Thank you for your response, I just found your reply. For some reason it wasn't in my replys. I will check back on this thread again just incase you reply to this.
I pray deliverance from any and all attacks against you while you're sleeping! Spiritual, natural or both.
The 1st place I would like to start: Have you received or ask GOD to be LORD of your life? Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior? John 3:15-16,
With that we are sealed with promise, 2Corinthians 1:20-22, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 1:13, James 1:5, Acts 5:32, Romans 15:13, Acts 2:28, 1Corinthian 6:19, John 14:26, Acts 10:38, Mark 16:16-18, 1John 5:9-21,
* if you have not accepted Jesus as your personal LORD & Savior. Please do that right now, in prayer. 2Corinthians 6:2, 1Thessalonians 5:9, John 14:6,
Hebrews 1, note Hebrews 1:14, if you have received Jesus Christ as Savior, then the visible/invisible image was it fighting on your behalf?
* If you have been involved with anything associated with darkness & evil knowingly or others around you or in your dwelling have. Destroy those things, get it away from you. Turn away from those things. Ask forgiveness from our Father in Heaven. Matthew 6:23, Luke 11:34-36,
Last night I thought about how Samuel cryed over Saul, & I wondered if that is why Saul kept the power of the kingdom so long? 1Samuel 16:11Samuel 15:35, 1Samuel 28:5-20, 1Samuel 31, it was not GOD's Will for Saul to disobey HIM in multiple ways. Saul's kingdom was "ripped" from him, but was it because Samuel wept for him, mourned & sought GOD on Saul's behalf?
I remembered how Moses intercedede for all the Israelites that GOD was going to destroy & they are a nation today. Exodus 32:9-14,
Psalms 122:6, John 17, Ezekiel 22:23-31, John 14:14, John 16:24,
Hopefully these are helpful too, even though this is on the other spectrum of this discussion, yet fit within question I hope
God does communicate with us through his word in the Bible. his word is alive, he says "I am the way, the truth and the life." "He who believes in me shall not perish but have everlasting life." also, he states in John 14:15 If you love, me keep my commandments.
We only have to believe in his word then we will fully understand that he is talking to us. those that seek him, he is calling them. We have to keep his commandments in our hearts " Exodus 20," then repent of all our wrongdoing, then little by little he will talk to your heart and will prepare you to fully understand his wonderful love.
I cannot describe how much I miss my parents and grandparents. Like you said, I had to decide to live in the NOW.
So when the Lord called me into evangelism, I went. I made mistakes, but my heart was pure. I didn't have time to think how people had treated me prior, before I was saved.
Jesus helped me be "one of those people" that you feel you've known many years. Good news carrier with feet lol.
I have happy expectation about heaven. To see family, friends, people I prayed with, and for. I'm still here, so I'm always looking at faces to see that one person who sees the Light of Jesus, on my face. Old age isn't happening. I've got all this hope to give away, before the "door is closed".
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 10:38
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
John 5:47
But if ye believe not his writings, [Bible] how shall ye believe my words?
1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
In the LAST TIME. It doesn't salvation is given on Earth.
1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not the 'race was already won.'
1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"
HOPE to the END. It doesn't say NOW. Grace that IS TO BE brought. It doesn't say NOW.
Joshua 24:15 "choose you this day whom ye will serve"
CHOOSE. It's a daily decision. Freewill is not stripped away.
Matthew 7:21-23
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Not all believers are saved and not all who claim to be followers.
Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN. I read this and know what it says.
James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
Believing alone isn't enough according to this verse.
Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
This is a warning, it is clear, and I understand it. I don't want to test God.
James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Jude 1:21 "KEEP YOURSELVES IN THE LOVE OF GOD, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."
These verses are the Words of God.
I read, pray for understanding, and know in my heart what these verses say and mean. If another believer says "No, that's not the truth, believe ME instead" then that is a huge red flag of something that doesn't come from God. God bless.
1st through creation, our very breath, heartbeat, vision, taste, smell, every flower, tree, sunset, sunrise, the oxygen we breathe, every beautiful creature, every created thing. He made & gave us trust to keep it. Through HIS creation HE speaks to us. If we choose to listen. Through the seasons & sunrise, sunsets we see He is faithful. Through domestic animals we see HIS compassion. In life we see hope. All given by GOD!
