We must not forget that Jesus prayed for us.

    These are his very Words!!!

"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee.

Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." John 17:11 KJV

    Q&A "My glory"

Q: Prayer of Jesus establishes his glory is from everlasting to everlasting. Is it not the Word was with God and it was transferable?

A: We have the verse you have in mind. " Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."( John 17:24) Glory of the Word is that it is sound as well as it is a sign. Thy word as a sign is what we consider here. "thy word is truth." This information is the seed planted by the Sower. Jesus in his prayer refers to the son of perdition. Judas Iscariot was also among the twelve of whom Jesus says, "Those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled." The Law determined the everlasting covenant did not bar any man in the Man component. That the Scripture might be fulfilled" demonstrates it was Judas's choice whether to be sanctified by the word or not. It was written of him, "Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me."(Ps.41:9)

Judas in refusing Jesus refused God the Father. "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name" except for Judas who refused to be sanctified by the Word.

The covenant sets After our image" in order to establish the Father Son relationship. The Word was God establishes the truth. In refusing to be 'after our likeness' betrayed the Word made flesh. The sign tells it all. Judas Iscariot was like the nation of Israel. "He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God."( John 8:47) Satan is the father of lies, The same rule in 8:44 can be applied to Judas."(He) abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him." Glory of the Word is established by faith. "And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them." (17:10)

    Q&A "Touch me not"

Q: What was the significance in the risen Christ who allowed Thomas to examine his wound and not Mary?

A: In his resurrection he considered himself as one with his disciples of whom Jesus said, "I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word."( John 17:6) In terms of the word, they were of as one. When he says, 'they have kept the word' it meant that he did it on behalf of them, Simon Peter's denial notwithstanding.

Jesus told earlier that he was yet to ascend, "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."(20:17). May calls him teacher while 'my brethren' are those that God gave to him. He was yet to be glorified, and in his prayer he asks, "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do./And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was."(17:4-5)

    Q&A "I in Thee"

Q: Jesus asked his disciples 'whom say ye that I am" and it leads to the keys to the kingdom. Was the offer only limited to Simon Peter?

A: Not it was not. St Peter answered correctly but being first did not confer any particular advantages other than a certain gift and it came from his relation to the Father and not from their relation to him. The passage from the gospel reads thus: When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?/ And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets."(Matt.16:13-14) Jesus commends Peter fro his answer which came for from above. He is referring to the covenant. "Flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." He is blessed under the covenant and it was made manifest there. God the Father had given the men to him which we know from his prayer to his Father. "I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me." ( John 17:23) The disciples were to be made perfect as was in heaven. So the outpouring of the Spirit was a sign for them. "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."( John 14:20)

The everlasting covenant gave every believer in the Man component a certain volume which was absolutely determined by the Law of the Spirit. "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."(Ro.8:11) His death and resurrection "made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light." Col.1:12)

His gifts are " for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man," (Ep.4:10-16)

    Hey Oseas,

Thanks again for your thoughtful reply! I really appreciate the depth of your insights and your commitment to finding the Truth.

    1. Earth's Age:

I totally get your skepticism about both the 6,000-year and 4.54 billion-year views. Science uses methods like radiometric dating to estimate the Earth's age, but it's always evolving. On the other hand, religious interpretations vary, with some seeing the creation story as symbolic. I think science explains "how" things work, while religion covers the "why."

    2. Isaiah 40:21-22 - The Circle of the Earth:

You mentioned Isaiah saying God "sits upon the circle of the earth." Whether that's literal or poetic, the key takeaway for me is that God's perspective is way bigger than ours-like we're tiny grasshoppers in comparison.

    3. John 17:4-5 - Jesus' Existence Before Creation:

Jesus' prayer about being glorified with the Father before the world began highlights His eternal nature. He was there from the start, making everything through Him ( John 1:3). It's a powerful reminder of His divine role in creation.

    4. John 1:18 - No One Has Seen God:

This verse points to Jesus as the way we understand God. Even though no one has seen God, Jesus, who is one with the Father, makes Him known to us. It shows how Jesus bridges the gap between us and the divine.

