There is always a choice to make. The love of money is the root of all evil . Money is not evil. We need it to sustain needs . What you love is what you are going to put first. As for me and my house , we will serve the Lord. I have found that in the process of time that when I allow God to have the preiminence over all else that every thing else will come into place. I have even what I want , that extra , when I allow my Lord to dictate my going out and coming in.

  • Tobias Phiri on Matthew 6 - 9 years ago
As it is written we don t have to worry of anything because our God is faithful God who knows everything we need and He always ready to provide to us. What we need to is what is on this verse: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

If our heart is on doing the things of God and then we are storing our treasures up in heaven. If we really love people and like helping people without grumbling and complaining about it then its in our heart to do it.We have to think about other people and do things out of love.On today don't allow Satan to hinder your blessings out of selfish ambition put your heart into it and you will reap the benefits remember God knows our heart and He reward those daily the ones who has a good one to do things of Him.

What happened to "love"??? Is this chapter no longer known as the Love Chapter? Has greed overthrown "Love" to instill one's mind with the thought that nothing is more important than to give, give, give, thus somewhere, someone in their greed, boast that the greatest of faith, hope and charity is charity? The Greek word "agape" is translated all other love except Chapter 13. When one replaces the word charity with love, the chapter makes more sense. When charity is used, it sounds as if the writer has their hand out to take, take, take. is a God of Love... NOT a God of Mammon and charity implies that those receiving charity places charity above all else, which will inevitably give them more wealth mammon . Be not swayed by the Master of Deception and know it is indeed Faith, Hope and Love, the greatest of which is Love. As we study verse 3, it is plainly revealed that profit is the goal, whereas charity profits those on the receiving end with more mammon. But Love profits with more love. God is Love. One cannot serve God and mammon Matthew 6:24 . Just as one stated that charity starts at home, Love also starts at home.

Why would Jesus say "the eye " not the eyes? I believe he was referring to the mind 's eye or our imagination. Our mind 's eye is how we see and believe the promises of God. That 's what is meant by "looking at the things that are not seen ". Jesus always referred to the spirit of man. He tells us "above all else protect the heart, from it flows the issues of life ". He 's not referring to the physical heart but our spirit. We see with our eyes, plural. We work with our hands, not hand. We walk with our feet not foot.

IT IS JUST AMAZING TO FIND GOD 'S LOVE TO US MEN UNRAVELLED IN THOSE SOOTHING AND REASURING WORDS OF JESUS. IT MEANS THAT AS LONG AS WE TRUST HIM WITH SIMPLE CHILDLIKE FAITH, OUR PROVISIONS FOR DAILY ARE GUARANTEED. HE SAID, 'TAKE NO THOUGHTS... ' NO NEED FOR WORRIES AND FRETATIONS. NOTE THAT WORRIES ARE NOT PART OF LIFE IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN WHICH GOD HAS BROUGHT DOWN TO US.

I am to lay up treasures in heaven. What is going to be in heaven ? Jesus : God : Holy Spirit : God 's word : Angels : Beautiful surroundings : Love : Joy : Peace : Etc : What I receive from my Lord God in this life and what I do for Him in this life and how I conduct my manner of life in this life is what I will receive in heaven : if I do that which us evil in God 's sight here I lose reward in heaven : So I must endeavor to do that which is right !!!!

Hi Jonathon. Thanks for raising this issue. I believe it 's of interest to many Christians including myself, some choosing to consider the thought of 'meditating ' to be too mystical and therefore perhaps not good pratice. I 'm not sure about that however as in Psalm 1:1-2 we find that 'Blessed is the man.. ' whose '..delight is in the law of the LORD and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ' However it may be that there is some confusion over the definition of what is meant here by meditation in terms of practice. In Psalm 19:14 it 's clear that meditation is something we do that eminates from our hearts that Our Lord is able to observe, rather than being a purely mind centred and personal activity as in other alternative definitions. Meditating with Our Lord 's prayer in my mind is how I would go about implementing all this. Best regards!
  • Jonathan on Matthew 6:23 - 9 years ago
We each have a 3rd eye. It is called the perennial gland. Prophets see through this when they have visions. Witchcraft persons focus on this when they do evil. What ever you meditate on, whether it is of righteousness, to split the seas like Moses or unrighteousness, to do evil as psychics and mediums and divination, your whole being will be filled with that meditation. Whether you meditate on the Word of God or in Black Arts. If your eye be evil, so is your whole body!
