    Hi Louis.

I just noticed I sent my earlier reply incomplete.

My answer would be no to go along with what I already said. We are hidden in Christ and presented perfect by the blood of Christ and his righteousness is imputed unto us. But our walk in these bodies will never be perfect but the work by the spirit will lead us in that direction as we grow.

Our sins are within, even in our thoughts. 1 Corinthians 4:5. Hebrews 4:12.

    God bless.

    Hi Debbie.

    Colossians 2:14-17. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. These articles was a shadow of things to come.

We rest in the finish work of Christ.

Hebrews 4:2-11. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Hey GiGi,

I did not want to join in on this subject, I have discussed it before, and this is just to suggest something you may look into. You said Jesus' nature as God He could not sin. To fulfill the covenant flesh had to live a perfect life without sin to fulfill and break the curse of sin. If Jesus was incapable of sin, He could not make reconciliation for the sins.

Hebrews 2:16-18 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

He faced and was tempted just like us, Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

He lived His life with the same temptations as we do and He overcame and did not sin, He could have but He did not give in. We have a high priest that knows what we are tempted with should motivate us and strength our faith our Savior Jesus did it and He can give us support to endure our walk. He knows what it is like!!!

If I read your post wrong forgive me.

    God bless,

It says in Hebrews that the Word is "sharper than any two edged sword", referring to God's Word. Hebrews 4:12.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 3 years ago
Dear M. I agree with what some have posted here. It is hard to look at all of creation and what science has revealed to use in recent centuries to not consider that there is a creator who is much grander and powerful than us. But man's heart is hardened and unable to believe in God without faith. It is a spiritual work that allows us to believe that the God of the Bible is the only and one true God. But in Hebrews 4:12 states that "the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper that any two edged sword, even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart." and in Romans 10:17 says that "faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the word of God." This tells us that God's holy Word (Scriptures) is the vehicle God uses to bring people to faith in Him.

Therefore, we as believers should know that if we want someone to be convinced that God exists, we are to speak the truth of the Word of God to them and let God work its power in the person we are sharing with. We can trust this to be true. I hope this helps.

Possibly because it would be a moment of extreme weakness. Matthew 4:2, Luke 4:2, Hebrews 4:15,

    John 10:10,

This was also a moment of Prophetic fulfillment. Luke 4:4, Deuteronomy 8:3, John 6:58,

    Deuteronomy 6:16, Matthew 4:7, Luke 4:12, Luke 4:10-11, Psalms 91:12, Matthew 4:6,

    Exodus 34:28,

    Matthew 4:1-11, Luke 4:1-21, 22-44,

    Hopefully that helps

Brother Dan, before you can disobey you have to be given the command and with ever command comes a warning of the punishment that goes with that command.

Before you act on the command you either believe or do not believe.

If you believe and then obey, then there is no negative outcome, and no punishment.

If you don't believe and disobey, then there is a negative outcome, and punishment.

Adam and Eve had no KNOWLEDGE of what death was, so their UNBELIEF came before disobedience.

When young children are commanded by their parents not to touch the stove or it will burn them, they have no KNOWLEDGE of what being burned is. In UNBELIEF they touch the stove. Now they have KNOWLEDGE.

It was necessary and preordained that man would eat from the TREE OF KNOWLEDGE, you have to have KNOWLEDGE of hot and cold, etc., etc., everything has an opposite, so man had to have KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, they are the fruit of the same tree.

The CHURCH in the wilderness was told to search out the promise land and see for themselves that it was a land flowing with milk and honey. And God said I WILL GO BEFORE YOU and drive out the inhabitants of the land.

Upon returning all 12 said yes it was like God said, but 10 told the people there are giants in the land and they will destroy us.

But 2 told the people, yes there are giants in the land; BUT GOD SAID, he would drive them out.

The people BELIEVED man and NOT GOD. UNBELIEF CAUSES DISOBEDIEBCE.

Hebrews 3:19 We see they could not enter in because of UNBELIEF.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of UNBELIEF.

    God Bless You.