    5. The Search for Truth:

I agree with you that Truth is the most important thing. When Pilate asked "What is truth?" ( John 18:38), Jesus answered it in John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life." For me, that's the ultimate truth-everything else helps us get closer to understanding that.

Thanks again for the great discussion! I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts.

    John (Part 35):

John 17:24 - Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Father, I will, (literally I wish), I desire, that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; in order that they may behold my glory. And the word "behold" is the word view, to actually see the very substance and nature and character of God Himself.

John 18:1 - When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.

It says, when Jesus had spoken these words, and that would be everything in Chapters 13 through 17 ending off with the prayer.

But when Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth (or went out) with His disciples over the brook Cedron. This would be the Kidron Valley right between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives.

It's called the Brook Kidron (or Cedron) because it flows in the winter time, and that's what the word "brook" means in Greek. It means winter flow. So, over the brook Cedron, where there was a garden. And this is at the foot or the base of the Mount of Olives, into which He entered, and His disciples. This is the place where Jesus spent many of his evenings with the disciples.

John 18:2 - And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.

And Judas also, which betrayed Him. And in the Greek text, the word "betrayed" is a Present Participle, the one who is in the process of betraying Him. He knew the place: Judas had gone there many times before with Jesus and the disciples.

For Jesus often times resorted (or gathered) there with his disciples.

So, He knew that Judas had gone out. He's finished instructing the disciples. So, He goes to the garden where Judas knows where to find Him.

    John (Part 34):

    John 17:20 - Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Neither pray I for these alone, (or only), but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; Wow! So, I am not just praying for these that I have right here that the Father's given to me, but also for those who are going to believe, not on me, but INTO me.

That is the literal translation. In the Greek, what it shows is activity. The activity is surrender, not believe about Him, but believe INTO Him, giving my trust over to Him, surrender!

But look at the instrument by which we believe. We believe into Christ through their word. That is what we are doing right now. We have the word of the apostles that Jesus prayed for, so that through their word, God might reach us with their witness and with their testimony.

John 17:22 - And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given to them; (That's the substance, the person), that they may be one, even as we are one:

Interesting, the word "one" in the Greek is a Neuter. So, it's not one in person, but one in function.

John 17:23 - I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

The word perfect is the word complete, and it is a Perfect Tense which means it is a condition. We are complete in Christ. That's why at the beginning of Ephesians Chapter 4, it talks about (keeping) the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace.

We already have unity! You hear people preaching today talking about "We need to work hard at the unity." No, we already have it. If you have Christ, and I have Christ, we have unity! The problem is that we need to be sensitive to what we're doing that is interfering with that. We already have it. We don't create it!

    John (Part 33):

John 17:12 - While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

While I was with them in the world, I was keeping them. Notice the literal translation. When He asked the Father in Verse 11 to keep, that's the word TEREO. "Father, guard them from outside influences taking them away from me!" In Verse 12, He says I was keeping them, (Imperfect Tense) showing continuous activity in the past. So, While I was with them, I was keeping them in thy name: those that thou gavest to me.

Then He says, I have kept, and here is a different word, PHULASO. Jesus said I guarded them so that they wouldn't get away from me, and I guarded so that no influences would come and take them away from me, and none of them is lost, not one, except the son of perdition; and perdition means destruction.

John 17:13 - And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

In the Greek, the word "my" in this verse is not the normal word for my. This is a Possessive Adjective, "mine joy." That is how it is literally translated. If he gives me His joy, He gives me Himself! He says it is mine. It is not yours, but I want you to be filled with it, (mine joy), the joy that is mine. And I mentioned this before, but the word joy means satisfaction.

John 17:17 - Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Sanctify them through thy truth: literally in Thy truth, thy word is truth. Wow, that's a command! Sanctify them, in your truth.

The word "sanctify" means to set apart, to separate. It comes from the word HAGIOS. When the Holy Spirit, and the word "holy" which also comes from the same word (HAGIOS) means separate, or set apart, but when the Holy Spirit comes into my life, my life is said to then be set apart for Christ. It is called sanctification.

