The waste and desolate places have reference to the churches and congregations worldwide, no exceptions, in our day. Spiritually they have become desolate and no one is being saved there. The key verse is verse 20: The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. The children which are lost is a reference to the churches and congregations the vast majority of which have no true believers within them. There may be a few that remain, and they will be brought out or come out before Christ appears. The children which thou shalt have are all those who are being saved outside the local congregations during this final great tribulation period.
Now going back to Daniel 12:11, we saw that if we go 1,290 years from 1877 B.C. at the time of Jacob's great affliction, we landed on 587 B.C. at the time of Daniel's great tribulation. Now, if we fast forward 2 x 1,290 years from 587 B.C., we to land on the year 1994 A.D. which is a key milestone in God's salvation plan. God occasionally employs a 1/3, 2/3 rule, as in:
Zechariah 13:7-9 7Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. 8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. 9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Acts 7:9-11 9And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, 10And delivered him out of all his afflictions [Greek: thlipsis], and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. 11Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction [Greek: thlipsis]: and our fathers found no sustenance.
Jacob's affliction stemmed from the fact that they were forced to leave the land of Canaan, the land flowing with milk and honey, a land that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had dwelt in for 215 years, due to the famine. And in regards to famine, remember Amos 8:11?
Amos 8:11-12 11Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: 12And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
Amos 8:11 is speaking about our day, which is parallel to Jacob's tribulation in that within the churches there is a famine of HEARING the words of the LORD, meaning the Holy Spirit is no longer present in the churches to give spiritual ears to hear.
God has provided a time bridge of 1,290 years between Jacob's tribulation and the tribulation of Daniel's day. The 1,290 years comes from Daniel 12:11.
Daniel 12:9-11 9And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. 11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
God occasionally substitutes a day for a year, as in Ezekiel 4:4-6.
"...A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." Ecclesiastes 8:5
There is nothing that is quite as controversial in the Bible as the matter of time, and specifically, the question of where we are presently in terms of time. The Bible lays down a fundamental principle that we may not shy away from in Ecclesiastes 8
"...4 Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? 5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. 6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. 7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?"
Here God is laying down a fundamental principle. A "wise man" is referring to Christ, who indwells each and every believer in the person of the Holy Spirit.
We also have another fundamental principle laid down in Daniel 12:1-4
"1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
In verse 4, God declares, But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Already there is an implication that the believers must know something about time, for how else shall we know that we are at the time of the end?
Luke 8:10 "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand."
Mark 4:9-12 "And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."
Mark 4:33,34 "And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples."
Matthew 13:33,34 "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world."
Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
Daniel 12:8,9 "And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."
In the Bible, a PARABLE is an earthly story with a Spiritual meaning. Christ, God Himself, is the author of the entire Bible and He declares that "without a parable spoke He not".
Is not then every historical account in the Bible not only a literal account but also a HISTORICAL PARABLE teaching some aspect of the Gospel? ceremonial Law, lamb of God, book of Ruth, etc.?
The True Gospel is circumscribed by the Bible, Alone and in its Entirety, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, in its original languages. The King James Version, is translated from the oldest and most reliable manuscripts available, and the translators sought to stick as closely as possible to the original text; This is in stark contrast to the modern translations that use inferior manuscripts and seek to reinterpret the original text and put it in more understandable language. That said, the KJV is far from perfect, it does contain errors, and the KJV translators were heavily influenced by the doctrines of the church, which when viewed from the superior vantage point of our day when we are very near the end of time and God is opening our understanding to many truths that were previously kept sealed (read Daniel 12:4,9), were often faulty. Therefore, the serious Bible student should always carefully check the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek using the modern tools that are readily available, such as interlinears and concordances, which are keyed to the KJV.
By definition, any gospel that cites an authority that is outside the 66 books of the Bible, or narrower than the Bible, is a False Gospel. That includes gospels that look upon other books as divinely inspired or that feature the teachings of those who claim to have received direct revelation from God, whether in a dream or a vision or tongue, as in the tongues described in 1 Corinthians 14.
Revelation 22:18-19
"18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
There are different understandings of this, the most important thing is when we die, our destiny is fixed, either eternal life given through faith and the grace of God or the second death. S Spencer has given you good information on the judgment seat of Jesus that we see happen in Revelation 20:4 this is after Jesus returns and the battle of Armageddon and the beast and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire and Satan is locked up for the 1000 years.
You can study Revelation 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 about these events. If we have a different understanding of the white throne judgment has nothing to do with our salvation, when this white throne comes down the earth and heaven are fled away. The first resurrection will be the chosen, and faithful who will reign with Christ for the 1000 years, Revelation 20:6.