Sorry I didn't finish my thoughts completely on my posts: when trying to jump in & start observing the Sabbath I realized it wasn't just an easy decision. There is a bigger message. I quoted earlier many scriptures. It's very significant to GOD or it wouldn't be mentioned so much in Old & New Testament.

    Is it pointing to CHRIST?

Hebrews 4:8-10, Is observing the Sabbath pointing to being ready for eternity? Hebrews 4:11,

    Hebrews 4:12-16

I also noticed it says 'nor your laborers' one major thing I've observed which now saddens me is how often many will observe their own "Sabbath" either Saturday or Sunday or HOLYday/Holiday & flood into restaurants etc. overwhelmingly, then mistreat the "laborers" for example making them prepare meal while they "rested" or "worshipped", complaining about waitstaff not being attentive (while they have more people groups attending), or when 30 additional people arrive & certain favorite food isn't available. then they wonder why their "congregations" doesn't grow? If we could only get the bigger message! Jesus was directing us to LOVE, HE cares about the fatherless & widow. Example Mothers' Day: how often does the beloved Mothers get treated to meal or services 'out' being served by single 'Mothers of Fatherless children' whom GOD loves? James 1:27,

There is much to discuss & learn on this subject, I hope these were helpful to you.

Hi Tony. You may be referring to Exodus 31:12-17. This Law was given to Israel in line with Day 7 of the Days of Creation - the Day that God "rested (or, ceased) from all His work" ( Genesis 2:3). The Law, which included the keeping of the seventh day (the Sabbath), & circumcision, were the signs that made God's people a special, chosen people, unlike any other nation on Earth. As God ceased from His Work of creation, so He required His people (Israel) to set a specific day each week to also rest from their labours. And the fact that God sanctified the day (i.e. He set it apart as a special day), meant that Israel should engage themselves with other things other than going through the rigors of daily toil. So, it was a day of physical rest & also a day when their minds could re-focus on their Creator & learning more about Him.

Israel today still keep the Sabbath as required of them. But those of Judaism who have come out, finding new life & liberty in Jesus Christ & led of the Spirit are no longer under the Law ( Galatians 5:18), just as the Gentiles who are "without the Law" ( 1 Corinthians 9:21), are not required to be bound to it - to a Law that only showed man his sin & his incapability to fully obey it ( Romans 7:7 ff).

Both Jew & Gentile still need a rest day from hard toil - for the Jew, the seventh day was appointed. For the Christian, any day could be a day of physical rest. For the Jew, he went to the Temple or Synagogue on the Sabbath to worship God - for the Christian, he can worship God on any day he chooses. The early Church met on the first day of the week to worship ( Acts 20:7), fellowship & break bread together, remembering the Lord Who gave His Life for them & rose from the grave on the first day of the week. So, there is no commandment to break; the Sabbath for worship together does not apply to the Christian - some worship on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday - maybe even other days. But if Sabbath is forced upon Christians, then we have a problem.

Hi Beverly Campbell. Jesus was telling them that he was going to be crucified and taken. That the disciples would have to go to battle spiritually with the word which is sharper than any two edged sword.

Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." ... His Word is the ultimate truth, and we can find confidence in knowing it is our greatest weapon.

    I hope this helps.

Jesus told his disciples this type can only come out by fasting and prayer. It is possible to stop. If you listen to music, only listen to gospel music. Surround yourself with people! Know the things that causes it. And cast down those imaginations. Yahweh, I am stepping in the gap for Wanyama William Achuchi who struggles with an addiction. I ask you that you give Wanyama William Achuchi strength, patience, fortitude, and all the tools Wanyama William Achuchi needs to overcome this. Gigi The word tells me what my fight is and understanding of the old man nature the spirit lets me know always the correct action to take in my believing walk in Christ, I don't wake up with the mind set of a fight with the sin I gotta

focus on whats my next move God, I've learned when I sin thank God of course genuinely for forgiveness and move on absolutely no dwelling, learn from it yes but no dwelling.

