So, 8 years plus 3 years plus 14 years, would be 25 year after the resurrection of Jesus that Paul had the big Bible conference in Jerusalem with all the Apostles when he told the other Apostles of the Gospel that he was preaching to the Gentiles. The 12 Apostles had been preaching a different Gospel for 25 years. They never preached "how that Christ died for sins" Not once. The reason the Jews had to admit that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, was because "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles by God's choice. The Lord Jesus declared that He had a specific mission for Paul: "This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel" ( Acts 9:15). Paul had been set apart from birth and called by God's grace so that he might "preach [Christ] among the Gentiles" ( Galatians 1:15-16).

This passage of scripture is 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, but verse three and four, is the Gospel, the good news that Christ took our place so that we might have live everlasting.

In my experiences and perception, along with Scripture, you are correct. As of coarse He is our Lord and Eternal King. What started from a very personal experience with the Lord I was led to this answer in the Bible about Jesus being our brother. Tongues were a sign gift to the Jews, because their Nation started under Moses with sign and wanders; miracles of all sorts. So if someone was speaking in tongues today, would they be speaking to Jews; for the Gentiles don't need a sing?
Peter never preach that Christ died for our sins, His Gospel is different from Paul's Gospel to the Gentiles. In Matthew chapter tem Jesus commanded his disciples not to go to the Gentiles; the only exception is Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and preached to one Gentile in Acts 10. The Apostle John's Gospel to the Jews is John 20:31 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." On this "God and Jesus are not the same" all I can do is give you my perception on this. As other people may have different views. Maybe others more learned than I would like to share but I will proclaim what I feel about our Lord Jesus Christ. I do not believe Jesus Christ is God the Father as it seems pretty obvious to me as they are two, Father and Son. Although things like Jesus stating "I and the Father are One" and "If you have seen me you have seen the Father" some people may use those to proclaim that "Jesus is God". As I have said before I really have no problem with people saying Jesus is God as they are One. As God is Spirit the Father being in the Son and the Son in the Father is truth. They being One. All things that the Father has have been given to the Son.

I believe it was his earthly body, and there are two reasons for why I believe that. Firstly, the grave clothes were empty, and secondly, he had the prints of the nails and wound in his side, from his crucifixion to offer to Thomas. John 20:5,6,7 and v.27
Simply put Faith is something you believe in without a doubt. example, when you sit in a chair that you have never sat in before, do you check it out to make sure that it is safe or do you just sit in it, trusting that it was built to hold a human weight. This, to me would be an example of Faith that it was built to be safe. Or when you see a little child and see the trust they have in their parents to protect and nourish them, this is another example of Faith. Throughout the NT there are many examples of Faith, John 20:25 Thomas who just spent 3 years with Jesus, but had doubt on His resurrection, until Jesus showed himself to him, Mark 5:25-34 is of a woman who had an issue of blood, and believed, and she was healed. Matthew 8:10 the Roman centurion believed and his servant was healed. Likewise as Christians we need to believe that Jesus death and resurrection on the cross is the only way to our salvation. Hebrews chapter 11 Paul explains faith in great detail, Matthew 18:3 tells us to become and believe as a child. I hope this helps.

The reply you gave to brother Adam doesn't answer anything, for me, really. I know of many names that are of God Almighty(Father) that are not of Jesus Christ and vice versa. As you stated there are some they both use.
John 20:17 is good: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Jesus stating "go to my brethren". Is God our Father or Brother? I call God Father just as Jesus Christ did. Since receiving the Holy Spirit of adoption from Him.

Just a couple names referring to the Father and not Jesus Christ: The Most High, Lord of Hosts, Ancient of Days, God of gods, The Vine Grower, Our Father which art in Heaven etc.
Some names referring to Jesus Christ not God the Father: The Son of God, The Anointed One(Christ or Messiah), High Priest, The Bread of Life, Mediator between God and men, The Vine, Lamb of God, Chief corner Stone etc.
And of coarse many names both the Father and Son share. As they are One in each other. Although I do not believe the Son is the Father and the Father is the Son as you do.

