    Hello Omar,

You are asking the right question. People searching for meaning outside of God often come up empty. It's not about wealth, that's why so many famous celebrities are unstable and have alcohol and drug addictions. The wisest man in the Bible who was a wealthy king wrote about this exact subject. It is worth reading: Ecclesiastes 2

I believe the meaning of life is love and relationships. Relationships with God, family, friends, neighbors. Life is a test and God is testing our character and if we want to seek and follow Him. The greatest commandment in the Bible is Mark 12:30-31. The Bible is full of wisdom on how to live our life- like an instruction manual for a good, meaningful life.

In addition, people who help others often feel a great sense of fulfillment. Volunteering, helping neighbors, pursuing the betterment of others. Not everyone says thank you. Only 10% came back to thank Jesus for healing him. But this is a way to build 'treasure' in heaven instead of pursuing empty pursuits of this world, in my opinion. Matthew 6:20

Speak these out with confidence every day until they start building you up in your spirit. Memorize some.

Psalms 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I amwith thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

1 Peter 5:6-7 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalms 62:8 - Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Jesus keep this man close to you.

    Luke 18

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: AND COME AND FOLLOW ME.

    Comment by Mishael:

There's more, so read that chapter to get the full story.

You're not under any kind of judgment for having financial plans. You already know it's not giving you a sense of eternal security.

Only Jesus can give you what you seek. As you seek Him in Prayer, someday you will know His financial suggestions for you.

Having money is harder than not having it.

I find Jesus very willing to advise me who to give money to. It's like The Holy Spirit says this one or that one. I asked to win the lottery so I could give it to all the World feeding ministries....and I got silence on that. I still give to feeding ministries on a budget.

When I was a street evangelist, I bought McDonald's food coupons for the alcoholics in the street, or I took them to I-Hop. I made fresh sandwiches. I worked in a church feeding program, giving out boxes of food. People were always nice to me; told me lots of heartbreaking stories. Everybody in the streets know who Jesus is!

Don't feel bad about your past. Let Jesus be Lord over your money. Marriages get torpedo'd because of money. Your Partner will be The Lord Jesus. Listen to Him. Follow Him. It takes a lot of relationship to agree on everything: including money.

Read the New Testament and Gospels to really study what Jesus taught about money. What is His heart?

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in ME ye might have PEACE. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Note: this PEACE (from GOD & through JESUS) is assured too us by JESUS, never-the-less we allow ourselves to become wrongly-entangled with a false or man-made peace from such things as education, jobs, 401K, IRA, money, stuff, thereby not being mindful we selfishly become addictive to them and chase them many years to discover (some never discover) we wasted years of our life on things that will not matter nor value nothing when tested by GOD.

We are not yet in the great tribulation, but look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. ( Luke 21:28)

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." ( 2 Timothy 3:1-7)

Remember Jesus' words: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." ( John 16:33)

We can read the bible for ourselves with the guidance of the Spirit of truth . Some things in the bible are hard to understand, but generally with or without the guidance of the Holy Spirit our understanding is determined. The key is to have an ear for the truth and if we listen God will give us more truth . If we turn away from the truth we lose from getting more light . Never quit ! Go on seek the Lord and live ...

Dear one, my 1st instinct is to encourage you and also for you to encourage your daughter to know the same...God is on His throne. He is sovereign. NOTHING will happen to us, be it job loss, job gain, good health or sickness, anything, unless it is God's will. AND...if something is God's will, nothing will stop it from happening. I've grown to really understand that over the years and I tell you, knowing that has been such a huge weight lifted and such a tremendous source of comfort.

God wants us to have complete and unwavering faith & trust in Him. This is where we can find rest for our weary souls.

There is no rest to be found in the cares of this world, but take heart, for He has overcome the world. ( John 16:33 kjv)

We can also know that unlike what so many tv preachers keep trying to say, this life is filled with trials & tribulations. God's Word let's us know this life is filled with them, but it's from faith to faith that He makes us to stand.

In my own life, a constant reminder I also give myself is to know that things could always be worse. For example, the worst thing could be to be lost out there in this world without the knowledge of a loving & merciful God who has every awareness of all our troubles, for He has even numbered the hairs on our head ( Luke 12:7kjv)....and not even a sparrow falls to the ground without Him knowing ( Matthew 10:29 kjv).

