Discuss Job 1 Page 6

Chris, on Page 1 & 2. Thank you for your response and for continuing the conversation. I like controversy and ambiguity in a discussion, because it allows you to explore further and examine yourself and the substance of your beliefs.

That said, you have correctly outlined my points in page 1. They are, as you summarized:

    1. All things have been created for Christ

    2. The Future does not exist

    3. The Future is created by God, for His Purpose

    4. We are not the object of creation, Christ is

    5. Corruption was an inevitable consequence of creation

    6. God created to eradicate corruption

In Page 2 you ask and I cite some Scriptures:

    A. Was Christ in God's initial Plan of creation? Titus 1:2, 2 Tim 1:9, Rom 8:17f, Eph 1:4, 3:10-11, Isa 44-48

    B. Did God create man so Christ could come to save him from sin's penalty? Heb 10:5, Gal 3:16, Rom 11:36

    C. Why create man? Did God of necessity have to create man? Heb 2, Gal 3:16

    D. Does God support evil to accomplish His Plan? Rom 9:22-24

    E. And what about Satan? Did God put him in the Garden to tempt man? Genesis 2, Job 1:12, Matt 4:1, Lk 4:2

In Ephesians 3:10-11 Paul opens a window so we can get a glimpse of why God created mankind. It was to make the Wisdom of God known to "the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms". That is a lot to absorb. And how was that Purpose accomplished? Through Christ. In 1Cor 4:9, 15:50f, 1Pet 1:12 we see that our human existence is only part of what comprises the Mystery of God's Purpose, which includes more than just us. Nevertheless, everything hinges on humanity. So, for the Purpose of God concerning all of creation, Christ came into the world. There is a war raging in the spiritual realm, we know nothing about.

I'll try to address your questions A-E in the next post. They are complex and not easy to answer. But I will try. What I want everyone to keep in mind is, as Rom 11:36 says, all things were created 'from him and through him and for him are all things'.

Care to learn true holiness hearken here Isa9:5 Dan 9:7 let me and GOD set you free !!!!!!! From their confusion and Jesus's Mark 10:18 and John 13:13 he says none is good (lies) proof Gen 6:9 . Job 1:1.6.8.12 also note Job1:6 sons of GOD
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Galatians 6 - 4 years ago
Read Job 38 which tells you the Sons of God shouted for joy at the foundation (creation) of the earth.

Adam did not exist until 6 days after the earth was created. So how can the sons of God be godly men?

since when do godly men marry ungodly women and then giants are born to them?

John 1:14 Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God.

Luke 3:38 Adam is called a son of God since God created him.

1 John 3:1 Believers do not become Sons of God till they are born of the Spirit.

So who was the Father of the angels? would they not be Sons of God also?

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

I know most churches will argue with me and claim Genesis 6 is not referring to angels and I say they are wrong.

when do believers and unbelievers get married and have giants for kids?

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God IN HEAVEN.

You know in Job 1:6-12, satan stops off at Gods throne and asks to trouble Job till he curses God. This indicates that satan can afflict Christians. He has a will and uses it. That's Old Testament and we live in New Testament now. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the Saints. He is our Advocate, counsellor, etc. We need to be talking and listening (prayer) to The Lord.

What are we listening to TV, radio shows, Facebook, Twitter etc. None of them preach a word to save a soul; heal the sick-anything. Your faith is on life support and you think God is allowing problems launched at you. Turn off the World and Tune into God. He is your Life support. Jesus is too

Actually in Isaiah chapter 14:12-16, satan says I WILL 5 times!

God is not destroying people's lives. One of satans other names is: DESTROYER. And he is the ACCUSER of the brethern. Revelation 12:10, Job 1:6,12 and Zechariah 3:1

Part of our problem is that we do not trust God. We think he does all the painful things. Like why is he allowing satan to get near us? Hear that accusatory question? Or, why doesn't Jesus just heal everybody? Why does bad things happen to good people?
There is the WILL of God. God gave free will to mankind in the garden of Eden. Satan has a will too. He's not going to do anything good with it. Read Job 1. He's defeated. Intercede for loved ones.

