Discuss John 14 Page 14

    Part 1

    Hello dear brothers/sisters.

    Some thoughts...

    John 14:26

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you".

The above verse is often misinterpreted by many christians mainly in the reborn section of christianity, since the main stream denominations have a solid and unchangable theology(R or W). Many believers take the above verse especially the phrase "he (the Holly Spirit) shall teach you all things" as something that happens personally to individuals. So they(we) think that every thought, explanation, interpretation, etc that pops in our mind is literally given by the Spirit. We claim that we have a genuine love to understand the Word of God, so God replies back to our search for His truth, by revealing His truth to every person that looks for that Truth. But is that so? Does that is that is meant by the above verse? Well, not really. If that was the case then everybody would come to the same result. But what we see in practice is that there are so many and so much different beliefs between us that they are often like the day infront of night. But why? Isn't God's Word not right? Isn't that a promise from God? So what is happening? We often attribute the various beliefs to a non genuine love for the truth, manipulating verses to fit our own ideas, ignorance sometimes of the Word of God and many other that we like to think that others do, not us.

The truth is that the above verse is applicable TO THE CHURCH, not to any individual. God has placed the ministries in the church like pastors, teachers, apostles, evangelists, prophets to ... Ephesians 4:12-14 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ ...".

    Marilyn Mitchell,

The comments & questions are answered primarily on volunteer basis. My education was in Law, maybe that's why I like to stick to evidence straight in scripture, not hearsay, or adding to facts. I believe there are many well educated volunteers in this vast team that stretches all around the globe, throughout the USA, & has an occasional post from French, Spanish but the site has, at this point says it will stay in English only for now. Because of the vastness of geographic differences, understanding each others perspectives, up bringings, ways of speaking even slang, can be little difficult at times, especially adding theological words. Acts 4:13,

Jesus said He would send us the Holy Spirit & 1John 2:27, that The Holy Spirit will teach us, John 14:26,

    James 1:5,

    Hopefully this is helpful

Perhaps the questions arise because of teachings not actually in scripture.

John 17, Please read whole chapter, Isaiah 11:1,2, John 3:16, Matthew 10:32,33,

    Ephesians 4:30, Luke 11:13, Ephesians 1:1-13, Ephesians 1:17-23, Matthew 24:35,36,

    John 14:26, John 16:7,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Hi brother,

There are a few. However, the one that jumps out immediately is John 14:6. Jesus told us, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

Dear Derek, we are all sinners, even the born-again are sinners saved by grace. Romans 3:23,24 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

There's nothing we can do to EARN righteousness. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." The only righteousness God sees in you is the blood of Jesus.

However, when we are born again, Jesus calls us to do the works of His will. James 2:17

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

What are those works? Jesus said in John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Do what he did on earth such as is possible for a person to do. That is, minister unto others when God points out someone's need. Pray for yourself, and for others. Read and study your Bible, and heed whatever the Holy Spirit tells you to do.

    God Bless!

I listed scripture in hope you would read & the LORD through the HOLY Spirit would lead you. John 14:26, 1John 2:27, James 1:5,

There seems to be several ways to 'fast" before GOD. the most important seems to be, the Heart & actions of the individual or 'people' fasting. GOD points out to deal your bread to the hungry, keep it secret, pray for justice, & do Justice, act justly. It's not to be for self exalting Isaiah 58,

Sometimes people fast (most often) by not eating or drinking for a certain time. 1 meal, 'skipping a meal" 2Samuel 1:12, Judges 20:26,

Some eat regular meals but take things out that are enjoyable like sweet treats, rich meats. Like Daniel 1, Daniel 9,

Extreme fasts were Jesus & Moses. Please only fast what the HOLY Spirit leads you to. Not other's.

Sometimes it's very good to take all media, TV, phones, devices that distract, make noises ect even Christian radio away for a time to focus, be quiet & still before GOD, that's a way to humble yourself before GOD.

