Paul Some verses to help 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 John 3:1+2, God through Jesus Christ forgives and its available to have a clear conscience, just daily change habit patterns based on the word. Also 1 John 3:20-22, also Romans 8:28-39 or as the saying goes if God is for us who can be against us no one. We are on the winning team. God Bless

There's plenty of scriptures to make what you said powerful. Bless you.

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

    [ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]

I scribbled all the scripture references inside my Bible cover.

    Thanks Brother Jesse.

Amen The power which was performing those works is working in many believers in diverse ways, so the volume has ramped up, it is the quantity not quality as you said.

And Jesus was not displaying gifts, He was displaying Power given to him by the Father.

John 14:10-11. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

I have heard several people across the years say we can do greater things than Jesus, when reading that verse, One guy even taught a class and asked when you look in the mirror who do you see? I knew where he was going with this so I said an unworthy sinner saved by the grace of God. He said I was wrong, you are seeing Jesus. You can do the miracles Jesus did if you prayed to the father and it happens all the time! "We can do greater things than Jesus!"

I asked him can a man raise himself from the dead?

John 10:17-18. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. ( I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.) This commandment have I received of my Father.

Even the Apostles could not do that.

    God bless.

Leroy I don't see in the bible where satan was ordained to that position but I do see where he stole it, Gen. 3:1-6 which is where Adam and Eve were tricked the power and authority was given him. Look at Luke 4:5+6. Also Jesus Christ in John 10:9 summoned up the adversaries intentions, steal kill destroy. Then the deliverance our Saviour next verse I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.

Jesse I agree with what you share about coming to Christ and getting peace with God but my Bible also says John 10:9 The thief the adversary is the thief and His only ministry is to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus Christ total opposite I am come that they may have life and have it more abundant. When we come to Gods word get Humble and believe God always comes through. 1 Peter 5:6-8, the enemy of mankind wants to take life and he doesn't care how. One of the problems in our day and time we believe on Hog good The true God is but we don't believe that the enemy is absolutely evil. Suicide is not of The Will of the True God.Its says in Gods word he will always make a way out that a believer can handle it. God Bless

Mark Absolutely not Our Heavenly father is the author of life and health and prosperity. Gospel of John 10:9+10 The thief cometh not but to steal kill and destroy. That's all the adversary does, 10 I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly Jesus Christ. People do this when they are tricked that there's no way out. It does not please True God, the devil could care less. P.S. Going to Jesus Christ and Confessing Romans 10:9+10 God will always make a way up and out. God Bless

Earl Why would God in the old Testament give command to do the things that you stated but in the Gospels and new testament say the opposite, now you might say God can do anything He Wants but thats not true God cannot lie and God cant go against His own words. World conditions change man changes God Does not. Again John10: 9 Thief steal kill destroy Jesus Christ more abundant life. John 10:10.

Johnathan, this discussion board is not a forum for one to purposely attempt to "humiliate" a fellow believer; such is not of Christ. We are here to share and edify in love.

Concerning the two witnesses, God always has multiple applications of a theme. Christ and the Holy Ghost are His two greatest witnesses ( John 14:16; 15:26). The Southern and Northern Kingdoms, Judah and Israel, were His two witnesses. The tribes of Judah and Benjamin became God's two witnesses when the Northern Kingdom veered into idolatry under Jeroboam. Lastly, God's two witnesses today are the Jewish and Christian folds of the kingdom ( John 10:16).

The conversation centered on God's two great witnesses among the prophets ( Rev. 11:3, 10); for they will sit at the right and left hand of Christ ( Matt. 20:21-23). As evidence on the Mount of Transfiguration, these two witnesses are Moses and Elijah ( Matt. 17:1-3).

Brother, one should personally decide what is truth and what is allegorical. All would agree that the Book of Revelation is highly symbolic and allegorical. However, Christ was speaking straightforwardly when He said John the Baptist was Elijah. The writer of Hebrews was speaking factually when he said neither Enoch nor Melchisedec died. Some say that the Book of Job was allegorical. However, God verified that he was a person ( Ezek. 14:14). Some think the story of Jonah was a fable. Yet, Christ spoke of him as being a real person ( Matt. 16:4).

