How does a spiritual child of God live in a world that is 3-dimensional and controlled by the devil? We walk by faith not by sight! II Cor.5:7 "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature... " II Cor.5:17 . Therefore, we must actively "Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth. " Col.3:2 Let your desire to please your Heavenly Father control your life style. Let God 's Word re-train your mind, bringing your attitudes, values and beliefs back into harmony with God 's principles. And let God 's Word dictate what you allow your body to do. Rom.12:1-2 "...for they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the spirit...For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. " Rom.8:1, 5, 14 "Wherefore, gird up the loins of your mind be...obedient..., not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. " I Peter 1:13-14 "...for why will ye die? " Eze.18:3l

Instead of concentrating the thoughts in the material world if one tries to redirect the power of concentration inside then no doubt the light within can be experienced. I m sure the eye which christ has spoke is not the physical one....

I have learnt several lessons from Mathew 6. First is about giving, second prayer, third submission to God 's Will and full trust in God. Am glad and encouraged to continue trusting in God.

I was asking about fasting. Thank you. I am a daughter of God and have the Holy Spirit to guide me. He has called me daughter and I have heard him. Almost 35 years now. God sings over me. Praise God!

Part 2 of 2: What I have learned over the years it is this, it is not how long or how often you fast it is the sincerity in the fast and sacrifice that you offer up to Jesus Christ that is the key. Let me ask you this. Do you have the Holy Ghost? Have you followed Acts 2: 38? Even though there are people who fast without having followed Acts 2: 38 it helps you to have followed it in order to get the full benefit. In the end, you can fast, pray, live a clean life, sacrifice for others, but if you have not followed Acts 2: 38 before either you die during this grace age or the rapture takes place you are still lost.

Part 1 of 2: Hello Joni G.: There are four types of fasting. One is an assembly called fast. This is where the leader of the church calls for a fast. Joel 1: 14 is an example of this. There is a group fast. This is where a small gathering may come together and fast and pray for various things. Paul and Barnabas give an example Acts 14: 23. Then you have the fast that a wife and husband consent to for either the both of them or one or the other. In other words, you have to get permission to go on a fast from your spouse so that Satan does not tempt you, 1 Corinthians 7: 5. Then there is the private fast. This is where a lot of people fall short. They tell everybody they are fasting. They show a sad continence. They already have their reward. Jesus Christ gave instructions on how to fast, Matthew 6: 16 thru 18.

Fasting. Verse 16. Also Isaiah 58. Isaiah 58 talks about God wanting us to help our brothers. Loosen the bonds of oppression. Can anyone tell me why fasting isn 't talked about much or preached about? Even in Acts 13 the apostles fasted and prayed before they went on their mission. I have heard some get answers to prayers after fasting. I know God 's timing is not our own. Can we discuss this?

Hello Gurjit Singh: and Shemdoe, Stanley: The word of God does tell us, Matthew 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you . The kingdom of God is twofold, as I have explained this before, so when Jesus was talking here in Matthew he was referring to the future tense, meaning that one should be born of water and spirit. The way to do this is by following Acts 2: 38 to get into the kingdom of God. The righteousness of Jesus Christ comes by way of the Holy Ghost, Ephesians 5: 9 For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, 1 Timothy 3: 16.

God created us for his own purpose and we are not the one to decide on how to live, to act and behave. So seeking first the kingdom of God is drawing our selves closer to God James 4:8 and he will be closer to us,then we shall know his will and act accordingly. This is the basic issue in christian life.Other things we need will be granted to us as additions. Don 't seek for addition, seek for a basic thing.

Solomen, the higher rank people work hard for their dressing and arraying themselves as higher in the people. But their arrangement nowhere withstand ' the arrangement by God for even lillies, grass or birds or other small being. We should keep trust in that God is caring for us.
  • Gurjit Singh on Matthew 6:27 - 10 years ago
Everything is already fixed by God.If we think we can change his plannig it is our wrong thinking. We should do prayer only for his mercy on us.
  • Gurjit Singh on Matthew 6:23 - 10 years ago
Evil eye means the eye not able to see.If strength of soul of seeing soul 's eye is not awakend we can not see the divine light in the body and remains in darkness. The darkness of our sins and bad deeds supresses that forever divine light in our body.We have to remove the affects of our sins from our souls to make it able to see the divine light and obtain the mercy of God.
  • Gurjit Singh on Matthew 6:22 - 10 years ago
Christ has said 'the eye ' not 'the eyes '.He is not pointing towards two physical eyes. The eye means the strength of soul of seeing. With this strength of soul we become able to see the divine light in our body.So if we awake the strength of seeing of soul or the eye of soul we will enjoy the divine light in the body.
  • Gurjit Singh on Matthew 6:11 - 10 years ago
Saints always talk for our soul 's welfare.Daily bread for our soul is success in the movement towards God.So daily bread means strengthning our prayer will for getting mercy of God.
  • Gurjit Singh on Matthew 6:1 - 10 years ago
Charity or helping other should be done in secret ,than it is accepted in the house of God.Otherwise you have got your reward by getting praises of the person being helped.

Hello Happiness I do not find it difficult at all this prayer. I think that the Lord 's prayer for us is the most wonderful and simple prayer that covers a multitude of things we need. What is difficult about asking for our debts to be forgiven as we forgive our debtors? What is difficult about asking for the Lord to let his will be done? What is difficult about asking for our daily bread? What is difficult about asking God to not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil? When a person knows or does not know what to pray for this is the prayer they should pray.

I recently understand the true meaning of the prayer " Our father " and now that I understand its phrases, I honestly believe that its the most difficult prayer... I know through God we can pray with understanding.. if you think you don 't know God , don 't worry because He knows You....He has been there for you before you were even born..God loves all equally " Do the best you can, until you now better, when you know do better " perfection comes from God

If everyone could just read the Holy Word of GOD and live what they read, it would truly be a different world, but that 's not the case, man has got to learn the hard way, choosing the wealth of this world and losing there soul, this is not what GOD wants, He wants all to come to repentance, in His Son. I pray for the hope of this world and for Jerusalem.

  • Stanley on Matthew 6 - 10 years ago
This chapter is about having Faith and Trust in the Lord instead of trying to do things with the arm of the flesh. Why did the hypocrites want to pray in public so every one could hear them? or sound a trumpet when giving donations so everyone could see them? or disfigure their faces when fasting so people can see them? It 's so they can glorify themselves and people will be able to see how righteous and good they are. They 're trusting in themselves and they 're own righteousness. Whereas if they do these things in private they 're trusting in the Lord for the reward and blessing.

Seek to do His will first, seek to know His Son who is also His righteousness, read and meditate on the word, and whatever else it takes through the power of God the Holy Spirit because we cannot do this on our own and as we do, He will furnish us with whatever and all we would otherwise have been focused our attention on getting or accomplishing.

O ye of little faith Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD,and everything else shall be added unto you. It 's that simple.
