Q Obviously the command " Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates,"does not relate to the river Euphrates. What are the four angels mentioned in v.14?
A: It is to be spiritually understood as relating to the throne of God. "The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever." The Law presented the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters, so the depths shall recognise the sovereignty of the Law of the Spirit. "So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." The depths is synonymous with hell that followed the rider on the pale horse.
God gives the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ relates to the heart, a spiritual space. similarly caul and kidneys relates to the appetites of man who is earthy, for which reason God commanded under the Law of Moses to to burnt.(Le.9:10).Man who is chosen to be holy and without blame are to place themselves under the Law. (Ps.50:5) God makes angels spirits so the river is also associated with them.
"And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads."(Ge.2:10,14) The river under four heads is similar to four angels " I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth,"(Re.7:1). God's blessings follow according to the word of God.
I'm not sure what part of this website you are referring to, but each addition they have in the band across the top; KJB standard, KJB 1611, or Mobile all have chapters 4 and 5 included and I don't understand what you are saying about Revelations 22:18-19. They are worded on this website exactly as they are written in my King James study bible.
If I am misunderstanding what you are saying, please forgive me and perhaps you can explain it some more. God Bless :)
Q:St John quotes in Ch.9 another number which he heard and what does 200 thousand thousand signify?
A:The seven seals that the Lamb broke sequentially in Ch.6 spoken the wrath of the Lamb revealed from heaven, " against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness."(Ro.1:18) The fourth horsemen was invested with power,"And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."(6:8) The command number Four signified Christ the word become flesh. He is the Son who in trinity serves as the soul. In trespass against his soul, "and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed."(Nu.5:7). It is in the sense the prodigal son confessed his sin." Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,"( Luke 15:18) 20x10x1000x1000.
The breaking open seven seals is condemnation meted out to the disbelieving. Death into the world because of sin and Hell followed. This is what the fifth angel sounds. (9:1). Locust let loose are intended to torment those who do not have 'the seal of God in their foreheads.' These locusts are given "power, as the scorpions of the earth have power." Similarly when the sixth angel sounds " and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,"(Re.9:13) 144,000 belonged to the group redeemed from the furnace,"and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."(Re.15:2)
As a SPIRITUALLY ORDAINED and SANCIFIED MINISTER of Jesus Christ God Almighty, according to Romans 13:1-4, come as prophesied MANIFEST WITHIN ME, according to Isaiah 9:2, 6-7; St. Matthew 4:16; St. John 14:1-21, highlighting verses 20-21, and 2 Corinthians 4:1-7, I have recently sadly discovered that at least two (2) highly important chapters of the OFFICIAL KJV of the Bible of THIS WEBSITE have been wrongfully and shamefully removed, being 1 John chapters 4 and 5! I know for a fact they have been present this year. Suddenly they're now both gone! Please return these chapters of the Bible immediately, including any other chapters I'm not currently aware have been removed as well! Please note, the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation 22, verses 18-19, as it is written (KJV)
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
We seen the wind in action, "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Response to this we read here,"The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled."(Ps.77:16) The word already gone forth so the Red sea parts on divine command as the waters know the one who rides on the wings of the wind. "There is war in heaven" (Re.12:7) and we see it as in the vision Daniel, "and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea."(Dan.7:2-3) God allows man to determine whether he be of light and darkness and it leads to the four beasts step into the world stage. "And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another." Nevertheless they are under judgment and in the vision of St John we have the four winder under restraint. "And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." (7:1). The angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God" explains the 144,000 are from the left behind church. "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." (2 Ti.2:19). They have been rather negligent. But they redeem themselves by stepping into the breach of the tribes of Israel now defunct. Like Seth before them they submit themselves to the great tribulation. The number of martyrs are tagged by the everlasting gospel (12x12x1000) as with other group mentioned in Re.14:1. They also bear the tag,"the servants of our God"( 7:3) Also significant is that John reports the effect of the moving Spirit: "And I heard the number of them which were sealed".c.f "and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear."(Ac.2:33)
Q:In the visions of Daniel and St John the wind plays a significant role. Can you elaborate on this?
