Discuss Ezekiel 48

Isaiah 13:12 , who is this man that God will make ? Ezekiel 44:3 all the way through to Ezekiel 48:22 , who is this prince ? As I said previously , it's so frustrating but , we have to agree to disagree, Christ is God manifest in the flesh because he was not born through lust but by the power of God's Holy Spirit and was filled without measure , of God's Holy Spirit . At least I can assume that we can all agree on that . As God said at the burning bush , I will be who will be , I will manifest in whom I will manifest . Jesus is not the first manifestation of God , others received of God's Holy Spirit in measure , Christ received God Holy Spirit without measure , therefore Christ truly is that manifestation spoken of at the burning bush , Christ is Emmanuel , he says : he that has seen me has seen the Father , there's no arguement as to what scripture says , we all read the same Bible . Sadly it's the interpretation . We shall all know the Truth soon enough , looking at what is going on in the middle East it's going to be quite soon I think . Can't wait !

Thank you for sharing your thoughts GiGi as you progress on the Attributes of God using the alphabet - very interesting & edifying as also the great submissions from Richard. As I read yours, and you quoted Deuteronomy 4:7, my thoughts went to the very Name of God in respect to this.

The Israelites were indeed reminded that the LORD God was always near to them - with them; and yet they should have known (or, maybe it wasn't revealed to them at that stage), that this God is also known by His compound Name, YHWH-Shammah: "The LORD Who is Present". And this we see in Ezekiel 48:35, the very last statement in the very last verse of Ezekiel's prophecy (which is generally understood to refer to Israel's existence in the Millennial Kingdom; Ezekiel chapters 40 to 48).

In that verse, the Hebrew reads, "wasem ha-ir mi-yowm Yahweh sammah" ('and the name of the city from (that) day (shall be) YAHWEH (is) THERE'). Israel of old knew that God was with them by all His marvelous Works yet they still resorted to the flesh & idolatry. But the day will come when they will truly know Him as Yahweh Shammah, the LORD Who is present, with them, very near to them, for Christ Jesus their Messiah will be the Lord Whom they will know & Who will rule over them (also speaks of Christ's indivisible Deity). And what we, as those who have now received Christ's Spirit in our hearts, know Him in a personal way & a powerful Presence in our lives, still remain to them as a distant hope & a vain search, all the while clouded in disbelief, darkness, & rejection of their Messiah's first coming. Thank you for reminding us that the LORD has never left us - He has constantly been involved in all our affairs, even though at times in our personal & global existence, He might appear absent. But unto 'us who believe, He is precious' & we ought to live in such a manner befitting His Name, 'the LORD Who is Present with(in) us'.

    Hi Jerry.

    Part 3.

YAHWEH-TSIDKENU [yah-way-tzid-kay-noo]: "The Lord Our Righteousness" ( Jeremiah 33:16) - As with YHWH-M'Kaddesh, it is God alone who provides righteousness (from the Hebrew word tsidkenu) to man, ultimately in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, who became sin for us "that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him" ( 2 Corinthians 5:21).

YAHWEH-ROHI [yah-way-roh-hee]: "The Lord Our Shepherd" ( Psalm 23:1) - After David pondered his relationship as a shepherd to his sheep, he realized that was exactly the relationship God had with him, and so he declares, "Yahweh-Rohi is my Shepherd. I shall not want" ( Psalm 23:1).

YAHWEH-SHAMMAH [yah-way-sham-mahw]: "The Lord Is There" ( Ezekiel 48:35) - the name ascribed to Jerusalem and the Temple there, indicating that the once-departed glory of the Lord ( Ezekiel 8-11) had returned ( Ezekiel 44:1-4).

YAHWEH-SABAOTH [yah-way-sah-bah-ohth]: "The Lord of Hosts" ( Isaiah 1:24; Psalm 46:7) - Hosts means "hordes," both of angels and of men. He is Lord of the host of heaven and of the inhabitants of the earth, of Jews and Gentiles, of rich and poor, master and slave. The name is expressive of the majesty, power, and authority of God and shows that He is able to accomplish what He determines to do.

EL ELYON [el-el-yohn]: "Most High" ( Deuteronomy 26:19) - derived from the Hebrew root for "go up" or "ascend," so the implication is of that which is the very highest. El Elyon denotes exaltation and speaks of absolute right to lordship.