The second resurrection is the rest of the dead, Revelation 20:5 the reason for my understanding that the white throne judgment is not for just the lost is Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. To me, if some names were not in the Book of Life there were some whose names were in the Book of Life.
Another reason is Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. John 5:28-29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
These verses are talking about one resurrection, not two, this is the last resurrection, and this to me points to the white throne judgment. We also have 1000 years between the two resurrections, many will live and die and those who are saved and those who are lost will be judged at this white throne judgment.
As we look at what is going on in the world and in the churches and congregations today, what do we see?
We see a world where sin, i.e. disobedience to God's law, is and has been multiplying as never before.
We see churches and congregations exhibiting a love for the world as the worship service has become a place for entertainment. And an abandonment of the Bible, the Word of God, as being the ultimate authority; where the church itself is the authority and not the Bible. We see a gospel being proclaimed where man is in control of their salvation and not God alonea do-it-yourself gospel where Christ has done His part and now it's up to us.
So where are we in God's time table of His plan for the churches and the world?
We are, I believe, living in the period describe in Matthew 24 and Mark 13, the Great Tribulation. A period where God's judgment has fallen upon the churches as we read in 1 Peter 4:17 and 2Thessalonians 2:1-12. And where God is preparing the world for His return on the clouds of glory at the Last Day.
It is also a time where God is reveling truth from His Word, the Bible, that has been hidden in times past as we read in Daniel 9 and Daniel 12.
Daniel 12:9 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
But God, in this time, is saving a "great multitude" as we read in Revelation 7:9. Ezekiel 36:24-38, Jeremiah 29, Jeremiah 30 and many other passages which are pictures of God's salvation during this time.
If there were ever a time where we should be searching the scriptures and praying that God in His mercy might lead us into truth, this is that time.
But we must search the scriptures using the principles that God lays down in His Word. A key principle is that Christ is the author of the entire Bible and that He "spoke in parables, and without a parable spake He not" Matthew 13:34 and Mark 4:34.
May God in His mercy open our spiritual ears as we search the scriptures.
As S Spencer has said this is not about salvation, through Jesus we have the gift of eternal life. Please do not be confused, the truth is in the Scriptures with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Many are looking to be taken to heaven before the great tribulation of Satan, the beast, and the false prophet.
We all will be judged Acts 17:31Hebrews 9:272 Corinthians 5:10
There will be two resurrections; the first is when Jesus returns, after Satan, the beast, and the false prophet have their 3.5 years of tribulation, Revelation 13:1-5Matthew 24:29-312 Thessalonians 2:1-5.
When Jesus returns with His angels, the first resurrection, the battle of Armageddon, the beast and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire, Satan is locked in the bottomless pit and Jesus will set up the kingdom, and those chosen, and faithful who are first resurrected will rule with Jesus, Revelation 16, 17, 18, 19. After the battle, in Revelation 20:5 we see Thrones and judgment is given to them who were in the first resurrection and given the honor to reign with Jesus during the 1000 years.
We see in Revelation 20:5-6 the rest of the dead lived not until after the 1000 years and the blessing on those who will be priests of God who will reign with Jesus in the millennium on earth, not heaven. There will be different rewards for the saved who will live in eternity with God and Jesus.
In Daniel 12:2-3 we see some will shine greater than others and also, we see those in this resurrection, there will be those who will awake to everlasting life, and some who will awake to everlasting contempt. We also see in John 5:28-29 and Matthew 25:31-46 what we see in the white throne judgment, Revelation 20:11-15 the rest of the dead, some will go into eternal life and some who are not found in the book of life is cast into the lake of fire.
There is much more to study, you should study for your conscience, we must not be deceived Matthew 24:4.
I am sure we all have thought about that, but it is hard to answer. We have a loving and just God wanting all to come to Him and be saved because He gave His only Son for the redemption of sins. Some may say no since the only way to the Father is through the Son but what about those who never had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus?
All of us have a conscience and the knowledge of good and evil, some get to a point of no return and God gives them over to a reprobate mind, Romans 1:28. Some go so far into evil that their conscience is seared with a hot iron, 1 Timothy 4:2, they do not know good from evil. I do not know if you have ever met someone like that, but you can see cold darkness in their eyes.
If we read Romans 1-16 it is not the hearers of the law but the doers of the law for they, have it written in their heart and their conscience bears witness. Our conscience records all we have ever done or thought. I believe this is about those who have heard the gospel and those who did not have a chance to hear it.
Many take the great white throne judgment as for the lost only, but I believe this is for those who are not in the first resurrection, Revelation 20:4-6. My understanding is the great white throne judgment goes with Daniel 12:2John 5:28-29Matthew 25:31-46 and Revelation 20:11-15.