A: We can only draw inferences from what the Spirit has indicated and these must serve for our instruction in righteousness. Within these parameters let us walk through the Scripture. The nature of wind as Jesus explains it, "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth." But God a Spirit"who walketh upon the wings of the wind," is in control. The Law of the Spirit must take over how the wind operates. Thou hearest the sound thereof' refers to the manner the Law directs the word of God. It sends as a cloven tongue so it gives all who were gathered in one place, as promised by the risen Christ. "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." So the men were under the will of God. "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."(Ac.2:1-4) As with cloven tongues of fire the Law gives a body in accordance with the word. It was thus John the Baptist recognized that Jesus was the Lamb of God.( John 1:33) In short the Law of the Spirit chooses the body in accordance with the will of God. So walking upon the wings of the wind explains the word that is sent forth from God.(Is.55:11). The sign is set by the Word and validated by the Law. So Jesus presents the church as sins and wonders. (Is.8:18;He.2:13)
In the vision of Ezekiel, who is a sign and also designated as the son of man we have this,"Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, Son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live."(Ez.37:9). The Law is life ("by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."-Ro.8:11)
Q:"And that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."When one receives Jesus Christ one is placing himself under the Law of the Spirit so to speak. Is it not?
A:Yes. Predestination otherwise has no value. In spiritual terms law of sin operating over the sinful flesh is dead and as new creation you were as John in his Gospel says," No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." ( John 1:18). You were in the divine Will since you received the word as the truth.Without hitching your wagon to the Word which was made flesh you cannot be conformed in the image of his Son. Predestination is set on the basis of the Law of the Spirit that is what St Paul refers to the Father as "who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ."Consider the blessing of the glorious body the Father had provided,"A body hast thou me prepared'' glory of which is from God. In the Vision of Dry Bones we are told how God fleshes us out according to his purpose."Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:/And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord."(Ez.37:5-6) It is our faith that makes it possible."but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live./ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."(Ro.8:13-14)
Another blessing is being taught of the Lord how to conduct ourselves in this wicked world and among untoward generation. In 2 Sa,5 23-25 God helped David win a victory over th philistines and all he had to wait for His signal. It is thus we are helped from above. We are alive to be led by by the Spirit but dead to the ways of the world.
In your patience possess ye your souls. ( Luke 21:19).
"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain." ( James 5:7).
There are many verses on the subject of patience or longsuffering both related to God and His approved servants who eventually enter into their reward. There is no doubt that God honors those who persevere but we also need to recall the situation of Lot who as 2 Peter 2:7 states ...And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked". We don't want to be too comfortable with evil around us and in particular become compromised to maintain a lifestyle of ease. As we see with Lot his choice to enter the well watered lowlands looked good when he split up from Abraham but in the end he escaped literally from the flames with the collateral damage of what happened to his wife.
Patience therefore with our own sin can't be tolerated. We also are to sound our voice as a trumpet as Jeremiah did and the other Prophets. God patiently endures vessels fitted for destruction ( Romans 9:22; read on to verse 23). Wickedness will not be tolerated in God's Kingdom when He reigns on earth after He comes again. We need to see that God is refining us through the wickedness of sinners opposed to us and generally in rebellion that we see all around us. We don't know who is going to come to Christ and also we should keep in mind John 15:2 and 2 Timothy 2:21 where the branches we possess as believers can be purged or other useless appendages cut out from sinful connections to our dead past that we hang on to.
God will complete the work He has started ( Philippians 1:6). He will see all His sheep who hear His voice eventually enter heaven and safe pasture; and all the goats will be judged.
These earthly trials will soon be over; let us encourage one another until He comes.
It is good to hear from you. I have not posted much in weeks. I am currently doing some private study preparing to post some of what I discover when it is the right timing.
We are very busy now with caring for our grandchild Tues-Thurs while mom and dad are at work.
And we are just now moving things back into our kitchen now that the cabinets and appliance are in. Hopefully things will slow down in a month or so when the contracted work gets completed. Everything looks so great. We feel very blessed to finally get to do this remodel after being here 30 years (and the home was in need of remodel when we first moved in). So, God made a way for us to do this remodel and we are thankful. Should pretty much do us fine until we are called home by our Lord.
Acts 4:20 - For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Literally, in the Greek text it says, "We cannot not speak." Because they know it's not them. And it's what they've seen and heard. We were witnesses of God's Spirit in us.
