Luke 10:34, pouring in oil and wine, can that be explained. If the wounds were treated and bound, the pouring in of oil and wine sounds odd. Is it that it was put on the wounds as they were bound??

    Thanks

Lucifer was thrown out of heaven because he wanted to be God. Lucifer was God's right hand angel until he thought he could be God. Here are some of the verses that show where Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and on to the Earth where he (Lucifer) set up his kingdom.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

And in Luke chapter 10 verse 18 Jesus said I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. ( Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven). Lucifer is Satan and Lucifer / Satan is the prince of this world. Jesus never called Satan the King of this world Jesus just called Satan / Lucifer a prince of this world.

I hope this helps you understand

    God Bless

Jesus Christ sent Paul ( Acts 9:15) to preach about his name. Jesus Christ

means in Hebrew "Jehovah is Salvation" ( John 3:16,17; Psalm 83:18)

so Paul was taking the lead and many other qualified men were appointed

to lead the congregations or "Churches KJV". 1 Timothy 3

According to Acts 2 man and woman fulfilled the prophecy at Joel 2:28

during a day of Pentecost ( Acts 2:16-18). All were filled with the holy spirit ( john 4:24)

were all at the same time speaking in tongues. (multitudes heard in his own language

    Acts 2:1,3,6)

Paul was maybe trying to explain that the congregation is not that event.( 1 Corinthians 12:27-31)

that they must speak or prophecy one at a time. to keep the congregation in order. 1Corinthians 14:33.

However, because a man is the head of his wife. a wife remains silent in the congregation ( 1Tim. 2:12).

if she wants to ask a question about something. she should not become authoritative within

the congregation or church (if she doesn't understand something, she should go to her husband).

    1 Corinthians 14:35

    Ephesians 5:21-24

if someone is single. then the head would be Jesus Christ because he is the head of the man (Jesus Christ has appointed qualified men to shepherd the congregation John 21:17. if a woman is single or not married, she can

go to the one taking the lead, and they can pray for her.

    James 5:14-16

    1 Samuel 1:9-18; Luke 10:38-42;

    Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3

    Regarding woman and head covering, according to 1 Corinthians 11:5,8;

if her husband is present, she covers her head if she is preaching or praying.

if her husband is not present and she preaches and prophecies or prays to God,

then she should cover her head as a sign of authority because of the angels.

this is what the scripture says. I can't tell you anything other

    1 Corinthians 11:2-3;8-10; 1Tim. 2:12

1 Corinthians 11:1,2,16 "keeping the order as delivered to them"

"we have no custom of being contentious about"

Job 1:6 - Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Isaiah 14:12-15 - How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Ezekiel 28:14 - Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezekiel 28:15 - Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ezekiel 28:16 - By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Luke 10:18 - And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

John 8:44 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

    Hebrews 2:14 - Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of DEATH, that is, the devil;

LEGALLY, because Jesus (2nd Adam) WON back the Authority FROM SATAN that First Adam lost in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, was conceived becoming the SON OF MAN. All God, all HUMAN.

Satan and Demons are NOT HUMAN. They borrow bodies: dogs, frogs and witches who lend their bodies.

Noticed what the prophet Joel prophesied.

    Acts 2:16-18

all people can teach what they have learned from the bible.

but as far as authority. Adam was created first then eve was created as a

helper for Adam to take care of the earth- Genesis 2:18

    what about "within" the congregation?

    Ephesians 5:22-24; Titus 2:3-5

1 Timothy 3 within the Christian congregation or church...appointed ministers takes the lead in teaching the congregation or church. when a woman learn in silence 1Timothy 2:11, 12

within the congregation, this helps keep the congregation orderly. so in this instance. A woman doesn't have authority over a men within the congregation to teach nor over her husbands at home. however, husbands love their wives and listens to their concerns just as Jehovah ( Psalm 83:18) taught Abraham Gen. 21:8-12. Even Jesus; when he was at a house or on the roads he listened and asked woman questions. woman like Martha, Mary Magdalene, the Samaritan woman. he taught them and spoke to them with kindness. John 11:27; Luke 10:38-42.

if a woman sees something or has a question

...she can ask her husband at home.

yes it is real, these are just a few examples of Jesus talking about hell,

Matthew 23:33 "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?"

