For this is the love of God: This is the kind of love that God desire of us our entire day-by-day life must be molded by the commandments of God 2 John 1:6. That we keep his commandments: The commandments of God as delineated in Exodus 20:3-17 must be the defining standard of our lives and we must adhere totally to it, for it is the only litmus test of determining whether we are Christians or not. According to James 2:10, if we are err in any of it, then we are guilty of all. A lawyer of the Pharisees extraction once ask Christ a tempting question Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus answered him by summarizing the content of the two tables of stones that Moses collected from God thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. He when further to add that And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:35-39. The phrase, the second is like unto it signifies that Exodus 20:3-11 which spells our relationship with God cannot be complete without Exodus 20:12-17 which spells our relationship with our neighbour. We cannot claim to love God if we don t love our brother whom we are seeing 1 John 4:20-21.

RNM, That is what I said I. You talk a lot about the Sabbath day being on Saturday and not on the first day of the week which most Christian churches in the US and much of the rest of the world celebrate as the resurrection day of or Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ or Sunday. Going back to the of creation at the end of the Sixth day when all creation was complete God saw all and said it was good and it was no sin. I also quoted James 2:18 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and come down from the Father of lights.... We know that Jesus said Satan is a murderer and the father of all lies in John therefore, it appear to me that the Scripture Said that Luficer invented sin and I believe is saying that all evil diseases is his creation is what I meant by sin creates diseases. I concur with you on the fact that Jehovah uses even evilbeings to bring about His will and purposes on planet earth. I will therefore give Satan credit for creating diseases. God bless us all and in the understanding of His Word. Glory be to almighty God in the highest. Amen.

RNM please refer to my reply to your post in Revealation 22. The word trinity might not be in the original biblical text but it mean three which is consistent which John 1:1 in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word Jesus Christ was God. James 2:10 is merely testifying to the necessity of a Saviour for sinners because no sinner can keep the whole law because the law of God is perfect. Jesus tell is when he offended the Pharisees when He constantly heal people on Saturday declaring that the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. God bless us all in understanding of His Word.
  • RNM 1-4-15 GEN on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
GEN 1-4-15...I know SISTER KATE, you think you are on top of this trinity concept, but to tell you the truth that word is not in the original manuscript it was added to the Bible from an outside source. So I would not presume that it is carved in stone. The fact is, just in this one scripture I will show you something which should make you raise questions about the trinity doctrine yourself. in Rev 4:5... And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Here it is plainly stating that their are 7 spirits of God before His Throne. By limiting God to this man made DOCTRINE being the trinity, man in his own way has set his own limitations on God 's own abilities to be able to have limitless forms or beings of himself, which in my opinion is blasphemous, nothing new though, mankind is real good at that. No different than how man blasphemes God every sunday, claiming it to be God 's Sabbath, when we know the true Sabbath is the 7th day. If we disobey God 's Holy Sabbath, do you really believe His Spirit will dwell in a disobedient Vessel? In the book of James 2:10...For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Why would James even make such a statement unless we are bound to keep all 10 Commandments. In Revelations it says Satan has deceived the whole world. No one is excluded! Just some things to think about AMEN!!

To except Jesus as Lord and God as the Father is an invitation to the Kingdom of God. The body without the Spirit is dead.To receive and believe the witness of the Spirit confirms the testimony of Christ by the Laws and the Prophets and confirms the covenant and promises of God in the Heart of the believer. With comfort, guidance and teaching of the Truth of God 's Word. Lastly The Spirit is our Peace and is God the Father Himself. Every believer must be taught by God!!! Can a man be saved by faith alone???

Part 2 NENE. Now James is addressed to the twelve tribes. See verse 1. We know that there is a doctrinal change after Philemon because there is a distinguishing of Jews and gentiles again. Hence the twelve tribes. Under Paul's church age doctrine, there is no difference when you are saved Gal 3:28. James is addressed doctrinally to the Jews in the tribulation. See Revelation 7:4 for example. Now the Bible can 't contradict so we read in James 2:14 that justification is by works then in Romans 3:24,4:24, and 5:1 Justification by faith. Which is it? Paul is our spokesman for today Rom 11:15,16:4, 1Tim 2:7,2 Tim 1:11,2:7,etc. So for the church age justification is by faith alone Eph 2:8-9. After the church is caught out 1 Thess 4:16-18 the Holy Spirit will again deal much like the O.T. and salvation can be lost again and one must endure to be saved. See Matt 24:13, Heb 3:6,14, etc. You don 't have to endure to be saved in the church age, Christ will make sure you endure 1 Cor 1:8 and you are sealed Eph 1:18,4:30. Hope this helps.

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, One Baptism meaning One way to be baptized in water. In Matthew 3:11-17 is where John baptized Jesus in water as a demonstration for us to follow if you notice Jesus told John for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness and this was done with Water. Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the Water, both Philip and the eunuch and he baptized him. 1Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: faith without works is dead James 2:14-17 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Not by faith only James 2:24 the Bible does say we shall by faith but it says the Just not the Unjust can live by faith because they are still lost until they obey then they can live by faith .
  • NENE on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Jacob read James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? not alone, Vs.18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. And yes the Bible does state that we shall live by faith but notice in Romans 1: 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The JUST shall live by faith. The word JUST means the people of God and in Proverbs 11:7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth. UNJUST means people who do not walk with Jesus 2Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: The Law was written for our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ and yes we are saved by grace after receiving the Holy Ghost. God Bless!