In Gods eyes the word says we are saints which means separated one by the gospel I am no longer a sinner in a constant state the one I was born In I'm born again Gods Child

now I will commit sin or break fellowship but that does not make me a sinner. You can't be both. Now I'm sharing with you my heart and understanding and I'd rather believe this positive than walk around being fearful of making a mistake

which I know a lot of believers that constantly think there doing something wrong all the time. That condemnation is a trick of the devil. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us and gave Himself for us. One other point if I feel unworthy how can I do or believe Hebrews 4:16. Let us come boldly to the throne of grace[we didn't earn it we just believe it] that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. None of us are good Enough to have what we have been given, its all grace. God Bless

Hi Jean It is available for all believers to manifest or display power from on high Speaking in tongues, Jesus Christ spoke about this when addressing the samaritan woman when in John 4:23 +24 he said But the hour cometh and now is when the true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seeketh such to worship him. God is Spirit

and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth or truly by the spirit. That was the first display of

Gods spirit working on the day of pentecost birthday of the age of Grace. Some say special gift some say doesn't exist anymore some say not needed. 1 Corinthians 12 : Paul went from gift to in verse 7 to manifestation of the gift, it is a great benefit to the believer spiritually it is personal prayer between you and father not to be done out loud or out

of order because all things of God are done decent and in order This is not to say that believers who don't speak in tongues don't believe or love God, that is biblically not sound. My bible says confess Romans 10:9+10 and believe in your heart and act on Gods Word. My understanding
  • GiGi - In Reply on Hebrews 4 - 3 years ago
Hello, In the book of Acts, it seems that the gift of speaking in tongues (languages unknown to speaker) most likely manifested in believers following the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I does not say anywhere in Scripture that it always did.

The account of Paul in Acts 9:17-18 says that Ananias laid hands on Paul and the Holy Spirit caused the scales to fall from Paul's eyes, restoring is blindness from His encounter with the risen Christ. He was then baptized in water by Ananias. It does not say that Paul began to speak in tongues when he was filled with the Holy Spirit, although Paul does later say that he does speak in tongues. So, I believe that the Spirit gives diverse spiritual gifts to the body of Christ as e sees fit. Anyone who has been believed and been baptized as received the Holy Spirit. The "filling" of Holy Spirit is the Spirit equipping a person for the work He as for us to do to build up the body of Christ. It is adding spiritual power and abilities to the person to do the specific work God desires the person to carry out in ministry.

Hi Jean Hebrews 4 In regards to Speaking in tongues the wonderful works of God been doing that for 48 years

its not a over wired emotional controlled by God deal. Keep something in mind its Gods gift so you operate the gift

it does not operate you. It doesn't put you into an emotional frenzy or make you hit the floor or any of those out of

order things because the true God is a God of order. Its actually the opposite it gets you peaceful and calm on the inside. People do these things because of the examples they have seen

and believe that's the way it is that God Controls them. The True God never controls us he works in us to do of his good

will and pleasure Phil. 2:14. Last point there are biblically 12 things in scripture that S.I.T. does for the believer that's

another discussion. It is the first outward display of the spirit working on the day of pentecost also the apostle paul wrote

he thanked God he S.I.T. more than a whole assy. at corinth. That says something.

God is so wonderful; he has healed by body so many times. The doctors are amazed. I have learned that faith can carry through any situation of life. Also, why do young or new believers

have such challenges in their Christian walk? Should they be told that they are Not perfect yet

and if they era or make a mistake in their development that God is not going to discard them

and what scriptures back this up?? Also do all new believers speak with new tongues?? Do

you feel emotions when you speak in tongues like in the book of Acts???

    Brother Dan.

    My view on John 3:5.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. "Born of water" This has nothing to do with baptism by water. If this baptism have anything to do with this section of scripture it would be in verse 6 where Jesus says "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirt. Romans 6:4. The water mentioned here I believe is the word of God!

John 17:17. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. " The cleansing sanctifying power of the word!"

John 15:3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Hebrews 4:12. The word is alive!! A person must be born again by the use of the scripture and its the Holyspirit taking the scripture and using it. I've heard it put like this, You have Spirit of God using the word of God through the man of God.

Verse 11: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We "SPEAK" that we do know, and "TESTIFY" that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

It takes the spirit of God to be obedient to the word of God. It takes the spirit of God to receive the word of God. And it take the word of God to receive the spirit of God through baptism of the Holyspirit.

