Gigi, curious how you interpret these verses. Jeremiah 19:5 "They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:" Jeremiah 32:35 "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." Genesis 6:6 "And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart."
I'm not sure if your question was about GOD or man. I will try my best to answer it. Ironically " ambiguous " meaning double meaning._._
I think that GOD's WORD the Bible is clear, when we study, & pray for wisdom. James 1:5,
1st GOD gave people dominion: Genesis 1:26,27,28, = power, dominion ect. Within 2nd Generation & continued; 1st crime: Genesis 4:6-9, & Genesis 4:23, dominion with disregard for others, even anothers very life. Genesis 6:5, Exodus 1:8,13,16,22, even disregard for life of children
Even then though GOD doesn't disregard HE repayed. Exodus 12:29, Exodus 13:15, notice the whole chapter of Exodus 12, points to John 3:15,16,17, Again people with dominion & power disregarding life of innocent: Luke 22:1,2,7,20,54,63,64, continued; Luke 23:1,2,15,21,33,34,
Also: they killed their own children, Leviticus 18:21, Leviticus 20:1-8, that GOD had destroyed nations for that sin! 1Kings 11:7, 2Kings 23:10,
Jeremiah 32:35, ( how? ) it's unimaginable even to GOD ALMIGHTY ! Jeremiah 7:31, Jeremiah 19:5, 2Chronicles 33:9, 1Kings 11:1-12, Deuteronomy 6:14, Deuteronomy 7:1-8, why? Was it because they destroyed the children, had disregard for innocent lives of their own offspring? Images of GOD
Psalms 82:6, in context Psalms 82,
GOD will Judge: Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 18:5,6,10,14, Matthew 19:14, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2, 2Peter 2:7-9, Psalms 9:7,

There will be suffering here on Earth but promises to those who endure, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Revelation 10, 2Timothy 2:3, Revelation 6:9-11,

Deuteronomy 27:25 "cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person; and all the people shall say, Amen"

Matthew 5:25 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body cast into GEHENNA (translated hell).
When Jesus was on earth Gehenna was the dump ground for Jerusalem where all the trash, garbage and bodies of dead criminals was dumped. It was on fire to DESTROY. Worms were there eating the dead flesh. As long as there was new fuel being dumped there, the worms never died nor was the fire ever quenched. It's a city park now, the is no longer worms or a fire.
Jesus was using Gehenna as an analogy, not something literal. If Jesus meant for you to take it literally, why aren't you missing eyes, hands and feet, that you have cut off and plucked out, to stay out of HELL.

