praises. These scriptures are how I cope.
2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
John 1:16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
** Philippians 4:11
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever "state" I am, therewith to be content.
you just talk to God. You thank him for the blessings he has given you, you ask for forgiveness for your sins, you pray for your loved ones, you ask him of the thing you need/want :)
here is some Bible verses about prayer:
Philippians 4:6 - "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
psalms 34:17 - The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
...but be transformed by the renewing of your mind , that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
If you go on to read the remainder of the chapter, Paul gives us examples of what we ought to think and do that is according to God's will.
So, for me, I would endeavor to follow those instructions along with those in the remaining chapters of Romans.
In Galatians 5:16-26,Paul talks about what walking in the Spirit means. Philippians 4:8 tells us what things our mind should focus on.
But really, Valerie, no one can have the mind of Christ without being converted and having the Holy Spirit dwelling within the believer. So, believing the gospel, repenting of one's sinfulness, putting one's faith in Jesus and His work if salvation for us are necessary as a first thing.
When one is thus converted, God'd Spirit in dwells a new believer, as this Spirit really does the work of conversion and we respond to this work in faith supplied by grace through the Spirit.
After conversion, one will begin to grow in one's faith as the Spirit guides and causes growth and spiritual knowledge to come to a new believer. This growth happens continually throughout the believers life as one yields to the work of the Spirit within.
So, Valerie the more we yield to the Spirit, he will conform us to imitate Christ through the intake of His holy word enlivened in us by the Spirit.
Separating our affection from the things of the world happens but by bit, as we relinquish our love for worldly ideas, things, and practices and replace these with godliness that grace supplies.
Hope this helps.
You will probably get many good replies, as Rick already has done. Prayerfully seek
What the Lord would have. You do In response to the Scriptures offered here.
Prayers! I am so sorry for your loss! Seasons like this are very difficult, when emotions seem to rule. Our feelings will lie to us and make us feel forsaken, left alone. Do you believe God's Word is true? If so, His word says God CANNOT lie. "That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:" - Hebrews 6:18
1. He will not leave us or forsake us:
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. - Deuteronomy 31:6
2. He is with us to the end of the age:
".. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20
3. God's peace will guard our hearts and minds:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
*He comforts us in our grief and sorrow*
Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."
I pray that God's Spirit of peace and comfort surround you, encourage you that you are not alone and put people in your path to help you through this tough trial you are going through. Our ladies group will hold you up in prayer. God bless and keep you in Jesus' name!
I don't have a good answer for your question, but can talk generally about living as a Christian.
As Christians we aren't promised a problem-free life. The Bible says will actually be harder for us due to persecution, etc.
Some Christians assume Romans 8:28 means they deserve or are entitled to a privileged life. Some like Osteen preach this on TV which is a false teaching in my opinion. Some people are told if they're not living in sin they will get free goodies/rewards from God, like money, possessions, health, good relationships, etc. It's really a self centered immature and distorted perspective. God isn't a genie in a lamp here to serve us. If anything its the opposite- we exist at the pleasure of God and to serve Him.
Paul was shipwrecked, beaten, chased, in prison, you name it, but was one the most prominent Christian evangelists. He was persecuted and had a rough life, not a prosperity-gospel type life full of 'abundance' in this world. But Paul said he found the secret of contentment. Have you read that before? Here's a guy you would assume would be very depressed and discouraged, but he wasn't. He cracked the code. We don't need to fill ourselves with outside things to make us feel whole, but can be content as we are. God is the strength in our weakness and can make up the difference. So, in terms of managing frustration, maybe reading more about Paul may help: Philippians 4:10-13.
As far as relationships, some I know seemed to find partners when young like a God-arranged divine event. But others I know have been single their whole lives. Each pray and are serious about their walk with God.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Philippians 4:6
Humans were given Dominion in Genesis by God.
Only Bible readers would know that. Jesus defeated Satan by being crucified and then Resurrected. Christians have the same AUTHORITY to defeat Satan's strategies against us. It's done in prayer on our knees.
Most people just want to come home and watch tv or play online games.
Bad things happen to good people/Christians because we don't want to do the hard stuff that produces salvations, healings, deliverance from Satan's attacks. We don't need to be blaming God for our inability to follow the example of Jesus.
What would happen if we walked out on the back porch and yelled out loud: in Jesus Name, by His power and Authority, I take Dominion over every demonic strategy to hurt me and my family and loved ones. I bind your evil plans and cast you OUT OF THIS HOUSE
OUT OF MY FAMILY
OUT OF MY WORK PLACE
OUT OF MY CITY
OUT OF MY GOVERNMENT
GO NOW INTO OUTER DARKNESS TO WANDER ENDLESSLY
IN THE NAME OF JESUS. AMEN
I ask the Lord, to release warring angels to enforce and protect this prayer; minister to and guard those this prayer covers. Cover me and favor my family, Lord Jesus,
I give you thanksgiving, my praise to you, worship and honor. Impart to me discernment so I may stand in the watchtower and be vigilant against Satan's attacks. I rebuke the Spirit of Slumber! Holy Spirit teach me how I should pray for all my concerns. I receive it, in the Name of Jesus. AMEN! HALLELUJAH
This verse in Philippians is is yellow highlighted in my Bible because it is for me a "life" verse, one that I review often and hide in my heart to remember the excellencies of Christ's character that this verse describes and how I am to guard my thinking to keep it on the right track and focused on Christ, especially when tempted to sin in my thoughts.

May God bless you!
God bless.
Please keep reading the WORD.

his Son jesus Christ then to get into this of what we're discussing. Being aware of our adversary is one thing, I
deal with this on a need to know basis. But I'm willing to share some things profitable to all concerned. We walk
on and in what we think about so I endeavor to think most about what we have in Christ or Philippians 4:8+9.
10:9+10 and believe in our hearts what we confess then we receive Holy spirit which Galatians 3:22 describes as the
faith of Jesus Christ which is the bridge that spanned the gap between natural man and God. This his gift that being
said we do the work of action on Gods word in our lifestyles as Jesse shared a bit to produce the affects of the gift
on our personal lives. Fruit of he spirit Galatians 5:22 these are products that start appearing in our lives as a result
of changing out lifestyles to spiritual thinking Gods revealed word. some of those thoughts Philippians 4:6-9, Eph. 5:1
+2, Eph.4:21-32 their are many of these then you have lots of examples in the gospels. Good Stuff.
That is a good question.
These text you reference gives an answer:
...but be transformed by the renewing of your mind , that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which Strengtheneth me..
Love you in Christ
God bless...
favorite Philippians 4:8+9 mind you help me perfected ha ha not in this lifetime its still a day by day mental battle old man verses new creation. We all deal with the same dude. We keep putting off the old and putting in the new!
Hopefully these are helpful
AMEN! HALLELUJAH
look within. Do you want to be discouraged watch the world or look at others. If you want to maintain
Spiritual Peace you must look at God and His Word. We need to turn our eyes upon Jesus and look full in
His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
Philippians 4:8 Just Sharing Some Heart!
I've prayed for you, And hopefully someone can give you great spiritual guidance and comfort in addition to what I'm about to share.
There's scriptures comes to mind such as
Romans 8:28.
Philippians 4:6-7.
We never give up on he who never sleep nor slumber!
Continue in prayer. Listen to Paul here in
2 Corinthians 12:9.
Hopefully others can help.
May God bless you and your family.
Thanks for bringing it up on this forum. Made my night.