Matthew 5:29 "And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."

Matthew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Luke 10:15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell."

Sister Donna, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

You will never understand the Word of God without putting ALL the Words of God together. And even then the Holy Spirit has to explain it to you.

Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little:

Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue (the Holy Spirit) will SPEAK TO HIS PEOPLE.

It takes LOTS OF TIME and STUDY to even begin to understand. Most people just believe what other people tell them.

Revelation is a book that has been SIGNIFIED ( Revelation 1:1) meaning the word (such as heaven) represents something other than its meaning as given in a dictionary.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven ....Now we know heaven represents something other than its definition in a dictionary. It takes other verses to Know what it represents.

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven ...

Matthew 12:28 But if I CAST OUT DEVILS by the SPIRIT OF GOD, then the kingdom of God has COME unto YOU.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon WAS CAST OUT (of heaven)(out of you)....You are the NEW HEAVEN ( Revelation 21:1) where GOD dwells. Colossians 1:27

Revelation 12:10 Now is come SALVATION ....

Luke 10:18 And he said unto him, I saw SATAN as lightning FALL FROM HEAVEN (from within YOU).

Revelation 12:10 Now is come SALVATION, and POWER, and THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD ....

To understand the third killed in Revelation, you have to understand Ezekiel 5:1-5 and Zachariah 13:8-9 and Malachi 3:2-3

    Donna Smith,

There are several opinions on this, we know Satan was the first to rebel, the first to sin, a murderer, and is the father of lies ( John 8:44). We see in Isaiah 14 God said, take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, many take vs. 12 O Lucifer son of the morning as being Satan describing his casting out.

The word Lucifer, the morning star is another word for the planet Venus, Latin roots lux (light) and ferre (to carry) it is its brightest right before sunrise. It is also called a day star because it can be seen in the daytime.

We see in ( Ezekiel 28:12-19) Is a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, where the description of Satan is taken. In ( Job 1) and ( Job 2) " the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord" (angels) Satan showed up. So at this time Satan still had access to heaven. In ( Luke 10:18) Jesus said "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." Whether past or future? Whether it was his ranking or permanent?

Now in ( Revelation 12:7-17) and Revelation 13:1-2), the war in heaven where the red dragon and his angels are cast out into the earth. In verse 8 there is no more place for them in heaven. In verse 12 they are rejoicing in heaven and the warning, "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth" because Satan knows he only has a short time.

My understanding, Revelation 12 starts the great tribulation when Satan is permanently cast down with no more access to heaven and gives his power seat and great authority to the beast. Revelation 12, if you look at the Greek it is Satan standing on the sand of the sea when the beast ascends out of the bottomless pit. ( Revelation 9:11) ( Revelation 11:7) ( Revelation 17:8).

May this help your study, you can use, bible simple search KJV, just type in to edge, google, yahoo or whatever search you use, also this site. Type in devil, Satan, and it will pull all scripture that contains these words you can study.

    God bless,

They have to make Jesus their Lord and Savior. He sheds his blood over our sins. They must have their names RECORDED IN THE BOOK OF LIFE. Priority number one.

Revelation 20:12 - And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 3:5 - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 21:27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 3:1-6 - And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. (Read More...)

Revelation 20:11-15 - And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Luke 10:20 - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (The Book of Life)

Exodus 32:33 - And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Psalms 69:28 - Let them be blotted out of the book of the living (Life) and not be written with the righteous.

Malachi 3:16 - Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Donna Pittman on 1 Timothy 5:

"Why would the Bible tell someone to drink wine when strong drink is a mocker . Are they talking about grape juice or wine that swirls in the glass?"

Try to understand. When Jesus was born, God had sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God.