So, he says whether it's right or wrong to obey you or not obey you, you are going to have to judge. But we cannot but speak in the name of Jesus!
Acts 4:24 - And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
And when they heard what the rulers had said, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God.
The word "Lord" is a different word than what is usually translated Lord (KURIOS). This is the word DESPOT, for master. I kind of like that! Instead of calling Him Lord, calling Him Master. It has kind of a finality to it!
Lord, Master, thou art God! This is from Exodus 20:11, who has made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them. You're the creator!
Acts 4:29 - And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
It says grant your servants, and the word servants is the word slaves, DULOS. Grant your slaves, that with all boldness they may speak the word. Now God's servants are threatened, and they call themselves slaves in front of the Master.
Wow! In other words, "I am a slave serving the Master in predetermined circumstances." That's what it is! It is all designed by God. It doesn't require complaining. I am just a slave to serve the Master of the universe in His predetermined plan and council.
Acts 3:15 - And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Literal translation: "You have killed the author of life." Whom God has raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Acts 3:26 - Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
The word iniquities is the word wickedness or evil. So, he says God first sent Him to bless you, and to turn you away from your evil, and look what you did to Him!
Acts 4:13 - Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
Literally, "unlearned" means ungrammared. That's what the word is. It means these people don't have any kind of education. They're just dumb fisherman!
But it's the word "ignorant" in this verse that really draws attention. It is the Greek word IDIOTES which origin is IDIOS. It's where we get our English word idiot from. Except the word itself, idiot, is not really used in a disparaging way. IDIOS in Greek means privately taught. It would be equivalent to home schooling today. An IDIOS is somebody who doesn't go through the public system.
And so, they took notice of them that they had not been to the Rabbinical schools on theology. Oh, they were up to date all right! But they just noticed that they don't have any degrees from the "University of Jerusalem," that they haven't been to the Rabbinic schools.
But look what they did notice. They took knowledge that they had been with Jesus. That's why they are the way they are! It's not because of their education, but because of their relationship.
Acts 2:45 - And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
So, they sold their possessions and their goods, and they parted them to all the men, to every man that had need. The term "had need" in the Imperfect Tense means that continuously the people had a need.
Let's say for instance that I went to work, and I got a paycheck of 100 dollars for this week. Whatever I make, I go and give it to the church and the church gives back to me what I need. Now I might only need 50 dollars for that week. The extra 50 dollars goes to somebody that's in need. I only get what I need!
And so, when it came time to take care of the need, if there was a need and you had to sell your property, they just did it because my property belongs to the Lord and to the church.
Acts 2:46 - And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
And they continually, daily with one accord, (again, with one purpose and one passion), they were in the temple, and they were breaking bread from house to house.
Not only with the communion, but they also had the suppers together from house to house. I like that part! It's like an "early church potluck!"
Acts 3:2 - And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
And there was a certain man lame from his mother's womb. He was carried, Imperfect Tense, meaning he was constantly carried. Every day they carried him, and they laid him at the front of the temple.
They laid him daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful. This is the east gate as it leads into the temple. And he would ask for alms. The word alms mean acts of mercy.
Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Peter said to them, Repent.
The word repent (METANOEO) means make a decision for change. It also carries with it the understanding that you can't change yourself. You're just making the decision for change, and you're surrendering your life to Christ for Him to make the change.
Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
The term "save yourselves" in the Greek, that is what's called a Passive Voice. It's literally "be saved!" It means that you are receiving the action of the salvation. You can't save yourself! Be saved. Let God save you. Call upon Him to save you. Be saved from this untoward, literally, crooked generation.
Acts 2:44 - And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And all that believed. That's a Present Participle. Everybody believing, they were together and had all things in common.
The word "common" is the word KOINONIA. It is the same word for fellowship. The early church, when it says they had all things in common, what it really means is that "Whatever is yours is mine, and whatever is mine is yours!"
Whatever a person owns, it's put into the "big pot" with everybody else, and it belongs to everybody!
Acts 2:11 - Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
The word "wonderful" comes from the Greek word MEGALEIA that means great, or greatness. From, or through these languages, they were speaking the great things of God.