You're correct, those particular terms are not found in the Bible; only Son of God or Spirit of God. However, could it be that those terms actually imply a similar meaning?
For example, I point out a car to you which is parked kerbside. I tell you, "That's my car". How do you understand me? In the normal way, you will immediately assume that the car belongs to me. But actually it doesn't belong to me, it belongs to a friend, from whom I have loaned it. So which is correct? In a sense, both are correct: the car is mine because I have the key to it & I drive it - so it could be that I own it or I took loan of it - it's still mine to get inside & drive it.
The point I'm making is that whether Jesus is described as 'the Son of God' or 'God's Son' or 'God the Son', can still have the same meaning only if the Scriptures spoken about Him, warrant it. If we didn't have John 1:1-14, John 20:28, Isaiah 9:6, Titus 2:13, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:1-8, John 10:30, 2 Peter 1:1, & others, given to us, then yes, you would be entirely correct to say that Jesus is just a created Being by God, thus to be called His Son.
So the question is not about the accuracy of the term 'God the Son', but rather what do people do with all the other Scriptures that point to Jesus being both the Son of God & God the Son? I have often asked people to exegete John 1:1-14 to me & they have failed to do so. I did see a Christadelphian article on it, & they say "the Word that became flesh was not the incarnate Son but the incarnate Word". Strange! If the Word became flesh & we know of no other human that became one from the Word of God, then it must apply to Jesus Who is God's Word made flesh & dwelt amongst us. I have no problem with this, but those who oppose this doctrine fail to provide an adequate explanation, rather either avoid such Scriptures or apply another interpretation to them to support their belief. Some might be convinced by this - others, reading the Word, remain unconvinced.
Steve, I think we've broached this matter before in our discussions. Whilst I believe in the complete Unity of God & that God is One, but from Him, we are taught from the Scriptures, proceed the Word & the Spirit. Though the original comment by Roy was one of 'fatherhood', I believe that the Word sent from God to become Man, expresses God's Fatherhood to His Son Jesus Christ. However, since the Unity of God has never been broken, the Son even at the Father's right Hand, remains wholly within the Unity of God & the full expression of His Person.
Of Jesus in the OT is written: Isaiah 9:6, Psalm 45:6,7 (cf Hebrews 1:8), Psalm 110:1, Daniel 7:13,14.
In the NT: John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-8, Titus 2:13 (cf John 20:28), 1 John 5:20 & many more.
So I don't believe it was the RCC or the Nicene Council that introduced the understanding of the Godhead, but what we see & learn from the Scriptures. But to say that Jesus is presently the Almighty God, without the presence of the Father in Heaven is wrong, as other Scriptures attest to it. The apostles & early Church believed in the deity of Christ & so we take it from there & hold onto it, even though our human understanding is limited & weak to understand the personality of God & His revelation to us.
This can be a difficult question to answer depending on how you understand certain Scriptures.
For those who deem that Heaven & Paradise are the same location, they will cite 2 Corinthians 12:4 & Revelation 2:7, where in each of these references, Paul & John indicated that Heaven, the abode of God, is intended.
For those who believe that Paradise is a separate place, they will appeal to the location of departed souls pre-Cross, as in Luke chapter 16. Here we see the rich man being tormented in hell, & beyond the separating gulf, there was Lazarus, the beggar, who enjoyed relative comfort. And in Luke 23:43, Jesus tells the thief on the Cross that he would also go to Paradise with Him. We assume that this wasn't Heaven, as Jesus said that He had not ascended to the Father ( John 20:17). We understand that while Jesus' Body was in the sepulchre for the three days, Jesus, as also the thief, went down into Paradise. But at Jesus' bodily resurrection, those bodies in the graves also arose ( Matthew 27:53) with Him & we might assume that their souls once held in Paradise were now released to enter Heaven.
Some compartmentalize Hades with a section of suffering & another section of comfort. At Christ's death & resurrection, the souls who were in comfort (being noted for their faith & love for God), were released from there & taken into Heaven, the abode of God. However, the wicked still remain in Hades awaiting their final judgement & casting into the Lake of Fire (in the future).
So in answer to your question, both Heaven & Paradise can now be correctly considered as one & the same. But there was a distinction made pre-Cross, as those held in that Paradise (a place of comfort) awaited the great event of Christ's Sacrifice that provided the payment for their sins based on their faith & removed their condemnation. Romans 8:1.
I can only think of John 20:25, indicating that Thomas had viewed the crucifixion but would only believe in Christ's resurrection if he saw the nail prints in His Hands & the spear wound at His side. However, crucifixion was a common form of execution by the Romans, & using nails for hanging the body in a perpendicular position, provided the excruciating agony they desired the prisoner to experience but not a protracted death resulting from an inability to lift the body to breathe.
I have heard that a small ledge was also nailed to the cross beneath the feet of the one being crucified to prevent the nails in the hands & feet from tearing through the flesh from the body's weight; but this fact I have not been able to verify conclusively.
To clarify, are you suggesting that there is no God in Heaven except Jesus, Who is God? Or, maybe that Jesus is Our God, so the God in Heaven is no longer our God? It would be difficult to prove that only Jesus (as God) is presently in Heaven.
To do so, then a lot of other Scriptures would have to be negated, when Jesus says: John 16:16.17 "I go to the Father"; John 20:17 "I ascend to my Father...and to My God"; Hebrews 8:1, 10:12, Mark 16:19, Romans 8:34, 1 Peter 3:22 "at the right Hand of God" & many more.

