    Dear T. Levis,

Thank you, these are very helpful. I've not read the book of Zephaniah. Malachi and Isaiah also. After studying Ezekiel I believe I can get through Isaiah, but that is a very strong book it will take a lot of concentration. Thank you for your comments they are well met.

Thank you, a brother through Yeshua HaMashiach,

    Doug

    1Thessalonians 4:17,

Please read: Daniel 7, Zephaniah 1:15, Zephaniah 1,

    * Matthew 24:29-30, "After the tribulation" Matthew 24:3-51, Matthew 24:21,22, Matthew 26:64, Mark 13:5-37, * note Mark 13:23-27, Mark 13:19 first, Mark 14:62, Revelation 1:5-8, these all seem to be the same event; 1Corinthians 15:52, context: 1Corinthians 15:20-58, Revelation 9, has the six prior trumpet blasts then Revelation 10, also lining up with prior noted scripture of the last trumpet: Revelation 10:7, & Revelation 10:6, Revelation 10:1, Matthew 25:31-46, seems to be the end, beginning of judgement. Psalms 9:7,

    2Timothy 4:3,

    2Timothy 2:3, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13,

    Hope this is helpful

I believe that Amos 8:11-13 describes the Rapture. Maybe I should say "after" the Rapture. Read 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The Antichrist decieves us by impersonating Christ.

Sin brings death! Spiritual death! Being in the body of Christ is where every believing Christian needs too be at all times. When we fail of course the Lord forgives. When spiritual death happens to us because of sin, it might only come for a minute, after prayer and seeking forgiveness the Holy Spirit we once again take its place and forgives us!

This is the 5 G of God. It is sharper than a two edged sword, dividing the good from the Bad. Satan cannot know these things, He does not have the power to look into the soul, He judges things from the outside! This saving faith , given through the holy spirit is yours, produces streaks of power that enlightens the world, even saving some, who , may learn the truth! The love of God in Christ! This is the will of God for us and man kind! Go and teach all nations in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

I think the Antichrist will try to fool people, that he has everybody's "best interests"

He'll pretend to represent everyone. He'll be keeping track of everything we read online, everything we type online, everything we order online (even food). Nothing is private anymore.

    Cookies are tracking everything.

Phone calls, texts, emails: no matter the time of day or night, are followed by TECH GIANTS. HiThey write the programs so they can do these things. Their only rewards are, they are ABLE to do these things. They do not care where all this is leading to.

Internet Devices can all be Tracked to where they are by GPS. Satellites in outer space can zoom into your location. There are so many satellites in earths atmosphere that they can barely launch space exploration vehicles anymore.

How do you think driverless cars are being driven? Our cars probably have barcodes all over the insides. They are flashing barcode images on our tv's so we can hold up our phones to the image; and it will transfer your money, to whatever you are buying.

If we think we are hiding our extreme porn habits, poking around into other peoples lives through internet, YOU ARE DECEiVED, already.

Even little children can do this; they all have their own cell phones!

There is no such thing as PRIVACY anymore. They can even monitor who is a Christian. That's why Jesus is COMING SOON for His Church! All over this globe we live on.

Global Warming is just a "keep them busy and focused on a LIE". After the Rapture, After the Tribulation, after JESUS completes ALL prophesy left to accomplish:

This Earth will be razed with fire and cleansed, down to the core (to destroy even the tunnels we digged).

Only Believing, Born Again believers, will see the new heavens and New Earth. If that is what you desire_you need to believe God's Word_get yourself in Jesus Christ__and hang on tight. There's no more time to "waffle around" with believing you can outsmart the Antichrist, or God.

Facebook is now not allowing Christian content to play on their site. Even virtual church is now being censored..this verse came to mind today as I saw that many Christian and Jewish videos will no longer play ..

    Jeremiah 10:21

For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

    Answers in the Bible

In this chapter we see Amos bringing the Word of God but the people had no appetite for it because of their apathy. In making application we see that we have the Word of God in our hands today, the Bible, yet we look for answers everywhere else except in its pages which contain all the answers to our lives. How about you? Do you see the Word of God for the answers in your life. Let us learn from our text today and the direction of Amos to see that the Bible holds all the answers to the questions we have in how to live our lives.