Acts 2:13 - Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
The word "new" is the Greek word GLEUKOSE that means sweet wine. And so, the people who were mocking would actually be the Palestinian Jews who are there in town (the home town people), because to them, they wouldn't understand what they were saying.
Acts 2:17 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
It says, "And it shall come to pass." In the Greek text it says "And it will be." And in Verse 21, it says "And it shall come to pass," and it's literally, "And it will be!" Two platform verses!
Acts 2:18 - And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
He says even on my servants (DOULOUS) and on my handmaidens (DOULAS), meaning slaves, both male and female, I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: That is, speak the word of God!
Acts 2:24 - Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
The word "pains" is a Greek word used for the birth pains of a woman in labor.
Q: "Both breath of God and the Spirit of Christ go into the making of a man So soul explains him "after our image" but what precisely makes him predestinated?
A: Let us take each according to the word given in the scripture. God formed man of the dust of the ground," and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." In terms of after our image the Son is the soul of God a Spirit. The body of man is from the earth, the world made to appear. The earth abides forever since the day is decreed for the Son. This brings the Law of the Spirit into it. The Law is life that explains the Father Son relationship. "but the Spirit is life because of righteousness." This is life the context in which the covenant was drawn up between the two. So what determines 'in the beginning' ? The Law which is God. The Word was with God and 'in the beginning' establishes the Logos aspect of Jesus Christ. "I and my Father are one" ( John 10:30;He.13:8) is established by the Law. By the same token in the fulness of time underpins the Law of the Spirit.
The Law of the Spirit is figuratively expressed as Ancient of days. Seven is the command number for Law with which the red dragon shall be judged/ The seven heads stamp him as the embodiment of the law of sin/ (Re.12:3) Ancient of days sets the judgment "And the books were opened."Dan.7:10). The book of life lists all who were chosen, "in him before the foundation of the world,."(Ep.1:4-6). Those who entered into the covenant by faith are new creation and abiding in Christ as the Lamb in Re.5:6 are shown having sen horns and seven eyes. The risen Jesus as the Son "he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost." Parallelism of the Father Son establishes that we are predestinated.
I will pray for you. What an awful and hurtful this rape was for you. May you find healing. Being forgiving towards the one who assaulted you is a good thing. Being able to forget it does not always happen in this life, but it can come to that for some. I don't think that forgetting it happened is necessary. Everyone's journey from such trauma is their own journey. I hope that you do not have any form of contact with this person and that he will serve time for this crime.
I am glad you shared this request. There are many here who will pray for you.
RED APPLE TREATY 4 ME ONLY on Galatians 5:24 - 5 months ago
Galatians 5:22-26 KJV
My Respond:
Philippians 2:13 AMPC
[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
My interpetation: God is effectually working in you as a evangelist and delight setting you free from sin.
Q: "The breath of God made man a living soul and what does the Spirit of Christ signify for a believer?"
A: We shall consider the context first. "In the vision of John we read of the Lamb and we are examining him as existing in the divine Will. "And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."(Re.5:6) How the world unseen shall be made to appear is what we shall see as the result of breaking open the seven seals. Compare with Prophet Zachariah whose vision is further in time and the apostasy of the nation of Israel has become established. Instead of the Lamb it is a stone we are looking at." behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch./For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes." The seven horns indicate the Law of the Spirit and the seven eyes have set the entire earth under his watch.
God in making Adam is making every believer a living soul. Adam is created 'after our image" as well as "after our likeness" By the latter it is established the last Adam is after the likeness of the Word made flesh. First Adam is earthy while Jesus Christ is the Lord from heaven. Fall of the first Adam brought death upon the world,"and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." It is to which Jesus alluded in his colloquy with Nicodemus. He to be born again. He used the analogy of wind. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth."( John 3:8). In order to make the Spirit of Christ as personal faith is crucial. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."(Ro.10:9-10). Without abiding in Christ the wind is no man's land.Ro.8:9-10
We read the same associated with the wrath of the Lamb mentioned in the Isaiah ch.2. "And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day./For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low" and "And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth."(2:11-19) The reference is to the people of Israel in distress,"then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits."(1 Sa.13:6). For those who trust in the covenant and abide in him he is the rock of salvation. (Ps.118:21-23)
Thanks again brother Jesse for those interesting & useful comments. Indeed, as we read any Scripture, it would be such a great thing if we could truly understand the working of the Jewish or Greek mind when references such as to the wind & spirit (as you mentioned) are given. Those of us who don't have those languages nor the cultures that go along with them, can quite easily miss out on the finer points of the message (such as Jesus talking with Nicodemus or the extraordinary things occurring at Pentecost) & just gloss over them or apply our own interpretation. Though having said that, I'm sure the Lord understands how His Word would be read decades and centuries after the events, & forgives us our ignorance of such things, yet expects that the application of the Truths contained in His Word are clearly understood by the help of His Spirit & adhered to. Many thanks again & blessings brother.
