    Hi Jason,

Thanks for sharing, may you find your answers in Jesus Christ alone!

It seems to me that this statement, attributed to Jesus, is in conflict with his spiritual teachings. Behaving in a compassionate and loving way toward others, avoiding accumulation of wealth and respecting other living things should be the focus.

How do I feel about John 14:15? "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Some of the Greek texts, instead of a command, it is the Future Tense. If you love me, YOU WILL keep my commandments. Isn't that interesting? Everything in our relationship with Jesus Christ is based on love. I already said this, but I'll say it again. We make decisions based on who and what we love the most. When I have to make a decision between two things, it's which one I prefer, like, or love. Sometimes we have to decide between studying the word, or going to some activity we really love. We will make decisions on who we love the most and what we love the most. Jesus says if you love me, and in the Greek text, it is a Third Class Condition yet fulfilled, meaning if you love me YOU WILL keep my commandments. Period! Jesus is not giving us a challenge to prove our love for Him. He's giving us a statement of fact, YOU WILL! The reason we don't obey Him is because we love something/someone else more. More to come!

How do I feel about James 2:17-26? If we are talking about faith without works is a dead faith, then I totally agree. But to understand what it means, you have to have an understanding of what the bible means by faith. Please give me your definition of faith. You and I cannot produce the faith the bible speaks of. All we can produce is flesh. The faith the bible speaks of is spiritual faith. Only God's Spirit can produce spiritual faith ( Galatians 5:22). The works that come from us come from the persuasion of God's Spirit persuading us to do those things. But it is His work, not ours. He gets all the glory. ( Ephesians 2:8-9).

Again, due to space, I'll answer your other questions on John 14:15, Luke 12:9, and Romans 12:2 next.

The Apostles creed (I believe) is not in the Bible. The Vatican wants us to believe they were responsible for it.

The Greek churches as well as Rome hammered out the Creeds.

    Part 3 NICENE CREED:

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

    [ John 15:26, John 16:13, John 14:26]

And I believe one holy catholic (catholic means universal, not Rome)

    and apostolic Church.

    [ Ephesians 4:5]

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

    [ Acts 19:4, Acts 22:16, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Mark 1:8, John 11:25, 1 Peter 1:3, Revelation 20:6]

John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

John 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

    1 Timothy 6:18-19 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

    2 Timothy 3:17

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Hi Jesse, is your position that Christians never commit blasphemy of the holy spirit? or that they are incapable to? or they don't have the freewill to?

The Bible says even angels in heaven sinned, because they too have freewill in heaven. Humans have the same freewill, and Christians have the same freewill, do they not? Unfortunately some Christians have turned to evil and denounced faith in Jesus and committed blasphemy of the holy spirit, do you recognize this? Judas did that.

What is your reason for living life as a Christian or trying to be obedient to Jesus, if it has nothing to do with going to heaven?

Hebrews 10:26 You said doesn't refer to salvation, except it does. Have you read the whole chapter? How do you feel about James 2:17-26 or John 14:15, or Luke 12:9?

Many verses say Christians are to be obedient, but are you saying obedience or transforming isn't needed to enter heaven? Do you think there's no downside to Christians following the world of sin? Romans 12:2
  • Adam - In Reply on John 5:4 - 4 years ago
Hello, the Bible refutes that with these 2 verses and more. A Christian who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit clearly isn't forgiven and won't go to heaven, because that's what Jesus said. He warned Christians about this in the Bible: Mark 3:28-30. Hebrews 10:26. How can anyone claim that a Christian who deliberately turns their back on God and permanently denounces Jesus is still saved? It seems that Jesus's own words would have to be ignored to come to such a conclusion. John 14:15. Why would Jesus tell his Christian followers to obey Him if they were already saved and if it made no difference if they obeyed or not? Why does this Matthew 7:21 reference say also to obey if you don't have to? Clearly these verses paint a different picture than the one satan is painting trying to convince Christians that its ok to disobey and sin all you want with no consequence. One of these beliefs is true and the other is false. Satan is the father of lies and may be behind one of them- which is more likely, that satan is deceiving Christians into being unnecessarily obedient, or that he's deceiving Christians into believing it's ok to be disobedient?

If you love Jesus, obey His commandments. John 14:15 If you don't obey His commandments then you don't love Jesus. If you don't love and follow Jesus you won't be with Him in heaven for eternity. It's pretty simple. You were given the freewill to choose and many will not chose the narrow path, but will believe satan's deception that it's ok to do evil, that you don't need to try or make effort to do anything good, etc. Matthew 7:22-23

"Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded."

    2 Chronicles 15:7 (KJV)

Keep on keeping on. Faith is living by Faith in Father God and Christ's Tough-LOVE for you, and not be sight. Even though you may feel weak and unrewarded by Father God and you may be walking through the valley of the SHADOW of death ( Psalms 23:4), but know that SHADOWS disappear when THE SON SHINES IN!!! You are Rewarded. Focus on God and Christ in You!!! Christ says in John 14:18 "I will NOT leave you comfortless: I Will Come To You [in You NOW!!!]." Hallelujah!!! Amen

    Micah 6:8

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

    John 14:6

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

New Testament Scripture, "If you love Me, keep my Commandments" ( John 14:15); in these types of discussions, in general, why aren't the two Great Commandments also mentioned since they are mentioned in the NT also? Getting tired, Are the 10 commandments part of the Mosaic Law and if so, then one must keep the whole law, true? If one lets God empower them to keep the two Great Commandments, will it cause them to obey the Ten Commandments also?