Jesus was 33 yrs old when He started His ministry. Jesus's first miracle was to turn water into wine. After that the miracles happened more often: the sick were healed, he fed the multitudes with a few loaves of bread and a few fishes, the blind got their sight, the lame walked, demons were cast out, and the dead were brought back to life.

Jesus gave His disciples the authority to preform those same miracles in His name. ( Luke 10:1-20)

When Jesus was crucified and died, and buried, and God raised Him from the dead, and Jesus ascended into Heaven-

His disciples continued on preaching the Gospel of Jesus, and preforming miracles (like healing the sick) until the day when they died.

HOWEVER, the time of miracles was a one time historical event. The miracles were Jesus's credentials that proved He is the Son of God and that God had sent Him.

The miracles ceased when the last original Apostle died. (I think John was the last.)

The Apostle Paul who, wasn't one of the original Apostles was specifically chosen by God to preach the Gospel of Christ to the Gentiles. (Hence, Jesus appeared to Paul on the Damascus road.) When you read the Pauline Epistles you think they were written one after another. When in reality, months or years passed between letters. Paul was a very old man by the time he had written his letters to Timothy. The age of miracles had ceased to where Paul (or Timothy or any other of the other disciples) couldn't heal anyone. So he told Timothy to drink a little wine for his stomach's sake. (the wine helped kill the bacteria that was causing Timothy stomach problems.)

An occasional glass of wine is okay. Alcoholism is not.

The calling of the Spirit as beelzebub or evil is the unforgivable sin. It is in effect a realization of the authority of God and is roughly equivalent to lucifers. Those angels who were present at the creation saw and rejoiced at thar time. It is much like those who do not love the truth (which clearly shows they know something about it) and subsequently believe the Lie of the sntichrust soon to be revealed. Blessed are those who haven't seen yet believe. After the rapture many will see and fear ( Psalm 40). By the sixth seal there will be no.atheists but full knowledge of God and the Son coming to judge. Without the Spirit revealing who Christ is man is blinded and hence it was hidden to the man who Christ said why do you call me good? He is attri used to a "good man" when in reality as CS Lewis so aptly said he is either God a life or a lunatic. When ww assail His character and works we have gone beyond the fear and to open rebellion as will characterize the lost later on in the tribulation who blaspheme God and harden their hearts as predestined to according to the Word if they are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world. Hence every sinner given uo to their own depraved nature eventually will end up this way and soon be delided to worship thr beast and be deluded by thr false prophet into their own version of eternal life. WHO CAN MAKE WAR WITH HIM (he with the deadly wound see Zachariah). He with the right eye damaged and right arm withered. Will inspired man to take the mark on the same body areas. If we hate God we love Satan and are empowered by the devil and hos world system. We become seared as a hot iron in callousness to our own helpless depraved wicked soul and go from choosing to remain in sin to eventually be condemned to remain in that state. Despite many testimonies to the contrary there will be no desire for the truth righteousness and worship of Christ in hell to men forever in an unregenerate state.

    Amen Brother Jess.

I believe everything you just said.

I believe the level of fruitfulness behind the works of a believer is important. The purpose behind the action, Is it inward or an outward performance of self glory or righteousness. As the Lord said to the Pharisees.

" Matthew 23:26. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."

As well as obedience to the will of God.

Luke 12:47-48. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

I believe a non believer will be judged by their deeds APART from the atonement of the provided sacrificial Lamb of God.

Possibly divided by what by what they heard or seen.

Luke 10:13-16. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

The final casting out did not occur until after the birth of Christ ( Rev. 12:1-5) and during the days of John the Baptist ( Matt. 11:12). It was then that the adversary began a civil war in heaven, and following his defeat there was a final casting out along with his followers ( Luke 10:18; Rev. 12:7-9); and he is in a state of rage because he knows he will be shortly bound in the bottomless pit ( Rev. 20:1). The restraints upon him during the Old Testament are no longer in place. However, the elect are protected because of the specific prayer request of Christ in John 17:18.