As it says in Revelation 20:15 all that was not found in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. So, to me, this is all the rest of the dead Revelation 20:5 if some were not found, some are found in the Book of Life. Some who lived before Jesus first came and some after Jesus came who never heard the gospel, their conscience bearing witness, will be found in the Book of Life. As we see in John 8:9Acts 24:16Romans 9:12 Corinthians 1:121 Timothy 3:9Hebrews 13:18.
Thank you, brother, I know many have your understanding of this, and defining the difference between the soul and the spirit is difficult, in Scripture they seem to be interchangeable, at least it is for me. Salvation is not dependent on this, we know we are sealed and secure in Jesus regardless of what happens when we die.
In Genesis 2:7 Adam became a living being/soul the Hebrew word nephesh, in the New Testament it is the word psyche. My understanding this is who we are, our senses, desires, affections, appetites, intellect, and memories. The soul, who we are can be killed, Matthew 10:28. My understanding when we die is the soul/who we are, is asleep with our body in the grave, and is resurrected either to eternity with Jesus or is killed in the lake of fire.
Man cannot kill our soul all souls belong to God Ezekiel 18:4. God has offered a way of salvation for souls that are doomed to die, Hebrews 9:27. And we are told we can walk in the world or walk in the Spirit and Jesus told us the consequences, Matthew 16:26.
Spirit both the Hebrew word ruach and the Greek word pneuma translated as spirit have the concept of breath or wind at their roots. This part of us can be alive or dead Ephesians 2:4-5. The most enter part of us that connects or refuses to connect to God, like a radio receiver and it gives life to the body, Psalm 104:29James 2:26.
This is what returns to God when we die, there is no more communication our fate is set after we die our soul is asleep in death until we are resurrected, Daniel 12:2. I know you said you do not know Plato, Greek philosophy, many in those days were influenced, the spirit or soul is immortal and the descriptions of an underworld. I believe Jesus took parts of these fables and used them as subject matter in this parable.
My understanding the spirit does not have a body it gives life to the body, and we are resurrected and given an eternal spirit.
There are different understandings of this and the difference is based on whether one believes souls are immortal. My understanding is the immortal soul belief came from Greek philosophy, Platonism. This was blended into the Church along with the definition of death meaning separation, the separation of the soul from the body.
My understanding from scripture every part of us is mortal and when we die, we sleep in the dust/grave Job 14:12-14, Job 17:13-16.
When is a corn plant absent from its seed, it is when it springs forth from its grave of the earth. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 We are sown, we sleep in the grave, Daniel 12:2Acts 13:36 and until resurrection which there are two, Revelation 20:4-10 and Revelation 20:11-15.
We are sown in corruption it is raised in incorruption, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 We as mortal beings do not put on immortality until we are resurrected being freed from this body of corruption into a glorified body, then we will be present with the Lord, 1 Thessalonians 2:19.
May others give their understanding for you to study for yours.

Reading your comment,I would say there was a population in Eden ruled by an annointed Cherub, created by our GOD to protect the Garden,he was perfect in his ways from the Day that was created, till iniquity was found in him,and turned a thief and corrupt. And by him sin entered in the world,so our GOD cast him and the population of Eden to hell, the earth turned void and without form, and GOD delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto the Judgment( 2Peter 2:4& Jude 1:6-7)of this current seventh and last Day.Take a look 1Corinthians 6:2-3.
Our GOD did not say:I will make one man, but make man(many). The Plan of GOD was to restore all things. Acts 4:19-21->19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. 20 And He shall send JESUS Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which GOD hath spoken(preached)by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
In fact,GOD said:Let us make man,He was not alone. It is easy to understand because it is written that in JESUS,that is,in the beginning,GOD created the heavens and the earth(the 1st,2nd and 3rd heavens, and the heaven of heavens),and without JESUS nothing was made that was made.By the way,the 3rd heavenly place will be established from now on,even in this current millennium( Luke 20:35-36,combined with 1Corinthians 15:24-27+51-55,and Philippians 3:20-21).
The Word is GOD,GOD Himself,self-executing,understand?
Daniel 12:10
10Many shall be purified, made white, and tried;but the wicked shall do wickedly:none of the wicked shall understand;but the wise shall understand.
11From the time the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and abomination that makes desolate set up,there shall be 1290 days.
12Blessed is he that waits, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
Yes, there is much in this world against us and God that will only increase in intensity in the future. Daniel was told in Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Much of this knowledge along with the imagination of man is not being used for good.
We can see the earth is around 6000 years old and look at the last 50 years how knowledge has increased, and people can go to and fro all over the world in just a short time, things are going faster every day. We must be strong in our faith and ready to face "the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world".