Q:How does the everlasting covenant between God and his Son become a decree for a believer?
A:God established man in terms of the Law of the Spirit by breathing into his nostrils. He became a living soul. St Paul calls it "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart."(2 Co.3:3) Adam represented all as his sin affected by the same token all man. God established the Law of the Spirit as he set the stone in Zion (Is.28:16 to symbolize the Spirit of Christ. Zion and Jerusalem are consequently spoken with reference to the heavenly places which shall be same in the last days as was founded before the foundation of the world. "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it."(Is.2:2)
The Advent of his Son is foretold by Prophet Zechariah here, "for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch." The stone mentioned refers to him. " For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes." (Ze.3: 8-9). Joshua (the Hebrew variant name for Jesus) signifies the OldTestament of the stone tables while the Law of the Spirit has already established on Zion from which the Law was to go forth. Coming back to the Isaiah quote 'that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills.' one is as far apart as the throne is from the footstool. (Is.66:1). The hills are what the earthly Jerusalem represent. In this context when the Lamb brakes open the sixth seal we have the people cry, "And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb."(Re.6:16)
I will pray for you. What an awful and hurtful this rape was for you. May you find healing. Being forgiving towards the one who assaulted you is a good thing. Being able to forget it does not always happen in this life, but it can come to that for some. I don't think that forgetting it happened is necessary. I am glad you shared this request. There are many here who will pray for you.
I believe your application of the Greek word HOSEI used in Both Acts 2:3 and Matthew 3:16 is correct. There was a point early on in my walk with the Lord where I used to envision a pure white dove descending from heaven upon Jesus at His baptism. It seems so easy to miss some of those little catch phrases in our study of the word.
In Acts 2:3, it's interesting because they could see an appearance of these languages dividing up and it sat upon each one of them. What they actually saw I'm not sure, but I can't help but wonder why it would happen like this for them.
I also find it interesting that both fire and wind to a Jewish person represents the very Spirit and presence of God. We see the wind in Acts 2:2. As you're probably aware, the word wind and the word Spirit, both in Hebrew and in Greek is the same word.
I look back at John Chapter 3, where Jesus told Nicodemus that he needed to be born from above (experience a spiritual birth from heaven). And in John 3:8, Jesus says that it's like the wind, you don't know where it's coming from or where it's going to go afterwards.
It seems to me that He's interchanging wind with spirit, and the sound of the wind was to a Jewish person, the coming of the Holy Spirit. So, in Acts Chapter 2, here are Jewish people, in the upper room, they hear the sound of wind, and they have seen languages sitting upon each one of them (as of) fire sitting upon each one of them. Fascinating!
Try 2 Timothy 3:2-7.
God bless
19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
Praise GOD for HIS promises! Help me LORD, to fulfill my promises and glorify YOU.
FATHER, we ask for YOUR peace be upon Jerusalem and especially for the many who need to trust in the LORD JESUS CHRIST as their SAVIOR.
October 4, 2024 Friday!
Acts 3:2 - And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
Acts 2:44 - And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
He has by death resurrection fulfilled the Law.
I left Nashville yesterday and went to Clarksville, now I'm on my way to Cordova and then Memphis.
Praise the LORD GOD from whom all blessings flow!
May we be faithful to our SAVIOR and glorify HIM in all things as we pray for the peace in Jerusalem.
Titus 2:11-14
October 3, 2024 Thursday
I am glad you shared this request. There are many here who will pray for you.
Glad to hear that you are o.k. after the hurricane. I hope all is going well with you. I keep you in my prayers as I do others from this site.
What do you think?
Blessings to you also!