    Dear knowing our authority,

I just have a few questions for you. First of all, in Luke 10:19, the word hurt is the word injustice, not hurt as in physical harm. In Luke 9:1-2, we see that Jesus called His twelve disciples and gave (them) power and authority, and power to heal the sick. Does it say anywhere else that He gave the same power to all believers?

In Mark 16:17, are the "them" and "they" not the twelve? Because we are told in Hebrews 2:2 that when the apostles went out and preached, that there were signs that followed in order to establish the apostles preaching as the gospel of God. Isn't that what he is saying in Mark 16:17?

Last question is where you say that this power and authority only works if we believe in faith. Are you saying that if a believer commands in faith through Christ, and something does not happen, that the believer is the blame because he/she lacks faith? If so, that is not biblical. There is no such thing as a believer who is born of God's Spirit lacking faith when we fully understand the true definition of faith. No such thing!
  • We must learn this to protect others and pray for them - 3 years ago
    Knowing our authority

To pray for our loved ones we need to come against the enemy and pray that they would receive the truth. To come against the enemy, we need to first know what our power and authority is in Jesus.

Behold, I give unto you authority to tread over ALL the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you ( Luke 10:19). Authority is delegated power.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick ( Luke 9:1, 2).

For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants ( Mark 13:34).

In my name shall they cast out devils ( Mark 16:17).

What power and authority do these four verses say that Christ gave us? He gave us "All power and authority" over the enemy. Christ has given us His power and authority over Satan and his kingdom. However, it only works if we believe in faith and command in faith through Christ. When we come against Satan in faith, in the name of Jesus, Satan must obey. If you do not believe, if you have little faith, Satan knows, and will not listen to you. While Satan may not obey us, he must obey the authority of Jesus that we have been given and that we are operating in.

And who are we that Christ should give us such authority? you are a son (daughter); and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir ( Gal 4:7).

Comment: it is the authority Christ imparted to us, that we use to subdue enemies and cast their invisible selves into dry places of outer darkness. Never to return! Ephesians 6.

Every man's work shall be made manifest: for THE DAY shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a REWARD. (Search: 5 Crowns)

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself SHALL BE SAVED, yet so as by fire.

    COMMENT:

Question we ask ourselves honestly: what are we building with?

Are we building up the Body of Christ?

Jesus: we are to be imitating; doing. If we can't Go Ye, then maybe equip those that are? Commit to pray for the laborers to be sent into the Harvest? Luke 10:2

I don't know anyone who gets it right all of the time. I don't. There are many great needs these days, and it's going to get worse. We elected leadership that does not know what a budget is for. Step 1: Make your requests known to God.

I'll post the 4 Horsemen of Revelation tomorrow. Book of Revelation will commence whether we believe it or not. Google Lists. Lots of people really work hard on making scripture easier to read.

Sister Nancy, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and His understanding.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this FIRST, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

This says you can't take one verse and come to truth, you have to combine verses from other parts of scripture to know the message.

I suppose you are making reference to Revelation 12 where Satan was cast from heaven. Let's put other verses with this and see if truth appears.

Matthew 12:28 But if I CAST OUT DEVILS by the Spirit of GOD, then the kingdom of God is COME UNTO YOU.

Christ is casting out Satan so he can dwell IN YOU (THE NEW HEAVEN).

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven... Colossians 1:27 ...this MYSTERY, Christ in you....

Revelation 12:7 And there was WAR IN HEAVEN (Spirit vs. flesh) (in you) Michael (Spirit) and his angels fought against the dragon (flesh); and the dragon fought and his angels.

Revelation 12:8 And (flesh, dragon and his angels) prevailed not; neither was their (dragon and his angels) place found ANY MORE IN HEAVEN (in you where Christ dwells).

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was CAST OUT (if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God), that old serpent (that deceived Eve), called the devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the WHOLE WORLD; he was CAST OUT....

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice (truth) saying in heaven (in you), Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of HIS CHRIST....

Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Luke 10:18 And he said to them, I beheld SATAN as lightning falling from heaven (those that Satan was CAST OUT OF).

    God bless!