6And at midnight(at the turn from he sixth to the seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day)there was a cry made,Behold, the bridegroom cometh;go ye out to MEET Him.
Acts 1:8-11
8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you:and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9And when JESUS had spoken these things, while they beheld,He was taken up;and a CLOUD received JESUS out of their sight.
10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as JESUS went up, behold,TWO MEN stood by them in white apparel; (Comment: Would the two men had been Gabriel and Michael- Daniel 12:6-13 combined with Genesis 19:1-3and 12-15?By the way, what is the difference between sea & river in the Scriptures?Being the sea=waters=peoples and nations, and multitudes of all tongues, and the waters of the river:Who are them? Are not them exclusively the elected people of GOD redeemed by JESUS- John 7:38-, or even His Church,His body?)
11The two men said:Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?this same JESUS,which is taken up from you into heaven, shall SO COME IN LIKE MANNER(in the same place, and the same CLOUD- Matthew 24:30)as ye have seen JESUS go into heaven.
1Thes.4:16-18
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of GOD:and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the cloud,to meet the Lord in the air(in the ineffable, indescribable, unspeakable environment of the 3rd heaven)and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Matt. 25:10 ->And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came;and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage:and the door was shut.
The Word of GOD is from everlasting to everlasting, the Word is GOD, GOD Himself,self-executing.Great mystery-> Matthew 11:27
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that WE MUST through much TRIBULATION enter into the kingdom of GOD.
Re.11:15:The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD(DEVIL's WORLD)are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ;and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Re.11:18-And the NATIONS were(will be)angry(why?),and GOD's WRATH is come...-->WHAT WILL BE THE CONSEQUENCES IN ALL THE NATIONS?All will see from now on.The message for ALL the believers is:GET READY,and do what the Lord GOD commands:--> Isaiah 26:20-21,and trust in the Word of GOD--> Psalm 91 among many other biblical references.
NOW,even now,the current time-->it is the time of the dead that they should be Judged--> Isaiah 26:19 combined with Daniel 12:1-4,and 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16;
NOW, even now-->the Lord GOD should give REWARD unto His servants the prophets,and to the saints( 1Corinthians 6:2 combined with Daniel 7:22 andd 26-27),and them that fear HIS NAME,small and great;
NOW,even NOW,from NOW on -->our Lord GOD should DESTROY them which destroy the earth.-> 2Peter 3:11->Seeing then that all these things shall be DISSOLVED(AS AN IMPLOSION),what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of GOD, wherein the heavens being on fire(THE HEAVENLY ENVIRONMENT ESTABLISHED BY GOD OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS-BOTH COVENANTS)shall be DISSOLVED,and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13Nevertheless we,according to his promise, look for new heavens and a NEW earth( Acts 3:19-21),wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Revelation 16:15-->15Behold,I come as a thief.Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Mat.24:22-23
22And except these days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:but for the elect's sake these days shall be shortened.
23Then if any man shall say unto you,Lo,here is Christ,or there;believe it not.->be careful
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half (42 months or 1260 days- Luke 21:24 combined with Revelation 11:2 and Revelation 13:5-9, take a look); and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the END of these things?
9And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the END.(this time ARRIVED, get ready)
10Many shall be purified, and made white, and TRIED; the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the WISE shall understand.
11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away(END OF THE DISPENSATION OF GRACE), and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go thou thy way till the END be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the END of the days.-->this time of the END ARRIVED. Matthew 25:29- Unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Get ready, be careful. JESUS warned: fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell-Mat.10:28.
The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing, understand?
Thank you for your reply, many consider this subject non-discussable.
As for Luke 15 and 16, if one takes this as a real story that would mean when we die, we go to Hades, the saved go to the good side and the lost are in the flames. I am sorry I do not see that in Scripture, this chapter is parables given to the Pharisees and scribes for their murmuring and their unrighteous love of mammon/money and their neglect of the true riches.
I understand you and others do not believe we sleep in death until the resurrection. The Greek philosophy of the meaning of death is the separation of the soul from the body, and our soul is immortal which was introduced into the Roman Church this is not from Scripture our soul can die, Daniel 12:21 Thessalonians 4:14, and many more.
The word Godhead is in the KJV 3 times, three different Greek words meaning Divine, Divinity, and Deity changed to Godhead in the 16th Century, which can be misleading. My understanding is Jesus's victory was not won until God raised Jesus from death. "His soul was proclaiming the truth to the lost in hades" I suppose this is from 1 Peter 3:18-20, nowhere does this say Jesus was in Hades, these are people before the flood and it also says it was after He was quickened by the Spirit, so He was not in the grave.
Ephesians 4:8 Jesus led captivity captive that is those in captivity of sin captive to Himself, not OT saints from the grave. If the OT saints were resurrected when He was why would He leave David, Acts 2:29-34 the Firstfruits will not be raised until Jesus returns.
