I don't think you totally understand the Kingdom of God.
You don't exist; you DIED on the cross, Christ ONLY arose.
Galatians 2:20 I am (was) CRUCIFIED with Christ, nevertheless I LIVE, YET NO I, but CHRIST IN ME ..... the NEW CREATION .....
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the DEATH of his saints (SEED).
Abraham was PROMISED a SEED, only ONE SEED, the promised SEED ---- CHRIST ----
CHRIST, the promised SEED AROSE, all creation were joint heirs of that resurrection, making them the SEED of Christ.
There is ONLY ONE SEED
Isaiah 59:21 .... this is my covenant with them (Christ's SEED) , My Spirit that is upon thee (Christ), and the words that are in thy (Christ's) mouth, shall not depart out of thy (Christ's) mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy (Christ's) SEED, nor out of the mouth of thy (Christ's) SEED'S SEED, from henceforth and forever
What you are saying is not what the Bible teaches.
Mankind was created with both a BODY and a SOUL. Our Body is flesh and bones and blood. Our Soul is the spirit essence that dwells within our physical body. Animals do not have a Soul; they have the breath of life as does mankind, but they do not have a Soul, only mankind does. While our Our Body and our Soul are very distinct elements, they combine to make up who we are as a complete personality while we are still living in our Body.
Adam and Eve were created with a Body and a Soul and in the "Image" of God. They were created sinless but with the capacity to sin, that is to disobey God. They were created with eternal life, but that life was CONDITIONAL. Had they not disobeyed God, they would be alive today, both in Body and Soul. But they DID DISOBEY God; and at that moment they DIED SPIRITUALLY. And they were then guilty of breaking the Law of God and became subject to the penalty for breaking the Law; and that penalty is Eternal Death.
So from the moment of their sin, Adam and Eve were judged by the Law of God, found Guilty and sentenced to Eternal Death both in Body and Soul. Furthermore, because every Human Being was in the loins of Adam, we are infected by sin from the moment of our conception and birth; WE ARE BORN SPIRITUALLY DEAD BOTH IN BODY AND SOUL; and subject to the Law of God and under the penalty of that Law not only because of our condition at birth but for every sin that we would ever commit while we are living. So therefore there is no Hope for mankind unless we can find a way to satisfy the Law of God and come out at the other end. And of course mankind cannot do this since the sentence for breaking the Law is Eternal Death in Body and Soul.
But God in His Mercy and at an incomprehensible price to Himself, paid the full penalty demanded by the Law for those dirty rotten sinners whom He chose to save. And He did this to show His Glory, His Justice and His Mercy.
What does it mean to be born again? Good question ....As Peter says being bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the word of God that liveth and abideth for ever.....meaning by the living word which is spirit.....My Words are spirit and life....The Woman in Rev.12 :5 is the best example of being bornagain....And she is giving birth to a baby Christ thats y Jesus said unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in....Plz note Rev.12:10....No Kingdom or any kind of Salvation comes till the woman gives birth to the Child which is the H.G. the Child of Promise.....Jesus plainly tells us That Which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. that is born in us via his spirit his living word.....Thats y he has to know us....So that his good seed might be sown in our hearts and minds producting a baby Christ.....The wheat is a baby Christ simply b/c the sower of that good seed is Christ the bridegroom.....Even in the natural a BIRTH IS ALWAYS INDICATIVE OF A CHILD.....As we have borne the image of the earthy our 1 st birth we must also birth the image of the Heavenly a spiritul Child the H.G. that Child of Promise.....Thats y Jesus always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN.....Mankind needs to birth a baby Christ in our hearts and minds....That New CREATURE.....Our new hearts n new spirits
Gal. 4 :19....My lil Children of whom i travail in birth till Christ is formed in you.....Nothin availeth any thing in Christ Jesus but a New Creature which is the H.G. that Child of Promise....Thats y the woman is giving birth to the baby the manchild that is gona rule all nations.....Which is that spirit of truth that is gona reprove this world of sin and righteousness and Judgement....But this baby Spirit has to be born in us via his good seed the living word....Thats y he is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. that Child of Promise....But he is just an infant that cannot speak of himself..GB
Nope Jesus was God the son soon as he was born..... Hebrews 1:6 When he bringeth the 1 st begotten son into the world he instructs all the angels to worship him....And unto the son he says thy throne O God is forever and ever.....God can be born via his seed the living word.....God wd be breaking the 1st Commandment if he instructs all the angels to worship his son if he were not God the Son.