    Greetings

In fact the matter is profound.

There are two kinds of man that were created by GOD: One is earthy, animal, even bestial or brut beast. Another is spiritual man, yeah, only this is really the man created in the image of GOD. Detail: Scriptures do not say GOD created "a man" as if was one, but many. Let us make man in OUR image ... many men. This work was reserved to realize in the sixth Day. Detail: One day with the Lord is as a thousand years- 2Peter 5:v.8.

You referred to John 10:v.9-10, and you said: "Adversary the thief, steal kill and destroy." Yes, All were destroyed and were lost. JESUS said He was sent specificaly to the lost sheep of Israel-Mt.15:24, but in John 10:v.16 He left clear the salvation was for the humankind. v.16 - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold(the Gentiles): them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

In my prior post for you I wrote: Two thousand years ago, the Word was made flesh-JESUS- and He came to create a new creature in GOD, the Father, through the new birth and saving what had been lost through Satan's usurpation of the God's creation; In fact, without JESUS, was not any thing made that was made. John the apostle said: Now are we the sons of God,and doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shalld it appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is- 1John 3:2

If you see the Chronology and duration of biblical times, you will see or conclude that we are living in the turn of the sixth Day to the seventh Day, that is the seventh and last millennium, the Millennium of Christ. Only now, in a moment very similar when GOD went to speak with Adam in Eden in the turn of Day, I mean, only now in the turn of the sixth Day to the seventh, the man (men) will be made in the image of GOD. How will it be? JESUS explains in Luke 20:35-36.

In Christ JESUS, KING of kings (kings made by Him), and LORD of lords

The difference in the Gospel of John from the gnostic Gospels used to bother me. I saw it as more fanciful. But these days I have been viewing it, in part, as a letter to Muslims, to address their issues, written 500 years before Mohammed preached Islam (according to the standard Islamic narrative of Mohammed's biography). This springs out at you in the very first verse, of the very first chapter - which is written in terms that seem out of place but a Muslim would immediately grasp: "In the beginning was the Word,..." and later in verse 14 comes the kicker, "...and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...."

Most Muslims are programmed to ask: "where in the Gospels does Jesus say 'I am God, worship me.'" (Islam emphasizes the majesty of God and that humans should make themselves slaves of God.) The Gospels of John address these concerns most directly, but Jesus, in John 15:15 addresses the nature of our relationship to God, we are no longer servants, but made friends with God. We are to have an intimate relationship with him.

But, in John 10:10, Jesus, compared himself directly with Mohammed. You see Mohammed started his career as a warlord first as a caravan robber, a thief. Western Civilization is based upon Christ's teachings (and a few of his commandments) among them are: separation of church and state, search for truth, value truth, avoid falsehood, freedom to search for truth, exercise of that freedom (the theology is worked out in the parable of the Prodigal Son), love and forgiveness. For people living in the West, these principles have given us a more abundant and full life - what a gift!

Today almost no Christian, living in the West, aspires to live in a Muslim majority country, but almost all Muslims living in a Muslim majority country aspire to live in the west. Islam threatened/encroached Western Civilization for about 1000 years. In that time about half of Christendom was lost to Islam. Today the West walks on the moon, Islam not so much.

Yeah, there is only One GOD, but He is not as you imagine He is, i say, according your human conception. What prevails is the Word of GOD, understand?

John 10:v.30 : JESUS said: I and my Father ARE One. JESUS is speaking of two distincts Persons: He and the GOD the Father. For me both ARE equal, there is not any diference, I mean, One is GOD the Father, and JESUS is GOD the Son, both ARE One.

JESUS said more: I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Who is the third? What does GOD the Father say and reveal by His words? IOW, what is the testemony of JESUS about the third Person? John 16:v.7-15

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send HIM unto you.

8 And when HE IS COME, HE will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of Judgment:

    9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of Judgment, because the prince of this world (the Devil's world) is Judged.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye CANNOT BEAR THEM now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

14 HE shall glorify me: for HE SHALL RECEIVE OF MINE, and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore SAID I, that HE SHALL TAKE OF MINE, and shall shew it unto you.