In John 8:28 "When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he" Matthew 27:50-54 is the fulfillment. Jesus was in and out of consciousness on the cross when He cried out the word resurrection is a Greek word meaning waking up, all the things in 51-53 happened when Jesus died, the saints did not go to heaven they went into Jerusalem and appeared to many.
GOD is in control of history, nothing random happens.
What I know is that the four riders of Apocalypse, one of GOD and three of the Devil, they are already running /walking with their powers that are reflected in whole world.
It is up to the believing followers of JESUS to identify who the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are,
the rider of the white horse is Michael( Daniel 12:1-3 combined with 1Thessalonians 4:16),
and the rider of the red horse in my view is Trump,
but who is the rider of the black horse?
And the pale horse, who is the rider whose NAME is called Death, and Hell follow with him? Is not he the MAN of sin, son of perdition, who will manifest himself very soon as the messiah of the Jews ( John 5:43-47 combined with Revelation 13:11-18) even now, in the last week, week 70th Daniel 9:27 combined with 2Thessalonians 2:3-4 and 9-12, as soon as be elected the next and last Pope? As is written, Power will be given UNTO THEM over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the ruthless beasts of the earth?
The battle is/will be against three unclean spirits like frogs- Revelation 16:13-15. Why frogs? ->there is something in the site of purebible.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the MOUTH of the dragon( Revelation 13:11), and out of the MOUTH of the Beast (Beast of sea- Revelation 13:1-9, the Papacy), and out of the MOUTH of the False Prophet( John 5:43-47).
14 For they are the SPIRITS OF DEMONS, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that Great Day of GOD Almighty.
We all have inside us, a sinful nature from the first Adam, we also have a conscience, the knowledge of good and evil, and the knowledge of God. We first see this when Adam and Eve hid themselves because they were naked. We see some go so far into the darkness that their conscience can be seared, the conscience no longer tells them good from evil, 1 Timothy 4:2. There is a point where God turns them over to a reprobate mind, Romans 1:28-32.
I believe there will be those who enter eternity who have never heard the gospel, and those who lived before Jesus first came because we have a loving and just God.
Romans 2:11-16 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
My understanding is this will happen at the great white throne judgment, Revelation 20:11-15, in this it says, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire". If some were not found in the Book of Life means some were found in it. I know many may not agree but if we consider verses like Daniel 12:2Matthew 25:31-46John 5:28-29 to me these also point to this white throne judgment.
I am sure our loving and just God communicates with those who have not had a chance to read or hear Scripture, I believe the blood of Christ will cover them as well.
Does our soul live on after we die? Do the souls of the dead roam around on the earth and some are in heaven and some are in hell? This is my understanding, the thought or belief in ghosts or spirits of people, some going to heaven and some going to hell comes from the teaching that the soul is immortal, and the soul never dies. It started when the serpent told Eve you shall not surely die, many ancient nations had different forms of religious beliefs on the immortality of the soul, and what we see today was adopted from Greek philosophy.
Are there evil spirits, devils, and demons on this earth? Yes, and these are what people are encountering, my understanding of the Bible they are not the souls of people. God told Israel and it applies to us today, not to deal with mediums or spiritualism those who work divination. We see Saul doing it in 1 Samuel 28 and he died because he did it, 1 Chronicles 10:13.
We sleep in death when we die Psalm 13:3Matthew 27:52John 11:11-141 Corinthians 15:20. We only put on immortality when we are resurrected, Job 14:13-14Daniel 12:21 John 5:28-29 Corinthians 15:51-54. I hope this helps but you and your husband study it for your understanding, not mine.
15For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel(Michael- Daniel 12:1-3),and with the trump of GOD:and the dead in Christ shall rise first:(resurrection of the believers)
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the CLOUD(same cloud of Acts 1:9-11),to meet the Lord in the AIR(on high,3rd heaven,THE NEXT TO BE ESTABLISHED BY THE ALMIGHTY GOD- Micah 4:1-8 combined with 2Corinthians 12:2-4 and Luke 20:35-36,and John 14:3 and John 17:24,among other biblical references),and so shall we(THE ELECTS)ever be with the Lord.
Matthew 25:6&10
6And at midnight there was a cry made(TURN from the sixth to the seventh Day-Lord's Day),Behold, the bridegroom cometh;GO YOU OUT TO MEET HIM.
10...the bridegroom came;and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage:and the door was shut.