What an incredible comfort that is! We face this world with God and His perfect plan...not for this life only, but for eternity!

As for the enemy of our souls...Jesus rebuked Satan, overcame the temptations while He was in the wilderness, by the Word of God.

(Matthew chapter 4 & Mark chapter 1 kjv)

    Hebrews 4:12 kjv

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Here is some scriptures to pencil in on the back page of your Bible:

    John 14:26

    John 15:26

    John 16:7

    John 14:6 Lamentations 1:16

Teacher, Advocate, Helper. Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. The Greek word is: paracletos (one who comes alongside to Help)

The thing some people miss is that the Holy Spirit is always close by. Even tho he's a Spirit with no visible body...trust me, He is beside you. Talk to Him. Study with Him. Be aware of His presence.

It's hard, but don't grieve him or quench Him. He is God, the Holy Spirit. He loves you more than anyone else you've ever known.

Sing to Him and soon you will hear His song singing in your heart. Anything that hurts in you, will be healed.

Luke 4;18-19 ( Isaiah 61:1). Jesus speaking about the Spirit of the Lord.

Gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit, that He imparts as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:31

One thing was hard for me to learn: walk beside the Holy Spirit, and don't run ahead of Him. :)

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord....

A LOT of wisdom is given in Proverbs. Also, David was a man after Gods own heart. It's good to study WHY.

    Hi Christy,

Fear can rob you of peace, but love overcomes fear. 1 John 4:18, John 16:33. So, perhaps a better solution to finding peace instead of worrying about it is to practice loving Jesus, loving others, and loving yourself, then trusting God with bringing peace to your heart. Love can be expressed through a variety of ways and actions. Being a blessing to others can bring joy to your life. Philippians 4:7-13. I think by expressing love you will find peace in your heart. May God bless you!

Just stand on the scriptures, God will take care of the rest, He will honour Your stand on His Word.

[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Find someone who will baptise you in the name of the Jesus Christ, if you haven't already.

Then you will not be tossed about by every ones opinions.

    John 16:13 KJV

[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

He will guide you into all truth.

    1 John 2:27 KJV

[27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

ye need not that any man teach you

There you go Willie, that's God's Word.

Stand on it, He promised it. Praise the Lord.

    Faith leads to obedience.

    John 15:7 KJV

[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

You want Him to settle this doubt, ask Him and believe Him when He said - it shall be done unto you.

God judged sin on The Cross of Jesus Christ. God is not judging sin today, IF He was, we would all be zapped every time we sin!

John 16:33 was Jesus talking TO ISRAEL. Not us. Israel was going to be scattered very soon at the stoning of Stephen.

Israel is the Bride. We are the Body Of Christ. Big Difference. Satan is the "god" of this world and he is having his way with man and religion!

Paul is the only one in The Word Of God, Romans through Philemon, that tells you what your doctrine is today for this Age of Grace and salvation by grace by believeing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

One day, The Body of Christ will be taken, and then God is going to resume His prophetic program with Israel, and The Tribulation will culminate with the 2nd Coming Of Jesus Christ so ISRAEL will believe in THEIR Messiah, then The Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ on this earth; The Kingdom God promised to Abraham, then into eternity.

Read Paul's letters to find out that all our sins are forgiven, past present and future just by believing The Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4 the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all by grace through faith, no works, no law, just what Jesus Christ did for US!

Two different programs. Israel and The Body of Christ. Paul tells us in 2 Tim 2:15 . . . Rightly Dividing The Word Of Truth; that WAY you know what is for ISRAEL and what is for The Body Of Christ.

Remember Jesus came for the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel ( Matthew 10:6) Jesus was a minister of the circumcision ( Romans 15:8) Jesus came in the flesh for Israel ( Romans 9:5).

One day, God is going to gather ALL, BOTH Israel and The Body Of Christ, in ONE!

    Ephesians 1:10

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are in earth; even in him.

Sam you are correct the Bible does not say anything about a female ruler.

There is a heresy running around that the Holy Spirit is female called the SHEkinah or the glory of God.

The word SHEkinah is nowhere in the Bible. So they claim God the Father and the Holy Spirit had a child the Son of God.

