It is very WRONG to tell Christians that they will be put to death if they try to keep the Commandments and fail. Nowhere in scripture does it plainly state that. Many false preachers/teachers have spread that vicious LIE.
James 3:2 protects us from such an awful, and abominable, lie.

For the 1st time I thought of a "worldly answer " to this question as I saw your question & was beginning to read the response. So, I thought I should share my thought. The bigger the 'free' gift in this world the bigger the responsibility= a baby, a car, a house, property as land, a boat. Every gift has to 1st be received then there's caring for or neglecting the gift/s. Even small gifts like a card, pan, food, potted flowers or pet. Each can be little or much obligation. How then do we think there could be no obligation to salvation? Even a gifted vehicle needs gas & care in driving it or it's useless in the world. I first thought of a vehicle, but then house property etc. Even in this world if 'gifts' aren't tended to they not only can be lost, they can, when not properly maintained cause much damage & loss to others. Like negligence causing fire, in a house, car or property. With Salvation GOD even mentions how our tongues can be. James 3:5-18, James 1:26-27,
James 1:17, yet GOD's gifts are perfect. Unlike our worldly gifts.

In1 Corinthians 2:6-16, the natural man is compared to the spiritual man and the carnal man. Verse 14 says, "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (NASB). This verse does not define the natural man, as such; rather, it uses the term to describe one who does not understand God's words and thoughts. The one who can understand God's words is a "spiritual" man (verse 15).
Dr. Henry Morris, in theNew Defender's Study Bible, gives this comment on verse 14: "The 'natural' man, still unsaved, cannot appreciate spiritual truths. He must first understand Christ's atoning sacrifice for him, but even that is 'foolishness' to him (1:18) until the Holy Spirit Himself convicts him of its reality ( John 16:7-11)." Basically, the "natural" man is one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit" ( John 3:6).
Let's look at some other uses in the Bible of the wordnatural. InRomans 11:21we read, "For if God did not spare thenaturalbranches, neither will He spare you." In1 Corinthians 15:44-46, "It is sown anaturalbody, it is raised aspiritual body. If there is anaturalbody, then there is also a spiritual body. However the spiritual is not first, but thenatural; then the spiritual." Ezekiel 44:31speaks of anaturaldeath. Daniel 10:8speaks of anaturalcolor. James 1:23speaks of anaturalface, andJames 3:15states, "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly,natural, demonic."

Matthew 10:28 And fear them not which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul: but fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Brother Dan the word translated hell in this verse is the word Gehenna.
The Old Testament refers to this as Hinnon, a valley outside of Jerusalem's walls, at the time Christ was on earth this valley was used as the cities dump.
The garbage and trash and the dead bodies of criminals were thrown here.
They had fire burning in that dump and worms were there eating the flesh of dead bodies. Where the worm never dies and the fire is never quenched.
Christ was using Gehenna fire to show how he uses judgement to destroy the trash and unwanted things in our lives.
That fire is now quenched and those worms are gone, because that dump site is now a city park.
If the translators had left the word Gehenna in the verse, as they left it in tact in the Old Testament, instead of changing it to the word hell. There would not be so much deception.

When Jesus was on earth Gehenna was the dump ground for Jerusalem where all the trash, garbage and bodies of dead criminals was dumped. It was on fire to DESTROY. Worms were there eating the dead flesh. As long as there was new fuel being dumped there, the worms never died nor was the fire ever quenched. It's a city park now, the is no longer worms or a fire.
Jesus was using Gehenna as an analogy, not something literal. If Jesus meant for you to take it literally, why aren't you missing eyes, hands and feet, that you have cut off and plucked out, to stay out of HELL.

First thing 2 Peter 1;20+21 No prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation[that which is forthtold or foretold], second prophecy has already been given of whats going to happen in the world to unbelievers that is what the gospel is for.
If someone goes on t.v. and says God is telling him there's someone watching out there with weak heart and if 8 million people are viewing chances are someone with that condition will be listening. In James 3:1, James starts out by saying "My brethren." So he's talking to Jewish believers. He says be not many masters. The word masters is the word teachers. And the word "be" is literally the word become in the Greek text. That is very important!
He is not restraining called teachers to teach. Our English bibles say be not many teachers, but in the Greek text, it is literally do not become many teachers.
He's talking about the ambitious ones who want to teach. In the synagogue, when it came to the reading of scripture, they would ask someone to come up and read the scripture and give a homily or a message on the scripture for that week.
And so people in the congregation would prepare all week long so they could be the teacher. So James says, my brethren, do not become many teachers, knowing that we shall receive (And notice the word "we" because James includes himself). James says we shall receive the greater condemnation.
There's more responsibility for those who teach. If a person is not called by God to be a teach God's word, they should not teach. A person should never go into the ministry out of their own human ambition. It has to be a calling from God. But as James is saying here, the teacher is going to held accountable for what he is teaching, and those who are in error are going to receive the greater condemnation.