Get ready
2Thessalonians 1:7-12
7And to you who are troubled rest with us,when the Lord Jesus shall be REVEALED from heaven with his mighty angels,
8In flaming FIRE taking VENGEANCE on them that know not GOD ( Matthew 11:27),and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9Who shall be PUNISHED with everlasting DESTRUCTION from the PRESENCE of the Lord,and from the Glory of His Power;
10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe(because our testimony among you was believed)in that day.->Lord's Day,seventh and last Day
Yes, The whole Word of God is a PROPHECY of the Kingdom of GOD, including the book of Genesis; as you have said.
Genesis 1:26-27
27 So GOD created man in His own image, in the image of GOD created He him; male and female created He them.
28 And GOD blessed them, and GOD said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it
To frutify, and multiply, and to replenish th earth, GOD created the woman, by allegory the true Church of the Lord.
GOD sent JESUS and JESUS came in the fourth Day-the Greater Light- around 4000 yers after Adam- John 5:17. Around 27/30AD, i.e. in the beginning of the fifth Day, around 2000 years ago, JESUS said to the Jews: John 2:19 and 21: ->19 Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
21 But he spake of the temple of His body. (what our Lord JESUS said and revealed, physically He would resurrect in the third day (a day of 24 hours, of course); but spiritually, our Lord was speaking of his body the Church, it will rise up now in the 3rd Day, a Day of 1000 years, after have bear fruit, multiplied itself for 2000 years, and will replenish the earth with the resurrection of multitudes according 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17:
15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel(Michael- Daniel 12:1-3), and with the trump of GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (the resurrection of the believers in Christ JESUS)
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the cloud(the same cloud in Acts 1:9-11,take a look), to meet the Lord in the air(on high, the 3rd heaven- Micah 4:1-8 combined with 2Corinthians 12:2-4 and Luke 20:35-36, among other biblical references, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Unfortunately what you have stated puts mankind in control of salvation. And if I may paraphrase what you are saying somewhat crassly:
God has done His part and now it's up to us.
And there certainly are verses when taken in isolation that might support that view. (see my responses to Spencer and Adam)
That conclusion, however, flys in the face of many other statements God makes about the Nature of Salvation, the Nature of Mankind, and the Nature of God's Justice and Judgment.
Romans 3:10-18, Romans 9, Ezekiel 36:24-32, Eph 2:1 and many many more.
God did not write the Bible in a way that is easy to come to truth. In fact He wrote it in a way to reveal truth if we follow the principles that God lays down, but also to hide truth. 2 Timothy 3:16 and Matthew 13:10-17.
God also has a time table for revealing truth from the Bible. Romans 16:25,26 and Daniel 12:9. Christ the perfect preacher taught many things about His death and resurrection, yet His disciples did not understand until after the fact.
Most importantly we must be looking to God Himself, praying that He might open our spiritual eyes and ears as we search the Bible comparing Scripture with Scripture. This is not quick or easy business.
Hello SeanPaul. 2 Peter 3:8 can be understood in a couple of ways. One, similar to what Oseas has shared here, & the other (which I strongly lean to), is that Peter in this verse, is not giving us a specific number of years to calculate from; rather, that we are to understand that with God Who lives in eternity (i.e. outside of time), that even one of our earthly days, or a thousand, or even a million of our days, is to God as inconsequential & remains unaffected by them. God doesn't work based on our time scale but according to His Plan & Will for things to happen; and His Will is not governed by our clock. However, where certain days are given to us (e.g. Daniel 12:10-12, of the time of the Great Tribulation), then we are obliged to use those numbers to learn from. So I see a difference in how we are to read such Scriptures.
In our current stage; we do well to keep a healthy distance from spending a lot of time reading news. The best way to get some idea of the truth is to read alternative as well as mainstream news and try to piece things together. We don't want to react like Job in chapter 3; verse 25 when he said that essentially his worst fears came upon him. Easier said than done; of course.
The mainstream narrative wants us to bring about a "self fulfilling prophecy" by conditioning the masses to react a certain way then have a "solution" to a crisis that itself is worse than the problem. It frequently exacerbates an issue by pitting one side against another; and usually is bias leaning far too much one way or another in international affairs. Alternative news brings a different angle but still can be biased. This helps us usually to hear about what is going on in nations that are of little interest to the West where nonetheless significant things are occurring.
We know; of course that He is with us until the end of the Age; whether that be defined as the end of the church age; or the Second Coming. There are people still coming to faith; no matter how bleak things are. Think of how miraculous that is; with the majority (70 something percent) believing in God about 40 years ago; and now 26 percent (unknown poll my Pastor mentioned Sunday). By and large the churches are turning into the Whore of Babylon; let's face it between the political agenda and the merging of religions we definitely see a sinking ship with churches in general today. We need to keep in mind that the Laodicean church still has a remnant in it. There is still a Philadelphia church; I would argue even if the main period in history for that typology passed a hundred years ago. As Daniel says none of the wicked only the wise understand ( Daniel 12:10) and the righteous will shine like the sun ( Matt. 13:43). Let us remain as "salt and light" ( Matt. 5:13).