In the Bible many times they would rip their clothing throw dust on their heads. Joel 2:13, said don't, but rend your hearts, Matthew 6:16, Interestingly no account witnessed Jesus do that outward display, yet Jesus healed & delivered all who believed. Some people practice a life of types of fasting. Like Jesus, Paul, 2Corinthians 11:27, Matthew 17:21, Mark 9:29 Please read, pray, be still & quiet waiting on the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY while you dedicate time, other enjoyable things unto the LORD & study HIS WORD the Bible, also turn aside/away from things, displeasing to GOD, sin = repenting from or atleast trying & attempting to (if your fasting for your own deliverance) from things like addictions, habits etc..) abstain from wine etc.

that's what I recommend on how to "fast". Again I recommend the scriptures in previous reply.

Fasting is supernaturally amazing, it most definitely changes things, saves lives, delivers, defeats oppression, & enemies.

    Hopefully this is helpful

    Hi Paul.

    Pt 1.

    You said

" But the Bible speaks of things to be revealed beyond what's written"

You given several scripture supposedly indicating the Holyspirit have more to reveal separate from God's written word.

I have to disagree with that, The Holyspirit reveals the truth in God's word and sanctify the believer. not to mention its many othe tasks. Seal, teach, ect...

The Holyspirit does not have unwritten revelation to reveal he will make what Jesus said "AND LATER WRITTEN" comprehensive to us.

John 14:25-26. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND BRING ALL THINGS TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE, WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU.

Now concerning the supposed contradictions on Mat. 1:6 and Luke 3:31.

The bible says that Jesus will sit on the throne of King David. It also says that King Jeconiah, who is descended from David, will never have a descendant on the throne. So how can Jesus, apparently a descendant of Jeconiah, sit on the throne of David? First let's look at what the text says.

The Lord said to David on his deathbed.

2Sa 7:16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee:

thy throne shall be established for ever.

It says the Messiah will sit on David's throne forever.

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his (Messiah) government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

And that Jeconiah's descendants will not sit on that throne, (he is mentioned by name in Jer 22:28).

Jer 22:30 Thus says the LORD, 'Write this man (Jeconiah) down childless, A man who will not prosper in his days; For no man of his descendants will prosper Sitting on the throne of David Or ruling again in Judah.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. -- Read John 3:1-21

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a (new) creature: old things are passed away; behold, (all) things are become new.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Matthew 25: They were all virgins but 5 were lost --read the chapter

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

( John 3:7 Jesus said ye must be born again)

We all can find a verse that tells us what we want to hear, there will be many lost after he says depart from me. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    Amen Gigi.

    It's The Lords peace!

John 14:27. Peace I leave with you, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

IT'S A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT THAT THE WORD CAN'T GIVE. WE ARE TO EXPECT TRIBULATION IN THE WORLD.

Galatians 5:22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

    God bless.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hello Mike, My first thought to your question is that Jesus is our Peace ( Ephesians 2:14)

And Jesus saying at the Last Supper, "Peace I leave with you , my peace I give to you." ( John 14:27)

That Jesus is the Prince of Peace. ( Isaiah 9:6)''

There are so many good Scripture on the peace that comes from God. You can google a concordance to check out for yourself.

But, to me, it all comes down to the love of God, who loved us first, and made the way for us to be at peace with God through the Son, Jesus Christ.

Revelation 5: Focus on the seven Spirits of God.

Revelation 4:5 also discusses the seven Spirits of God along with Revelation 5:6. Apparently; Isaiah 11:2 is a commonly referred to cross reference; although technically it involves 6 ministries under the Lord Himself (as the 7th); it does fit in a sort of Menorah picture of how the Spirit operates in the entire corporate Body. We see a further description in Zechariah 4:2-3 of this source (apparently now in heaven); and the two prophets that tap into this power as witnesses throughout the earth in the end times. That can be studied further in Revelation 11.