What does the Word of GOD say?

There are three that bear record in heaven, the FATHER, the Word(made flesh), and the Holy Spirit: and these THREE ARE One.

JESUS left very clear: No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he TO WHOMSOEVER the Son will reveal him.

    ITS IT.

    Benon,

Even though we become sons and daughters through spiritual re-birth, we are not called the begotten of God. Jesus Christ is the only begotten of the Father. The word begotten in the Greek text means unique. Jesus Christ is the only unique one from the Father.

John 1:18 is quite a statement. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, and again the word begotten means unique. The only one who is in human form that represents God, the only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

It is the relationship of the Word to the representative of God to man. First of all, nobody has ever seen God at any time. Nobody! The only one, the only unique one who has come from God, who is in the Father's bosom, another word of equality, He and the Father are one which He says John 10:31.

He, that is Jesus Christ, He has declared God. The word for declared is EXEGESITO. That is where we get our word exegesis from. An exegete is somebody who takes something apart and declares in detail the facts about a subject.

So there are the three principles concerning Jesus Christ: in existence, in equality, and in essence.

The only begotten Son (Existed) in the bosom of the Father.

(Equality) - bosom of the Father means that He is one with him.

And thirdly, (Essence) - God in human form.

In other words, if anybody wants to know about God, they go to Jesus Christ. He is not just a prophet. He's not just a rabbi. In the Christian faith and Biblical Christianity, He is God in the flesh, 100% God, 100% man!

    Hi Marine Wife

You said: "They are three in one, not three different persons."

See, what prevails is the Word of GOD. The Word is GOD.

1 John 5:v. 7 - There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father (GOD, the Father), the Word (the Word made flesh-JESUS), and the Holy Spirit (who is not a ghost as is written in English language), but a Person - the Comforter): and these three are One.

JESUS said: I and my Father are One- John 10:v.30. Two distincts Persons, but both are One.

Concerning the Person of the Holy Spirit (he is not a ghost as is written in English language), JESUS said: John 16:v.12-15: - 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Matthew 11:v.27 - No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son,

and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
  • David on Mark 10:9 - 3 years ago
    Hey Paul Keen,

In order to know if God is speaking to you, you must first know God. Being saved is the first step, but you still need to know of God. Know His character, His Truths, His attributes; then you will know if you are hearing from God of the Scripture. John 10: 24-27

True believers can know the Truth, because you've studied the Truth in scripture.

To know counterfeit money, you must study the real money. Then you will be able to know the fake, because you know the true money.

Know Jesus, know the Truth. No Jesus, No truth.

    Hello,

If you believe the Bible where it says the "three are one" then, the answer is yes.

1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

    Here's other supporting scripture too:

    Genesis 1:26

    John 11:6-7

    John 10:30

    John 8:19

    John 1:1

    Philippians 2:5 - 2:8

    2 Corinthians 5:19

    John 1:3

    1 John 5:7

    Matthew 28:19

    1 Peter 1:2

    2 Corinthians 13:14

    Deuteronomy 6:4

    John 14:10

    John 20:28

    1 John 5:8

    1 John 2:22-24

    Link

Beware of creative people who will try to either disregard or 'reinterpret' all the above scripture in attempt to get it to mean something else. In searching our conscience, deep down we already know what "the father and I are one" and the "three are one" means. We should all ask God directly for wisdom in understanding the scriptures and to reveal and confirm His truths to us, so we aren't deceived or mislead by false teachers. James 1:5. 1 Timothy 4:1-2.

A testimony by my Brother on Revelation.

"Why was the book of Revelation written? Obviously it is a part of the divine message of salvation for us, from God. Why is its message veiled? It is a message from Christ, and even durning, His brief stay here upon the earth, He sometimes veiled His message. "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables, that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand" Luke 8:10 .

I wonder how many Christians are like me. Before helping with this present work, I used to never read Revelation. Oh, the first three and last two chapters, perhaps, but the bulk of it I never bothered with. It seemed just too deep, too hard to get anything out of it. But then why is it in the New Testament? Hopefully, this present work will stimulate many who have that same attitude to search for wisdom contained in the last book of the beloved Bible. It may not be easy; Revelation is meat not milk.