As I am looking forward to a reply from Earl I want to make another post. No rush Earl you have stated your situation.

As Adam has stated in another post I cannot see ALL being saved in the end as how many Scriptures there are about people going to eternal damnation or "Hell". Some can't see a loving God be like this to people for say only sinning in the span of their physical life. Though I don't think anyone can perceive how serious sin is to a Perfect, Pure, Almighty God. Also in that it is not the pleasure of God that any should perish. The Lord will not turn away any that truly come to Him. Then on the day of Judgement when the books are opened. People may be shown how many times in their lives God has tried to lead them to Salvation in Jesus Christ and repentance of sins. Maybe just repentance before the Lord came to earth. All up to Him as He is fair.

So here are a couple more Scriptures I find that solidify this. Even at the end of Isaiah 66:23-24. Speaking of all flesh coming to worship Him though just the next verse it speaks of how bad it will be for those who are against Him. Daniel 12:2, Psalms 9:17, 2 Timothy 2:12, Hebrews 6:8, 1 Peter 4:17-19, 2 Peter 3:7. Our names written in Heaven which does not seem to be for all Luke 10:20.

How Jesus Christ spake of a "Hell" and tried to warn people of it a lot. A place of "wailing and gnashing of teeth". Eternal punishment as those who are saved eternal life. The same Greek word used "aionios" for "everlasting or without beginning or end".

The story of Lazarus and there being two places separate from each other after death. Luke 16:20-31.

Weather it be sheol, hades, gehenna, tartarus, or just hell I want nothing to do with any of those places. I believe God loves us so much He sent us these warnings in that we do not have to go there. Though if any reject Him He will not force anyone to be with Him.

A good saying. "If you are born twice(born again in the Spirit) you die once, born once die twice".

Dear Carol, If I may expand on Jesse's comment. Jesus warned the Jews that if they rejected (blasphemed) the Holy Ghost they would not be forgiven. He prayed for their rejection of himself on the cross, interceding for them, with the Father because they did not understand what they were doing. Israel later rejected the Holy Ghost's witness through Stephen (see Acts 7) and committed blasphemy against the Holy Ghost through Stephen. God then set them aside for judgment and raised another Apostle of for this age until the time of the Gentiles be full. God will then fulfill his promises to Israel for the future Kingdom. It is the Holy Ghost that witnesses to us today through His word. If we reject His word we condemn ourselves. Jesse is right about what it means for us today. We commit blasphemy of the Holy Ghost by rejection of Christ alone for our salvation. There is no other sin that has not already been, is or will be not covered by the faith of Christ for us today.

    Carol,

Blasphemy is a word that is used to expresses rejection. This would be a person who refuses to gather with Christ in the whole process of the testimony of God's Spirit. If they reject God's Spirit, and His persuasion, and His conviction over their life, they cannot be forgiven for that. A person can be forgiven for everything else.

But if a person rejects the testimony of God's Spirit that is convicting them of their need for Christ, and their need to be saved, if they reject that, there is no forgiveness.

The sin problem has been dealt with. It's been paid for. Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. So salvation has been paid for. Christ paid the penalty for sin by shedding His blood for the remission of sin. But if a person rejects that salvation, they are rejecting Christ. Salvation is a gift from God. He died for the sins of the whole world. If a person rejects that, they are rejecting the conviction of God's Spirit showing them their need for Christ. That is what it means to blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

    I hope this helps!

Hi Jesse, I'd like to offer a different perspective on your comment:

    >"So a doer of the word in my understanding doesn't mean that I take my bible and go out and do it"

If the good Samaritan followed this advice he would not have stopped to help the injured man. Luke 10:25-37 Maybe he would have walked on by because he already knew who he was in his own mind, and didn't want to risk being 'legalistic' or obedient, as if that's a bad thing. Reminds me of a Pharisee- who felt self-righteous but didn't have good deeds as fruit that show their faith in action.