2nd His WORD the Bible, is GOD speaking through HIS people, 2Timothy 3:16, to us, all that are willing to read it.
3rd GOD has spoken through HIS Prophets: Jeremiah 7:25, & HIS people
4th Through JESUS The Messiah John 3:15-16,
5th Through the HOLY Spirit that was promised by JESUS to all who believe: Ephesians 1:13, John 14:26, Luke 11:13,
Sometimes in our most difficult moments in life we want GOD to speak to us outloud. In those times we need a quiet voice of comfort, which we can find in HIS WORD, in prayer, all around creation if we seek HIM. The voice of GOD recorded in scripture is like thunder, many accounts it makes those who've heard it tremble in fear. Exodus 19:9,16,18,19, Job 37:5, Psalms 77:18, John 12:28,29,
Hello Okou, as you will likely get different answers on this subject, I will share my interpretation of the Bible.
Despite what others say, I don't believe anyone gets "saved" while on earth. I don't see that anywhere in the Bible and it seems to be a man-constructed belief. What I see in the Bible is that because of Jesus's sacrifice we have hope of salvation. What I see in the Bible is that our judgment is what will determine our salvation and not everyone will receive salvation. The Bible says we will all be judged on the same day. It says many will go to hell, and few to heaven. What I see in the Bible is that the outcome is contingent upon our choices and behavior. This reality should be absolutely terrifying to some people. Maybe that's what it will take for some people to start taking God seriously and start obeying and fearing Him. Matthew 10:28. Others who are being running the race and fighting the fight can take comfort and have assurance of future salvation. Currently, we have a lot of self-proclaimed Christians goofing off and enjoying having their cake and eating it too, by unconsciously following the world's values, not God, despite Romans 12:2. Matthew 7:21-23 already predicted how this will turn our for them.
1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." Notice it doesn't say 'now' or while on 'earth'. It says salvation will be revealed in the last time. I interpret this as the end of time, at judgment day.
1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not the 'race was already won.'
Lots of conditional statements throughout the Bible, depending on our behavior and choices. Notice the word "If" a lot...
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."
Joshua 24:15 "choose you this day whom ye will serve". Notice this is a daily choice.
Thanks for adding that! Later after I posted the answer. I remembered I didn't include the amazing gift of Salvation, that we ourselves could not accomplish with out Christ JESUS!
Okou Agnatius,
I answered the question as I would have, to someone who had already received the gift of Salvation through believing in Christ. Chris was right to add that! It does cover that issue some in: 1Peter 1, but in my spirit, I did feel afterward that I had not given you the best most complete answer & it bothered me as I was trying to rest.
Please also see: John 3:15-16, Revelation 19:1, Acts 4:12, Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10, 1Thessalonians 5:8-24, Hebrews 2, Hebrews 5:9,
Yes, I have witnessed the same and it's hard to see. All someone has to do is turn on the TV. All are sinners and no one is immune to temptation, including pastors. We need the armor of God on and to take the threat seriously. There's huge division in Christianity toward the mindset of us being in a battle or the battle is already won. Obviously those kicking back and enjoying the fruits of the world are going to fall the hardest and not even realize it. When I read the Bible, over and over it warns us. It never tells us to just do nothing and chillax because we once listened to one sermon 40 years ago and assume we're saved, but to actively follow Jesus and avoid sin. We surely control what we say with our mouth and do with our bodies, so we can surely avoid sin if we try, like Jesus asked us to. If we're rooted in sin, we're no longer much of a light to the world and aren't going to be very effective in sharing the gospel. John 14:15. So, why we are responsible for ourselves, we should to be gentle with others. A frustrated demanding pastor is not in the right position. I think Pauls letters addressed this topic.
Dear Melissa, though I do believe in laying on hands during prayer for God's healing or guidance such as in ordination, the age of miracles such as the times of the apostles ended when the last one went to be with Jesus. I can think of nowhere in the Bible which teaches us to go about healing people.