James 2:26 throws out the doctrine of Dichotomy! For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. KJV The body is born with a soul and is alive physically, but dead spiritually. You notice it didn 't mentioned the soul, it is too obvious! Spirit doesn 't dwell in dead bodies. They have to be alive and active to do good or evil. Then satan and demons would be eradicated if that we 're so. I therefore am persuaded of the Trichotomy doctrine.
  • Sherry on James 2:17 - 10 years ago
It think it is analogus to the Tree faith and its fruit good works . For just 'proclaiming ' one has faith and bearing no tangible evidence is of no use. The Lord himself tells us to 'test ' the spirit by its fruit. God does indeed look for the fruit and then cuts it down if it has not borne any. So i think, yeah, of course....you can 't speak of doing good without authentic Faith in the first place. But its more like a call to Action. In short, 2 Cor 5:7 the benchmark .. James 2:17 the sure test for far sighted vision! :-
  • Rosalind on James 2:17 - 10 years ago
The scriptures says without faith it is impossible to please God so of course without faith you can 't inherit eternal life, especially if your still in sin and Jesus who is holy.. he wants nothing to do with sin unless a man or women repents and is born of water and spirit then they will receive eternal life.
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
The sabbath was for Israel because they require a sign 1 Cor 1:22. Moreover also I gave them my SABBATHS to be a SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. Ez 20:12. And madest known unto them they holy SABBATH, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by thy hand of Moses thy servant: Neh 9:14. If you keep one point of the law you have to keep it all, James 2:10. Do you work on the Sabbath? Death then see Ex 35:2. Do you start your car on the Sabbath? That 's starting a fire on the Sabbath. Death for you then Ex 35:3. Thank the Lord for dying on the cross for our sins. He kept the whole because we couldn't do it. Trust Him not yourself. Wonder why Paul the apostle to the Gentiles Rom 11:13, left out the Sabbath in Romans 13:9. Verse 8 says :for he that love another has fulfilled the law. Whaaaaat? Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God and every one that love is born of God, and known God.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Romans 1 - 10 years ago
Hello John: The word of God is written to the saved, those individuals who have put on the name of Jesus Christ by following Acts 2: 38. Paul is speaking to the Roman church. In verse 17 the word just refers to the saved. If you read verse 16 you will get that understanding. This is not saying that people in general do not have faith. A person can have faith but alone it is dead. A person has to have works to make it alive. Just to believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and not follow Acts 2: 38, a person is still lost. The Bible states in James 2: 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone . The devils believe and tremble, James 2: 19 Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. So just believing is not enough. Just to say I believe in my heart and accept God this alone does not save you.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
I rewrote Part 1 of 3: Part 1 of 3: Hello Jacob: James 2: 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? The scripture is still valid, because it is the truth and the word of God, John 17: 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth . The 12 men were not saved, this was the purpose of Paul rebaptizing them and laying his hands on them. It also shows the importance of have Acts 2: 38.

The best demonstration of love is by GIVING, God demonstrated His love by Giving, therefore we can 't prove the love of God without our giving and sacrifices.
  • Tim George on James 2:1 - 10 years ago
Have not the faith in our Lord of glory, with respect of person. We must Love all people the same. For faith without works is dead. Abraham believed God and offered Isaac. Thus became a friend of God. We too must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and turn from sin. Love thy neighbor as thyself is the completion of the law of liberty.

This scripture gives perspective to the subject of tithing and the new testament christian for me . Pastors lean heavily on tithing the tenth but forget if you 're incorporating this tithe then the others must be included or you have offended the entire law.
  • Fairy Gear on James 2:10 - 10 years ago
We can not keep the law and Jesus knew it. he gave us two important commandments. 1 . And thou shall love the lord thy God with all thy hear, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength this is the first. 2 love thy neighbor as thyself. there is none other commandment greater than these. mark 12 30 and 31.
  • Charles Allen on James 2:6 - 10 years ago
It cannot be disputed that oppression is directly linked to lack of love and respect for another human being. Any person who has financial riches and sees another person in need of food, clothing and shelter, and looks the other way is non other than a vicious abuser. How can a rich person who shuts his or her heart to the cries of the poor, talk about love and respect? Such a person is self centered and most certainly evil. Facing the truth, there are many of these who also call themselves Christians not knowing what perfect love is all about because they reject the truth of God 's Word for the sake of money.

the biggest lesson of James ch2 is this What James said about faith without works is dead has caused a lot of confusion among some people what James is saying doesn t contradict what Paul said in Romans Ch 4 here s what James is talking about your faith in Jesus Christ can only be seen by your actions how you live your works salvation is by Grace and faith alone as Paul taught in Romans 4 and Ephesians Ch 2 8 9 and many others places there s only one path to heaven Titus 3 5 John 14 6 John 1 12 meritorious works and ordinances are an outward show of what has taken place in our hearts that only God can see because of his Son s sacrifice on the cross of Calvary James Ch 2 what the world sees and other Believers Romans 4 what only God can see
  • Ernest McCain on James 2:25 - 11 years ago
I think Paul is saying that even as sinners we can still be a believer in Christ Jesus He said even when we do good evil is always present with us Which is to say our faith alone is not going to save us so we must put the work in also To say we have Faith in God and yet we dont patiently wait on him is not putting out trust to work He said ask and it shall be given knock and the door will be opened
  • Shay on James 2:26 - 11 years ago
When a person is dead, there is no animating force, or "spirit", in him, and he accomplishes nothing. Mere professed faith is just lifeless and useless as a dead body. If we have real faith, though, it will move us to godly action.
  • BSP on James 2:13 - 11 years ago
If one refuses to be merciful in their dealing with others, they will also fail to receive mercy. This shows that we need to treat others the way we would like to be treated and show compassion to our fellow man.