God had to provide His Own Lamb, which He did ( Isaiah 53:7, John 1:29), which no animal or man could fulfil. God the Father did not leave Heaven to accomplish this task but He sent forth His Word clothed in flesh to do so ( John 1:1-14) & called this Word, His beloved Son. God also sent forth His Spirit to empower His Son for service & power to all who repent & call upon Him that they too may be one as They are One ( John 17:21-26).
God cannot be divided into three parts, else we might conclude, three gods. He has revealed Himself in His Fullness, in tri-unity, without which He could not be the God He reveals to us & what He accomplishes for us. Blessings.
The sin of the Christian Church is it's refusal to say Jesus is it's God, the very one who made us and keeps us alive. Jesus said it like this in John 8:24: "You are from below; I am not. That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am who I say I am, you will die in your sins."
John says it like this in John in John 1:1, "... and he was God." And Thomas said to Jesus in John 20:28: "My Lord and my God."

As you can see then, Jesus is our God, the one who came and died for the sins of the world, even if the Christian Church wont say so. And this is a sad commentary on the human race. This means that, even today, we we are ignoring the clear warning David gives us in Psalm 14: "Only the fool says in his heard that (Jesus) is not God." And David is a man after Jesus' own heart."
See, David is preaching the Gospel ahead of time, long before it took place, that the Lord he knew as YHWH God in the Old Testament is the New Testament Jesus. This is why David says in verse 7: "Oh that salvation would come from Mount Zion and rescue Israel. For when the Lord rescues his people they will shout for joy." And salvation did come from Mount Zion, for this is the place where Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.
So this is my proclamation: Jesus is the One True God, all others are false.

Thomas should have been chastised severely for referring to Jesus as his Lord and his God. But He wasn't, rather Jesus accepted his declaration. We should go above & beyond the doubts that Thomas had over the Lord's deity & accept Jesus for Who He is: the Word of the Father made flesh to become the Son of the Father.
Les, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Had Israel recognized Jesus as their Messiah, according to the prophecies that went before Him, then they would not be in this spiritual darkness they're in, clinging onto the old commandments of God plus their own added righteousness, to be acceptable to God. They expected a conquering Messiah that would save them from the Roman oppression, but they missed recognizing the Lord of Glory Who came to save them from sin's penalty. They still wait for him, but how they shall weep when they see the One Whom they pierced ( Revelation 1:7) coming in His Glory & Power.
But for those who have come out of Judaism & turned to Christ, how it must bring joy to the Lord's Heart to see their response. And also for each one of us 'gentiles' "who having not seen yet have believed" ( John 20:29).
It's good for Christians to ask questions like about the sabbath and discuss it. To me that's part of trying to optimize their live to avoid sin and please the Lord. That shows they care about doing what's right. Christianity (following Christ) is an active pursuit which involves behavior modification, growth, and trying to serve others to the best of our ability. Some of this is trial and error, discovering our gifts, and asking questions. So, questions and respectful discussions are welcomed. Paul disagrees with you, Read this: Galatians 1:11-12 "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." Jesus gave Paul the exact word of the Gospel that he preached to the Gentiles.
The amount of time between the death of Jesus, and His subsequent appearance to Paul would be 8 or 9 years around 36 or 37A.D.). so Paul would have been in his early 30's when Jesus appeared to him, and he became a Christian.
Galatians 1:18-19 "Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother." Galatians 2:1-2 "Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. 2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain." So, 8 years plus 3 years plus 14 years, would be 25 year after the resurrection of Jesus that Paul had the big Bible conference in Jerusalem with all the Apostles when he told the other Apostles of the Gospel that he was preaching to the Gentiles. The 12 Apostles had been preaching a different Gospel for 25 years. They never preached "how that Christ died for sins" Not once. In my experiences and perception, along with Scripture, you are correct. As of coarse He is our Lord and Eternal King. What started from a very personal experience with the Lord I was led to this answer in the Bible about Jesus being our brother. On this "God and Jesus are not the same" all I can do is give you my perception on this. As other people may have different views. Maybe others more learned than I would like to share but I will proclaim what I feel about our Lord Jesus Christ. I do not believe Jesus Christ is God the Father as it seems pretty obvious to me as they are two, Father and Son. Although things like Jesus stating "I and the Father are One" and "If you have seen me you have seen the Father" some people may use those to proclaim that "Jesus is God". As I have said before I really have no problem with people saying Jesus is God as they are One. As God is Spirit the Father being in the Son and the Son in the Father is truth. They being One. All things that the Father has have been given to the Son.
Jesus Christ being the Elect or Chosen One of God. He is the Word of God and the Perfect Lamb of God. The Mediator between God Almighty and man. Sent to us by our Perfect Father in Heaven to bear our sins on His shoulders.( 1 John 2:1-2. By the Glorious Grace and love that God has for us. I believe Isaiah 42 is a good chapter, in the Old Testament, that speaks about Jesus Christ.