EL ROI [el-roh-ee]: "God of Seeing" ( Genesis 16:13) - the name ascribed to God by Hagar, alone and desperate in the wilderness after being driven out by Sarah ( Genesis 16:1-14). When Hagar met the Angel of the Lord, she realized she had seen God Himself in a theophany. She also realized that El Roi saw her in her distress and testified that He is a God who lives and sees all.

    Hi Sheila.

Good observation. Dan and Ephraim is omitted from witnessing in Revelation, However Dan goes into the Millennium kingdom, And so does Ephraim.

I believe they lost their Witness but not Brotherhood for lack of better terms.

    Appearance in the Millennium-

Ezekiel 47:22. And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.

Ezekiel 47:23. And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 48:1-2. Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for DAN.

And by the border of DAN, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Asher.

Ezekiel 48:5. And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Ephraim.

    God bless.

I have had such a hard time with reading and learning all of my life. I'm the youngest of six children born into a Baptist Ministers family and am now sixty eight years of age. I have tried to read and understand the Bible for years and I haven't been saved very long so tonight as I started reading the devils starded the plan of interrupting me every verse causing my attention to fall off course. It was like the lord told me to use my recorded version of the KJV of the Bible and I did. Then the devil made the lord and we'll shout it out!,lightning not good. Then the lord hit me with use your tablet and read alongside with your recorded version and Praise God it's working. Then not only has he opened the door for just reading, he has given me commentary and discussion. PRAISE THE LORD AND THE KEEPER OF THIS.ORG of the KJV of Gods word for people like me. You'll meet me in heaven one day

That was so sad to read, yet a wonderful testimony of God's Spirit's Work in you at a time of such great grief & loss. You have cast yourself upon the Lord's Mercies & He has ministered His Word of comfort to you in return in wonderful ways.

Having lost both my parents at an earlier age, I too can relate how wonderfully the Lord undertook for me, "to give unto (me) beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that (I) might be called (a tree) of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified". Isaiah 61:3. And that's what it is: that He might be glorified in us in every way.

Whether in joy or grief, health or sickness, in the light or darkness, He is there - He is YHWH-Shammah (The Lord Who is Present - Ezekiel 48:35), the Lord Who never leaves or forsakes His children. Your rich memories, in your heart & in visible things around the house, will always be precious - maybe bringing in a tear or some times of great sadness, but still keeping his memory special & precious forever - till we meet again, indeed! Walk on in the joy & strength of the Lord, dear sister.

    Ephesians 6 Commentaries

6:12 For our wrestling is not only, not chiefly, against flesh and blood - Weak men, or fleshly appetites. But against principalities, against powers - The mighty princes of all the infernal legions. And great is their power, and that likewise of those legions whom they command. Against the rulers of the world - Perhaps these principalities and powers remain mostly in the citadel of their kingdom of darkness. But there are other evil spirits who range abroad, to whom the provinces of the world are committed. Of the darkness - This is chiefly spiritual darkness. Of this age - Which prevails during the present state of things. Against wicked spirits - Who continually oppose faith, love, holiness, either by force or fraud; and labour to infuse unbelief, pride, idolatry malice, envy, anger, hatred. In heavenly places - Which were once their abode, and which they still aspire to, as far as they are permitted.

People's Bible Notes for Ephesians 6:12

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle. Fights then were a hand to hand grapple. Not against flesh and blood. While flesh and blood may seem to assail us, the real enemies are evil spiritual powers. Against principalities, against powers. These terms designate different rank of evil spirits. These were fallen angels (see Ro 8:38). The same terms are applied to the different ranks of holy angels in Eph 1:21. Against the rulers of the darkness of this world. Satan is described as the ruler of this world (Joh 12:31 14:30 16:11) and the god of this world ( 2Co 4:4). He uses for his dominion not only evil spirits, but wicked men, and his sway is darkness rather than light. Against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. "Spiritual [hosts] of wickedness" (Revised Version). It is likely that the meaning is the same as in Eph 2:2 The high places, the air, is a dwelling place and medium of these evil influences.

I long for the New Jerusalem in which the Glory of the Lord will be the EVERLASTING LIGHT! Praise, Glory and Honor belong only to the Lamb of God which was slain on a Cross and the Blood that was shed for the Repentant sinner. HALLELUJAH! It possibly talk about the eastern church, the church in Asian. As Joseph and Benjamin being the last two sons of Jacob, they also represent the church era right before Jesus coming. See also
    Rev. 21.12.