Jesus commanded us to bring souls to Jesus. Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature," so that they have a chance to be saved. Being born again is more important than anything in this world, including health, because a healthy body will not save one from hellfire. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Speaking in Tongues
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Speaking in tongues means speaking in a "foreign language". It was the miraculous ability some early Christians had that enabled them to speak a language without first having learned it. The speaker was easily understood by anyone who knew that language, the first occurrence was on Pentecost. God gave this gift so that early Christians could spread the Gospel without foreign language being an obstacle.
Circular arguments on this topic remind me of an Abbott and Costello "who's on first" skit. In case anyone isn't aware, here are some scriptures describing one God with three components: father, son, and holy spirit. We likely will never 100% comprehend God nor should we expect to, but the fact is the Bible describes God as a triune Godhead, uses plural terms, says the three are "one", and I will trust God's Word over man's word. Christians will keep sharing the truth of the scriptures everytime someone tries to challenge God's word.

Thank you for responding to my comment. I was confused by John 14:22 because I wasn't aware that there were two apostles named Judas. I only knew of Judas Ascariot. After reading all of the scripture you referenced, it is now clear to me that the Judas referred to in that verse is Judas Barsabas. I also looked up the names of all the apostles, which I should have done before hand.

Hebrews 10:29
"Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?"
That is a great question. I did not know the answer, but I did an internet search and found this. I cannot confirm the accuracy, but here's what I found:
There were 7 people named JUDAS in The Bible.
1. An ancestor of Jesus ( Luke 3:30-31)
2. "Judas the Galilean"mentioned by Gamaliel at the Sanhedrin. ( Acts 5:37)
3. One of the 12 apostles (aka: Thaddaeus-"son of James") ( Luke 6:16)
4. Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. ( Mark 3:19)
5. One of Jesus' half-brothers. ( Matthew 13:55)
6. A man from Damascus (on the 'street called Straight') where Paul went after he was blinded ( Acts 9:11)
7. Judas (aka:Barsabbas)-who was called a prophet and a 'leading man' among the disciples, sent with Paul and Barnabas to deliver the letter on circumcision to Antioch and encourage the congregation ( Acts 15:22, 30-32)
If I may give another understanding of why Jesus told Peter "Get the behind me Satan". We find this in Matthew 16:23 and Mark 8:33. It may seem that Satan was influencing Peter, but Satan wanted Jesus to be killed because that would stop Jesus the Messiah from setting up the kingdom on earth, God's plan was hidden, even from the disciples.
Everyone and the disciples thought when the Messiah came, He would set up the Kingdom and set up the new world order. Jesus told them several times He would be killed and be resurrected, Matthew 16:21Matthew 17:22-23Mark 8:31Mark 9:31-32Mark 10:32-34. In Luke 9:44-45 it was hidden from them until He was resurrected Luke 24:6-8, and later the Holy Spirit would bring all remembrance to them, John 14:26.
The understanding of those sayings was hidden, and Peter took Jesus aside and was saying surely God would have mercy and not let this happen. Jesus turned away and when He said what He did all the disciples heard what He said. The word Satan was originally a common noun meaning adversary.
The disciples were amazed Jesus was going to Jerusalem and they were afraid Mark 10:32. Even though they were told what was going to happen it was hidden they did not have a clue, they were still looking for Jesus to overthrow the Romans and set up the kingdom. That was the reason they all scattered when Jesus was arrested and Peter's denial, they all were devastated and shocked because the Messiah when He came was to set up the kingdom not to be killed.
Jesus' response to Peter and the disciples was drastic but it was a message relevant to them all, a message they all needed to hear to get them through what was shortly to happen. One other thing, when Jesus came it was for the lost sheep of Israel only, even after Pentecost it was still for the house of Israel until the mystery of the gospel of grace was revealed.
Jesus only lost one, Judas who He called the son of perdition, John 17:12.
We should look at Abraham's act with Isaac as faith as well as an act of obedience on his part. We; certainly aren't as Abraham being given a son at 99 years of age; with a wife of 90; nor speaking to the Angel of God (Christ preincarnate) and other angels about destroying Sodom and then witnessing the event. Isaac was the son of promise who was to have descendants to multiply as the stars of the sky. The Lord would have to resurrect him; or as he told his son; "the Lord will provide a lamb" and the mountain's name given was testimony to that fact. (Actually a RAM was in thicket; the sacrificial lamb was eventually to be Christ who also needed to be a descendant of Isaac so the fact is that the Lord had to step in at some point.