Satan is the father of lies and he likes to deceive Christians into thinking they don't have to stop sinning, that they can stay in the world and partake of its evil without consequence, because, hey, 'once saved, always saved'. But is that true? Which circumstance is satan more likely behind: that he deceives Christians into avoiding sin and being stronger followers of Jesus than they need to be, or that he deceives Christians into believing their sin doesn't matter and they can enjoy unlimited sinning without consequence? Obviously the latter is the one satan uses to deceive and we hear this even preached in churches. Jesus himself said otherwise: John 14:15

See John 9:1-3. Christ Jesus answers this question here. See John 14:12. The "works" spoken here are demonstrations of healing done with Love and Truth through Spirit. He never used anything when he healed but God's power. If you are a believer, than you are Christ Jesus' disciple too, also written in the Scriptures. Romans chapter 8 is helpful. The Bible uses symbols so everyone can understand it from different languages at their own pace. The Christ viewed man with Love, he saw no imperfection in them. He saw man as in Gen. 1:26. God is Love, good. There is no fear. I hope this answers your question.

Hi Benji, I'd like to challenge your OSAS belief with what Jesus himself said in John 14:15. Do you think Jesus was being bad and legalistic by saying to keep his commandments? If a Christian is already saved and doesn't have to keep his commandments then what incentive is there to? Is there any negative consequence whatsoever if a Christian mass murders people or worships satan or does any number of despicable things? If you claim he's not a real Christian, no, he is. I know people who are 100% absolutely Christians and some turn to denounce Jesus and do horrible things. They were Christians. If all you do is believe to be saved, do you believe Hitler and most people on earth are saved?

IMO does not mean earn your way, only try to do the best you can according to his commandnents,& a willingness to obey. Not striving for boasymtung, but with a humbled heart, wanting to do the right thing g.We know we are not & will not be perfect except thru Hesus Christ. He also said in his last words on the cross. It Is Finished. That means he paid it all.W ed cannot outdo or do better. There is no more said rifice.Ehen we are his sheep, his followers,& believers,we wish to,& have a yearning to do his commandments. But we are saved by AMAZING GRACE.It is not earned. We are called by our spirit,& freely given his eternal love.

Revelation Chapter 6: 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the SOULS (not bodies) souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
These souls are with the Lord under the altar of God.
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Those in Christ go to be with the Lord when they die awaiting new bodies. Those not in Christ, well they go to the other place....
  • Dawn R Cooper - In Reply on John 14:2 - 4 years ago
Nope it pertained to the disciples. Everyone will be judged. How can you be in heaven before judgement day? Then be judged and get kicked out? AMD hiw dies a human get to say how wonderful another human is? They could have been really crappy on the inside that's why we all still gotta be judged m the first death and the second death. It's all in there.
  • Dawn R Cooper - In Reply on John 14:2 - 4 years ago
He was speaking to his disciples not us. Raju are on heaven possibly bit we must all be judged first. It says so in countless scriptures.old and mee testament. When we die we go back t ok the ground and await the second coming. If every one just went straight to heaven because man thought they where good people, what's the point? Jesus himself said the dead no nothing. As if they were asleep!! Thays Jesus saying that not me!! Gotta wait for the resurrection to see where you're truly going! Heaven, hell or the new earth. Says it right on the bible, the meek shall inherit the earth. So we dont just magically die and wake up in heaven! There would be on use for judgement.
  • Victor on Romans 3 - 4 years ago
Bob Hilt you are right. Check this out; Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel." Notice he didn't say God's gospel. HIS gospel? Acts 16:28-31, Paul has the opportunity to tell this man what it takes to be save. Luke 18:18-25. Jesus has the opportunity to tell this man. Hey wait until they kill me and believe on my blood and you shall be save. Paul teaching is difference from Jesus Christ. God greater then Jesus! St John 14:28 Rom 8:11and St John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing- Rev22:12-14 St John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do." Psalm 72:17-18 Read and compare. Ty

Let's not leave out the fact Jesus bore the sins of all humanity, so when he died and rose from the grave, our sins remained in the grave. In order for Jesus to intercede and redeem us, he had to live the life of man and overcome sin, that through his blood and sacrifice, he is the only one that is able to save us. "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the father but by me." John 14:6 - This is why we pray to God "In the name of Jesus". I pray you gain understanding, and BELIEVE on him.

I took a bad turn last year and my wife left me after 36 years. Her name is Vonnie.
To say I love her simply doesn't say how much I really do love her. I want prayer for us both and I'm standing on Gods word. John 14:13 says ask anything in my name and I will do it, for it brings glory to the father. Yes, ask anything...I'm walking each day in his light so that these filthy I wear so that love brings us to a place and our marriage completely restored. I can't fix this. I must confess that I fell back into drinking over a time that only I can be held responsible. I serve a mighty God who knows all this and i can never be the man Without her. Amen
