Bible Questions & Discussion PAGE 102

    Hi Giannis,

No worries, I was in no rush. I was just hoping you might have been exposed to some of those diagrams. I have several of them in my Greek study materials. I wish I were able to post one so you could see what I was talking about but there is no way to do so here.

Thanks for sharing that information on the KJB translators. It does seem sort of odd to have no one of Greek nationality in the list of translators. What was King James' motivation in giving the English-speaking people a new bible? Perhaps it might have been political. I have read that he relied heavily on the Bishop's Bible as a base text, but wanted the KJB to be without the study notes that were in the margins of the Bishop's Bible because he felt that some of those notes challenged his authority. So, it could have been somewhat political. After reading through what the KJB translators had to say, it seems to me as though the KJB was more of a revision of those previous English bibles, not that they intended it to be the only pure English Bible to be trusted throughout the ages.

And yes, I think a discussion on what "God inspired" means would be a good discussion. As you are aware, the phrase "God inspired" is only one word in the Greek that has significant meaning.

    Blessings to you also!

    GiGi,

I also stand with you in prayer for President Biden. We are to pray for our leaders, even those whose policies we may not agree with. And yes, I also think that applying 2 Thessalonians 2:11 towards you is very degrading. It is a complete misapplication of that piece of scripture.

If we look at the verse right before this ( 2 Thessalonians 2:10), this shows that Verse 11 cannot and should not be applied to a true believer such as yourself. It says, "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."

So, in power, in signs, and lying wonder, and in all deceivableness of unrighteousness in (them that perish); In the Greek, this is a participle, which means those who are perishing, that is, those who have rejected Christ, they are the ones who will be deceived. They are the ones being spoken of in Verse 11. No way can this be applied to any true believer.

I want to share with you this one very important phrase:

"Because they received not the love of the truth,"

God gives people the love for the truth. If a person doesn't have the love for truth, they will not pursue it. When God gives you a passion, a drive, you will pursue it. You see, they didn't reject the truth, they rejected the love of the truth. They didn't want it. They were not interested so that they might be saved. So, they rejected it. They rejected the possibility of being saved.

It is a shame for anyone to apply 2 Thessalonians 2:11 toward another believer. Keep doing what you're doing, and may the Lord continue to bless you in every way!

I believe you're correct, most modern Bible translations would opt for the neuter gender, such as "My soul shall make ITS boast in the LORD", as it would align more accurately with those reading the Bible today.

As far as Acts 12:4, the accurate word from the Greek is 'pascha', or 'passover', and this word Young's Literal Translation uses. I don't know why the KJB translators opted for Easter. My sense is that since they were quite high ranked in the C of E, 'Easter' would be a more acceptable & appreciated replacement by the masses instead of using 'pascha'. May the Lord bless you in the study of His precious Word.

    Dear Bennymkje,

It seems that you think that you know who knows God's will and who does not. I think that is a wrong attitude to have concerning what is happening in our world. Only God truly knows what will come about. We do need to study Scripture to discover how we are to prepare ourselves for the events that will occur at the end of times. Anyway, I think it is best to end this conversation because it seems to me to be degrading towards me. I think it is wise to pray for those who are in positions to lead others. That is a biblical thing to do obedience and that was my aim in beginning this thread. I did not and still do not wish to make it politically charged as you are doing here. So I'll simply not respond to you again on this thread.

Jaz, I agree that we cannot put our trust in a human because God is the only Savior and Sovereign we are to serve and worship. Yet we are told in Scripture to pray for those who are put over us in government. 1Tim 2:1-6 and this we should desire to do for it is for our good that God asks us to be prayerful in this way.

It was also put on my heart to pray for President Biden this week, too, but I sensed the need to wait until today. Now I can post a prayer for him, too. Now I know why.

I hope that there will be those here who will agree with me in prayer for President Biden today.

