How is verse 4 supposed to be interpreted? I've heard it interpreted before as be happy always and look to the Lord. But no one can be happy all the time. Can they? I am going through a couple of issues in my life currently that makes happiness seem like a luxury.
V-8: The things we should strive to accomplish are: True: Honest: Just: Pure: lovely: Good Report: Those of: Virture: Praise: These are the things we are to THINK ON! If we could just focus on these, what a Profitable, Spiritual Life WE would be Living? May God help us to ADHERE TO HIS HOLY SCRIPTURES? We know what God Requires of US: Yet we Refuse to OBEY HIS COMMANDS? When will WE BE OBEDIENT?
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
they just wanted to share the Good news that all sins can be removed with Jesus dying on the cross through repentance, to put the past in the past and live by the word which teaches you how much our Father loves us, and leads you from sinning once you have been cleansed, help a fellow brother as Christ did, of a beggar down the street feed him God loves him too
Do you think if we all had everything we wanted, we would praise God for it or would he be left out of the equation? Do you think because we always want we turn to God in prayer seeking , or do you think we should be grateful for all things? Paul spoke of being humble praise God for all things give him the glory from your heart, they all walked with nothing, never wanting, even in prison
Abriel: Yes. Our God Shall Supply All Your Needs according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus( Philippians 4:19) The Lost People Need Our Help. First,Take Care of Their Need. Maybe their Hungry, need Better Clothing. Then We can Tell them How to be Saved. Always have 1 or more with You when You Help Others. Never by Your Self. We don't have to Really Beg, Just let Him Know Your Need.
Teresa: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ( John 14:6) In Matthew 19, the young rich man wasn't willing to give up everything to follow Jesus. Read Matthew 10:38, Romans 6:1-23, Romans 12:1, 1 Peter 4:1-11, 1 John 2:1-29, Matthew 5 (all of it) and if you doubt that mortals can live as Christ did, Philippians 4:13.
A List of All The Tribulation that came Upon Paul in 2Corinthians 11 Starting at Verse 22. True Believers will have Tribulation. / There are "Many" Pew warmers. In that Day They will Say: Lord Lord look at All The Wonderful Things we done.--- The Lord Will Say: Depart Ye Workers of Iniquity( Matthew 7:22-23). The Last Trumpet Will Soon Sound. Then The Wrath of God is Poured out: ( Revelation 16:1)
Paul was in prison. . . Gentile christians stop at this point. We sit in warm houses, soft chairs, complaint over some measure of discomfort. Paul sat in prison. What do we think a Roman prison is? People in great loss, who know God cares 4 them are untouchable. They tell me they have everything they need...and smile in my face. Street ministry is a strange place...
Mary has chosen the good part. Being trouble and careful about many things is not the good part. Philippines 4:6-8 be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all underdtanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:8.
1 Corinthians 7:27-28, "Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned." 1 Corinthians 7:15, "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases." What could be more of a bondage than telling someone they can't get married when they have passions like Elijah and us ( James 5:17)? Sounds like the economy of God is different than mans. It is about giving, literally redistributing to the work God is doing. God knows best, and his angels celebrate when fruit is evident, in the church and individually. Praise God for all he and Jesus provide, for us to multiply his goodwill. Amen.
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO HAVE STRENGTHEN ME. AMEN HALLELUJAH I BELIEVE YOU LORD JESUS FOR YOU ARE FAITHFUL TO YOUR WORDS I LOVE YOU JESUS FOR YOU ARE MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION MY JEHOVA JIREH THE LORD MY PROVIDER SHALOM
A Christian who understands that Christ lives in him from the very first day he became born again, should not be limited by anything. Because the spiritual controls the physical world and he sits with Christ in the heavenly places far above all principalities, powers, constraints etc and nothing shall by any means be impossible for him that believe this...
Jim Nickles, Paul dictated the epistle as given to him by the Holy Spirit. He was in prison suffering from what some believe to have been opthalmalgia. This would have made writing (and most anything) difficult.
After reading chapter 1 of Philippians the bible questions section to the right asks , Who wrote the book of Philippians? Correct answer Paul and Timothy. At he end of chapt.4 it is inserted by this site that Epaphroditus wrote it.Is this in error or am I mistaken?
It's your street of mind that determines your status and relationship with tha HOLY SPIRIT... Light and darkness can't dwell in the same vessel at the same time. Let us be mindful of this.... If thine eye be dark... How great is that darkness.... All this scripture discribes a state of mind. Therefore, we must continually guard our minds by keeping it flooded with GODS WORD, SONGS OF Praise, etc.
J. Lazzari; I think your question is, Are the things spoken of in this chapter a summation of the whole message of the Bible? Well, If God hadn't intended us to HAVE all knowledge except one small aspect of our walk in this life; then, perhaps Yes! But for knowing and understanding the LORD, and thereby ourselves as His children; (even in this ruined and humiliated state); we need ALL THE BIBLE!
Could this be the key verse in knowing how God can direct us as Jesus was directed by the Spirit of His Father? Because God is good He thinks on these things! Hence the mind of Christ!
4:13 reads, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." The word "which" refers to doing all things through Christ. This is where our strength resides in the doing of righteous acts through the authority of The Word of God and not in our own strength.
