Arissa, the reference to Isaac's persecution is in Gen 21:9: "And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking." We're not told what happened here, though it would no doubt have included about Ishmael's older age to Isaac (Ishmael was in his teens when Isaac was born) & his rights as the firstborn, & that Abraham celebrated Isaac's birth (v 8), whereas Ishmael's birth was a 'non-event'. However, Ishmael was not the son of Promise & was cast away, yet he would become a great nation yet still the enmity goes on between these 'brothers'.

Of course, Muslims with their own interpretation & for their convenience, make Ishmael as the dominant son from Abraham, even to the point of Abraham taking him up to be sacrificed instead of Isaac. So we have many long-standing conflicts that cannot be easily resolved & no doubt it will have a greater bearing as the Anti-Christ comes to the fore.

Where in the Old Testament does it say that Ishmael persecuted Isaac? Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

I believe this section 4:22-31 among many in the Bible has been tampered with to stir contention in the middle east, and divide the Muslim tribes from the Jews, and now too with a divisive wall between all 3.

I am in Christ, but have never experienced true freedom, not because of the Ishmaelites, Muslims, but because of white supremacists who have been persecuting the Muslims, Jews, & Christians for a VERY LONG TIME.

These white supremacists have used occultic practices to control minds, hearts and turn brother against brother.

It's time for the true Christians to get up off their hind quarters and pray for the household of Abraham- for healing, reconciliation, peace and unity.

The white supremacists don't want a house united because a house united means power that the white supremacists cannot dominate. Their army will be destroyed very quickly, so now they use surveillance and lethal drones which is a very cowardly thing to do. They feel powerful when they are armed with their hi-tech weapons, and only aim to kill people they provoke to lash out, just so they have a reason to arrest, blow up, bomb innocent children, and use the excuse that it was an accident.

Enough perversion of the Scripture as white supremacists have done for years to keep people enslaved, ignorant, and even in separating them from their children.

SC, thank you for your comment. You quote Gen 1:26, 27. What has this Scripture got to do with "The perfect order of the spiritual family"? In the normal reading of that passage, it speaks of the Creator God wanting to create man & woman in His Image. How do we get a 'family relationship' from these verses?

Galatians 4:27 which is a direct quotation from Isaiah 54:1. What is the prophecy here, which Paul is speaking about? He speaks of the two sons of Abraham, Ishmael (from Hagar the bondwoman) & Isaac (from Sarai (Sarah), the freewoman of Promise). The reference here was against the Judaizers amongst them who wanted to bring Christians back under the Law to be saved (represented by Hagar), whereas Christians were freed from the Law which could only bring death, represented by Sarah & Isaac, the child of Promise.

So "Rejoice thou barren (Sarah), cry with joy, for the desolate (Sarah) has many more children that she (Hagar) who was the slave-wife (to Abraham)". This prophecy is clearly of the children of Promise, i.e. of those who are saved by grace through Jesus Christ & not by the works of the Law (or even fused with Grace). Here is a clear portion from Paul to encourage the Galatians believers about their new standing before God through His Son. It has nothing to do with "More proof God is Husband and Wife, Father and Mother, MelquisedecLisbet". How do you develop such a connection when the Scripture is clear as to the prophecy & its implications?

Human relationships did not start first!

The Spiritual Relationship of God The Husband and God The Wife existed way before man was created. Everything God creates has perfect order. The perfect order of the spiritual family is, Husband and Wife, Father and Mother, then The Children. Genesis 1:26,27

Whoever is truly humble, yet offended by this perfect order of family, needs to REPENT, turn from their wicked (twisted) ways of thinking, and allow GOD, to heal the land in their minds first, then physical land around them.

""If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

    2 Chronicles 7:14

More proof God is Husband and Wife, Father and Mother, MelquisedecLisbet,

"For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not, break forth and cry, thou that travailest not, for the desolate{the bond woman} hath many more children than She{God The Mother, The Holy Spirit, The Wisdom} which hath an Husband{God The Father}.

    Galatians 4:27

THIS IS THE CORNERSTONE, the religions builders of the faith rejected throughout the centuries.

"But Jerusalem who is above is free, She is The Mother of us all."