Dear Heavenly Father who chose me, Blessed Jesus who redeemed, Holy Spirit who leads me, today, We bring before You, God, President Biden asking You to bless him with spiritual awakening and a turning from wrong beliefs about You to the truth. We ask You to be made new in his inner man, causing him to choose You and your ways for the rest of his days. We pray that You will protect him from evil people who wish to use him for their purposes, but instead we ask You to use him for Your purposes.

We ask that President Biden will have a deep desire to learn from Your Holy Word and that his heart will be softened to the work of the Holy Spirit within him. We pray that Joe and Jill Biden will together make the best decisions in the days and months ahead that are not based on the forces of politics but based on what Your word says is right and just. Guide both in the way You would wish them to go, walking by the Spirit and not by the ways of the world.

We ask that people in President Biden's sphere will give him good counsel and direct him in ways that improve his leading of our country. Bless President Biden and his whole family with faith and wisdom that comes from Your grace and only glory to You. Give President Biden a passion to bring glory to You and to proclaim Your greatness to the world.

We ask these things of You, God, for President Biden, today. Amen.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I see what you mean, a word here and there won't change my mind that the Kjv is the most faithful. I wonder had it been translated today if that one would be different! Perhaps given the days we live in.

Same for Easter, had they been translating today and seeing what goes on it too may have been different.

    Thanks again.

Yes , you quoted one of my favourite scriptures . All flesh is grass and none of us should think anything of ourselves , the worship of humans and the belief that any human can save this world or a particular country or even their own selves , is idolatry . I have one king and shepherd . Only he can save me and you and any and everyone else . Revelation chapter 22 verse 20 . God bless you .

    Gigi,

My last line answers your comment. We are living in the end times and may this verse shall help you understand what you are up against and by not understanding the will of God may be you are also part of the problem. " And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." Prayerfully ask God know and understand what is His Will for you.

    Dear Bennymkje,

I know you live outside of the U.S.A. and are free to have your own opinion of Trump just as much as anyone else. Let's just leave Trump in God's hands and will, exhibit charity towards Trump and faith in what God can and will do.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 7 months ago
    Dear Jaz,

I did not want to make this prayer political in any way, so I will just respond that I do know a lot about Trump and his past. But I know God much better and affirm that nothing is impossible for God, so I have much hope for Trump being transformed, even after 78 years. I prayed as God led me to pray for him. I have obeyed the lead of the holy Spirit. All is in God's hands.

    Hello Jesse

Firstly sorry for my delayed answer.

No I don't know anything about grk word association diagrams. After reading your post I had a look on the net about them and found out that they'are about grammar and word syntax. Well I may have a more detailed look at them later, but not now since I am a bit busy for the time being.

Now if you don't mind I would like to say something about the KJB translation that makes me thinking about it. There is not a single greek scholar in the group of people that made that translation and to me this sounds a bit strange. Example, if I ever wanted to make a translation say of the OT I would primarily approach Hebrew people. But there is not a single greek name in those translators of the KJB. During that time there were very many of them in Europe. Especially after the fall of Constantinople to the Turks in 1453 AD. Almost all of them fleeded Greece going West. And their descendants flourished in Europe. Were there political reasons that king James didn't invite even a single one of them? Maybe religious reasons, since grks were from the Eastern Orthodox region of Christianity whereas the English were protestants? I don't know really, but it makes me a bit cautious.