    John (Part 32):

John 16:27 - For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Interesting, because that is not the word AGAPE. And this is one of the few times that Jesus used the word PHILEO to talk about His relationship with the Father and the Father's relationship with us. Both times, it is PHILEO.

For the Father himself loves you, PHILEO (family love), because you have loved me (Perfect Tense PHILEO), family love. Remember, He told them before I called you friends. We are family now. We are not rabbi and student, and you have believed that I came out from God.

John 16:31 - Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

Interesting, the word "now" doesn't mean now at the present time. It means "up till now." It is the word ARTI. Have you believed up till now?

John 17:2 - As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

First of all, the Son is glorified in the Father, and the Father is glorified in the Son, and that the Father has given to the Son authority "over" all flesh.

Literally, in the Greek text, He has given Him authority OF all flesh. There is no word "over!" It is a Genitive Case which shows possession. The Son has been given authority by the Father to possess all flesh. Every human being is under the authority of Christ. John Chapter 5 tells us that the Father has transferred all authority to the Son. We are to honor the Son equally as we honor the Father.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. ( John 17:9).

Presumption is a dangerous thing. This verse along with much text in the chapters comprising the book of John in particular make it quite clear there is indeed a subsection of all men that are called and chosen by God; otherwise defined as "Predestination". Having discussed this book in regard to that subject in some detail a couple years back I won't confine this posting to corner everyone into a boxing match as to the whole 5 Point Calvin idea. I will go back to what is another clear teaching from scripture that His sheep hear His voice and they bear fruit that indicates they possess true faith.

The "come as you are" motif that is commonplace in the "seeker friendly church" is at best only half right. Upon entering a true Spirit filled fellowship the John 16:8 convicting power of the Spirit should begin to affect someone; for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. God in order to save anyone must provide a change of heart and a person must repent. There is much argument these days about this statement; but if we look at the redemption concept such as with Ruth and the kinsman-redeemer we understand the transaction idea. Christ takes our sin and through the atonement forgives sins and His righteousness is transferred to us. The WORLD at large is part of a system ruled by Satan as we are all enemies of God prior to our conversion. Understanding a proper concept of what the TRUE love of God is means that men must understand in no uncertain terms that they must fall o the Rock of Christ lest they be crushed by it (See Luke 20:18). Renouncing our sin means that we turn from what we used to do and trust in Christ to change or sanctify us. It means that our love for the world; flesh and the Devil is replaced by love for Christ. Therefore the god of this world must be rejected; any turning back ensnares us once again.

LAST POSTING ON THE WHO GOD IS

What I do think of is that "Z' is the end of the alphabet, the last letter, the terminus or desired end.

In Rev..22:13; Jesus identifies Himself as such: the Alpha and Omega (first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.

His word choice identifies Him with YHWH in the OT as in Isaiah 4::4; 44:6; 48:12

So, being the Beginning (A) and the Last (Z) God caused the beginning and completion of all the work of God in history. History belongs to Him and so does the Universe and all that He has made. Jesus' identification in these terms in Revelation tell us that He is the terminus of all revelation, history, and purpose in Creation.

All things were made by Him and through Him and for Him.

He is the first cause of all was created and creation was made to the end of glorifying God in Christ Jesus, our Lord and God, Savior and King, our all in all.

Here I come to the end of these postings on the attributes of God. I must say that I have learned a great deal more about God and am more in awe of Him than ever before.

He is Great beyond measure and we are so blessed to have His inspired Word of revelation of Himself for us to learn from.

I am grateful for the work of the Holy Spirit in me in this endeavor to delve into something so important and something not to be trivialized, rather to glorify God in the undertaking.

This is eternal life, that they might know thee, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent. John 17:3

This is the desired end for all the elect.