It would seem that the seven spiritual gifts also would be in play here as to the emphasis given to a given church. This would be seen in Romans 12:6-8. In general; it seems that there are certain strengths and weaknesses that are commonplace depending on what gifts we have and that could factor into the overall situation as to the state of a congregation; what trials a particular congregation may or may not be called to suffer; doctrinal errors that creep in; etc. It is important to see the interdependence here so that the church isn't imbalanced

( 1 Cor. 12:14-16). In fact; we also see seven gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11. It is important to differentiate between the fruit of the Spirit (love; joy; peace; longsuffering; etc) in Galatians 5:22-22 which characterizes the lives of all true believers and the particular ministries they have. We can't have one without the other. The common thread; of course is the love of God and brethren as seen in John 13:34-35; and reflected in 1 Corinthians 13 (entire chapter). Apparently; gifts can operate even with immature saints just as some could believe at one time without understanding the indwelling Holy Spirit such in Acts 19:1-4.

In conclusion; God distributes as He will or "severally" ( 1 Cor. 12:11). In obedience because we love Christ ( John 14:15) we have the right attitude to grow.

I did a thorough study on when Jesus died. It was very interesting that men follows the traditions of men. Paul already warned us in Colossians 2:8

I personally confirmed that Jesus died on Wednesday. Just as the pattern of a wonderful God has created a day, so understanding that a day starts in the evening and the morning Genesis 1:5. Then next a great God gave the Jews a great and only sign of Jonah 1:17 and Matthew 12:40 a prophetic sign of when Jesus will die, buried and resurrected for 3 days and 3 nights. Our God is such a great Intelligent Designer so that the true believers will not be deceived tossed to and fro ( Ephesians 4:14) by any so-called Religious Christian Deceivers. So by knowing this you will know who is lying to you and to stay away from this cult. Revelation 18:4

It was also a perfect match on the day of Passover and the Sabbath. Noticed the day Mary went to the tomb and her preparation of her spices. I will leave a room for you to study.

So anybody says Jesus died on Friday, it is fake news they are making you a merchandised 2 Peter 2:3; Revelation 18:11; Revelation 18:12 Stay away immediately if they do not listen to the truth. The truth will set you free. John 14:6. The greatest and intelligent thing God said is that there is no other interpretation in the word of God. So if you do not get it you must be a lost person and not saved or just not reading your Bible enough. I do want ALL to be saved 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I just hate the Nicolaitans (2X) Revelations 2:6; Revelation 2:15. Beware of many modern Pharisees.

Main thing is that we true believers 1 John4:2-3; 2 John 1:7 should not be divided 1 Corinthians 1:10; Luke 11:17. We need each other Romans 12:4; 1 Corinthians 12:12 & 20

We are truly in the last days. Psalms 2:1-12. God wants everybody to understand The Word of God. Many of you will not believe. It is expected. Many will meet Jesus in the cloud 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. See you soon.

Hello! I'd like to point out that when one of the Apostles asked Jesus Christ to teach him how to pray, he instructed them all, and us by association, to pray to God Luke 11:1-13. To wit, we are to pray to God, our Father, not to Mary.

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. Therefore, we have all broken God's ten commandments. When we break one, we are guilty of breaking them all, James 2:10-20.

Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He told Nicodemus that a man must be born again to enter Heaven, John 3:3. No man comes to the Father but by Jesus, John 14:6.

    To be born again:

Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

    Sister Theresa:

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto man once to DIE; but after this the judgement.

This death happens by THE COMING OF THE LORD, HIM in YOU, his body.

This SECOND COMING cannot be seen: it comes like a thief in the night.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was ONCE OFFERED (first coming of Christ) to bear the sins of many; and to them who LOOK for him shall he appear a SECOND TIME (second coming CHRIST as the HOLY GHOST) without sin, UNTO SALVATION.

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming FIRE.