The King James clearly calls the Holy Spirit HE

John 16:13 Howbeit when HE he, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE he will guide you into all truth: for HE he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever HE he shall hear, that shall HE he speak: and HE he will shew you things to come.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, HE he shall testify of me:

My research as to where this female spirit thing comes from is those involved in the so called "Hebrew roots" movement that claims the King James Bible is mistranslated by pagan Greeks and is generally anti-Semitic in nature.

They are the ones pushing the Yeshua instead of Jesus name.

The main group that I can find with this SHEkinah thing is the Chabad Lubavitch group that claim they are practicing Judaism. Their main book is the Zohar, not the scriptures. The follow what is called Kabbalah which came from Babylon.

The Hollywood celebs, like Madonna, wear red strings to ward off evil spirits are into this stuff.

Look into this everyone I am not making this up. This is who many claim to be the chosen people.

Chabad Lubavitch Kabbalah followers are the ones wearing the black clothes with the curls of hair hanging down.

You've gone to far about my arguments, I've only qouting John 16:10 because Jesus said you can't see him no more but Paul suddenly saw him in his alleged vision on his way to Damascus....Now, in Acts 9:19-29 according to Paul he had preached at Damascus in the name of Jesus and he was with them (disciples) coming in and out at Jerusalem and continued in Acts 29:19-21 that he had shewed unto them of Damascus and at Jerusalem and throughout all the coast of Judea and to the Gentiles......and then contradicted by him in Galatians 1:15-23 it says " But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother...Can you see the lies of Paul now?...

    (Part 1 of 2)

    Yasser,

There is nothing in John Chapter 16 that describes any of the events that take place at Christ's second coming. I am not sure how you come to that conclusion. All throughout Chapter 16, and in fact, beginning at Chapter 15 Verse 26, Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit coming, not His second coming. He uses the word "Comforter" in Chapter 15, and then again in Chapter 16. This word comforter refers to the Holy Spirit coming, not Jesus' second coming. John 16:8 speaks of the comforter (Holy Spirit) coming.

In Verse 8, Jesus says "And when he is come, he will reprove, and it is literally the word convict. It is a judiciary term that means to present evidence to bring about conviction. That is what the Holy Spirit does. That is his ministry. He will convict the world of three things. He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Jesus is not talking about His second coming. He's talking about sending His Spirit.

You ask that "If Jesus has something to say then why he didn't tell his disciples before his ascension? Well, if you look at Verse 12, Jesus says "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. The word "cannot" is the word ability. You don't have the ability to bear what I'm about to tell you. And then you go down to Verse 13, and Jesus says, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Jesus is telling them that the Holy Spirit will reveal things that will later come. You see, Jesus knows our hearts. He knows what truth we can and cannot handle, and He only reveals to us the things He knows we are ready for. He knew that His disciples would not be able to handle what He had to say to them.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Isaiah 66 - 4 years ago
No, Paul is not guilty of lying. Everything Paul taught lines up with the teachings of Christ. There is no contradiction between Paul's teachings and the teachings of Christ. If you take John 16:10 by itself, I can see how you would come to your conclusion. Jesus said in Verse 10, I go to my Father, and you see me no more. But you can't stop there and use that as your basis of claiming Paul is lying! Jesus was telling them that He would be leaving (His ascension into heaven, shortly after His resurrection), and they would no longer see Him here physically.

But then you go down to Verse 16, and Jesus says, "A little while and ye shall not see me: and the term "a little while" means a short time of space. Jesus says, and again, a little while, and (ye shall see me), because I go to the Father. So what is He talking about there? A little while you won't see me, but then a little while after that you will see me? How do explain that one, because they're probably thinking "That doesn't make sense! We understand a little while you will not see me. You've been telling us that for three years. But now you are saying, in a little while and (you will see me) because I'm going to the Father. Well, if you are going away, how are we about ready to see you again?"

Verse 17 would show you that they didn't understand what Jesus was telling them. They were discussing amongst themselves what this meant, and Jesus knew that, as we're told in Verse 19. And then you go down to Verse 22, and Jesus says And ye now, therefore, have sorrow: but (I will see you again), and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Jesus is talking about His coming to them in the person of the Holy Spirit that He has been talking to them about since Chapter 14, where He says the Comforter will come to you, I will come to you, the Father and I will come to you, and we all will make our dwelling in you!

