God is love, for you to reach the throne of grace then trust no man for all the pain , sorrow , anxiety, anger etc one is going through is because we trust man than God. Trust that God can change the unchangeable and will be happy always.

No matter what you are going through or how bad the situation, keep your eyes on the throne. not so much as the throne itself, but who is sitting on the throne. (Jesus Christ).

Paul is comfirming the rest(Sabbath)in Genesis at the end of creation when God rested from all His work. It is said that we no longer need to abide by the old testament law, but God forbid. If we need not to abide by the old testament law why then do we follow the law of the land? the law of the land is an adoptation of the commandments of God except for the forth commandment. That was change by the first pope of Rome. So the rest in Hebrews 4 is the rest that God has given to man after a long work week.

When God created the heavens and the earth and then he rested from his works for his works was made good and there was no sin place on earth however when man did sin due to unbelief of God's word and the belief of Satan's influence rest was no longer available but only death for the unbelieving ....for the children of Israel could not enter rest due to their unbelief when they defiled God with idolatry and other acts...now Jesus came along and did many works and through His work He took rest back from Satan and through Belief of this work for His works was made good we now can enter into rest.

    Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quicke and powerfull, and sharper then any two edged sword, pearcing euen to the diuiding asunder of soule and spirit, and of the ioynts and marrowe, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The word of God states it unequivocally.

Oh I forgot to tell JOE V. about confession in verse 32 of Matthew 10. Perhaps this scripture will help ( I Timothy 2:5) also read ( Hebrews 4:12-16) ( I John 1:9). As for as verse 32 is concern I think here He's talking about our personal witness as a follower of Jesus Christ; we should be bold in our witness, and never ashamed of our true confession as a born again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ Amen? hope this helps. Love You with the Love of Christ!

Hallelujah, all praise be to God, for he is far above greatness. Proverbs 28:1 says; "The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." And Hebrews 4:16 says; "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." ...... So we see here saints, that Faith is the first step towards God; For FAITH breeds confidants; which cast out fear, FAITH, creates the ability to: telepathically break the laws of psychics; the spirit that God has granted us;(those that believe) is the spirit of God, and God can do anything, so why should he fear? We fear because we have not yet become one with God, but we must saints; So that we can Love with true Love, and maintain peace, and sanity, in our lives, the way God intented it. Amen

Wow! the Holy Spirit really rose up in Paul on this chapter; This chapter should definitely be read, and meditated on daily; such strong nourishment, just what we all need: clear instruction with authority. BLESS THE NAME OF THE LORD, FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS QUICK, AND POWERFUL, AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWOEDGED SWORD,PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF THE JOINTS AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS, AND INTENTS OF THE HEART; WHICH IS SAID IN HEBREWS 4:12. Wow!

I BELIEVE, HAVE FAITH, AND KNOW THAT I HAVE UNDERSTANDING. BUT DO I KNOW ALL THINGS THAT GOD SAY? NO. BUT I STILL SEEK TO KNOW! MY LORD AND MY GOD CHRISTJESUS MADE SURE I KNEW WHAT REOENT MEAN, IT MEANS TO TURN AWAY, TURN AWAY FROM EVERY WEIGHT THAT IS HOLDING ME BACK FROM DOING THE WILL OF GOD, AND RECEIVNG HIS GRACE!!! JESUSCHRIST TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE MANY ANTI-CHRIST IN THE WORLD, THEY OF WHOM WE WOULD HAVE NOT EVER THOUGHT, EVEN OUR OWN FAMILY THE MOST, AND THEY THAT ARE CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS.
AND SAIS IN EPHESIANS 6:12, WE WRESTLE OR FIGHT NOT WITH FLESH AND BLOOD(NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY MY UNCLE ALWAYS TRIED TO FIGHT ME, AND WHY OLDER MEN ARE ALWAYS JEALOUS OF YOUNG MEN!!).
IT IS NOT THAT MAN IS JEALOUS OF YOUNG, BUT THAT GOD CREATED MAN TO DO HIS WILL, AND AFTER HIS LIKENESS, AND THAT YOU HAVE THE DEVIL ROAMING TO AND FRO, LIKE A ROARING LION SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR, DESTROY!
GOD STILL SPEAKS TO US, AND SAID IN REVELATION 16:14, THAT, THEY ARE SPIRITS OF DEVILS/DEMONS, WORKING MIRACLES/OR PERFORMING SIGNS, WHICH GO FORTH UNTO THE KINGS OF THE EARTH AND TO THE WHOLE WORLD, TO GATHER THEM TO BATTLE AGAINST THE GREAT DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY... UNDERSTAND YOU NOT THAT THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH, QUICK, AND POWERFUL AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, SERIOUSLY AS GOD TOLD US IN HEBREWS 4:12..
AND IS A DICTIONARY, AND A CONCORDANCE, AND A HISTORY BOOK! THIS IS CONFIRMATION THAT THE WORD OF GOD, IS REALLY THE WORD OF GOD AND NOT OF ANY MAN( 2 PETER 1:21).

