HEB 4:28... HEB 4:1... Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it....Why would this chapter start out, "Let us therefore fear ", The Holy Spirit is sending out a warning to those who has eyes to see, and ears to hear.... PRAISE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER ON HIS DAY OF REST. PRAISE OUR HOLY SAVIOR YESHUA! AMEN!!
HEB 4-28...This chapter 4, is not talking about the eternal promised rest of heaven, the Bible doesn 't even mention an eternal promised rest of Heaven. What it is talking about, is knowledge that it far from the inhabitants of this planet. because at first Satan hid it from you, but now it 's from willful ignorance, unbelief and disobedience. This chapter four is a very short chapter, but holds the key to eternal life, a mystery hidden in the writing, It is God 's sign to His promised people. Pray for understanding of it. If you love the Lord this you will do. This chapter is talking about the 7th day Sabbath of God. It is not the first day of the week Sunday, Satan has claimed this day for himself. That 's because he wants you blind to the true Sabbath, so you will perish along with him. AMEN!!
v. 12: Make yourself prepared to recite the Word of God, for there exists nothing more powerful than His Word. To be able to quote God 's Word as directed by your heart in any circumstance, is the most powerful tool and action we have, above all else, we are given God 's Word to speak with instead of our own imperfect mumbling.
Joseph Chigozie Oguikpe on Hebrews 4 - 9 years ago
It is importamt we,notwithstanding whom you may be to understand that Jesus Christ who knew no sin and had no sin was tempted by Satan. Also that Jesus Christ died and rose again. Seated at the right hand of God making intercession for we all that never died and rose and knows what sin is. And Jesus Christ said that it finished. That we all can now come boldly unto the throne of grace that He had made available for us to receive our blessing, repentance, forgiveness, healing etc. He said come without guilt.Notwithstanding how you are. So,what are you waiting for.
Ceasing to persevere in faith and in obedience to Jesus results in the failure to reach the eternal promised rest of heaven . perseverance in faith requires that we continue to draw near to God through Christ with sincere determination.
I am the worst sinner i know of. The Word of God has shown me myself. The desperate depravity of wickedness that prevents me from the glory of God 's goodness and His righteousness. The Word discerns every thought and intent, that, "every imagination of the thoughts of 'my 'heart are only evil continually. " And that, "i know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing. " And "when i would do good, evil is present with me. " The Word declares these things, not only of me myself and i, but of all mankind, born in the fallen image of Adam. And so those whom God has put His Spirit within the Witness of "the Word, which became flesh and dwelt among us, " and that Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, those blessed sinners, foreknown, predestined, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified, these possess the discernment of the Word, Christ Jesus. He who needed not that any man should tell Him anything. For He already knows what is in man.
The hearing of the word of God, we concieve in our spirit and the act of faith by doing acting the word, we give birth and that is the profiting is talked about.
I believe in this passage for his word is who he is and that is god and he see what is truly in the heart of a person we can fool him we say one thing but or heart tells him the truth and the heart is our soul and the real way to god our temple is our body we just have to be real in are faith which only god knows who we are .
God blessed and sanctified the Sabbath Gen. 2:1-3 and kept the Sabbath after the completion of creation. No other day in the Bible was blessed or sanctified by God. You will not find it through out the Bible. The Bible says in Daniel 7:25, man will think to change time and laws. Read it in its entirety. Days were not named in the Bible, they were numbered 1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day so forth and so on . Days of the week are names of pagan gods, look up how the days of the week names originated. Also Jesus rested in the tomb on the Sabbath and rose the first day of the week. Luke 24:1Hebrews 4:1-8 speaks of entering into a rest, a rest which is the seventh-day and He never changed. Man has made Sunday the day of rest, because Jesus rose the first day of the week which they call it resurrection Sunday. This isn 't justified by the Word of God.
Indeed, the 4th commandment is more than just a day to keep holy. Researching it Scripture by Scripture, I 've discovered it to be the "seal " of God whereby we not only acknowledge God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost but, also, a very real identifying characteristics of God 's people in the last days of this world.