I haven't heard one person on this site said they wasn't baptized, So why quarrel about obedience in that regard? But many of us say it wasn't to add to what Christ done on the cross. Is that disobedience? If you believe keeping some ritual or commandments is your way to salvation, What does the cross mean to you? Christ wasn't sacrificed "JUST IN CASE YOU FALL SHORT" He was sacrificed because you couldn't. He paid the penalty BECAUSE YOU ARE ALL READY GUILTY.

    God bless.

Sis That gets back to rightly divided doctrine, and No private interpretation which has been handed down through the ages. I do what I do because it works not because its a nice head trip, Jesus Christ walked and talked in the realm of the miraculous, we can too which I KNOW most people don't believe but that's not my problem, that's what my God through his Son paid for in full. Because of His Sacrifice and resurrection we can Hebrews 4:16, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 5:1+2,

Ephesians 1:19, John 10:10, 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 John 3:22, there are over 400 of these called promises to us who believe.

I've learned by walking out and doing that is believing, I never received nothing until I read listened and Acted which by the way is why its called the book of Acts, they believed and moved.

Sister GiGi, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

    Romans 8:11 For the children being not yet born, neither having done any GOOD or EVIL, that the PURPOSE OF GOD according to election might stand, not of works, but if him that calleth;

Ephesian 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.

Hebrews 4:3 .... the WORKS were finished before the foundation of the word.

Abel was chose, Cain was not, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all the prophets, etc., etc. were CHOSEN for the PURPOSE of GOD, all others were not CHOSEN during their first life in the flesh, but will be resurrected back to their flesh, and then be save, but according to the purpose and election of GOD, at each ones appointed time.

Those chosen in this age, are chosen for a PURPOSE OF GOD, to be PRIEST in the KINGDOM OF GOD, on this earth.

All others will have a different office in God's kingdom, but eventually brought into the priesthood.

Ezekiel 20:37 And I WILL CAUSE YOU to pass under the rod, and will bring you into the covenant of God.

In the OLD testament, every tenth one that passed under the ROD was and offering unto the LORD.

Malachi 3:3 ... that they may offer to the Lord an OFFERING in RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Isaiah 6:13 But yet in the land shall be a TENTH, and it (the tenth) shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance (the HOLY SEED, CHRIST IN YOU) is in them, when they (the trees) cast their leaves: so the HOLY SEED shall be the substance thereof.

Revelation 22:2 And in the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the TREE(S) OF LIFE which bear twelve manner of fruit every month: and the LEAVES OF THE TREE(S) was for the healing of the nations.

This is the purpose of those CHOSEN by election, in this AGE.

Hello Ronald. Thank you brother for your thoughtful comments & I certainly respect the spirit that you have given them in. In considering both the individual aspects of your comments as well as its overall thrust, I would say that at the first, we need to determine Jesus' position pre-incarnate & post-incarnate. On this determination, hang all our beliefs & discussions of the Godhead (i.e. the Father, the Word & the Holy Spirit).

Re: Jesus' flesh. As I read the Word, I believe that Jesus was born of God entirely pure, i.e. with flesh untarnished with sin. It could be said that his flesh was as that of Adam, pre-fall. However, Adam sinned & the sin nature & propensity to sin passed on all of us, but Jesus refused to sin, that "he was on all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin" ( Hebrews 4:15b) - still in the flesh but the sin nature couldn't take hold. Some would say that Jesus was the product of the fusing of the seed of God & the seed of Mary. I would tend to disagree; if anything directly human was involved in human production, then the sin nature has to be passed on. I believe that what was placed in Mary was entirely of God & Mary was the vehicle for bringing forth a child, in fulfilment of the prophecies concerning Him.

So, when I say 'Godhead', in lieu of 'Trinity', it is to firstly avoid the naysayers, & secondly to emphasize that the Godhead cannot be complete without the Word & the Spirit being vitally connected & a part of Almighty God's Being. If the Word proceeded out from God, as even He sends forth His Spirit, then the Word made flesh must be the exact personification of God, sans the humanity & the laying aside of His Glory that "He had with (God) before the world was" ( John 17:5).