And something else. Maybe sometime later on we should start a discussion about what it means "God inspired", because I think many people got it completely wrong. Anyway we will talk about it later on .GBU

Ge.8:6-8 "The Raven and the Dove"

Forty days (4x10) concerns with man who is entrusted with the Word of God. In the case of Moses, it was to confirm the covenant as with Abraham before him to bless the nation that had the Law. He was called up the mount on the seventh day "and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights."(Ex.24:16-18) The same everlasting covenant and we have Abraham's faith and Moses was to instruct the nation of Israel to make the word of God to their profit. We see forty days in the case of the risen Christ. The same that covered the glory that "abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud,"is Person specific. What occurred on the mount of transfiguration has the mount as an emblem, and Moses Elias representing the cloud of witnesses. (Matt.17:1-6). The disciples were witness to this glorious body of Christ. Once again as with Moses this occurring before Ascension has to do with the kingdom of God. "being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God" Jesus Christ was equipping them for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (Ac.1:2-3)

"And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made."(v.6)

The window of the ark represents heart in line of vision with the shadow of the Almighty. (Ps.91:1). Raven is considered 'unclean' and it represent our body of flesh and blood. Being included in the Ark, they are sanctified to serve the Lord God which we see in the story of ravens feeding Prophet Elijah. "And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro." The dove represents the world of the Spirit. "Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;" We have a series of sevens which marks fulness of time. 'The olive leaf pluckt off' refers to' evening' and the end times. v.11

I worded my comment poorly. It should read thus:

To have a fool run the nation and Trump showed his mettle during the pandemic. It is more of a shame that he did not use the four years for solving the problems the nation was facing. If he did not make America great who but a fool will think he who is himself 77+ shall do if he is given another four years? Retribution is what he promised. His Project 25 is an ace up his sleeve. I believe God wants to teach America a lesson not to think more than what God has blessed them with but the politics of lies has blown it all away. "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" The problem that the nation began with, still divides the country. Trump only did well for himself by the court-room packing and they are there to give him a crown as well, if they could. Thank God He is in control.

Ge.6:18-19 "To keep them alive with thee"

"But with thee will I establish my covenant."(v.18) refers to the everlasting covenant and Noah serves as the double for the man in the Man component. The Spirit gives us two ages before and after the flood. One refers to him after the likeness of his Son and the other after the likeness of the last Adam. As the tabernacle of God shall descend from heaven to the mid-air Noah and 'every living thing of all flesh" representing the stewardship stipulated in Ge.1:28 shall brought into the earth purged of corruption. They have been kept alive in the world of the Spirit, that the volume of the Ark signifies. As with the daughters of Job they have been kept alive all along in presence of God. It is called the land of the living of which the ark of Noah is an emblem.

Of the second age of Noah "And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died." (9:29) he chooses his profession, "And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard./And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent." (9:20-21; 3:23). His life after his fall begins with his physical world and it is set forth in this line, "to till the ground from whence he was taken." His own shame is recalled in Noah who lay uncovered in his tent. In order to distinguish the life before and after, the Spirit sets the Ark as an emblem as there is a slain Lamb before the foundation of the world and the throne of God and of the Lamb.

All these life forms,- marine lives, fowls of the air and beasts of the field are as created of God do not suffer any diminution or loss in the kingdom of God. Hence this commandment of God, "Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee."

Have you considered , that perhaps Donald Trump is being used by God to fulfill His purposes , God knows all of our hearts and minds perfectly and He always chooses the right person for the right job . God has done this throughout history with other world leaders and with lots of ordinary folk too .

All things are as God wills , in the past , in the present and in the future , we are all being judged by His Word , which was in Christ Jesus and is in the Bible , which is where we read and learn of His Word and His will , His will for us as individuals , Christ says if ye love me , keep my commandments , which are : love God and love each other . Revelation chapter 22 verses 10 to 15 .

If you don't mind , I shall pray for the peace of Jerusalem . Thy Kingdom come , Thy will be done , on earth as it is in heaven . Through Christ Jesus our Sinless High Priest in heaven . Amen .

Maybe you don't know much about Donald Trump and the things that he has knowingly done in his life . He isn't a foolish young man who doesn't know any better . He is a highly privileged adult who knows that the Bible exists . If he wants to take the time and effort to get to know God , he himself has had over 70 years to do so . I can't see him repenting in sackcloth and ashes and giving away all his possessions to feed the starving any time soon . If he does , I shall eat my own feet and you can watch me do that . Good luck with your prayers for him .

