Christ Jesus our Lord is what I believe in Luke. God is merciful and faith is the truth. John 17:17 Love is the word. The chapter 6 speaks of his disciples. Lord I want to be in that number. Lord I believe help my unbelief,

Verse 12~Jesus spent the whole night in prayer to Jehovah God before he made a major decision. We too should pour out our hearts in prayer to God in order to get his thinking on matters and to have his guidance.
  • Rev. Tony Smith on Luke 6 - 6 years ago
I believe that the Bible let us know that God is our only hope is in Jesus Christ, and we should not judge others because it's like we are judging God he is the one who created all of us in his image and his likeness. Please read Matt 7:1

Verse 45~We must fill our minds and hearts with good things if we want to do good and speak good things to others.
  • Michael on Luke 6 - 6 years ago
Jesus prayed the whole night but for us it is hard to pray! Longest time we can take is sometimes two minutes

Verse 26~Not everyone will speak well of us if we tell them the truth of the Bible. The false prophets told people what they wanted to hear so the people would praise them and love to listen to them.

my children do not forsake the bible nor the writters of it.It is and always will stand against any other translation.Do not contest the other translations for they who write any other have to answer to God.God is not the author of confusion. It is Holy. Now be Holy.Read it.It is God talking to you.Amen

"But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst..." Most of us are passive and try everything to avoid confrontation. This is praise worthy when we are assaulted without cause, as it gives us a chance to die to self and grow like Jesus. But the Lord Himself is often assertive and proactive to confront evil thoughts and hypocrisy.

"And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this,.." He that searches the hearts and the innermost thoughts and intents knows how He made us; and He debates with those who have His Word but don't understand it. God sent His Prophets, and Messengers to bring men His Word, with the expectation of understanding and obedience. How then does someone read or hear and not understand?
  • Servant of God on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
Jesus lays down the law, doing no miracles but telling the Truth (which is quite miraculous these days). This to me is the way, not just faith but the law implied in his sermon, which on it's face is obvious but the enactment being the rarest event since Moses and the nine plagues. Sinners will love sinners, but workers in the field will love those who despitefully use them. Jesus earned bliss

  • Breeze on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
The Lord used verse 26 to convince me to pray for someone who "despitefully use[d]" me. Praying for enemies is tough especially those you once considered friends but I hope to see the Lord turn that soul around.

Disciple if ya don't understand spritual things you are none of his, and to understand spritual things we must birth that spritual heavenly man which is the H.G. Thats y paul is saying as we have born the image of the earthly ( our old man ) we must also bear the image of the HEAVENLY which is our new man, thats the good man,our old man is the earthy man that cannot understand spritual things. We must continually work on cultivating a good heart. This will help us to perform good deeds and have good words to say to others.

its not what goes into a man that defiles a man but what comes out of him. for with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.by grace are ye saved through faith, a gift of God not of ourselves. love the Lord with all your heart.
  • A disciple on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good..." So, according to the Lord Jesus Christ, there are good men with good hearts! If when we come to the Lord in true repentance, and turn our lives around to follow Him and be good what man is it that says there's no such thing? or that all of us have desperately wicked and deceitful hearts? Speak for yourself! If the shoe fits, wear it! But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, with a true heart in faith and love without hypocrisy. Either be good and your fruit good or be rotten with your bad fruits: for the tree IS KNOWN by its fruits!

Verse 38: The measure that we give out will be returned to us. We want to make sure that we are generous.
  • A disciple on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
minister; I think most of us never want to hurt someone's feelings or make them feel guilty and ashamed for their sins; but we have a commandment from God to speak His word faithfully; and rebuking sin is an integral part of letting Jesus' light shine in us. In John 14-16 Jesus tells us that it is the Spirit's work in us and through us to convict the world of sin. This along with real compassion!
  • Minister on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
do not show them their sins ,but show them the light in you ,Jesus said let your light so shine that they would see your good works and glorfy your father which is in heaven. In other words you do what Jesus said according to his words and give them Love .Love covers a multitude of sin.
  • Gerald on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
Read chapter 6:1-5 in Book of Galatians, 1Corinthians 5:1-13, Matthew 18:15-20. These deal with the sinning Christian and the unsaved. Lord says we are not to judge the unsaved but only the saved. We are to RESTORE a Christian back into the fold. We must be a mature, spiritual Christian not walking in sin ourselves. We all sin but as mature christians we should confess and forsake our sins also.

"And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungered, and they which were with him;" Picking ears of corn and rubbing them with your hands to eat is not breaking the Sabbath! The Lord rebukes the knit-picking and fault-finding hypocrite by pointing to examples of mercy for our necessary wants. No commandment exists demanding we go hungry!
  • A disciple on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
Jim; That is such an excellent question! Certainly VERY IMPORTANT with regards to our accountability of ourselves and our brethren, and something we should know instinctively as Christians! The way I see it, in the context of the whole thing that the Lord was teaching; its about not being a hypocrite, and first knowing one's self well enough and being clean, so as to REALLY be a help to others.
  • A disciple on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:" Luke 6:37 This is a fundamental truth of the Spirit influencing the Saints' whole demeanor and course in life. We do not take our fellow servants by the throat and demand payment of his 50 cents while the Lord has frankly forgiven us 50,000's! But there is also a Satanic influence that misuses this great Word against anyone who obeys the Lord and rebukes sin in the brother or in the Congregation. How many times when I was speaking to a so-called brother in the Lord about the Cross, and walking in holiness, and the purpose of our being here in the last times that all of a sudden they would burst out with, "Judge not!" or, "Call the Cops: You get out of here!" The effects of Jesus' Glad Tidings upon men in the real world, as opposed to the sheltered fantasy world of many church people, are quite remarkable and noteworthy. Why is it MOST OFTEN the response of a church-person when seeing and hearing the true grace of God in someone they explode in anger and accusation, and pouring out hatred and hostility? It wasn't only the Jews that became the Synagogue of Satan when they turned away and rejected the faith!

Steve Morrow; GREAT SCRIPTURES! GREAT, GREAT SCRIPTURES!! But as it was foretold of the MANY SPURIOUS PROFESSORS in the end of days; they have turned away their ears from hearing the truth, and are turned to fables and false teachers after their own earthly sensual minds; and the days are coming (AGAIN) when they that kill us will think to be doing God a service; because they cannot be corrected!
  • Jim on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
Exactly what is the line between trying to show someone a grievious sin they continue to commit and judging them?
  • Emmanuel Moses on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
I love this verse and i need more of it.
  • Mrs. Davis on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
I agree with verse 28 about praying for your enemies. It will only block your own blessings if we don't.
  • Ruth on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
If we speak about people who do not follow these words above, perhaps we need to dig further into our own eye. Even a simple cloud passing through will cast a shadow on the ground and if that cloud says to the waters below. Why do you temptest so? Why so dark, confused and angry?
I believe that we are all clouds and water. Responsible for how much light we let shine through us.