As all GODS word has to be revealed through his spirit to ours for revelation, this one is no different. With the revelation that the six days of creation were actually ages than the seventh is an age also that we are still in. So let us enter into that rest by believing the works that CHRIST did on the cross for us and leave our labour of sinful works and do the labour of righteous works to the saving of our souls on that last day.
Sabbath means cessation, a time of rest. God wants us to rest in His finished work of Christ 's death on the cross for us and His resurrection, not argue over which day to worship. By the time Jesus taught in the streets of Galilee, the Jews had added to the law of the Sabbath, over 1000 different rules to follow. They couldn 't even save a drowning man that had accidentally fallen in a ditch. Jesus wants us to trust and obeylike little children. God wants to diligently pursue that rest. Rest in the finished work of Christ and grow in knowledge and truth. Not hurrying home to watch football after worship or worry if there will be room in the restaurant for our meal out. We go, go, go and go some more. God wants us to worship, adore Him. And rest in Him. " There remaineth therefore, a rest to the people of God. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. " Hebrews 4:9,11. The Israelites could not enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief. There have been a lot of martyrs who died as Christians who did not worship on Saturday that will be in Heaven someday.
I 'll continue believing in GOD 's word, repeatedly throughout the bible is filled with passages that reflect GOD 's unchanging way 's because you can 't except them, or yet twist the words around to suit your unbelief, you 'll be left like the one 's in the wilderness who perished in there unbelief, GOD is the same yesterday today and tomorrow, but you knew that right, it is the 4th commandment, I didn 't put it there GOD did and the Messiah didn 't come to DESTROY but to fulfill where they were written on stone, he would write them on our Hearts, no longer being under the death sentence for breaking one, but wanting to keep all of the commandments because of our LOVE for our MESSIAH,GOD if you love me you 'll keep my commandments, does that sound familiar, it should those are our Messiah 's words you can brush it off nonchalantly, but you will not partake of the tree of life or enter into the Holy City unless your a commandment keeper, and if you break one you 've broken them all, so you might want to do some more studying on the subject, I would hate to see you missout because of a misconception. AMEN
Paul speaking to the jews was saying that the jews, not being indwelt by the Holy Spirit thru Jesus, must strive to keep the law of Moses. This they cannot do. Born again Christians having within them the Holy Spirit and Jesus the Christ do the will of God as He leads and inspires them. That is to say they have found rest in God.
since we are righteous because we have received by faith the righteousness of God we can rest in his perfectness as if it was our own. Indeed by face it is our own. So we are righteous because he was righteous and then parted to us through face a bright justness. As such having already received I write sins like rice there is no need to seek why works another kind of righteousness. Not that Christians are supposed to do good works what are works do not count toward our salvation nor toward our own righteousness. From Isaiah our righteousness is like filthy rags in God 's eyes. We can now in this world have a rest from our labors as he promised and it 's available to us through face. I believe that I have obtained God 's rest here and now. Not by my own actions but because of His righteous actions imputed to me by face. His Spirit living in me produces it love that must be directed to his creation. As such I am compelled to love my neighbor as myself. These actions do not make me write this. Or perfect. I am already righteous. I am already perfect. By faith in Christ. My actions are an outflow of his and all his love. As such I am at rest. I have entered into his rest by faith here and now. It 's something that every Christian can attain unto by faith in Christ.
I think the main issue here is if you dont mix the word with faith,it dont work, unless it meets faith in the heart, spirit and soul the can it profit someone!
The sabbatherians always justify their practice with verse 9. But a look at verses 3, 11, indicate something that will happen in feature. The Bible clearly stated, Col 2 16, that Sabbath keeping is thing of the past. God rested after He had finished His work and is still testing till date.We as Christians will enter His rest when we have finished our duty on earth.
Jesus is our great high priest who has passed into the heavens. He is seated at the right hand of the Father making intersesion for us because He can be touched with our weaknesses for He was in all points tempted as we are yet He was without sin. Therefore let us come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need,
why is ever comment above running away from what chapter 4 is talking about? Olabode you are talking about grace, are you eliminating chapter 4 's truth and replacing it with grace. we shall find grace in chapter 5, there is a lesson in chapter 4 which is missed by a great multitude " God 's rest " we are referred to Genesis, God rested and sanctified a day and rested on it. why are we paying title if we only relay on Grace.