    @Reggie,
May I suggest, letting the Bible explain Hebrews 4: 9, 10.
9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. The word rest in original Greek is Sabbatismo from which we get the word Sabbath or the seventh day. This matches perfectly with what verse 10 says: For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Here is that account: Genesis 2 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Though the Jews kept the seventh day Sabbath, it is not a Jewish sacred day only; it belongs to all of us. It is not a punishment but a privilege. And keeping the Sabbath Day holy is not an option either: It is the fourth of the Ten Commandments ( Exodus 20). Jesus, our Creator gave us the Sabbath at the end of the Creation Week. He kept it holy while on earth, and he bids us to teach all nations whatsoever I have commanded you Matthew 28:19, 20. Here is a promise to those who keep it: If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words; Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 58: 13, 14. This Sabbath Day will also be celebrated in Gods New Kingdom: And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 66:23. Now, how we celebrate the Sabbath is another issue.

The whore of Babylon is the Catholic Church. Her daughters are the churches that left the Catholic Church but kept many of its pagan rituals it adopted. Sunday worship Easter, Christmas to name the most recognized. The bible proves the real day Jesus died, the month he was born, and day he rose. It isn't Good Friday, Sunday or December. And nowhere in the Bible is Sunday hallowed and commanded to be kept holy and rested on. These are the traditions of man and Jesus warns us about them in Mark 7:6-9 and 13. And the fourth commandment is the commandment he says is forsaken. Even Martin Luther who was taught as a catholic but called them the whore of Babylon. He even recognized the true Sabbath but didn't want to go through the hassle of changing the status quo. Not surprising seeing as the Catholics were killing Christians that kept the true Sabbath. They did this for 1260 years. This period is known as the dark ages. For anyone that wants to see the proof, there are articles with biblical scripture backed with secular history and archeological proofs. Jesus and Paul warned of the false teachers and christs. The Bereans read the Old Testament scriptures to prove what Paul was teaching in the synagogues on the Sabbath. Because there was no New Testament then. The Bible says that He was "without sin" ( Hebrews 4:15). And "sin IS the transgression of the law" ( 1 John 3:4, KJV). So we know that Jesus never transgressed God's law-including the fourth commandment about keeping the Sabbath holy. If Jesus had broken the Sabbath, He would have earned the wages of sin-death ( Romans 6:23), and could not have become our Savior. It is clear, then, that Jesus never broke even the least of God's commandments, nor taught men to do so. On the contrary, He said, "I have KEPT My Father's commandments" ( John 15:10). Furthermore, at the very beginning of His ministry, Jesus set the standard for what would be His lifelong example: "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His CUSTOM was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read" ( Luke 4:16). Again, in Luke 13:10, we read, "Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath." The Law of Moses to this day is read in the synagogues. So don't fall for the deception it was nailed to the cross. The reason Jesus called the Pharisees sons of Satan they had added over 60 laws to the Sabbath day not ordered by God. These laws were nailed to the cross along with ceremonial laws like circumcision mentioned in acts.. That is the leaven Jesus tells us not to listen to. Acts 15:20, We should instead write a letter, instructing them to abstain from four things: first, things associated with idol worship; second, sexual immorality; third, food killed by strangling; and fourth, blood. Verse 21, My reason for these four exceptions is that in every city there are Jewish communities where, for generations, the laws of Moses have been proclaimed; and on every Sabbath, Moses is read in synagogues everywhere. Again the Sabbath is expected to be kept by the gentiles to hear the laws of Moses. So the apostles don't think the law was nailed to the cross.