In John 16:10 Jesus himself said that after his ascension to heaven you cannot see him anymore, and he even warned us in Matthew not to believed if someone says that he is in the desert,....But once again here comes Paul saying that he saw Jesus on his way to Damascus, is Paul guilty of fabrication because of his lies?...
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on John 16 - 4 years ago
Jesse your points well taken and I feel the same exact way on preachers on TV. TV is filth and then for a couple of hours on Sunday they allow Jesus to be preached? I do not think so. Especially the big names on the airwaves are the ones I trust the least. Many churches are state incorporated 501 C 3 IRS approved tax exempt businesses, esp the larger denominations. They must agree to never teach against "public policy" to keep their tax exempt status. Things like legal abortion, sodomite marriage, etc you get the idea. So basically many churches are actually state chartered corporations with the name "church" in there somewhere. You can look this up with the Department of state (your states) division of corporations or businesses.

    Thanks Bob,

It just kinda sounded odd to me to have someone go to YouTube for answers when all the answers can be found in scripture. I'm not saying it's wrong to go there if that's what someone chooses to do, and it's not my place to do so. It's just that for myself personally, I am not sure that I can trust YouTube as a reliable source of truth. There probably are some good teachers with YouTube channels, no doubt. I'm just hesitant to go there I guess.

You do make a great point about getting kicked off for preaching truth. We see a lot of that today, and it's getting worse. I'm not too sure how much longer we will have our freedom as believers. I guess that's a normal response to the truth in an unbelieving world. Sometimes we as believers get offended when we are witnessing the truth to someone and they reject us. But doesn't Paul even say that even when they reject, that is a victory? When I was a new believer, I used to get upset when I would try and share Christ and someone would reject what I shared. But not I realize they aren't rejecting me, they're rejecting Christ. There's victory either way, whether they receive Him or reject Him, because Christ only wants those who are drawn to Him by the Father, not those who are coming for the wrong reason. Well, it's late for me so I'm signing out. Blessings in Christ!

Jesse there are some good channels on youtube, not many, but a few. Many true teachers get kicked off tube for preaching truth. the great majority of tube channels are of the devil it seems.

Yes, thanks Bob for pointing that out. Matthew 24:2 was fulfilled, not partly, but completely, when Titus came in and destroyed the temple in 70 A.D. I guess it would have been more correct for me to say that at the time Matthew was written (60's A.D) everything was written as future events that had not yet been fulfilled, including Verse 2, the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D. If the question had been asked if all these things were to be future events when Matthew was written, the answer would have been yes. If it was asked if any of the things in this chapter already have happened, I would have given a different response. But just looking at the question, it seemed like a general open-ended question. If you notice, I never mentioned Verse 2 at all. I started from Verse 4 and went from there, and those are future events.

Youtube? Is that a good source to get bible truth from?

    M Newsom,

Matthew Chapter 24 is dealing with a future event known as the Tribulation Period. This will be a 7 year period. It is broken up into three sections: Verses 4-14 deal with the first 3-1/2 years, known as "The pains of birth." Verse 15 is known as "The pivotal point" where the antichrist steps in and takes over the temple. And then Verses 16-28 deal with the last 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period. The last 3-1/2 years is known as the "Great Tribulation," a time when God's wrath will be poured out on a wicked and unbelieving earth.

And then from Verse 29 to Verse 31, we have the promise of Christ's coming. At His second coming, He is going to gather together, His elect, that would be the Jews, from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other, north, south, east, and west. That's why Romans 11:26 tells us that when Christ returns, all Israel will be saved. When Christ comes at His second coming, those Jews on the earth will be saved, approximately one-third of them that began the tribulation period.

So Matthew 24: chapter is the past, present, future. Sometimes you can read and still don't understand. Thanks I would like to stay connect with this site. Blessing

Matthew 24:2 was partly fulfilled in 70 AD when Rome destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and Matthew 24:30 is yet to happen, so it is future. saying all Matthew 24 is past or all is future is wrong. Oftentimes there is a partial fulfillment of Bible prophecy and then a future complete fulfillment. You could hit youtube search for End Times Matthew 24 Revealed

or something along those lines. I hope that helps.