28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;they did eat,they drank,they bought,they sold,they planted,they builded;
29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
What was there or what happened in Sodoma, and Gomorra, and in the neighboring cities? Well,GOD sent two men there. And they said unto Lot,Hast thou here any besides?son in law,and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:For we will DESTROY THIS PLACE,because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord;and the Lord hath SENT US to DESTROY IT-Gen.19:12-13.
And Lot went out,and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place;for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law-Gen.19:14.
Again:Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.Yes, even thus shall it be now, even now, from now on,the difference is that now is sent only one,not two men,and now the order/the command is to DESTROY THE WHOLE WORLD OF THE DEVIL,the process of destruction of the Devil's world is already running, understand?
Do you believe or you are like the sons in law of Lot thinking that I'm moking you?No surprise,if so.JESUS said:even thus will be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.Who is he?Michael- Daniel 12:1-3, Matthew 24:15-25 and 1Thessalonians 4:16.
Get ready
Satan will be cast down into the bottomless pit,and his followers- 1Corinthians 6:9-10 and Revelation 21:8-,will be cast into the lake of fire.
Re.20:1-3->1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years...and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more
17The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
And JESUS said (around 2000 years ago): let the dead (they which have not the Spirit of GOD, Spirit of life) bury their dead. Matthew 8:17
Daniel 12:1-2 combined with 1Thessalonians 4:16
Michael comes first, and after of him comes Lord JESUS.
12:1 at that time(at this current time, or at this Day, the Lord's Day, the seventh and last Day/millennium)shall Michael (the archangel) stand up, ...
12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake (RESURRECTION), some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
1 Thes.4:15- For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord (the Word is GOD, self-executing), that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent(precede) them which are asleep.
1 Thes. 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel-Michael- , and with the Trump of GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
And 1Corinthians 15:51-54 reveal:
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,(Compare with Philippians 3:20-21)
52 ...at the last trump:for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(the trumpet shall sound:Re.11:15-And the seventh angel sounded;and there were great voices in heaven(heaven??? Ephesians 1:3-8), saying, The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Matthew 5:5-JESUS said: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth).
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (CAUGHT???)
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written,Death is swallowed up in victory.-Hallelujaaaah!!!
Scripture tells us Jesus returns only one time, Zachariah 14:4 Matthew 24:30Acts 1:111 Thessalonians 4:16-17Hebrews 9:28Rev. 1:7Rev. 6:15-16. When Jesus returns those who are chosen and faithful are resurrected to reign on earth with Jesus, Rev. 17:14Daniel 2:44Daniel 7:26-272 Timothy 2:12Rev. 5:10Rev. 11:15.
This reign on earth begins after the tribulation and the armies of Satan, the beast, the false prophet, and the ten kings/countries of the beast who destroy mystery Babylon come to battle Jesus in the battle of Armageddon, Zachariah 14:1-3 Ezekiel 39:17-22Rev. 19:17-19Rev. 16:13-16. In Rev. 20 we see Satan bound and sealed in the bottomless pit for 1000 years. Jesus then sets up the Kingdom on earth and we see the judgment of those in the first resurrection who will be reigning with Jesus on earth for 1000 years Rev. 20:4-6.
The 1000-year Kingdom will be on the earth, but it will be very different from the world today without the temptation of Satan, Isaiah 65:25Zechariah 14:16 It will be a time when Lord Jesus and those chosen to rule the nations with an iron rod so that all the promises of God be fulfilled, all the boundaries of land God promised Abraham have never been, Genesis 15:18-20Numbers 34:1-12 but they will in the future.
We know from Rev. 20:7-10, that there will be nations after the 1000 years that Satan will go out to deceive and bring them together to battle. After this battle, a fire burns up the earth and Satan is cast into the lake of fire, "the earth and the heaven fled away" The final Judgment of the white throne is not just for the lost, and all in this judgment who is not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire, Rev. 20:11-15, Daniel 12:2Matthew 25:32-46John 5:28-29.
Cont in Part 13
Cont in Part 8
More in part 2
Continued in Part 2
God bless,
RLW
We all will be judged Acts 17:31 Hebrews 9:27 2 Corinthians 5:10
There will be two resurrections; the first is when Jesus returns, after Satan, the beast, and the false prophet have their 3.5 years of tribulation, Revelation 13:1-5 Matthew 24:29-31 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5.
God bless,
RLW
My understanding is the great white throne judgment goes with Daniel 12:2 John 5:28-29 Matthew 25:31-46 and Revelation 20:11-15.