Oseas I have yet to see a reply from you that's all positive and shares scripture like Phil. 4:8, James 3:17, Galatians 5:20, I'm very aware of our enemies tactics and our spiritual warfare, I choose not to give Him any more attention than He's already got besides people need to Hear more about the love of God in Christ. Remember Romans 2:4 its the goodness of God that leadeth to repentance, Jesus Christ taught and displayed Gods Love and light, that was the attraction, not if you don't believe this your toast. Let's look at some other uses in the Bible of the wordnatural. InRomans 11:21we read, "For if God did not spare thenaturalbranches, neither will He spare you." In1 Corinthians 15:44-46, "It is sown anaturalbody, it is raised aspiritual body. If there is anaturalbody, then there is also a spiritual body. However the spiritual is not first, but thenatural; then the spiritual." Ezekiel 44:31speaks of anaturaldeath. Daniel 10:8speaks of anaturalcolor. James 1:23speaks of anaturalface, andJames 3:15states, "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly,natural, demonic."

usage of words with semantic accuracy and your response will be the spirit reveals. The spirit is not
loaded with contention and strife with words, its supposed to be simple believing in the deliverance of
Jesus Christ. For me this is over and no response will make sense!
Matthew 10:28 And fear them not which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul: but fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Brother Dan the word translated hell in this verse is the word Gehenna.
The Old Testament refers to this as Hinnon, a valley outside of Jerusalem's walls, at the time Christ was on earth this valley was used as the cities dump.
The garbage and trash and the dead bodies of criminals were thrown here.
They had fire burning in that dump and worms were there eating the flesh of dead bodies. Where the worm never dies and the fire is never quenched.
Christ was using Gehenna fire to show how he uses judgement to destroy the trash and unwanted things in our lives.
That fire is now quenched and those worms are gone, because that dump site is now a city park.
If the translators had left the word Gehenna in the verse, as they left it in tact in the Old Testament, instead of changing it to the word hell. There would not be so much deception.
Brother Dan, the word Gehenna is used 11 time in the bible and translated as hell.
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is it among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and is set on fire OF GEHENNA (translated hell).
Brother Dan, the WORKS in your body are not you WORKS, their God's works, you gave you life, for Christ's LIFE, now it's no longer you, but CHRIST IN YOU, doing the WORKS.

When Jesus was on earth Gehenna was the dump ground for Jerusalem where all the trash, garbage and bodies of dead criminals was dumped. It was on fire to DESTROY. Worms were there eating the dead flesh. As long as there was new fuel being dumped there, the worms never died nor was the fire ever quenched. It's a city park now, the is no longer worms or a fire.
Jesus was using Gehenna as an analogy, not something literal. If Jesus meant for you to take it literally, why aren't you missing eyes, hands and feet, that you have cut off and plucked out, to stay out of HELL.

None of the scriptures have anything to do with the CHRISTIAN HELL.

itself, I think of a man that loves something that's worked well i.e. car, tool etc. Wisdom she is worth great treasure to
those who love her and apply. It is very interesting that in nerse 17 there are eight manifested or shown in someones walk of Gods wisdom and 8 biblically signifies spiritual perfection. These are trsaits in people who endeavor to walk
in Christ Jesus via the spirit.

The Apostle Paul to the Galatian church said if I or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel let them be accursed . First thing 2 Peter 1;20+21 No prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation[that which is forthtold or foretold], second prophecy has already been given of whats going to happen in the world to unbelievers that is what the gospel is for.
If someone goes on t.v. and says God is telling him there's someone watching out there with weak heart and if 8 million people are viewing chances are someone with that condition will be listening. Once the words I'm not sure or it wasn't clear no dice the true God is always clear and specific, no confusion.
Revelation or specific knowledge from God will always fit with scripture James 3:17 also most revelation either to deliver a person to get them born again which is a glory to God or to protect defend and edify the church which is a Glory to God

In James 3:1, James starts out by saying "My brethren." So he's talking to Jewish believers. He says be not many masters. The word masters is the word teachers. And the word "be" is literally the word become in the Greek text. That is very important!
He is not restraining called teachers to teach. Our English bibles say be not many teachers, but in the Greek text, it is literally do not become many teachers.
He's talking about the ambitious ones who want to teach. In the synagogue, when it came to the reading of scripture, they would ask someone to come up and read the scripture and give a homily or a message on the scripture for that week.
And so people in the congregation would prepare all week long so they could be the teacher. So James says, my brethren, do not become many teachers, knowing that we shall receive (And notice the word "we" because James includes himself). James says we shall receive the greater condemnation.
There's more responsibility for those who teach. If a person is not called by God to be a teach God's word, they should not teach. A person should never go into the ministry out of their own human ambition. It has to be a calling from God. But as James is saying here, the teacher is going to held accountable for what he is teaching, and those who are in error are going to receive the greater condemnation.