    Re.20:13-14 "Second death"

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

In the beginning was the Word, of which the Law represents the will of God. the world unseen. The second death is set according to the works, which is the world made to appear so the everlasting covenant refers the blessings that are conferred on man in the Word made flesh. God has his own way of entering faith so works is in context of the eternal Word and the Man to whom God has entrusted. " No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."( John 6:44) 'After our likeness' sets Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd while the Lord God is 'my shepherd'. The unseen emblem of the slain Lamb is made to appear so the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ fulfilling the will of his Father. (" I kept them in thy name,"- John 17:12). This mode of inversion shall continue so second death spells out how our 'works' are evidence, and this body of evidence has been translated into 'works'. Yes, dear brethren do not let false teacher deprive of your prize by their heresies, "And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith./But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. "(2 The.3:2-3). Abiding in Christ and as a branch bringing forth fruits are also part of the evidence.

God commanded Adam, "for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."(Ge.2:17) The Spirit refers to his physical death (Ge.5:5) Second death refers to the unseen world of his soul and he also shall be judged according to the book of life. "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."(v.17). This fire is unquenchable. "For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out."(Pr.24:20). Only the blessed are in the Book of Remembrance. (Mal.3:16)

    Ro.8:29-30 "God is good" (1 of 2)

The word "good" as with "absolutely" are two words in my opinion, the most abused simply because the ungodly use them to mean something else. 'Every home with a carport' was a sign of the good times but now anyone with an axe to grind, simply use one to plough into an unsuspecting crowd crowd, to cause untold damages.God alone is good and absolute but without trusting Him what the godless is what we get. Law of the Spirit use the word of God with a purpose. It is Person specific. Consider this verse."For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."(v.29). God decrees a day,'Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee./Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance." (Ps.2:7-8) If the Son asks 'the heathen' will He not give him just that? The everlasting covenant with which the Bible begins is just that. Without believing it the imposter church has completely disrupted the Age of Apostles with their travesty of 'new norms' and the Christian world is solely to blame if a Christian father gives his son for glock when he asks one. the boy already has been bitten by the 'wannahaves' as influencers. "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?(Matt.7:11) Many have problem to understand the idea of predestination. They forget the Word made flesh is the same yesterday, today and forever'. The omnipotent God foreknows those who are His. Jesus asked of Him and given them for his inheritance. I do not find any impossibility here. Jesus makes it clear," For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me."( John 17:8)

Do we have to look in the mirror to see how closer we conform?

Having I read your post about Genesis 3, I remained in my meditation and thinking there was the beginning of the world in which we live today. All began with the dialogue between the Devil and the woman, and from a heavenly environment in Eden to a new environment that was now beginning to exist, an exclusively evil environment, now a demonic environment, starting with Cain, and Abel was the first victim- Matthew 23:33-35 combined with John 8:44.

From then until today around 6000 years have passed, and the world of the Devil we are seeing turned to a gigantic and complex, and satanic structure in every sense as we can see, dominating the minds of the inhabitants of the Earth as a whole as he dominated he mind of Cain, very terrible, the ONLY exception are the chosen ones of GOD, they have believed in JESUS- John 17:1-12, and according to the Ephesians 1:3-8, among many biblical references.

But our Lord JESUS assured: Matthew 5:5- Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. This assertion of our Lord JESUS, combined with Revelation 11:15-18 and Revelation 12 as a whole, give us what will happen now, from now on, even now in the turn from the sixth to the seventh Day, seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day, or seventh and last millennium.

    GOD BLESS

    Ro.8:2 "Life"

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

Every term can create a stream of associations for example law of the Spirit of life connect with this verse:"In him was life; and the life was the light of men." It sets its course to the light of Lamb. This light is what the law of the Spirit offers to whosoever takes its follows its lead. This is what freedom means. On the other law of sin as we have seen may be a covering cherub can wear it but the iniquity the spirit of pride breeds children of wrath, the route Judas Iscariot took. Jesus refers to him as the son pf perdition ( John 17:12) 'That the scripture might be fulfilled'' at the end of this prayer tells God had called Judas and also entrusted him under his watch. Judas had responsibility to choose life. He had free will. But in denying his deity he chose the law of sin. Thus he made hiself the servant to sin.