We need to act out on what we confess; to prove what we possess. It is easy according to James to wish someone to be warm and fed or any other accolaides without doing anything. Surely we need to provide for physical needs as well as spiritual. We also; surely need to preach the truth in love; we can't separate these actions either; as it is not loving to tell people just what they want to hear; nor is it to bash them with truth and not care about the person. Much is the same principle with the Lord; those who love Him will obey His voice. ( John 14:15). He asks why people call Him Lord, Lord and do not what He says in Luke 6:46. We are not of this world; but need to be salt and light; for that is the preservation from total destruction which the Restrainer utilizes in the Body of Christ through the Spirit's current operation. We are told that he who doesn't care for the needs of his own are worse than an unbeliever and an infidel ( 1 Timothy 5:8). Mark 3:35 states that those who are His brother and mother; etc are those who do the will of the Father. We were given works from before the foundation of the world ( Ephesians 2:10). The Holy Spirit works within us; putting to death the deeds of the flesh as a fit vessel
Guess no one has attempted to answer you yet-so I will say the easiest answer is BOTH. In addition to this; of course we have the Holy Spirit as part of the Godhead. The easiest way; I suppose to look at it is that the Godhead (Elohim as mentioned in Genesis 1) consists of all 3 members of the Trinity. There is perfect unity; but different functions for each member. Jesus was referred to as my Lord and my God in John 20:28 by "doubting" Thomas after viewing His wounds after the Resurrection. Clearly; God the Father had to remain untouched by sin so that the universe could be held together; for sin had to bring death to the Son as predetermined by the Father ( Isaiah 53:10). Christ had conversations with and prayed to the Father; so clearly this is an eternal past; present and future state with the exception of that brief moment at Calvary.
It seems that the Holy Spirit is misunderstood for His main role bringing conviction of sin righteousness and judgment to come ( John 16:8). There is no scripture where the "helper" ( John 14:26) is instructed to be worshipped. Instead; it strengthens the believer; as a small reflection of Christ who possessed the Spirit "without limit" or measure ( John 3:34).
Believers have quibbled as to verses that mention the Trinity and others only mentioning baptism in the name of Christ. We also need to understand the Christophenes or preincarnate appearances of Christ. No one has seen the Father according to Christ; surely the full glory of God would kill a man ( John 1:18; Exodus 33:18-20). The Spirit has only been described in a visible manifestation or accompanying sign once; in Acts at Pentecost. Jesus makes it clear that when the Comforter (i.e. Spirit) comes that WE shall dwell with him ( John 14:23). He is to ask the Father and He sends it ( John 14:16).
I suppose a a good read of John is appropriate on these matters! Even one member of the Godhead is beyond our puny minds to understand. Agape. Rich P
Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image"
("us" is plural. God is plural.)
1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
"there are three"
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
"Word was God."
There is no denying this says and means the Word was God. Who is the Word? The rest of John 1 reveals who.
John 8:19 "if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."
Philippians 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"
"Christ Jesus...being in the form of God"
Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:"
John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
John 20:28
"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."
1 John 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."
1 John 2:22-24
"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."
The word creed comes from the Latin credo, "I believe." a set of beliefs of Christianity, and without believing these creeds salvation cannot be obtained. I have been told this in different denominations of churches I have gone to. "You cannot be a Christian unless you believe these creeds". Many Christian bible discussion web sites will not let you on unless you profess these creeds.
My understanding of scripture.
You must believe that God exists. Hebrews 11:6
You must believe Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.,18 6:40; 1 John 4:14-15, 5:5, 5:10
You must believe God gave His only Son for us to have eternal life John 3:16
You must believe Jesus came in the flesh 1 John 4:32 John 1:7
You must believe that Jesus is the Christ 1 John 2:22
You must believe Jesus died for Your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:2-3
You must believe God raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9
You must believe we are saved by Jesus' life Romans 5:10
Being baptized in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38Acts 8:16
You must believe we are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus 1 Corinthians 6:11
You must believe we obtain salvation only in Christ Jesus. John 14:6 2 Acts 4:12 Timothy 2:10
Are there any scriptures saying you must believe in these creeds for salvation?