Read the book, read Revelation, then read again. We do well to heed what the Spirit says, " My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" John 10:27 ."

He also left this testimony before he died in 2005, "It is helpful to picture each chapter of the Book of Revelation as a room belonging to a house. As each room has its use, the furniture, appliances, and utilities are in harmony with that room. When these objects are identified and associated with each room, they become fixed in our memory. We can then remember what objects are in each room (chapter). As we move through the house, we begin to see how different objects, or parts thereof, relate to each other."

My brother by his understanding as a born again Christian believed by the scriptures, while time in earth remains, a present reign in Jesus Christ.

Good day to you my brother Earl. As I also enjoyed reading of your post of Scriptures put together.

A couple interesting things the Holy Spirit has led me to today studying the Scriptures.

One thing just interesting was that is was a "sin", or not allowed, for a high priest to rend his clothes. Leviticus 21:10. As the high priest is said to have done in Mark 14:63.

On a more divine note that in the OT in Joel 2:32 stating "whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be delivered/saved". Speaking of YHWH Almighty God. In Romans 10:13 almost the same words though now speaking of Christ. John 10:30,

Have a Blessed day brother Earl.

Brother Deshawn, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, SAITH GOD, I WILL...

Is GOD a person? Do you know anything that can speak other than a person? Saith God, I will pour out MY SPIRIT ( John 4:24 God is SPIRIT); is not he saying that he will pour out HIMSELF?

1 Corinthians 2:16 KNOW YE NOT that ye are the temple of God, and that the SPIRIT OF GOD (God is Spirit) dwells in you....

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind (God's mind) be in you, which also was in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Psalms 82:6 I (GOD SAITH) have said, ye are gods; and all of you are CHILDREN of the MOST HIGH.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I SAID ye age gods?

John 10:35 If HE called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (GOD POURED OUT HIMSELF ON YOU), and the scripture cannot be broken.

Your comment sounds like an attack on Christians who believe the Bible. Why do you post such a thing on a Bible website and what is your goal? To unite or divide?

Christians believe Jesus is God because the Bible clearly says He's God. Is that reason enough? John 1:1 flat out says it. So, so all the scriptures below that even children read and understand. It needs no creative interpreting, needs no progressive pastor to interpret, just literally what it says. Jesus being God doesn't mean He's God the Father, but God the Son. God became a man and died for you, do you believe Him?

Claiming that Christians who read the scriptures and believe are somehow just 'Americans' or 'Catholics' seems like a disingenuous attack on Christians. Labeling and dividing and lying is what I've seen done to make such anti-Christ arguments. Anyone who does this is on extremely dangerous ground. Anyone who tries to spread anti-Christ lies should be ashamed of themselves.

    1 John 2:22-24

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."

    1 John 5:7

    Genesis 1:26

    John 11:6-7

    John 10:30

    John 8:19

    John 1:1

    Philippians 2:5 - 2:8

    2 Corinthians 5:19

    John 1:3

    1 John 5:7

    Matthew 28:19

    1 Peter 1:2

    2 Corinthians 13:14

Matthew 20:28. Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 28:19-20. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

JESUS COMMANDED HIS DISCIPLES TO GO OUT AND SHARE THE GOSPEL, AND THEY DID!

IT WAS IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR THEM TO DIE FOR.

Today it is the least interesting topic of scripture.

John 3:14-16. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Acts 16:30-31. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

    1 Corinthians 15:3-4. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 12:24 . Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

John 10:1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Let us not treat the gospel like a history book,

And Let's understand the necessity of it.

    God bless

    Ron,

At Revelation 21's point, it's post seventh trumpet, so when is comes to God and Jesus, the two have become virtually interchangeable. Jesus proclaimed Himself to be the "Alpha and Omega" in Revelation 1:8; 21:6; and in 22:13, where Jesus identifies himself as "the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" in red words.

    There's more:

Isaiah 44:6 "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God".

Isaiah 48:12 "I am he; I am the first, I also am the last"

Jesus is the Word, a prime mover, who speaks in unison with the Great God Almighty.

    John 10:30 sums it up.