......Levticus 14:4 kjv....But Jesus had to fulfill the law of Moses as to the washing of 2 turtle doves by running water....Turtle Doves are lovers like Christ and the Church.....But 1 of the Doves had to be killed and his blood sprinkled on the living bird.....Jesus was our sacrificial Dove that had to be washed by running water the Jordan....Johns water baptism....Thats y the Dove descended on Jesus marking him as our Sacrificial Dove. The H.G. was showing us he is our sacrificial Dove that wd have to be washed by running water.. Johns water baptism in the Jordan ....and Killed and his blood sprinkled on the living bird the Church.
......In Song of Solomon 1:15... The 2 lovers are Christ and the Church.....And they refer to each other as having DOVES EYES...
Husbands love your wives as Christ Loved the Church and gave his life for us.....Jesus was our sacrificial Dove that gave his life for us....Simply b/c he had to fulfill the law of Moses....I come not to abolish the law but to fulfill the law of Moses...Mat.5:17 kjv
......Thus he had to be our sacrificial Dove....Thats the only reason he was water baptised.....It was not for sin as Jesus had no sin.....But he had to fulfill the law of Moses of the washing of 2 turtle doves by running water....The Jordan was running water and John was of the tribe of Levi he cd legally do this washing.....Thats y the Dove descended on Jesus as the H.G. was trying to tells us he is our sacrificial Dove....That wd have to die and his blood wd have to be sprinkled on the living bird the Church....Then the living bird was set free...
Yes RyanL, it would be wrong to do so, because your first responsibility is to your employer or to your clients if you're self-employed. But if you can arrange to have Saturday off for some relaxation (and this is very important also) without affecting someone else's expectation of you, then use that time to relax, recuperate, even get into God's Word for some spiritual nourishment.
Dear all, may my words bring you healing and comfort. Because it is never profitable to calculate times and times that are subject to God Himself. The perception and composition of the Bible, that's what makes us disagree, not the views themselves. David0921 takes a spiritual view of this matter. So do I. The letter itself kills. When we picture God's kingdom today, we see that the Holy Spirit is everywhere, in u and me, who belive in Jesus Christ. Yes, we are tempted to say that it is a complete work. IF it weren't for Jesus saying: A lot of stuff. When He Lived, He Died and Rose Again on the 3rd Day, right? So in those words, He has fulfilled what you are talking about.
When I came to faith, I saw the abomination standing on the temple mount today! Oh, I've never felt or feel associated with the prophet Daniel. And those who turn to the Prophets today to talk about the end times must be confused. I will be. It is the evil self who causes confusion. So we cast all confusing thoughts, into the deepest darkness, where they can stay and never return in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.
Second Peter 3:10. BUT another point of view comes here: When Jesus had to give up His Spirit, the curtain tore and the dead rose from their tombs in Jerusalem. So in a way, this has happened as well. A good question becomes, why didn't the Apostles see this? Perhaps because they had divided opinions. The main thing is dear friends that we stick to the word, and it is good if we look upward as Paul said we should do. 1 Corintihans 14 (Speak More Prophetically so everyone can be edified). Luke 1 chapter, love u all in Christ, stay strong in the word of God, it will live forever and ever.
Reading Genesis 1:27, in my understanding what matters and prevails is the mystery of creation of man. But how? By the way, First of all, GOD is Spirit; GOD is the Word, self-executing. But how is the image of the Spirit of GOD? GOD alone -the Word is GOD- couldn't create man, He first needed to create an IMAGE of His Person - JESUS - , as is written in Hebrews 1:1-3 and 8.
By the way, man crreated by GOD is without sin, thus the conclusion about the corrupt generations the creator is another, an usurper, a lost one who grafted his evil seed into the one GOD had created - 1John 3:10-12. Terrible, very terrible.
20 Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our VILE body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.
That is what the Word of GOD says - Leviticus 17:11&14.
The soul is the own existence, it is the life, and the life(soul) of the body is the blood, so the blood is the soul.
Paul Apostle in his epistle to the Church of Corinthians, said: 1 Corinthians 15:50KJV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood(soul/life of the body) cannot inherit the kingdom of GOD; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
No Mr. Landry. There was no contradiction. I was making a distinction between the soul of someone who had become "saved", Born Again. And someone who had not been "saved". The eternal condition of the soul is very different in the two cases.
