The keys to the kingdom of heaven were given to God's children to loose and bind sins. When someone is on the wayside burdened with a load of sins, the conscience feeling hells burning flames, a child of God stops to heal with the words of the forgiveness of sins. That power has been given to the congregation which Jesus established behind locked doors.

The message of love of God and love for our neighbour keeps ringing in Jesus' teachings. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself." Salvation and love provide the master key to take us to heaven and everlasting life.

  • Jedonai on Luke 1 - 7 years ago
steve:what is the WILL of GOD?
This is the will of God. Luke 10:27. And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Just ponder over it continually in your heart and the Holy Spirit will guide you.

In all the various kinds of people following Jesus, look at the oneness of the word toward each kind! To the Seventy, to the Lawyer, to Martha; all speak to us about being sent into difficult situations and conditions, for the sake of doing God's work: whether we are sent out; or if we have one in front of us who needs mercy; or we need to lay aside all our "other" worries, and sit down and hear!

Loving every body is good but love is empowered by God, so love God first and He will empower you to love everybody and therefore you will be fulfilling the most important aspect of Christianity (LOVE) Luke 10:27, Galatians 5:14
  • Sandra on Luke 10 - 8 years ago
Mary has that attitude of listening whereas Martha worried and Mary chose the good to do. I like the fact worrying does solve the problem which means the word of god has the answer when we totally trust him.

There are so many things for us to learn about the simple things in life. God makes them plain for us. He is our rock, sword and shield.
  • Jaymarie on Luke 10 - 8 years ago
We need to truly ask the Holy Spirit to convert our hearts so that we can love God and love people. We need to show more mercy to those who need mercy. We need to put aside pride from our hearts so the Spirit of the Lord can fully saturate us do His will.

What other Holy Bible verses is comparable to Luke 10:1-17, 21-23; Luke 11:27, 28.

    Romans 2:7-8 "eternal life"=entering God's Kingdom. "Indignation and wrath"=eternal damnation=burning in hell.
Proverbs 9:18"But he knows not that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of hell:" Proverbs 15:11, 15:24, 27:20, Psalms 55:15, Matthew 23:33, Luke 10:15, Revelations 1:18, etc, etc. Looks like Gods' theology !!!! Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Amen

"There is only one thing needed"...This was Jesus' response to Martha. That one thing needed is saving one's soul,in other words Salvation. Also, continually feeding the soul with its desired food, which is the word...The word of God. Now,why didn't Mary join Martha for the preparations? It's clear in verse 39,which says "Her sister,Mary, sat at the Lord's feet, listening to what He taught. This tells us that,Mary was more concerned about saving her soul and knowing the word of God,rather than running after worldly pleasures to satisfy the flesh, which stands for the preparations the bible talks about.Beloved,I encourage you to embrace the freely given salvation the Lord has brought to us.

John 17:4 is analogous to 2 Timothy 4:7 - testimony of a fulfilled calling or mission. John 17:5 confirms the divinity of Jesus, as in John 1:1 - that Jesus is God and has been in existence before the world was created. John 17 also teaches us that if we have received Christ, and we let His Word abide in us, we should be able to handle the trials and tribulations of life, and even overcome the enemy Luke 10:19 because His Word is spirit and His Spirit lives in us. Finally, the knowledge of Him and the presence of His Spirit in our lives guarantee us Eternal Life.

I've really had questions about "loving our neighbor"? Not certain why I never connected these two stories as one because as a little girl I'd heard the story of the Good Samaritan! I read it as a whole today and whoa, to cool to know love your neighbor can mean to help those on the street! I love it

Thanks to Jesus precious blood that shed for us, his resurrection, his ascencion and the Holy Spirit that he sent for us. We must not forget that we are the child of God. Everything is possible with Christ. amen Jesus loves us all the time and he is faithful to his promises. we must love and keep his words until rapture. Amen

In life indeed, we are so much preoccupied with a lot of activities that could sustain our lives and improve our living standards. We are so much concerned about what to eat, what to wear, what to possess and the means to satisfy all these unlimited human wants. But we often take for granted the main thing which is salvation our eternity. We have forgot that Christ came with the sole aim of salvaging our souls from distruction by the devil, the ruler of the earth. However, the moment we begin to preoccupy ourselves with the word of God, his word will transform us into becoming salvaged christians. Lets focus on Jesus Christ, our redeemer.

Greetings fellow readers. Psalms 91 to me is a comforting message to faithfull children of God allover the world. It is assuring us of God 's protection over all those who dwell in his presence and that they have the power to overcome any dangerous situation that comes their way-be it sickness, deadly deseasis etc. In fact, it reminds me of Luke 10:19. It equally present God to us as our great protector having wings which he uses to cover his own faithfull children wheresoever they are and in whatsoever situation they pass- thousands will fall beside you but you will not be touched. I thank the Almighty God for this great assurance onto his people, for it inspires me to seek God the more into my life.