Revelation 9:18 By these was the THIRD PART of man KILLED (first death, not literal), by the FIRE, and the SMOKE, and the BRIMSTONE, which ISSUED OUT OF THEIR MOUTH.

All of us, THE DECEIVED, are KILLED, destroyed, by GOD'S WORD.

All that is LEFT is TRUTH and LIFE.

    John 14:6 ....I AM TRUTH .....I AM LIFE ....

Ezekiel 5:2 Thou shall BURN WITH FIRE a THIRD PART .....

Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the THIRD PART through the FIRE ...

Zechariah 13:8 And it SHALL COME TO PASS, that in all the land, TWO PARTS shall be cut off and DIE (literal, go to the grave); but the THIRD PART shall BE LEFT (never see death) therein.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we (that died the first death, that came to the truth of Christ's resurrection) SHALL REMAIN (having become ONE WITH TRUTH: CHRIST) and be CAUGHT UP together with THEM (the Old Testament Saints, resurrected with Christ) in the clouds (symbolic of God's Temple, the cloud was always over the tabernacle of the Old Covenant), to meet the Lord on the air, so shall we ever be (in the presence) with the Lord (the IMAGE OF CHRIST).

Zechariah 12:7 And the Lord shall save the tents of Judah FIRST (the Old Testament Saints; resurrected with Christ), that the GLORY of the HOUSE OF DAVID (those born again of TRUTH) and the glory of the house of Jerusalem (same people) do not magnify themselves against the house of Judah.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will DO NOTHING, but he revealeth his SECRET to his servants the Prophets.

Let's see what else God's Word has to say in regards to your snarky comment against Jesus.

A few verses before in 2 Peter 1:11 it says "Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." Do you believe Jesus is your Lord and Savior?

Do you know what "Lord" means?

The same old straw man fallacy shows up again that God the Son isn't God the Father, but no one is claiming that. This attack on Jesus is repeated so much it seems to fall into the disingenuous and lie territory.

God is powerful enough to do what you don't comprehend as a man. Whether you comprehend that or not doesn't change reality or the truth. The Bible says that in John 1 the 'word was God' and was there at the beginning, so do you believe it?

More of God's truth about God:

Luke 4:34 - "Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God."

Luke 4:12 after satan put Jesus to the test Jesus says "Do not put the Lord your God to the test."

Isaiah 7:14 - Jesus is called Immanuel which means "God with us"

Isaiah 42:5 "Thus saith God the LORD..."

Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD: that is my name..."

Hebrews 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."

    Acts 17:29

    Romans 1:20

    John 1:18

God is we and us plural:

    Genesis 1:26

If the Bible flat out said Jesus is God like it does would you believe it?

Where are the verses that say Jesus isn't God the Son? (none)

Where are the verses saying Jesus IS God the Son (above, numerous)

And where are the verses where Jesus verbally denied being God? (none)

    Continued from previous.

What should be asked and a great concern is what should salvation look like in a believer because many shall be deceived.

First of all shall you continue in sin?

    Paul answers that here in

    Romans 6:1-4.

We have been REGENERATED, REBORN, Given a new heart and ready to present Christ work through us. Titus 3:4-6.

We have eternal life now that can bare fruit such as faith ect...

This is what James is saying in James 2:17-18.

What James is saying is he's going to show that this gift is in him by his works. You see a Christian is saved UNTO good works. Ephesians 2:10.

When you are saved, you are baptized into Christ. It is he that works in you. Philippians 2:13.

    Also;

Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this very thing, THAT HE WHICH HATH BEGUN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL PERFORM IT UNTIL THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST:

If you can loose your salvation all these scriptures means nothing.

    Here's another scripture often used.

John 14:15. "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Well look at the next verse.

Vs 16. "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOR EVER; This Love is a fruit, so who is causing you to Love Christ? CHRIST SPIRIT, The HG.