Also, I have not seen a response from you regarding the very specific questions regarding your beliefs that I posed to you. Perhaps you could share that.
Hi Halfpint13. I'm sorry that I can't give you specific help with your question, as I'm neither a Jew nor literate in Hebrew. But if I could direct you to My Jewish Learning, and at the Search box at the top right of the main page, type in Conventions of Biblical Poetry. This is an interesting study on this subject, even as the three main poetic Bible books of the Psalms, Lamentations, & Song of Songs reveal. What one would read in the Hebrew could not be replicated in English (even the KJV), unless one alters the wording to give texts its poetic form. As you noted, some Bible versions do make an attempt to present such writing & thus enabling to be used in speech.
I know your question was to Brother Ronald, but I also believe the soul is mortal, the soul is just your body.
You also contradicted yourself in your comment.
You ask Brother Ronald how he could believe your soul IS NOT immortal.
Yet latter in your comment you said: I certainly agree if someone dies unsaved, both their body and soul die and they cease to have conscience existence.
IMMORTALITY cannot DIE.
Ezekiel 18:4 ... the soul that sinneth, IT (the soul) SHALL DIE ....
I remain puzzled as to your belief that the soul of a true believer is not immortal, i.e. has everlasting life.
2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at HOME IN THE BODY we are ABSENT FROM THE LORD:
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be ABSENT FROM THE BODY and to be PRESENT WITH THE LORD.
So, if when the body of a true believer goes into the grave when they die, how do you understand 2 Corinthians 5:8? What does it mean to be "absent from the body and present with the Lord". Is God lying to us here?
And then, what does it mean to be Born Again? In what part of our existence are we Born Again? Certainly not in our body until the last day when we receive our resurrected spiritual body.
Then we have the passages that talk about Christ bringing all of the believers with him when he returns at the last day.
I do certainly agree that if someone dies unsaved, both their body and soul die and they cease to have conscious existence. But we are talking here about true believers that have been BORN AGAIN. So what happens to their soul both at the time that God "saves" them, and when they die physically.
I'm sorry to say, Ronald, that we seem to have a very different understanding of what it means to be "saved". And I am unaware of the scriptures that would teach your understanding.
And I think that is not an incidental and unimportant difference in any sense.
May God lead us into truth as we Compare scripture with scripture.
This is a question instead of a comment. I need some help. How do you tell what is hebrew poetry? For example I know that Genesis 1:27 is poetry because it was used in a example in a study I was doing. Other versions change the line breaks when a section is poetry. How do I tell in the kjv?
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. To well do I recall this same despair. I was raised in legalism, much like the Mosaic law Peter speaks of in Acts 15. This form is not large enough that I am able to share how God has carried me even though I neglected Him.The problem with this world is in fact the deception of Satan. He is a higher being than we, if it were not for the fact that the Living God tabernacles inside of me, I would have been devoured by the enemy. When I was a child, often I'd hear how the enemy sat on the front pew in church. I now realize the enemy has graduated himself to the pulpit. he has done this by teaching a different Jesus, manipulating the true word of God and many avenues to deceive humanity. The Lord precisely tells us not to make graven images, to worship Him only. My friend, it sounds like you have not been introduced to the true Saviour Jesus Christ. It is not by works, confessing to man our sin or any other means that we are redeemed. Jesus Christ is the only Way. As certain as I type this small message, I am witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Realize, He is a HOLY GOD and no flesh shall boast in His presence. Jesus Christ took on flesh in order to atone for the curse upon all humanity. There is no good in any human being, no matter our works, we can not be saved by anyone or anything but through belief that Jesus Christ poured out His life, set the captives free, (no such thing as purgatory), rose bodily from death (being the first fruits), preached among us, ascended to the Father and sent the Holy Ghost, whereby we are sealed unto that day. One has to realize their sin and one day they will face a Holy God. Will God see a person innocent without having true repentance of their sins and giving themselves completely to Christ? No, He will not. There is absolutely no reason we have to suffer eternal torment. Realize sin, truly repent, accept Jesus Christ.I pray 4U
The questions I posted and the scripture after them were in my understanding were answering the questions, sorry if that did not make sense or if they do not answer them for you.