The scripture Amos 8: 11 is surely prophetic, for in these times with the almost complete shutdown of houses of worship , fellowship among believers is essentially virtual and not in person. Hearing God's word has always been -by way of the ' spoken word'. Now for the near or foreseeable future , God's word may or will be by reading -for those who possess a Bible , or online ,or previous recorded sermons... but for most , it will be virtual , for the live spoken word cannot be duplicated. Who thought that it happen this way . The houses of worship have been shut by this pestilence - which in a strange way ....fulfills the Prophecy of Amos.

Lets reason it out. Your post is the last post here and it is 2months old. I would say , yes, there is a famine in the land of hearing and speaking the word.

Jesus is the Christ. He fulfilled all Prophecies of Leviticus 23 in his physical presence here on Earth. This year Christmas and Hanukkah are of the same timing and are of a substitute of the Feast of Tabernacles. Makes one ponder Amos 8:10. May we all dwell in Christ this season. John 17

We have come to the 21st century and prophetically we are living during this time of the "Church" lacking the Word of God, No prayer in the schools, Ten Commandments taking out of the courthouses! Sugar coating God's Word, compromising God's Word, calling evil good and good Evil! Our families are famished for truth and the WORD of God, they are seeking entertainment everywhere, but the Holy Spirit

"And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more." Every year passes more and more quickly; like getting used to going the same route every day for a long time, the time and the scenery becomes over-familiar. But do we realize that the time of fruit is passed?
  • A disciple on Amos 8 - 7 years ago
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD...they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it." This people that refuse instruction shall have no knowledge from God. While they grope as blind at noon day, they shall stumble and fall and be snared!
  • A disciple on Amos 8 - 7 years ago
Sir William; "And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more." Seeing how God views us in these terms, helps us base our faith in being grounded in truth and reality. When the season ends and the fruits are all come in, the fields are plowed under till next year.

most of what we hear today is getting wealth and riches what do you or me want to see in heaven all of our gold or Jesus if its gold we will not make it because we will not be flesh and blood but be like Him the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof .

The drought or famine for truth in the Word of God is here. People are searching for something between living worldly and Godly. The Word of God forbids and demands that you choose. By default, you likewise choose by your choices in life. You can 't deceive God. You can 't deceive Christ. They read the heart and mind. Nothing escapes them.

Verse 9, literally the sun going down at noon would be relative to ones position on the earth as when the sun goes down on one side of the earth it is rising on the other side. For the sun to represent the light of righteousness and peace that should have run its full course will be stopped midway by war and darkness is parabolic in meaning but may be the intended message as that applies to the entire earth at once. Verse 10 may be a declaration of a world war.

I think of the dark ages when I think of a famine of the word. I think another famine of the word is coming, but hasn 't come yet. When the Bible and preaching the gospel is forbidden worldwide, that will be the famine of the word.

The very fact that these days we live in Corruption has gone sky high not only in The Government, but also in church. And the LORD said that those who knew the TRUTH when they pulled out, becomes prey For the corruption of the church. But when the LORD returns, is there really anyone to save? Something to think about. Amos 8:7 Everyone is striving instead of Praying and asking for His extended mercies. And the ones trying to help out His people Jerusalem and Judea are not bringing them back but dividing them! Acts 2:34-39. Exodus 4:8 Rev 2:14 Isaiah 29:13,15,16,18, 22-24 Isaiah 31:1-3,4-7.

The Famine is already here in churches theres no word anymore you go thirsty you come like that we up and down trying to find the word we grew up with but is no where to be found may He help us in times like these

I think the famine is here. When I compare the ministered word I heard when I was a boy and the respect I saw then compared to the watered down sermons and lack of reverence now, I see the famine of the Holy Spirit and his grace. I can always get a sense of how it was before the famine by reading sermons from the Puritans.
  • Lawrence on Amos 8:11 - 11 years ago
On this days that Famine will come to pass. Coz watever God said shall come to pass. Like king Saul. Be wachfull.