Most people say you can loose your salvation also believes you can earn salvation which you can't do. And if they hold to that it's sad to say but the scripture says they have fallen from Grace. Galatians 5:4.

I believe this means comes up short.

Now if you come up short you will hear this. "And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:23.

I never knew you can never be told to a believer because of this verse. "My sheep hear my voice,.... AND I KNOW THEM,.... and they follow me: John 10:27.

Now if a person have habitual sin in their life, Chances are you're not saved. And you can't loose what you don't have.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

John 14 Predestination and the work and blessed assurance of the Godhead.

As we continue here and the following chapter; we see how Christ gave comfort and assurance immediately before the trial at Gethsemene which He knew was imminent. Heaven itself is mentioned right off the bat in verse 3. This; of course leads to confusion and further questions.

The answer in verse 6 is that no one comes to the Father but by me (Christ). So; the access to heaven is the priority; and that essentially is showing them how the Father makes Himself known. Previously; the emphasis was on understanding who Christ was and that no one could know HIM unless the Father had elected them. Thomas was told that he was soon to understand in verse 7; followed by Phillip's request to see the Father (obviously he still didn't get things completely). He then explains the Godhead and how the Holy Spirit would come soon at Pentacost to remain with them (verse 18-21) and continues to show how prayers are answered in understanding these concepts. He promises peace despite the remorse over His upcoming death; and comfort as the Holy Spirit will remind them of these things; with further reminders of these things just spoken as well.

Before we do a V-8 moment as to the apparent dullness of mind these 12 Disciples appeared to demonstrate; we should all be reminded that without the Holy Spirit we are toast; and if it weren't for restraint being enacted by God Satan would have destroyed all of us and the whole earth by now. We should see at least occasionally as Christ saw; that we are indeed seated at heavenly places and perceive the spiritual world and the unseen and not focus in on what our five senses and the devil are constantly promoting. We need to take on the milk of the Word as babes before we can mature and discipline helps; nonetheless we can do nothing without Him ( John 15:5).

We need to take on the milk of the Word as babes before we can mature and discipline helps; nonetheless we can do nothing without Him ( John 15:5).

Here are a few scriptures that should help show truth

Galatians 1:8,9, no, Angel given another gospel not ok.

Revelation 14, 144,000, seem to be clearly defined in: Revelation 7:3-4, broken down by tribe: Revelation 7:3-8,

Not just the Laterdaysaints: Revelation 7:9-17,

don't add to word, or take away from: Revelation 22:18,19

    Matthew 25:31-46,

Women prophets Judges 4:4, Luke 2:36, Exodus 15:20,

    Acts 4:12, John 14:6, John 3:16,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Brother John:

Isn't everyone a unbeliever before they are a believer?

    Isn't everyone a liar?

    Isn't everyone fearful?

The lake of fire is Christ.

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

If your in Christ and Christ is in you; then your in the FIRE.

Matthew 3:11 ....and he shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

Malachi 3:2 And who shall abide the day of his coming (Christ in you, Colossians 1:27, baptised into his name)? and who can stand when he (TRUTH and LIFE, John 14:6) appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire and a fullers soap.

Malachi 3:3 And he shall set (in you) as a refiner and purifier of silver: that YOU may offer unto the Lord an offering in RIGHTEOUSNESS.

    God Bless You.

    Brother Jesse:

    I agree with your comments.

We have to surrender (die) our life to Christ.

Do we have life, in and of ourselves, NO? Most don't understand this.

1 Corinthians 4:11 For we which LIVE are always delivered unto death for Jesus sake, that the LIFE OF JESUS might be made manifest in our mortal bodies (as well as in our IMMORTAL bodies in the AGE TO COME).

To repent means to change our way of UNDERSTANDING.

To repent would be to agree with God's word.

John 14:6 I AM the way, the Truth, and the LIFE.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ....Christ in you .....

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (in you) that worketh both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Christ (the first man) UNDERSTOOD this ....THOU in ME....the Father did EVERYTHING through Christ.