Are these creeds similar to what the sect of Pharisees tried to do in Acts 15? What did Peter say? Acts 15:7-11
God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33
Amen Janet. As Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". He is the ONLY WAY - there was no other plan or provision by God to give the penitent sinner forgiveness of his sins & access into His Presence. It's either Jesus' way or Hell's highway.
Hi Jasmine, you asked several questions but I will just address your first question about God plural. It's plural because God is a triune being composed of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Beware of anyone pushing their own ideology and twisting scripture in order to accomplish their desired outcome. The Bible already says what it means and because it says this about God I choose to believe it.
Beware of anyone giving you answers that aren't in the Bible. For example if someone says yes to your question and if the Bible doesn't say that, then that sounds more like one person's opinion rather than anything from God. But we are trying to learn God's position on this not mans, right? The Bible doesn't specifically address this question, but it does say that even people who expect and feel entitled to get to heaven won't get in. Matthew 7:21. So, many people will be horrified to learn that they put their hope and trust in the wrong thing, or that they weren't even real followers of Jesus to begin with. They should have been following Jesus and His teachings and taking it to heart, not the teachings of the world (satan). So, given that most people will not make it to heaven, is it likely that someone who commits such a defiant sin against God will be warmly welcomed with great rewards? So, someone wants to intentionally destroy God's creation right in front of His face then the next moment beg for mercy and forgiveness from the intentional act of defiance? I don't see these two things as being congruent. My answer is "not yes" to your question and someone considering this act should deeply search what his or her priorities are. God likely has greater plans and purposes for the person they are not even remotely aware of. For someone to blatantly sin, disobey and defy God and His Will is evil. Grace is not an excuse to commit intentional sin. Hebrews 10:26-31, Hebrews 6:4-6, James 2:14-26, John 14:15, Romans 6:1-2. God bless.
Read these verses...this is the words of our Savior for the most part...i don't believe the god of the old testament is our Father/Creator...our Father is not a murderer...liar...or thief...He has none of these attributes...guess who does...thats right...lucifer and the fallen ones..we are warned not to follow the traditions of man. Ok folks...read these verses and decide for yourselves: john 1:7-18; john 6:32-51; john 14:6 and now for the biggie, the gospel .. 1st Corinthians 15:1-5 +....i encourage you to read and use eyes to see and ears to hear ..may Jesus bless each one of you with His Truth and Grace
Matthew 6:23, Luke 11:34-36,
* Ephesians 5:11,
Ephesians 6,
Hopefully these are helpful.
Do you LOVE Him?
I had to ask myself that very question. Maybe it will help you too.
:-) Jesus loves you.

Love these little verses!!
ALL. All means all.
Exodus 19:9,16,18,19, Job 37:5, Psalms 77:18, John 12:28,29,
I hope you will hear GOD more clearly
Hopefully this is helpful
GOD's WORD says seek & you shall find, knock & it shall be opened, Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9, Luke 1:37, Luke 18:27, Mark 10:27,
Ask & you shall receive, say with your mouth believe with your heart & it will happen. Mark 9:23, John 16:23,24, John 14:13,14, John 15:16,
Mark 11:22-26,
That doesn't just apply to believers GOD even gives people over Romans 1:18-32,
Matthew 17:20, Hebrews 11:6,
Mark 14:36,
James 4:3,
James 4,
Please stay within scripture, write it upon your heart. Proverbs 7:1-3, Deuteronomy 11:18, Proverbs 3:3,
Mark 7:9, Mark 7:13, Colossians 2:8,
Hopefully these are helpful & insightful

Hopefully these are helpful in your study to determine the best
Bless you.

1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race"
Jesus told them several times He would be killed and be resurrected, Matthew 16:21 Matthew 17:22-23 Mark 8:31 Mark 9:31-32 Mark 10:32-34.
Hope this helps
God bless,

Agape. Rich P

You must believe Jesus came in the flesh 1 John 4:3 2 John 1:7
You must believe that Jesus is the Christ 1 John 2:22
You must believe Jesus died for Your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:2-3
You must believe God raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9
You must believe we are saved by Jesus' life Romans 5:10
Being baptized in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38 Acts 8:16