Was Jesus baptized with the Spirit during His water baptism or before? It was not before it was after Jesus was water baptized and come up from the water He was then anointed with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:1 Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit led, meaning to lead, bring, carry so the Spirit led or carried Jesus to the wilderness. It may be similar to when Philip was whisk away, Acts 8:39
John 3:34 "for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him" Measure means limited so Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit with no limits like what we see in 1 Cor. 12 the diversities of gifts no one received them all, with Jesus there was no limit to the power of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:32-33 My understanding is this part of Peter's explanation of what people were seeing. Jesus made the promise that when He went back to the Father He would ask the Father to send the Holy Ghost/Spirit to them, Luke 24:49John 14:26Acts 1:4-8. They were seeing God's answer to Jesus's request to send the Holy Ghost/Spirit. I hope that makes sense.
The Father could not send the Holy Ghost/Spirit until Jesus was glorified John 7:39 and that was after He was resurrected, Jesus did not need the Holy Ghost/Spirit after He received His glorified body. When the Holy Ghost/Spirit left Jesus and went back to God in heaven if it was at Jesus's death or when, I do not know.
I hope this all made sense thank you for your reply.
I'm the same as you in that respect Ronald , I don't even know what most of the labels , that some Christians use , actually mean and I have no desire to . We are members of his body , brothers and sisters . I have no idea what label anyone would put on me and I don't put any on myself other than Christian . When someone puts a label on themselves and then they might look at me and smile , as if I should know what all their beliefs are by the label they put on themselves , I just smile and say nothing :) . To me , your a Christian or you're not , that's all I need to know .
Beyond our comprehension! Being frustrated because there exists no earthly language able to express the glory and praise which He deserves, I asked Him to show me how to worship Him. Submitting to Him in devotion and prayer, time held no worth, for to escape this world and revel in the presence of the Lover of my soul is beyond comprehension. The weight of His glory, the rest of our souls, our daily bread, His beauty visible only through communion with Him, but more than visible for this, His, great Love dwells in the very core of our being. Come quickly Lord Jesus for my heart will surely fail in longing for You.
I don't think you totally understand the Kingdom of God.

To be cont.
... "for the soul of any flesh is its blood" ...
In my understanding, the Word of GOD never contradicts itself, agree?
Is the soul spirit or flesh?
If it's flesh it's not immortal.
If it's Spirit it does need to be saved, Spirit is God, God is the ONLY one that has IMMORALITY.
Spirit CANNOT sin.
Flesh can sin.
Ezekiel 18:4 ... the soul (flesh) that sinneth, it shall die .....
1 Timothy 6:16 Christ ONLY has immortality ......
So how do you have IMMORALITY when the word says Christ ONLY has IMMORALITY.
Your SOUL DIE with Christ on the cross, ONLY Christ AROSE.

You will know those who have been given power from heaven, by their fruits!
These are the chosen, the few, the ones who will lay their lives down for the brotherhood, for the church, protecting these , the little children.
Soon you shall see the collection of the saints , as they guide Christ down the path unto Him that has called Him!
Fearless as they come, wanting to please their Lord.
Christ comes with the full authority of His Father! Watch as He heals from afar! Repent and be Baptized

Amen to the fact that we're either a child of God or not.
And if we're a child of God, confirmed by the Spirit, we're Brothers.
I've learned a lot from our discussion, as always.
Iron sharpens Iron and sometimes that's a rough display.
It's good to know ones point of view and how they arrived there. We should always examine that.
Sometimes we take what has been past down to us but yet don't understand.
God bless you Brother.
I remain puzzled as to your belief that the soul of a true believer is not immortal, i.e. has everlasting life.

Glad your cat is doing better
I did understand your post, but I just wanted to point out the verses in Acts 2:32-33 which seem to say something different. Thanks for your reply.
My understanding
The questions I posted and the scripture after them were in my understanding were answering the questions, sorry if that did not make sense or if they do not answer them for you.
Was Jesus baptized with the Spirit during His water baptism or before? It was not before it was after Jesus was water baptized and come up from the water He was then anointed with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:1 Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit led, meaning to lead, bring, carry so the Spirit led or carried Jesus to the wilderness. It may be similar to when Philip was whisk away, Acts 8:39

Acts 2:32-33 My understanding is this part of Peter's explanation of what people were seeing. Jesus made the promise that when He went back to the Father He would ask the Father to send the Holy Ghost/Spirit to them, Luke 24:49 John 14:26 Acts 1:4-8.
God bless,
