Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; James 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

We are to realize that words are powerful, they are seeds sown in the hearts and minds of the hearer they can make or destroy the recipient. Therefore if our words edifices or minister grace to the hearer then we are walking in maturity.

Wisdom is the application of knowledge. If we possess the wisdom Of God then these are some of the qualities that should be ready be seen in us By others. Our association is pure, we are reasonable in our dealings, we pursue peace with others, and we are merciful In actions to assist others.

In this world that we now live in many a good man is condemned for speaking the truth. Also far to many evil men are praised and held in high esteem for speaking lies. Evil is rewarded far to often, we all need to follow are hearts ', for it is in our heart that the word of God is written.

George J LaHood Jr, Since you 're studying meditating on Ephesians 4 and specifically are interested in "communication " and what comes "out of the mouth ", I urge you to check out James 3:13, Luke 6:45 and Proverbs 10:10 because these parts of Scripture speak directly to communication.
  • George Rivera on James 3:8 - 9 years ago
James says it so well, I hardly know what to add. I have learned this scripture as I have seen myself embellishing, which is lying. And I understand Paul 's struggles against the first. The older I get and the more I read the bible, the greater my understanding. Many lives have been lost over lies. Blessed be the name of the Lord God of Heaven.

Mathew 12 37 "...by thy words thou salt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned... " Likewise, see James 3:13 "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation... " and Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that wich is good...for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. " Also Pro. 10:10 "...With the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " See Pro. 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue... " and James 3:10 "Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. " My understanding of all these is that a curse is more than just a 4-letter word. It can be an act that invokes harm to another or it can be an act of profanity, i.e. implying content of religious things th4ru speech or action. I encourage readers with prayer for understanding first to re-read what the world calls "The Lord 's Prayer " in this regard, referencing this prayer with Heb. 2:14-15 and Col. 1:13

Its a great word from God. How we must tame the tonque. If we are to do that then we can be called true Christians. Verse 18:and that which come from God is peaceful. What kind of wisdom come from our minds? Are they gracious to bring righteousness and peace? If not then its from the flesh. God help us all, especially ME

The words pierce deep into the core of the heart, and thus, exposes to us the magnitude of responsibility shouldered on anyone who preaches the Word of God, as such, greater responsibility demands greater accountability. This is why we should always seek the Grace of God 's protection in order to continue living a life of purity ... May the Lord Almighty continue to bless and keep us safe in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Amen .
  • Baraka mollel on James 3 - 10 years ago
In 3 18,this means that there can 't be peace somewhere unless the fruit of righteousness is sown there and this is only possible through people who want peace to reign in the world

Man offend not in word is a perfect man means when u are a child of God u are careful what comes out of your mouth If u know God u would not go around offending people some people don 't care what they say if it comes to their minds they will speak it u must remember the tongue is deadly it can speak nasty, bitter things so when u pray and think before u speak God will tell u what to speak God can see what we cannot at all time.remember sometime the devil speaks though people.he can only live in a body where there is NO God or holy Ghost because the devil is a Spirit going to and forth in the airway to see who body he can live in make sure he is not living in your body choose Jesus Christ he died so u could have life. That Real true love

l believe every word that James Chapte 3 says, the power of death is in the tongue .So be very careful of how you speak, and the things you say.
  • Rosemary Curtis on James 3 - 10 years ago
As ministers of GOD 's WORD we have the resposibility to live the gospel. Not just by the words we preach, but by the ACTION behind the words. It is just as detrimental to preach the inerrant WORD of God and live a life that is contrary to its teachings. This brings to my remembrance, of what the WORD OF GOD says, about us giving account of EVERY idle WORD we speak, will be accounted for in the day of JUDGMENT.