    Galatians 4:26

"O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey The Truth."

    Galations 3:1

Angeline, With respect to keeping the Sabbath, what were the requirements? What is your take on statements that seem to say it doesn't matter if you keep the Sabbath?

    Mark 2:27

Then Jesus declared, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

    Mark 7:19

because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated." (Thus all foods are clean.)

    Romans 14:3

For one person has faith to eat all things, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not belittle the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted him.

    Romans 14:5

One man regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God.

    Romans 14:17

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

    Galatians 4:10

But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!

    Colossians 2:20

If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations: These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.

    1 Timothy 4:3

They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

    Hebrews 9:10

They consist only in food and drink and special washings--external regulations imposed until the time of reform.

I've had this question as well. I found the same in Corinthians 14:34-35 and no scripture contrary to this. If someone can give scripture that states otherwise, I would like to follow-up. Thank you and May God continue to bless and keep all my sisters and brothers.

No> I dont think so and it also depends on what it is your doing as long as you do it in a pleasing and mannerly way to God and keep reverence in his name it should be ok. all of us can be Jesus disciples and spread his words and carry yourself in woman of God and call upon the Holy Spirit to help renew and restore your life..

Shelly-We are not all in the same place with our walk with God, those people who seem to be having an easy time of life may have already gone through some hard times and who knows what the future holds? If we are going through hard times, rejoice!! God is working in us to bring us to a better understanding of where He wants us to be.
    1 Peter 4:13-16
1 Peter 4:16-Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Why do some Christians be constantly going through hardships while other Christians think a personbis being punished by God fpr sinning as we all do
  • Julian williams - In Reply on Galatians 4 - 4 years ago
I don't think it is correct. We do have women of God. We have pastors, reverend, prophetess etc that are women. Does that means they are not supposed to do Gods work?
  • Chev boy - In Reply on Galatians 4 - 4 years ago
Yes. They are not to teach or instruct men from the Word in the assembly. But they are only allowed to teach ladies in ladies' separate meetings or children in the separate children's Scripture classes. Paul the last Apostle states this clearly twice in God's Word for our learning and obedience.

Churches teach the day of the Lord and the day of Christ are two different days. Ask yourself this question.
IS Jesus Christ the Lord? I say he is. Churches teach that these are 2 different events to slip in the pre trib rapture.
Thus essentially denying that Jesus is the Lord.

Mark 2:27,28, Luke 4:16, Matt. 12:8, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:15-17, Exodus 35:2. From these texts The day of the Lord and the Lord day is the same. Even Jesus custom was to go into the synagogue on the Sabbath. As Christians we are to follow Christ example, obey His commandments.

There is a scripture which in essence says let no one condemn you as to which day you choose to worship the Lord (as in a day set aside to church, sabbath, etc.) I can't remember where that is. Can you help?

The Lord's Day and Day of the Lord are different, right? Can you give me both definitions?

Hello, it doesn't. It says the opposite though that the Earth was round (circle) and said this 2,000 years before scientists even discovered this was true in the 15th century. Link - see the 2nd row. Stars, planets, moon are referred to as the heavens. Who told you otherwise and why assume that's true?

Galatians 4:9, is one that we do on a continuous basis, the cycle should at some point be broken.
No it will not be easy because Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy us, to which he is doing a pretty good job, more and more are lieing stealing, committing adultery, drinking too much, smoking cigarettes, and doing drugs, it has become a common thing now, but I for one do not wish to go to hell and burn for eternity, in order for you to be afraid though you must first believe in God, then Dare to be Different. No more.....
Satan will bring things against you, like Job, but stand fast believe and it will pass, and you will become new again.
    Believe me I know.....

What you're Saying is that you Don't Believe God, that The Word Became Flesh. A Body Made of a Woman( John 1:14, Galatians 4:4) --- A Spirit Hath not Flesh and Bones( Luke 24:39) / The Promised Seed is Christ( Genesis 3:15, Galatians 3:16) The Holy Spirit is Our Comforter and Teacher( John 14: 16, 26) What you're Doing is Twisting His Word for you're Foolishness, Which is Heresy.