I believe it was his earthly body, and there are two reasons for why I believe that. Firstly, the grave clothes were empty, and secondly, he had the prints of the nails and wound in his side, from his crucifixion to offer to Thomas. John 20:5,6,7 and v.27

The reply you gave to brother Adam doesn't answer anything, for me, really. I know of many names that are of God Almighty(Father) that are not of Jesus Christ and vice versa. As you stated there are some they both use.
John 20:17 is good: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Jesus stating "go to my brethren". Is God our Father or Brother? I call God Father just as Jesus Christ did. Since receiving the Holy Spirit of adoption from Him.

Just a couple names referring to the Father and not Jesus Christ: The Most High, Lord of Hosts, Ancient of Days, God of gods, The Vine Grower, Our Father which art in Heaven etc.
Some names referring to Jesus Christ not God the Father: The Son of God, The Anointed One(Christ or Messiah), High Priest, The Bread of Life, Mediator between God and men, The Vine, Lamb of God, Chief corner Stone etc.
And of coarse many names both the Father and Son share. As they are One in each other. Although I do not believe the Son is the Father and the Father is the Son as you do.

For example, I point out a car to you which is parked kerbside. I tell you, "That's my car". How do you understand me? In the normal way, you will immediately assume that the car belongs to me. But actually it doesn't belong to me, it belongs to a friend, from whom I have loaned it. So which is correct? In a sense, both are correct: the car is mine because I have the key to it & I drive it - so it could be that I own it or I took loan of it - it's still mine to get inside & drive it.
The point I'm making is that whether Jesus is described as 'the Son of God' or 'God's Son' or 'God the Son', can still have the same meaning only if the Scriptures spoken about Him, warrant it. If we didn't have John 1:1-14, John 20:28, Isaiah 9:6, Titus 2:13, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:1-8, John 10:30, 2 Peter 1:1, & others, given to us, then yes, you would be entirely correct to say that Jesus is just a created Being by God, thus to be called His Son.
So the question is not about the accuracy of the term 'God the Son', but rather what do people do with all the other Scriptures that point to Jesus being both the Son of God & God the Son? I have often asked people to exegete John 1:1-14 to me & they have failed to do so. I did see a Christadelphian article on it, & they say "the Word that became flesh was not the incarnate Son but the incarnate Word". Strange! If the Word became flesh & we know of no other human that became one from the Word of God, then it must apply to Jesus Who is God's Word made flesh & dwelt amongst us. I have no problem with this, but those who oppose this doctrine fail to provide an adequate explanation, rather either avoid such Scriptures or apply another interpretation to them to support their belief. Some might be convinced by this - others, reading the Word, remain unconvinced.
Of Jesus in the OT is written: Isaiah 9:6, Psalm 45:6,7 (cf Hebrews 1:8), Psalm 110:1, Daniel 7:13,14.
In the NT: John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-8, Titus 2:13 (cf John 20:28), 1 John 5:20 & many more.
So I don't believe it was the RCC or the Nicene Council that introduced the understanding of the Godhead, but what we see & learn from the Scriptures. But to say that Jesus is presently the Almighty God, without the presence of the Father in Heaven is wrong, as other Scriptures attest to it. The apostles & early Church believed in the deity of Christ & so we take it from there & hold onto it, even though our human understanding is limited & weak to understand the personality of God & His revelation to us.
For those who deem that Heaven & Paradise are the same location, they will cite 2 Corinthians 12:4 & Revelation 2:7, where in each of these references, Paul & John indicated that Heaven, the abode of God, is intended.
For those who believe that Paradise is a separate place, they will appeal to the location of departed souls pre-Cross, as in Luke chapter 16. Here we see the rich man being tormented in hell, & beyond the separating gulf, there was Lazarus, the beggar, who enjoyed relative comfort. And in Luke 23:43, Jesus tells the thief on the Cross that he would also go to Paradise with Him. We assume that this wasn't Heaven, as Jesus said that He had not ascended to the Father ( John 20:17). We understand that while Jesus' Body was in the sepulchre for the three days, Jesus, as also the thief, went down into Paradise. But at Jesus' bodily resurrection, those bodies in the graves also arose ( Matthew 27:53) with Him & we might assume that their souls once held in Paradise were now released to enter Heaven.
Some compartmentalize Hades with a section of suffering & another section of comfort. At Christ's death & resurrection, the souls who were in comfort (being noted for their faith & love for God), were released from there & taken into Heaven, the abode of God. However, the wicked still remain in Hades awaiting their final judgement & casting into the Lake of Fire (in the future).
So in answer to your question, both Heaven & Paradise can now be correctly considered as one & the same. But there was a distinction made pre-Cross, as those held in that Paradise (a place of comfort) awaited the great event of Christ's Sacrifice that provided the payment for their sins based on their faith & removed their condemnation. Romans 8:1.
I have heard that a small ledge was also nailed to the cross beneath the feet of the one being crucified to prevent the nails in the hands & feet from tearing through the flesh from the body's weight; but this fact I have not been able to verify conclusively.
Perhaps James 5:16 - ...confess your sins to one another...
Or 1 Peter 3:15 - ... and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you...
Or perhaps John 20:23 -...whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them...
It could be Romans 1:16 - ...I am not ashamed of the gospel...

