Hi Gregory, You are right but I would put it this way, Christ has freed us from the "curse" of the law, and that we are no longer under the "curse" of the law. Galatians 3:11-13. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth

We was redeemed by his precious blood. Ephesians 1:7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; We was purchased by his blood Acts 20:28, Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

We are forgiven but those sins wasn't, Jesus wasn't pardoned because he was the Christ, He had a debt to pay to the father, God is not a crooked judge, the penalty for those sins had to be paid, And he paid them on the cross. A good study on Romans Ch: 5, 6, 7, and 8 is very helpful on this topic.

    Thank you.

I believe there is only one way, one Gospel but preached in many different ways:

When Paul says according to the Scriptures, "OLD TESTAMENT"

We see THE PROMISE TO ABRAHAM-

Galatians 3:8-9. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. ( Jews and Gentiles)

HERE IS JOHN THE BAPTIST PLAYING A ROLE IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE GOSPEL.

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the LAMB OF GOD, which taketh away the sin of the ""WORLD."" (Jews and Gentiles)

THOSE LAMB SACRIFICES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT SPOKE OF CHRIST DEATH FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.

NOTICE PETER PUTTING NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TEACHING TO JEWS AND GENTILES HERE IN ACTS. pay attention to the highlighted sentences.

Acts 15:7-11. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

"""AND PUT NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND THEM,""" purifying their hearts by faith.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ """WE SHALL BE SAVED, EVEN AS THEY."""

When the Apostles was baptizing "ritually" putting all believers (Jews and Gentiles) in one body speaks of Identifying us with his DEATH AND RESURRECTION.

They all preached the cross and resurrection in different ways throughout the scriptures. But the same narrow way.

Thank you for your comments - if I might take you up on a couple of things you mentioned there:

"A prophet(ess) and preacher have the same required duties." I suppose we would disagree on this aspect as I see that the prophet & the preacher are very different, unless of course, the preacher is gifted in receiving the prophetic Word. A prophet or prophetess would receive God's Word as a particular revelation to bring to the people. It must include more than a rehearsal of what is already known, but a direct Word from God for the future (whether for good or ill). If it doesn't include "the future", then it's not a prophetical utterance. After the Word of God was completed (as we have it now), has there been any prophecy from anyone (except the false prophets, of course), that could add to the Bible? Bearing in mind Revelation 22:18,19?

"His Word is enough to confirm his calling on women to preach." Well, I have yet to find a Scriptural authority for this to happen. Rather, when we come to worship, we have the attendance of Heaven as well. If even the angels observe the order & dignity in our services ( 1 Corinthians 11:10), then what must Heaven observe if there is a woman usurping the Divine Order, & see a woman preaching the Word to a mixed congregation. Can a sister share her testimony, can she minister to other sisters & children or can she assist in whatever way the Lord has gifted her? Of course, she can - she fulfils her position in the Church receiving the appreciation & gratitude of the Church. Blessings.

Thank you, for your comment also, but there are many churches who use the King James version of the Bible that very much so believe Jesus Christ is alive. The word of God applies to all who will believe and follow him. My personal testimony Jesus led me to Matthew 4:19 prior to getting the baptism of his Holy Spirit and then led me back to the scripture again after filling me with His Spirit to confirm what he called me to do. Again, we as the church can take God's word out of context and misconstrue to our own meaning. If we are honest with ourselves, we have all done it.

We can agree to disagree in love....

I appreciate and thank you, brother for your response.

The definition of preaching is the delivery of a sermon or religious address to an assembled group of people, typically in church. A prophet is a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God and a prophetess is a female prophet. Prophetess Deborah judged the children of Israel in the same manner as the men. A prophet(ess) and preacher have the same required duties.

I am a member of a church that is 90-years established. God called a woman to establish and start this church. The pastor I am under is the first male to pastor our church. Prior to him three females pastored this church and he grew up under their leadership and teach the same Gospel message from the same version Bible (King James) as they taught and preached from. I do believe in the order of God and this is why I believe God has called women to preach and pastor. His Word is enough to confirm his calling on women to preach.

If truth be told, once a man, woman, and or child repent of sins, be baptized in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and be filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost ( Acts 2:1-4; 36-41) they become preachers (spiritual) when they testify of their new birth experience, which proclaims the salvation plan of the Lord.

Some brethren believe in women preachers (or pastors) and some don't; nonetheless, our hearts focus needs to be on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and winning souls into His kingdom and being rapture ready awaiting Jesus' return for His Church.