Matt 25:40 comes to mind: "...as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

The push to not be obedient or do good works seems contradictory to this verse: James 1:22 and so many others throughout the Bible - would God tell us we don't need to obey Him and to not do what He says, or would someone else be behind this? Who is the most likely source that tells us that being good is bad and doing bad is good?

Matthew 25 and basically most of Jesus' parables were about the same thing: being prepared, because a day will come and we will be separated and judged and accountable for our actions. The foolish virgins were unprepared and did nothing. The bag of gold parable Jesus called the one who did nothing but hid the gold "wicked and slothful." Jesus said about the ones who did nothing (no works) to help others sent them to hell: Matt 25:44-46

Jesus also said about obedience: John 14:15.

To anyone claiming good deeds and works is 'bad' notice that the Bible is full of instruction to do good deeds and works. One would have to ignore nearly the entire Bible in order to come to such a conclusion. If our actions didn't' matter then the Bible wouldn't have continually said it DOES matter and we will literally be judged for it. We are saved by grace, we don't earn heaven, but Christianity is a verb = action.

Karen, may the SPIRIT grace you with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

The BIG QUESTION? If you don't accept Christ in your physical life time are you cut off forever? Or go to hell?

    Most BELIEVE in this assumption.

If the scriptures are studied as a whole and verses are not picked and apply in direct opposition to other verses we see a different truth than the above.

The scriptures assert that THE WORKS OF GOD are divided into different ages or generations.

So what's taking place in the age we are presently living in.

Scripture says that God through Christ is CHOOSING a few to rule and judge in HIS KINGDOM and they with HIM will bring all creation INTO CHRIST.

Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensations of the fullness of TIMES he might gather together in one ALL THINGS in CHRIST........

Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature WAITETH for the manifestation of THE SONS OF GOD.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself ALSO SHALL BE DELIVERED (by Christ and his elect).......

Romans 11:30-31 For as ye in times past HAVE NOT BELIEVED GOD, yet have obtained mercy through THEIR UNBELIEF:

(vs 31) Even so have these also NOT NOW believed, that through YOUR MERCY they also MAY OBTAIN MERCY.

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when ALL THINGS shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great; but the labourers (OF GOD'S WORKS) are FEW.....

Matthew 20:16 many are called, FEW are chosen....

Why are they called and not chosen; because they didn't BELIEVE WHAT GOD SAID.

Yes they are saved; but want be a judge in the kingdom.

    Greetings,

satan was/is an angel who (because of pride) was cast out of his place as the worship leader of heaven. He still travels to and fro on the earth and even up to heaven to accuse the brethren before God. He is referred to as the dragon/that old serpent in the revelation. During the time of Jacob's trouble/ the Great Tribulation, he will be cast out permanently from heaven ( Luke 10:18/ Revelation 12:9). He is also spoken of in Ezekiel as the King of Tyre.

Lucifer, however, is (will be) a man; the antichrist, in whom satan will dwell. There are passages in Isaiah 14 about him, as well as in Ezekiel; where he is spoken of as the prince of Tyre. Also, in the Revelation, he is referred to as the beast.

Hope this helps as you search the scriptures.

Adam, its the same old world, likely evil has increased though. The world is against the Christian yet many Christians still love the world. For me it sad if there is loss amongst those once saved whether in the Kingdom or visible Church to losing focus on the purpose of salvation of souls. As time possibly nears its end more Christians are focused on their own survival in the remaining world. The race is not over until it is over. We must run to the finish with the peace of God in our hearts and without fear of our fellow men. Detailed end time doctrines are a distraction, not that a runner does not know that his surroundings may have changed and a possible correction in speed or less wind resistance or temperature related changes may be needed. Born again Christians have the Holy Ghost leading them in these times. There are many children and young adults that need an living example of carrying this peace in this race and that this immediate benefit is worth the whole race, yet it is only the beginning of the eternal purpose in Jesus Christ. Satan tempts the Christian in many ways but a favorite way is in the area of patience, the patience of the saints ne wants to take that away. Satan hates non- resistance and this is in no wise the same as complacency.

    Written in love,

    Carleton