Hi David. Do you mean, 'did Jesus ever repent of some sin He committed'? The clear & conclusive answer to that, would be, NO. No sin was ever imputed to Him nor found in Him, as much as there were many accusers claiming Him to have done wrong or broken God's Laws. 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21-24; 1 John 3:4,5.
However, if you mean, 'did Jesus ever repent (or, change His mind) for something He did or said', again the answer would be, NO. There have been others who purportedly have found instances of Jesus 'changing His Mind', but from what I've found, those were baseless 'proofs'.
Jeremiah 19:9 literally says, And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and in the desperation, with which their enemies, and those who seek their lives, shall drive them to despair.
I don't see how Jeremiah 19:9 backs up what you are saying about the Covid vaccine? This is not the first time we have gone through a pandemic, and it seems like every time we do, we hear people say this is the end of the world, the mark of the beast, and such.
I think Jeremiah 19:9 may have already been fulfilled. When Jesus rode into Jerusalem, basically He was saying that in 40 years this city is going to be taken by the Roman Army. One of the things that happened was the Roman Army cut off their food supply and wouldn't let anybody out. And they were starving to death.
And there are historical accounts of people eating their children as a means to eat because they were in despair because their food supply was cut off and they refused to give up to the Romans. They refused to give up even to the point of eating their own children just to stay alive.
I believe that's what that verse is referring to, unrelated to Covid or the vaccine.
Divide and conquer is the strategy of the elite, just like what's happening now!
Mark my words, the vaccine will separate the righteous and the wicked, the Godly and the Godless.
It is the manifestation of the separation.
It has begun, and it will reveal who is who.
It will show who trusts in God, and who doesn't.
Wake up people, before it's to late...
This vaccine will make people think evil continually, So when there is food shortages, because those who take 4 vaccines and survive, and think evil continually, they will surely eat one another!
My backup - ( Jeremiah 19:9 kjv)
And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, where with there enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straitened them.
In Jeremiah 19, we read about people who engage in literal child sacrifices to their false god, BAAL. This is also referred to as causing their children to pass through the fires of MOLECH. This was a horrible practice and a distortion and perversion of the final, atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for the remissions of sin.
During times of intense warfare where cities are laid siege, the trapped population would be starved out. It became so bad that some people would resort to cannibalism in the face of prolonged starvation as a result of long sieges. This was punishment for enemies that were cruel and relentless in their persecution of others. I suppose that eventually all their bad deeds catch up with them. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Sometimes you have to use Google for a Commentary.
I think your relative was horrified an marked it. Google those heathen deities to read of that culture.
I just opened a family bible I inherited and it is the only passage highlighted. It's a bit grim... and I would love to hear more about it in context from a scholar.
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Jeremiah 19:4
Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
See also Jeremiah 31:15 This happened in Bethlehem after Mary and Joseph had left to flee into Egypt because Herod was seeking to kill newborn Jesus.
Bill sometimes those words meaning Lord or King is associated with satanism.
Baal meant Lord and was so associated with satanism the Lord said not to call him that anymore.
Judges 2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
Judges 8:33 And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.
Jeremiah 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind: (CHILD SACRIFICES)
Hosea 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
1 Kings 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
2 Kings 23:13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.
What is this "original Hebrew" stuff? Do you want to call the God of Heaven a name associated with Devils?
God's greatest gifts to mankind are as follows: life, choice, salvation. That's the correct sequence as well. For those confused on God's perspective toward those who choose to reject Him, may I remind you that nowhere in His Word do I read that He laments or regrets casting out Lucifer and the third of His God angels who followed him in rebellion. Compassionate God? Yes. Jealous God? Yes. Holy and righteous God? Absolutely!
God didn t make them eat there Children s! What they was serving made them eat there Children s! Remember when Christ was on the cross ! Some sins are so bad Teal God turns his head. We as a people! Want what we want ! Even though we been warned ! I have heard men say or theologian say ! We are little God s ! Some humans always try to find away to use God s words and promises against God !
To Irene 123 and Lu2677 you are both right, according to the bible. But we must remember God loves the sinner, but he hates sin. Jesus died to take our sins away. God is not going against his people, but they chose to go against God word, and become an God enemy. The people refuse to return to god in repentance and seek forgiveness. Therefore, God punishment is their reward for their sins of evil
Rosie - To you with Jesus love, please believe that: YOU cannot increase your faith; Jesus has to do it, by our attending services together with others of like mind. Heb. 10:25; Rom. 10:8 THROUGH 14, taking NOTE of vs. 13
I just looked up 'son of Hinnom' in Easton's Bible dict.; it was a deep 'ravine', right close to Solomon's Temple, used to make their (idolatrus Jews) children to pass through the fire to Molech, Baal, Chemosh, whatever god they were worshipping at the time.
Irene 123, Read my post again please. I did not say you used Jeremiah 19:9, I am using it and I asked you if you thought he made him eat their children because he hated them? The CONTEXT of this verse is that God's wrath was on them. And I do not see "had no food" in this chapter. So, can you accept correction that He does hate sinners? V.9"I will cause them to eat the flesh of their children.
LU2677 - I couldn't find the verse you said I used; I even went to Jer. 19 back pgs., but there's nothing there. This chap. tho' is referring to the Babylonian captivity. The siege of Jerusalem caused such a food shortage that the Israelites were eating their children. But, you have to realize - they were FAR from God. They had been worshipping Baal for yrs. and sacrificing their kids to him.
Irene, In previous post I said,"More verse to prove I'm wrong"That sounds vain, I repent. I will accept God's word for correction. I will surely repent when his word shows that I have erred. I believe all of his word is holy scripture; Truth.
Bruce, Psalms 33:6-11 V.8"Let all the earth fear the Lord: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him."Awe=dread-terror,the power to inspire dread."God has the power, all things are possible with Him. Jeremiah 19:9 (inspires awe in the context of tremble with terror) I stand in awe of Him.I hope you see my other posts; His word is all I seek.May the Lord give you understanding,I hope.
I.123Jeremiah19:9,I answered yours, please answer mine. Can you say that what God did in this verse shows that he hated them? Can you say all the destruction that God will bring to all the sinners when it's all over and this earth is destroyed is because He hates them? A simple yes or no is all I'm asking for.More verse to prove I'm wrong only proves you do not believe God. And He is listening. Amen
Indeed GOD has never changed his laws (commandments) they have and will remain the same always. I do believe like Dee that our disobedience is in this current era. I am trying so hard to be better at making my faith stronger