To do so, then a lot of other Scriptures would have to be negated, when Jesus says: John 16:16.17 "I go to the Father"; John 20:17 "I ascend to my Father...and to My God"; Hebrews 8:1, 10:12, Mark 16:19, Romans 8:34, 1 Peter 3:22 "at the right Hand of God" & many more.
I earnestly hope that I have misunderstood your comments as the abundance of Scripture is given for us to know that there is still a God in Heaven & His Word made flesh has now ascended victorious & glorious, seated at His Father's right Hand, receiving the worship as One inclusive in the eternal Godhead.

With the Scriptures before us, and they don't lie, the "mystery of the Trinity" in part, is that the Eternal God has in His Love, chosen to give of Himself as the only Sacrifice that would satisfy His demands of justice & redemption. An unblemished animal was a temporal covering for sin which could never remove the guilt & consequences of sin. God had to provide His Own Lamb, which He did ( Isaiah 53:7, John 1:29), which no animal or man could fulfil. God the Father did not leave Heaven to accomplish this task but He sent forth His Word clothed in flesh to do so ( John 1:1-14) & called this Word, His beloved Son. God also sent forth His Spirit to empower His Son for service & power to all who repent & call upon Him that they too may be one as They are One ( John 17:21-26).
God cannot be divided into three parts, else we might conclude, three gods. He has revealed Himself in His Fullness, in tri-unity, without which He could not be the God He reveals to us & what He accomplishes for us. Blessings.

As you can see then, Jesus is our God, the one who came and died for the sins of the world, even if the Christian Church wont say so. And this is a sad commentary on the human race. This means that, even today, we we are ignoring the clear warning David gives us in Psalm 14: "Only the fool says in his heard that (Jesus) is not God." And David is a man after Jesus' own heart."
See, David is preaching the Gospel ahead of time, long before it took place, that the Lord he knew as YHWH God in the Old Testament is the New Testament Jesus. This is why David says in verse 7: "Oh that salvation would come from Mount Zion and rescue Israel. For when the Lord rescues his people they will shout for joy." And salvation did come from Mount Zion, for this is the place where Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.

Read verse 31 : death to the God head doctrine, again .
It's always good to keep things in context .
But these are written , that ye might believe that Jesus is the CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD; and that believing ye might have life through his name .
Case closed again !
No GOD the Son even though Thomas acknowledged that God is in Jesus , that's true , but not the same as GOD THE SON that's heresy .
Thomas should have been chastised severely for referring to Jesus as his Lord and his God. But He wasn't, rather Jesus accepted his declaration. We should go above & beyond the doubts that Thomas had over the Lord's deity & accept Jesus for Who He is: the Word of the Father made flesh to become the Son of the Father.
But for those who have come out of Judaism & turned to Christ, how it must bring joy to the Lord's Heart to see their response. And also for each one of us 'gentiles' "who having not seen yet have believed" ( John 20:29).