In all, we are reminded again and again, by God that unrighteousness shall fall and righteousness shall be rewarded, for each one will have to stand before the judgment seat of God and account for our rights and wrongs. God already knows for He is omniscient (God knows all and sees all, there is nothing that we can hide from Him, Hebrews 4:12. All we have to do is simply follow Gods word and we will be alright! You couldnt get better advise, because it comes from the giver of all life ( Hebrews 12). Love all, forgive all, dont let it be too late for you! God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap also!
  • Biodun Williams on Proverbs 4 - 12 years ago
God's wisdom has Fatherly instructions, corrections, admonitions, information and guidance in them. As a matter of divine fact, His Wisdom originates from a heart of love, mercy, and compassion that are beyond human comprehension. Therefore, they are meant to stir you and I, as it were, into the favours and strength of God. And because God is God, and there is none compared to Him, it means that He can't lie. Hence, it is worthwhile and wise to give concentrated attention to His Word. God's Word is His Wisdom and His wisdom are His dictates, and they are meant for the good of whoever believes ( 2 Corinthians 12:9; Hebrews 4:16). Truthfully speaking, the fact that God does not do evil, but that He only does what is good and right, should encourage whoever cares to listen, to plunge into His truths, and also into His wisdom- and that must be through Jesus Christ, and also through the Holy Spirit, the Eternal Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Corinthians 3:5). The nuggets of truths, in this Proverbs 4, like others, are godlike precepts and instructions that are incomparable, good and right for the human soul, and for the spirit man, the hidden man of the heart, - and that mainly refers to the recreated human spirit. They are facets of biblical truths that are encouraging and also excellent for the godly type of life that many are craving and thirsting for ( Psalms 1:1-3, Psalms 37:4; Ephesians 1:17). Interestingly, depending perhaps on what background, a Christian comes from, the fact is that for the really genuine and committed type of Christian, a time will or must come that he will come into the knowledge that this God of Israel, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ deserves to be magnified, glorified and worshipped; for there is none like Him ( John 4:23; 1 Peter 1:25). Thus, the place of wisdom, in the lives of whoever desires and dares to love and honour the Living God ( John 1:12; 3:16). He is, all that matters- and when you and I key into His love and faithfulness, He will do great wonders through us to the glory of His name. In view of these and many other things vis a vis the Word of God, wisdom dictates that we give ourselves committedly unto the LORD, and to His Word ( Matthew 6:33,34). There are challenges upon challenges that confront us, as individuals, and that is why, these truths and instructions, as contained in Proverbs, and throughout the pages of the Holy Writ, demand that we be faithfully committed to them. Remember, we have been accepted, into the family of the Beloved, and that refers to Jesus Christ ( John 17:3; Romans 8: 15; Ephesians 2:18; Galatians 4:16,1; Hebrews 9:14; 1 John 4:3; 5:13). And that is where the grace of God comes on board; His grace is more than sufficient ( 1 Corinthians 15:10; 2 Corinthians 3:5; 2 Corinthians 12:9). God has abilities no matter what task or assignment He has called you and I for. When you commit yourself to God's dictates and function in line with them, Angels will go on assignment for you ( John 15:7; James 4:16.). There are levels and degrees of encounters with God, that we can't get into except through daily obedience and practical submission to the Word of God. In fact there is nothing, as far as I know that can surpass what God has given. He has given Jesus Christ, who is referred to biblically, as the Wisdom of God, - and that is for the salvation and redemption of humanity. And when you belong to Him through the agency of the new birth, you automatically become joint heirs with Him. And with that you are sorted if you know how to walk or function in love, and then take advantage of what He has given through Christ Jesus, the Saviour of the World. The essence of these is that we should give attention to wisdom, embrace it, reflect upon it, and practice it. God's instructions and precepts demands heartfelt obedience ( Psalm 119:6; John 14:15; John 15:120; 1 Corinthians 7:19; 1 Peter 1:25; 1 John 5:3). It says whatever you do in word and deed, do it heartily as unto the LORD. Hence, in the things of the Spirit, and that refers to the Holy Spirit, high level of commitment should be the norm, and that is because God cannot lie, - and His Word is forever infallible ( John 1:1-14; Hebrews 4). Truly, God is forever trustworthy.
