Bill 's comment 1 06 2015 : Amen. It is truth that very few know seldom about. John 11:16 speaks clearly in the sense that Thomas is the twin and I 'm here to reveal you the truth. He wants me to tell you " life on earth to heaven is compared to a pretest to a post test. Much research and preparation must be done but its not like lifting logs and carrying them everyday. Its simple: education is medication. When you research who you are you will know yourself. When you know yourself you become detached from the world and start questioning. When you become detached from the world you 're closer to God when you start questioning that means you care about God. So as long as you trust in him he will carry you away from this world full of sin and will surpass death. But the world will pass into that 5 letter word. Peace be unto you and God bless

I think the Scriptures are telling us Jesus loved Lazarus and the two ladies and when He saw them in pain, He empathized with their loss. This thinking does not negate the fact Jesus may have felt pain for the doubts of those around Him. It simply let us humans know He understands our feelings.

Jesus wept due to my sins and the sins of the world
  • Pastor Ryan Sheppard on John 11:35 - 10 years ago
Jesus wept goes all the way back to the garden of Eden where mankind first disobeyed God 's explicit instructions and encompassed all the sins including the obvious sin of unbelief surrounding Him at that present time knowing Jesus is God knowing Jesus knew He would soon offer Himself up to pay for every sin past, present and future, plus, He wept over the loss of the life of Lazuras which highlights for us just how real God 's love is for us and totally explains God 's grace. God does NOT want any of us earthlings to perish. We all have a free will choice and Jesus weeping proves this, for God would never have wept if He ultimately wanted Lazuras to die. Jesus allows everything to happen that happens for the betterment of His true believers. So why make our Lord weep? Instead learn from John 11 35 and bring to life a greater witness and testimony for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Like Paul tells us in Thessalonians, we will "meet " the Lord in the air. They went out to meet Jesus..Remember "A day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day "..Jesus, upon hearing Lazarus was sick abode 2 days in the same place. Indeed, he has known we are sick for 2 thousand years.Upon reaching Lazarus he removes the "stone "...the law. He raises Lazarus as he will raise all his flock. He had been dead for a total of 4 days. 4000 under the law, and now 2000 under his grace. 6000 years total. All that is left is a 1000 year, or seventh day of the week, on the day a thousand year clock. There are more parallels here, and it is a chapter worthy of much study, as they all are.
  • Venda on John 11 - 10 years ago
I like the story. I like the way Jesus chose to reveal himself. Jesus have a way to let people glorify him and his father. He has proven that he is the son of God and he and his father are one. He always consult with his father. Martha, Mary, the Jews and the disciples they all had to know that Jesus is truly the resurrection and the life. Jesus does things on his time. Amen...all we as christian have to do only believe and we shall live. The main reason for Lazarus 's death, and he Jesus did not come when he was inform that his friend was sick, is to be glorified. He showed his disciples and the Jews that he is the son of God, and the resurection and the life.

Jesus is saying I am the Resurrector, the One who raises the dead back to life. I am the Source of all life. If you believe in me like Lazarus did I will also resurrect you from death to eternal life. If you believe in me and know that I am the Son of God then then you have assurance of eternal life with me in God 's Kingdom.

  • Dusky on John 11:35 - 10 years ago
Christ needs us to believe. It 's just that simple. When we believe, even though we do not understand, we accept that He is Sovereign over every part of our being body, heart, mind or as I like to call it strength, spirit soul . He keeps His promises and we know this and so we do not require proof in this lifetime or the next. This is the key to the door of having righteousness counted toward you. It is also why Abraham did not need to see nor did he wait until all was received. He simply believed and kept it moving. Because Abraham was so willing in his strength, spirit and soul to accept and believe we all share in his blessing. Jesus wept because he just needs us to believe.
  • Oscar O Ngomane on John 11 - 10 years ago
I saw to types of servants of God, Martha said, I know nothing is impossible with God, she told Christ that 's faith she said so even his brother were dead for four days, we also saw her other sister Mary wept and Jesus also wept with them, then after that He raised Lazarus from death, that 's so powerful... When we get into any trouble Jesus go with us and then changes the situation there after to work for us John10V10
  • SOLOMON KOOMSON on John 11:25 - 10 years ago