Hi Roo. This can be confusing to us because in English the gender is applied to the speaker. Can't speak specifically for the Hebrew language, but if similar to some other languages, then the gender applied is not to the speaker but to the object (the thing spoken of/referred to). So you might be a male, but your 'soul' is a feminine word in Hebrew, therefore your soul "shall make HER boast in the LORD" and NOT HIS boast.

In a Hindi & Urdu, languages I'm little more familiar with, they have only two genders, so all nouns are either masculine or feminine (and there is no third (neuter) gender as in English). So, in those languages, if you tell someone, "My name is Roo", the word 'name' is masculine. If a woman says, "My name is Rachel", the word 'name' is still masculine so the sentence remains the same for both genders/speakers. I hope that clears it up a little.

    You are welcome Brother Jesse!

Those messages might move on up a few pages after today.

I plan to catch up on them today. I fall behind during the work week. They are very helpful in getting to the direct intent of the passage.

    Thanks again Brother.

Hi. I am confused as to the use of the feminine in reference to ones soul in the Psalm. If im a man and the writer was a man why does it say that.

"34 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad"

    Thanks.

Ge.6:13 "The end of all flesh"

"And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits." (6:15)

Here we have the volume in terms of cubits. Significant is that it is not given in multiples of 12 which is the Gospel of God as delineated in his humanity. It was to set a believer in heavenly places which shall continue till the end times. He is part of the city in the making to which he walks by faith and not by sight. "And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal."(Re.21:16)

On the other Noah's ark is an emblem for the end of flesh, sons of perdition to be precise. 300 Lx50 B What scale shall we use here? The same we find in the vision of Ezekiel, "a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth. (Ez.40:5) Another example we can cite, in the Book of Daniel. "Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits." This is abomination! The Ark of Noah was a warning to all who made flesh his arm. "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD."(Je.17:5)

"A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it." (6:16)

The Window on the roof signifies the blessings under the covenant come from above, The three stories tell us the ark is built "after our image" with soul spirit and body.

"And shalt pitch it within and without with pitch." is similar to "and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind." Total Sanctification is insisted upon.

Ge.6:13 "The end of all flesh" (1 of 2)

"And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth."

Everlasting covenant explains God's covenant with Man. "The holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, refers to the tabernacle of God among men. It is the culmination of all spiritual blessings any man may freely avail of,- and by faith he is a saint redeemed for the earth, and be found in the tabernacle. Without Jesus Christ the Word become flesh and without abiding in him no man shall succeed. Noah is the double for Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. "Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he."(6:22) In the covenant Noah fits the above assertion as he is created 'after our likeness' and he did as his Son fulfilled the will of his Father.

The Ark of Noah explains the end of all flesh to which it remains an emblem. We shall examine how it serves us for our spiritual instruction. "Wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."(1 Pe.3:20) The Spirit sets command number Eight to denote the lower parts, signifying the death of his Son enabled those souls in prison to heart the Gospel.(1 Pe.3:19) Water baptism is to signify the end of my flesh and its demands' and if I am dead from where does come Christian nationalism? Do not be fooled. For without this death no man shall enter the day Seven. "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."(Ge.2:3) God sanctified Noah because his faith was same as was in his Son. As all passengers in the ark were safe and secure abiding in Noah God was 'at rest' in a manner of speaking.

"And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits." (6:15)

    Postnote:

IF I were to go to the place I stayed it is an air band b where I could stay for only about 25 a day but a few days here and there I'd have to stay somewhere else. I did notary and filing at one of the places that split off from my main job but the place where I stayed for full time work from about 2015 until 2021 still was amenable to me returning when I checked about 6 months ago.