    God bless you.

When we use 1 Timothy 1:12 as the authority for women to be in silence, it is in respect to the order & discipline within the Church of Jesus Christ. Just as in the matter of head covering ( 1 Corinthians 11:3-16), the Church directive has always followed the order of: God - Jesus Christ - Man - Woman. There is no disregard or humiliation given to the woman - it's just the Divine order prescribed for the Church.

You quote Deborah, the judge & prophetess. She was so equipped & called by God to serve. But could she minister in the Tabernacle or its environs? And we could say the same for the other women mentioned, so called of God. Or the Elect Lady or those women at the Tomb: none of these were teachers - we would have to force that meaning into those passages.

So whether concerning the Jewish Temple, Synagogue, or even the Church, the order has always been the same, with the Church given greater latitude, allowing women to minister to children & youth & engage in other services in the Church. Even if I read right up to The Revelation, I don't see any change to this Divine Pattern. How then is God's Word misconstrued or taken out of context? When human sentiment enters into Divine instruction, it is then we fall into error, which then is very often compounded.

Hi Donna, I would have only one question, is the word of God being taught? we went through this exact situation a number of years ago in our church, some left on so called principle but most stayed, at the end of the day we survived.

I'm fully aware of what it says in 1 Corinthians, but, as in Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." this would be more of my view of what the word church really means as opposed to the physical building used for worship. I don't read any version of the bible other than KJV, but as per others that are much more learned than myself, the KJV is more accurate. Like in our church, I'm sure the fellowship in your church would be like family, Just a question, would bible study as a group work. Throughout the bible you find that there are a number of women who influenced their fellow man proclaiming Jesus ministry, I've listed just a few.

I do hope this may help

John 4:25-29 Because of the Samaritan woman at the well, many came to believe,

Romans 16:1 "I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:"

Romans 16:3 "Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:"

Acts 9:36-42 40 "But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up."

I believe the word is alive in all of us and the word is written in our hearts and minds so we dont need to preach just read his book and pray for the holy spirit to open our eyes. To give Christ complete control and meerly be a vessel a mouthpiece. Lambs are lions and Christ is coming in a flame of fire hes not here to forgive to just grab a few believers before its over this is the third wave and they still dont believe. I pray for seniors whos children are like vultures I pray for mothers to escape from the beast and clutches of man. I pray that there be virgin brides for christ male and female

I believe that the Lord has given everyone of his children spiritual gifts some prophesy not all. Gifts of healing goodness so many gifts. The most important thing Jesus gave us is Love and peace. Helping not judging your neighbor holding your tongue and being quiet so the word of God is revealed. For the first time when I read the word of God it is alive and speaks to me. It is a living breathing word and family is at the centre. We need to role model kindness love and make gardens laugh enjoy our children teach them practical things. Stop worrying fearing for our children and the world and enjoy heaven on earth it is a blessing. Stop telling kids no and ask them what they think. Stop getting children to compete to be the best. Get them to live as a team as we should. Love peace non judgement and acceptance forgiveness. Hebrews is run by faith trust one another dont believe satans lies. Pray for Canada our government our first people pray that reparation will be accomplished so there can be healing. The government stole theyre land and their children to feed the catholic church who raped children and made quebec rich where there is a huge pedophile ring and children are taken because they cant speak french children are blinded and sold into sex trafficking pray for the children . The beatudes and Corinthians and revelations is almost fulfilled We must close are borders and return prayer and values to school. Time for children to destress in classrooms to meditate and pray or draw or think take the pressure off our children. I pray that ADHD will be seen as a label used by teachers drs etc to distribute amphetamines and get kids hooked on speed. I pray for all pregnant mothers that they deliver healthy babies news flash my mom smoked when i was pregnant and drank alcohol and smoked weed and I am fine Stop judging look in the mirror Christ loved Mary Magdalene. Christ loved a murderer and a thief. Stop profitting off of others misery and laughing

Hi Donna. Debra was a judge in Israel. The church was not called out. There is no mention of the Lady elect in 2 John being a preacher.

And the 2 woman at the tomb, The church still haven't started and that was not preaching,

1 Timothy 2:12. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. The church is a gathering, a people called out. I think the emphasis here is when gathered ""men and women"" she is to be silent, meaning not to give input to teach. However I believe she can teach other or younger women.