As we see in John 8:9 Acts 24:16 Romans 9:1 2 Corinthians 1:12 1 Timothy 3:9 Hebrews 13:18.
This is my understanding.
God bless,
RLW
The most enter part of us that connects or refuses to connect to God, like a radio receiver and it gives life to the body, Psalm 104:29 James 2:26.
Thanks again, God bless,
RLW
There are different understandings of this and the difference is based on whether one believes souls are immortal. My understanding is the immortal soul belief came from Greek philosophy, Platonism. This was blended into the Church along with the definition of death meaning separation, the separation of the soul from the body.
My understanding from scripture every part of us is mortal and when we die, we sleep in the dust/grave Job 14:12-14, Job 17:13-16.
When is a corn plant absent from its seed, it is when it springs forth from its grave of the earth. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 We are sown, we sleep in the grave, Daniel 12:2 Acts 13:36 and until resurrection which there are two, Revelation 20:4-10 and Revelation 20:11-15.

JESUS's sacrifice lasts 738500 days

NOW,even now,the current time-->it is the time of the dead that they should be Judged--> Isaiah 26:19 combined with Daniel 12:1-4,and 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16;
NOW, even now-->the Lord GOD should give REWARD unto His servants the prophets,and to the saints( 1Corinthians 6:2 combined with Daniel 7:22 andd 26-27),and them that fear HIS NAME,small and great;
NOW,even NOW,from NOW on -->our Lord GOD should DESTROY them which destroy the earth.-> 2Peter 3:11->Seeing then that all these things shall be DISSOLVED(AS AN IMPLOSION),what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of GOD, wherein the heavens being on fire(THE HEAVENLY ENVIRONMENT ESTABLISHED BY GOD OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS-BOTH COVENANTS)shall be DISSOLVED,and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the END of these things?

The Greek philosophy of the meaning of death is the separation of the soul from the body, and our soul is immortal which was introduced into the Roman Church this is not from Scripture our soul can die, Daniel 12:2 1 Thessalonians 4:14, and many more.
God bless,

ATTENTION!
15 Behold, I come as a thief.
Be careful and Get ready
As S Spencer said we may not know for sure.
I know many may not agree but if we consider verses like Daniel 12:2 Matthew 25:31-46 John 5:28-29 to me these also point to this white throne judgment.
I am sure our loving and just God communicates with those who have not had a chance to read or hear Scripture, I believe the blood of Christ will cover them as well.
God bless,
RLW
We sleep in death when we die Psalm 13:3 Matthew 27:52 John 11:11-14 1 Corinthians 15:20. We only put on immortality when we are resurrected, Job 14:13-14 Daniel 12:2 1 John 5:28-29 Corinthians 15:51-54. I hope this helps but you and your husband study it for your understanding, not mine.

9Who shall be PUNISHED with everlasting DESTRUCTION from the PRESENCE of the Lord,and from the Glory of His Power;

Isaiah 28:21 and 10:23; Romans 9:28 and 8:18-25
Unfortunately what you have stated puts mankind in control of salvation.
28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;they did eat,they drank,they bought,they sold,they planted,they builded;

Get ready --> Matthew 25:10
Scripture tells us Jesus returns only one time, Zachariah 14:4 Matthew 24:30 Acts 1:11 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Hebrews 9:28 Rev. 1:7 Rev. 6:15-16. When Jesus returns those who are chosen and faithful are resurrected to reign on earth with Jesus, Rev. 17:14 Daniel 2:44 Daniel 7:26-27 2 Timothy 2:12 Rev. 5:10 Rev. 11:15.
This reign on earth begins after the tribulation and the armies of Satan, the beast, the false prophet, and the ten kings/countries of the beast who destroy mystery Babylon come to battle Jesus in the battle of Armageddon, Zachariah 14:1-3 Ezekiel 39:17-22 Rev. 19:17-19 Rev. 16:13-16. In Rev. 20 we see Satan bound and sealed in the bottomless pit for 1000 years. Jesus then sets up the Kingdom on earth and we see the judgment of those in the first resurrection who will be reigning with Jesus on earth for 1000 years Rev. 20:4-6.
The 1000-year Kingdom will be on the earth, but it will be very different from the world today without the temptation of Satan, Isaiah 65:25 Zechariah 14:16 It will be a time when Lord Jesus and those chosen to rule the nations with an iron rod so that all the promises of God be fulfilled, all the boundaries of land God promised Abraham have never been, Genesis 15:18-20 Numbers 34:1-12 but they will in the future.
20:11-15, Daniel 12:2 Matthew 25:32-46 John 5:28-29.
God bless,