I'd have to have help more than once a week in that case which my mom could arrange. The main thing is next week when she has her general physician appt as well as her old chiropractor. If she misses both of these it will be 2 months since she has left the house. She has had some days when her breathing is ok; and I got an exercise gadget which is a pedal for the bottom of her legs she is starting to use. For now the agency would help my dad when they are here for my mom in some capacity although he gets one hour of free care; biggest issue is the basement explaining how to wash clothes.

My biggest concern is my mother being hydrated enough; she has to hold back with meals but she still doesn't drink enough in my opinion. She said warm water helped her to go to the toilet and I ask often if I can get some for her but have to let her make decisions. I can't basically make her go to an institution even though she gave verbal affirmation on the power of attorney which for some odd reason I never signed nor was it read to me years ago. The attorney said I could force a social worker but I should be wary of doing so.

I figure someone in the church I talked to in the last 2 years will find a place for me to live if it exists. Anyway I suppose this is a prayer request since it is public. I am a notary and have one person who uses me exclusively but not often; I am going to try n the next couple weeks to hand more out; and in theory could use anywhere in Pennsylvania. Right now I live in Montgomery County; guess I can be that specific here.

I'll try to be persistent in prayer for you.

My mom sadly didn't find who she thought that works on hiatal hearnias apparently the receptionist lied to try to get her into some program plan the office had the chiropractor himself asked where she heard that he did that. What a dissapoointment.

My mom is self administering what she can going between being very weak and eating what is a more normal amount such as today and finding it hard to breathe. I had to leave town the other week driving all the way to the state of Indiana over 12 hr drive all night and left a note explaining that they need more help. The process to at least get a home health care aide hopefully will work but the boss of the lady from the agency that came seemed to think my mom's policy didn't cover trips to stores just bathing care. The lady is going to check with the insurance company monday i am hoping this guy is off; the private person my mom met who she liked she tried to call again today with no response she supposedly had an emergency a couple weeks ago and never got back to her. Personally I think they both should be in a care facility at this point which this lady can help with too; my mom still has to file a claim if it works with the agency her insurance would cover enough for 5 hrs a week of help indefinitely.

My issue is my mothers unstable moods; crying and complaining then telling me she is stressed because I am stressed. I still have an escape plan where I would be out of town and come back occasionally to help if needed; if something comes up locally I pray it does with the church; either way not living here will cause my mom to be mad. I told her I wouldn't go with a note next time but living here peaceably under these conditions are at times unbearable. I also have my 45 day notice at my current job which means I may be out of work October.

I asked a friend in Pittsburgh if I could stay there on occasion as I could work at one of my former jobs that way.

    PRAYER OF TRUMP

    PT.2

Oh God, how wonderful is Your love for us sinners. Have mercy on President Trump and show him your will for his life. Draw him close to You and lead him in Your way. We ask that President Trump will come to abandon himself to You and seek You first and foremost for the remainder of his days on this earth. We ask that the Holy Spirit will do a might work in President Trump to transform his mind, will, and actions to be like Christ Jesus. Like Paul, the change was quickly evident because the work you had for him to do was so pressing, vital, and important. May President Trump's character change be evident quickly as the work You have for him to do is also pressing, vital, important, and also, his age makes the need to be transformed all the more necessary.

We do not know your plans for his remaining days. But we trust that You will inform him of the Your calling for him. If it is to be president once again, then let it be so, and empower him to be the best president for our country at this time in history. If it is not to be president, then give him peace in knowing that his life and times are allowed by Your authority and power. Inspire Donald Trump to desire to walk the life path You lay out for him and use him in mighty ways for the good of the U.S,A.

Father, thank you for leading me to bring this prayer forward. I always want to be sure it is Your will, not mine, to do so. Thank You for the working of the Holy Spirit in my heart to be obedient. May President Trump, U.S.A. and believers across our nation be blessed by You, abounding in mercy and grace, which we all need daily, and give us courage to stand in the gap for our families, communities, and nation, to the glory of God forever and ever, amen.