The house with seven pillars are thus built up where Jesus Christ of God has become wisdom (1 Co.1:30) The stone laid creates pillars as the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus build us up. " Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God," The message to church in Philadelphia is about life and a new name fitting with the new heaven and new earth. Thus the entire Bible is fitted within two book ends: The House with seven pillars and 'the temple of my God.'

John 17:17 "Thy word is truth" (2 of 3)

Kingdom of God has a foundation."Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity."(2 Ti.2:19).So God has a word for man, "Wherefore hear the word of the Lord," This foundation is laid on a stone, "Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation:" It is sure foundation and it upon which Wisdom has built her house with seven pillars. (Is.28:14,16;Pr.9:1) In token of this foundation we have various precious stones to indicate the throne of God and we see them in the visions of Ezekiel and of John. Apart from these we have one that marks the throne of the Lamb.

"And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb." These are set in precious stones to be seen as the breastplate of the high priest was to be seen for glory and beauty. "And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl."(21:21) This pearl establishes the glory of the Son who as the writer to the Hebrews says, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."(He.1:3) The word of God created this city on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection gives out the radiance. "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."(Re.21:23-24) This glory sets the hyphenated thrones as one. The throne of God signifies Power and glory which is what our prayer carries."For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

    Re.5:1 "The right hand" (1 of 2)

"And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals."

Three things are associated with the Son who is always tagged as the right hand in context of God who is One. The hand with which is good and the left hand in common usage is qualified as maladroit. Can we apply it to God? Oh no. The Spirit uses the right hand figuratively in order to define the divine Will in fulfilment. "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." ( Mark 10:18).So we need see his ministry as deity and humanity is the aspect of perfecting what his Father has willed. "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."( John 8:29) Before Pilate he confesses the host of angels at his disposal."Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?" In his emptying his humanity was for delivering all whom his Father had left to his charge. So he would rather perfect with one sacrifice all those who were called.( John 17:12; He.10:14)

The book, the seven seals and the contents that it holds are three clues in which significance of their Association and with man, and also life as holiness, the name are inextricably bound.

"When he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." Jesus Christ as the Son has his seat. "and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." There are other feature we need consider, firstly "a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald."and the Word both sound as well as sign, "And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God."(Re.4:1-5) Body Spirit and the soul is signified in v.5:6

Luke 1:34-35 "The word of his power"

"Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?"

The word of God before the worlds began called and what is the word? it sanctifies whosoever receives it in faith. He is a chosen vessel when he responds to it. Zechariah had a problem. His reasonable mind rebelled against the idea.He asked the angel,"Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years." (1:18) He was rebelling against the truth. Rational faculties are part of the baggage, the flesh and blood making up a form, a body formed of the dust of the ground and has no life when it is dissolved. It is dust to dust and no one shall know the difference. So reason is a wet noodle that cannot make a stand against what God has willed. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."( John 17:17)

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Overshadow is a term the Spirit uses so the shadow is not merely what the source of lights casts but also is in the sense of similitude. "After our likeness" relates to the Word which was God and in the beginning was with God. Having made Jesus Christ as 'only begotten Son, he tells of his inheritance, which has its memorial as the four and twenty elders before the throne. So according to the principle of Similitude he has called saints 'after our likeness'. What is the role of Jesus Christ? He is the firstborn of all creation.

Gabriel as an angel is sent to Mary who is a virgin as the 144,000 standing with the Lamb on Mt. Sion are called.(Re.14:1-3) The terms refers to the word sanctifying the person thus chosen before the foundation of the world. "For with God nothing shall be impossible."(1:35) Matt.3:9

Yes, "sin came into the world through one man (the MAN of sin, son of perdition- John 17:12 combined with 2Thessalonians 2:3&8-9) and death through sin"- Romans 5:12.

Great Scriptures Everett that you have given to clearly show the the Nature of the Triune God & the Deity of Christ Who has come forth from (Gk. Ek: to come out of - not a separate a creation) the Father. If I might include these others in support of your list: Mark 2:5-7; John 16:28; John 17:5; John 20:27,28; Philippians 2:5-8. To deny these Scriptures, distorts the whole Character of God and dilutes His great sacrificing Love reaching out to & imploring sinful men to turn from sin unto the Love of God in Christ. We need to take all Scriptures into account or else our view will be lop-sided & erroneous. GBU.