Man has to come to TRUTH (Christ in you): Man does EVERYTHING ....I in THEM .....through Christ.

This is the great DECEPTION: No KNOWLEDGE of the WORKS of God.

Hebrews 2:8 .....For now we see NOT YET all things put under him.

Man's time table IS NOT God's timetable.

Ephesians 2:7 That in the AGES TO COME .....

Isaiah 11:9 ....for the earth shall be full of the KNOWLEDGE of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I PLEASE, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I SENT IT.

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things (in the ages to come) have been subdued to him, then shall the Son also be subject unto him who put all things under him, that GOD may be ALL in ALL.

God Bless ALL on our pilgrimage to TRUTH.

You are welcome. Please allow me to make myself be clear. Please read the entire chapter of John 1. John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. When you see capital letter "W" Word in the Bible it means Jesus Christ. John 1:14. The lower case "w" word means the Bible. You cannot come to God the Father but by Jesus Christ John 14:6-7; For through him (Jesus Christ) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Ephesians 2:18; it is a mystery Colossians 2:2-3; God gave to Jesus everything we need to know Revelation 1:1. In conclusion, There is one God the Father, one God the Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and one God The Holy Spirit. Three persons if you will, manifested from ONE GOD. Thank you so much for your question, I know how hard it is to many people understanding this concept, for I now have to be careful explaining it to you as well. Very happy for the opportunity. Glory to God.

More verses to prove Jesus is God. I will pray that you will be guided by the Holy Spirit in your journey to God. Agape.

    Dear Nats

    A few verses for Jesus...

    1 Tim 3:16

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory".

    Hebr 1:3

"Who (Jesus) being the brightness of his glory, and the (visible) express image of his (invisible) person, and upholding all things by the word of his (not Father God's) power, ...".

    Hebr 1:8

"But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom".

    Hebr 1:10

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:".

Phil 2:5-6 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:".

John 14:9 "Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; ...?" How come this? Because they are the same. Persons of the same triune God.

Math 11:10 ""For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee".

Now compare the above with Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple,...".

The "before me" in Malachi becomes "before you" in Matthew. Why? Because it is about the same person, God.

Matth 5:21-22, 27-28, 31-32, 33-34 etc are of the form "Ye have heard that it was said by them (by God) of old time,...But I say unto you," Who can change God's commandments but God Himself? Moses never said "I say...".

There are so many verses in the NT that show Jesus' Divine nature. Just read the NT and mark them. You'll be surprised.

Question. A child of an animal is animal too, a son of man is a man (human) too. A son of God is... what?

    Dear Nats:

Even if I say Giannis has explained it very well, if you not "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20-1. I can only perceived by reading "Nats if Jesus is God" you are still searching if Jesus Christ is God. I would be happy to show you how to be saved and obtain the Holy Spirit. Only then the verses you have inquired about will make sense to you because the Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth.

In John 10:36 Jesus Christ himself said He is the Son of God. If you read the entire conversation between the unbelieving Jews and Jesus Christ they will not believe no matter how anybody explained it to them. It is already prophesied in Isaiah 6:9-10, Isaiah 42:20; Jeremiah 5:21; Acts 28:27; Roman's 11.8

In John 14:28 the situation was that Jesus was about to fulfill another prophesy and that was to die on the cross for the sins of the world 1 John 2:2. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Colossians 2:2-3. When Jesus was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures, Jesus fulfilled what God the Father sent Jesus to do on earth. The mystery is that God the Father is greater than Jesus the Son of God. Remember Jesus came to Virgin Mary from God the Father. Then Jesus has to go unto the Father after Jesus rose the third day so the Comforter (i.e. Holy Spirit) will be fulfilled. John 14:16; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7. There is only one God. Romans 3:30; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; 1 Timothy 2:5; James 2:19. Hope this helps and that you be saved soon. Good question.