Something I do is read all the red scriptures in my Bible. I wanna imprint what Jesus does, what he says. Something really happens to your perception. He doesn't argue, debate or nitpick.

    Son of God
"The plural, "sons of God," is used ( Gen. 6:2, 4) to denote the" pious descendants of Seth. In Job 1:6; 38:7 this name is applied to the angels.

I don't know. If Satan wasn't here to temp us we could all live a pure life as Jesus wants us to live.
  • Adam - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
That's a good question and the Bible doesn't seem to offer a clear explanation of that. It says Satan will be destroyed in the end. In the meantime Satan shows evil in the world, a clear contrast from good. Makes good and evil easy to distinguish. So perhaps that is utilized in a sense for people to choose who they want to follow. Why do you think he exists?
  • T F H - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
Adam why does God allow Satan to exist?

The story of Job is difficult. It wants us to believe in certain Godly behaviors which contradict all that we have been taught.

Part 3: In Job 1:6 the angels sons of God were congregating, along with Satan and his angels. We know it was off-world by the language used visiting Earth, up and down it, etc as angels are only beings capable of interstellar travel not men. Also read Luke 10:18 "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven" which ties-in verse 7 "But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes".

Look at things in the spirit Job knows he is a spirit and the body doesn't last. He wants to be with God forever like all of us who know this truth.
  • Adam - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
Thomas, you replied to my comment which already answered your question. Did you not look up the first verse? Other examples are easily found through search, like John 14:6, John 3:16, etc. A Christian is a follower of Christ. If you do not follow Christ, you're not a Christian. If you're not a Christian you won't enter heaven, no matter how 'good' you claim to be. Matthew 7:21-23 is proof.

All I can say is have a good trip. I pray that sometime, someway, your eyes and ears will open to the greatness of God. I can't tell you what to believe or what church to go to for learning more of God's teaching but I am betting you will someday go to your knees and ask God's forgivness for judging Him who created you. May God bless you.

"A Christian is a man, woman, or child who has experienced a spiritual new birth through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. That new birth is a gift of God, through Jesus Christ, given by the grace He freely offers to all". Anyone who lives a good life as directed by Jesus would be considered a Christian. No church, No organization and No Temple makes a Christian. It is between God and man.
  • Thomas F Hills - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
For Christ sake, all you speak of is material possessions when innocent servants, animals and all ten children were slaughtered by the premeditated acts of God working with Satan. Do we not morn for the loss of lives. Can we not question for what was to be gained other than a man still standing for his faith. Did you know Job didn't know God was behind this plot?
  • Thomas F Hills - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
Adam, Where does it say that one must become a Christian to have eternal life?
  • Thomas F Hills - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
Ruben, I don't know what I believe. I honestly envy those who can go through life thinking that God is watching over his children but it is so very hard to do when you see all of the crimes committed by man without any intervention for the life of the innocents. And you know, it wasn't just Job, what about his servants, children and the poor animals? Satan lost nothing, only a bet.
  • Adam - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
"All sins have been forgiven forever. So, everyone will go to heaven, everyone. I guess Satan or no Satan, it doesn't matter."

These 3 sentences are untrue. Romans 10:9, John 1:9 One must become a Christian follow Jesus to be saved. Matthew 7:13-14 - most WILL NOT be saved and will go to hell. One of satan's lies is to convince people he doesn't matter or doesn't exist 1 Peter 5:8, 1 John 3:8.
  • Ruben Hartness - In Reply on Job 1 - 5 years ago
This isn't a sport--God proved to the world He is LORD. He proved to Satan that Satan could NOT win a true believer over no matter the trial. He knew Job fit that description. Job never lost faith, have you? Yes Job suffered but he is now in the bosom of Abraham and Satan is in the pit. God loves His children and doesn't play games. Upgrade your faith to understand. It's your discernment.