    John 17:11 "Thy Name"

"Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are."

We shall accept Holiness as all-inclusive name for 'thine own name" which is on the basis "The Word was God." Virgin Mary stirred by the Spirit defines His name, "Holy is his name." He revealed to Moses, "I am that I am". ( Luke 1:49;Ex.3:14). God gives his own name so the body, the church may be one, "As we are". This pattern explains God was with the Word.

Principle of Similitude sets the realities of heaven and of the earth on a single standard which is the Word become flesh. This is designated as the Man component in whom whosoever heard the call and received Jesus Christ as his Saviour is an associate. This principle is stated in Matt.10:40. " He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me."

In the Parable of the Leaven Jesus sent the Word which spreads from one end of the heaven to another. The Parable is about the kingdom of heaven. "The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened." (Matt.13:33) The everlasting gospel works Up and Down and also Across.

God sent his Word which is sound as well as a sign. So in Lucan Gospel we have the Association,"The Word was with God" stated differently,"He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me."( Luke 10:16)

Evangelist Matthew has the charge given to 12 disciples while St Luke gives us Seventy other disciples. Matthew is referring to the Word become flesh and himself as the Gospel of Christ. St Luke is giving us instead the Word which 'in the beginning' was with God. In both cases the great commission reconciles Up and Down and Across by the risen Christ. "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth..../and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."(Matt.28:18-20)

    John 17:17 "Thy truth"

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

The Word is God and Jesus in his prayer makes clear what Us and Them entailed. Ministry of Jesus began on the human level where the twelve received him as the Word made flesh."They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." In v.20 Jesus refers to a larger group,"also which shall believe on me through their word." In short 'Thy word' made them Us and the world that refused were enemies to truth. In the beginning was the Word and it made the two groups as predestinated fill in their respective worlds. It is thus the King in the Parable of Jesus dismissed the goats on the left side. " Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"(Matt.25:41). The word is truth because the Word was God and it shall be thus from everlasting to everlasting.

God created man "after our likeness' sets the pattern or the template where Jesus Christ as the Man is 'only begotten' because of the Word. In short what makes Us is as the v.21 tells, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us." Christ was a sign and there cannot be any other sign. The Pharisees who sought a sign belonged to a wicked and adulterous generation. Sign of the times belongs to Them because for them wealth is a social symbol and the only sign on which their world is built up. "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."(1 Co.3:11) Despite of this the imposter churches 'prosperity theology' and other signs. Jesus said," and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas."(Matt.12:39) This sign referred to the death and resurrection of Jesus. What does the sign make Jonah? A double for the Son is it not. Why man was created 'after our likeness'? Moses, Elijah Elijah, David all serve after our likeness. Either we belong to Us or them. No exception.

Thanks again brother Ronald, and apologies for the late reply - had a busy day. On the Ignatius reference, my quote was the shortened version, particularly to highlight the first part, "For our God, Jesus Christ..", showing his understanding of Who Jesus is. And I won't dispute the rest of the quote, as I hadn't made a note of it in my research some time ago.

To John 17:5. That's an interesting understanding of this verse. I'm sorry Ronald, I started writing out a very detailed response to what you had written, trying desperately to align your understanding with what I was reading in the verse, but unfortunately failed at every attempt to make sense of it. Honestly, I kept reading & re-reading what you presented, but couldn't reconstruct the verse to fit what you believe, and felt that I would have messed my response up badly making it nonsense and unintelligible. So apologies for that and I will have to leave it there & thanks for your time & trouble to give your explanation of that verse. Blessings.