    Titus 2:3-5. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

1 Corinthians 14:34-36. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? And please don't take that as a sign of disrespect. I do know a woman in a marriage is supposed to model the bride of Christ. Maybe someone can elaborate on it a bit more. Thank you

No doubt Romans is life changing , and yet understanding the power which enables us to uphold the passages is most important... Charity, without it we have nothing.

What is Charity,, its the love of God manifested in our mortal bodies just like it was in Jesus , its the willingness to lay aside every thing for the sake of the Gospel and Jesus , Every thing we have acquired from above must be given back , it must be laid before the alter with thanksgiving ( ITS ALL ABOUT HIM )

    Greetings, Cecil,

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Mat 24:36

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."Mar 13:32

We know that Jesus is God in the flesh, The Second Person of The Trinity. Jesus was fully human and fully divine. Yet he hid parts of His deity, in order to live as a man. He chose to not know. Rather He humbled Himself and became obedience unto death, even the death on the cross.

    Hope this helps.

Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark 13, explains this very well.

    Matthew 24:1-51 and Mark 13:4-37

Matthew 24:38-41 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mark 13:6 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

Mark 13:32 "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."

    Good afternoon,

I just happened to stumble in this area of the website and read the comments about the Bible and women preachers. Let me encourage you there are women preachers in the Word of God. You have Deborah the prophetess in the Old Testament who was one of the Judges ( Judges 4:4-5), the Lady Elect in the New Testament (2 John) and then you have the women who was sent not only by the angel sitting at Jesus' tomb to proclaim He had risen to His disciples, but on the way, they met Jesus who greeted them and instructed them to tell his brethren to go to Galilee to see Him there. They were the first to see and proclaim Jesus was alive and rose from the dead.

Sometimes the Word of God can be misconstrued and taken out of context. This is why we have to pray and study God's word ourselves (ref. 2 Timothy 2:15) along with being taught by our leader.

I also believe King James Version is the best version to read. If you have a hard time understanding ask God to open your understanding to His truth. I also recommend keeping a commentary next to you as you read the Word of God. Matthew Henry is a good commentary to read.

I pray this information has helped you.

    Donna,

I suggest to find a different church to go to. The NIV version is never accurate, and what you read in the NIV won't ever be true. The NIV is called New International Version. The KJV version is the only one that will EVER be true. God wrote the Bible thousands and thousands and thousands of years ago. Hundreds and hundreds of years later, people have tried to change what the Bible says. Neither God or the Bible will change. So I suggest finding and going to a different church. I have a suggestion of what church you should go to, but first, what state are you in?

    Donna Vargas,

"we are without a preacher right now and they are cinsidering an interm"

The "we" and "they" have to talk things through. Never forget Christ himself is the spiritual head of any church, and he dwells in the heart and head of every believer. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
  • Donna Vargas - In Reply on Galatians 3 - 3 years ago
That is what I thought however we do not have a pastor at this time and the church is considering an interim pastor but is a woman. We are Baptist, church is Baptist but reads out of the NIV. We are a very small church and most of us are over 70. What do you suggest. They don't seem to be having a problem with a woman preaching. Thank you for taking time for me.

    Donna,

To answer your question, women should not preach in church. But in other religious churches that believe God is not real or Jesus is still dead, those kind of churches probably, more than likely will allow or want women to preach. But in churches that believe in the KJV Bible, they do not believe that women should preach. A couple or few may allow women to preach, but pretty much all churches believing in the KJV version do not allow or want or even let women preach. Does that answer your question?

    Blessings,

    Sarah Chessiy

    Sandra,

"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." Romans 10:4

Which law spells out forgiveness? Had I a choice to only break one of the ten in my lifetime, no matter which I choose, forgiveness isn't there. Righteousness by the law was fulfilled by only one person, the Lord Jesus. That righteousness is what is imputed to those who believe, therefore, those who believe are under no obligation to do, what only Jesus did. However, once the love of God is received it shows in the life of a believer, perhaps not always perfectly, but it grows in their earthly lifetime.

It is the pride of the flesh to think that before the law a person lacks nothing. Matthew 19:30

"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." Galatians 3:24

"To demonstrate our love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ, is to conduct our lives in harmony with the Ten Commandments." It is pride that attaches eternal life to the letter of the law. "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." 1John 1:17 The law is in the sphere of the work of the Holy Spirit, John 16:8, "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment". Believers testify of Christ's, grace and truth. I have no doubt the Holy Spirit within a believer will not lead them to violate any of the ten commandments, because the righteousness of Christ exceeds the letter of the law.

Sandra, Are all your sins forgiven?