Re.19: 17 "The Supper of the Great God." (1 of 2)

The Supper is how the Spirit describes the blessing that shall be conferred on whosoever called in his Son. Jesus refers it to the knock on the door and "if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Re.3:20). Jesus also referred it to a supper on a grand scale where "There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out."(Luke13:38). The outer darkness to which they are thrown into is not our present concern but all those that are invited. (Matt.8:12)

In the everlasting covenant God entrusts the man with the charge: "And have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." ( Ge. 1:28). They are represented in heaven as memorial and the four beasts as such cover blessings of the covenant with Man as theirs as well. In short, man's stewardship is as solemn as Jesus in his prayer tells his Father,"While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition."( John 17:12,17). He also prays, "Sanctify them, Thy word is truth." The word is sound as well as sign. The slain Lamb before the worlds began is a sign. For this reason every animal sacrifice is in commemoration of the last Adam. So God commands Moses, "Your lamb shall be without blemish."(Ex.12:5)

God demands a sacrifice from Abraham and he does as exactly as he was asked. "And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away."(Ge.15:11) That was a supper for Great God from whom all the families in earth shall be blessed. He was after our likeness'

Because of sin of one man animal sacrifice was instituted by commandment as He did not spare His own So..

"And all the fowls were filled with their flesh."(v.21)

    Hi Chris,

Thanks, brother, I sometimes do not explain my understanding in the best way, hey I'm old. Years ago, I studied some of the early church histories and I found some scholars have questions about the authenticity of their translations. I understand you believe in them and that is ok.

Just one thing on Ignatius CHAPTER XVIII it should read.

For our God, Jesus Christ was according to the appointment of God, conceived in the womb by Mary, of the seed of David, but by the Holy Ghost. He was born and baptized, that by His passion He might purify the water.

In John 1:10 by Him, the Greek word used is dia means through, on account of, and because of. The word made is the Greek word ginomai means to come into being, to happen, to become.

In Colossians 1:16-17 the Greek word en can mean in him, not by him, whether that changes anything or not.

I know we do not agree on this, but I will do my best to show how I see John 17:5. Like I have said before Jesus was the first thing in God's plan, everything was created in and through Jesus and what He would be. Jesus knew the glory of God's word from which came all things as we see in Genesis, God said, and it was.

When Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and filled with the Spirit without measure, he could see spiritual things unknown to any man. Some of God's servants did see into the future with just a glimpse, like Abraham, David, Moses, and others. Jesus could see and He knew the glory of God's creation and salvation plan.

Jesus knew who He was and was seeking this glory that was in God's plan before the world was to be his reward after all that he was sent to do was finished. In scripture declaring what is, even though it is not yet, simply because it is intended to be. If God intends it, it already is, even though it is not yet. Being from heaven is an expression meant to emphasize his sinless and holy state and show who sent him was God.

I hope this makes some sense.

    God bless brother,

    RLW

    Chris

Christ's death and resurrection destroyed the OLD and ushered in the NEW.

ALL flesh DIED on the cross of Christ, a new creation was resurrected, the image of Christ and his Father, the equal of Christ and his Father.

Isaiah 43:8 God does not share his glory with another, flesh and blood, they had to DIE, but he does bestow his glory on Christ; John 17:22 and we have been made ONE FLESH with Christ, by his resurrection, we are IN TRAVAIL of birth pains, waiting to be delivered into that PROMISE.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:6 Who being in the FORM of God, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL with God.

Christ is not THE ONE GOD, but by INHERITANCE, is EQUAL with his Father, the one God.

We share that EQUALITY with Christ, by DYING with Christ on his cross, and being raised with him as ONE FLESH.

If we are going to LIVE by the WORD of God (the sword), we have to DIE by the WORD of God (the sword), understand the NEW and DIE to the OLD.

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

We have the faith of Christ, we have the mind of Christ, we have the glory of Christ, we have the works of Christ, by inheritance.

2 Corinthians 3:18 And we ALL .... are CHANGED into the SAME IMAGE .....by the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 15:53 ..... this mortal MUST put on IMMORTALITY ....

1 Timothy 6:16 .... Christ ONLY hath IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light ....

Isaiah 63:9 And in all their affliction, he was afflicted, and the angel of HIS presence saved them ....

Colossians 1:27 ..... this mystery, hidden from the ages ..... Christ IN YOU ....

    God Bless You
