"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them"
The Holy Spirit records the course of the descendants of Cain, who having slain the righteous Abel did not wither away.
Parenthesis is God's mercy giving man to come to senses as the Father of the Prodigal Son in the parable waited.
Cain's inheritors have multiplied on the face of the earth, and as v.4 says 'the same became men of renown.
Are we not living in a very similar circumstance? There were 'mighty men, and men of renown. In our time it is celebrities, whose flashy life style is much emulated and peccadilloes of their kids are treated with kid gloves on the excuse that is a touch of affluenza; if they went into a career, doors are opened instantly for they are nepo babies. How ardently the media glitz surround their life style! Wealth makes 'the men of renown',- no matter the sewers left flooding the broadways and homes, their lives are envied. It was thus fallen angels found their men so they were no longer 'fallen from their first state' but found first in Cain a kindred spirit,- and then there were others as carriers of the wickedness. Jude refers to them: "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."(v.6) These unclean spirits without exception under judgment, but made common cause with the natural man beginning with Cain.
These sons of God would corrupt natural man of old even as we find it happening in our times.Social media platforms are flooded with their hate and devilish agenda. Is it surprising that God would judge the old world with waters that had become byword for the wickedness? " But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt./There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked."(Is.57:20-21). "And there was no more sea."(Re.21:1)
"A son in his own likeness, and after his image,"(Ge.5:3) refers to Adam who is also the son of God. ( Luke 3:38). Methuselah is distinct from his siblings. "And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech./And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters.(Ge.5:25-26)
Noah
Heb. Noach meaning rest. Foreshadows Jesus Christ who is the Mediator between God and man. In a similar manner Noah serves as the link between the old world and the new. God did not spare "the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Pe.2:5)"
The period "the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing," was one hundred and twenty years (Ge.6:3)) to which the Spirit gives a basis for baptism by water, where in few, that is, eight souls were saved by water'(1 Pe.3:20). Good conscience is equally applied to body, spirit and soul.
Noah is also a double Adam as the steward into whose keeping all His creation, were left in trust. For this reason the Last Adam a life-giving Spirit explains the beginning of the age yet to come.(1 Co.15:45)
He walked with God, meaning in the presence of God, so he was aware of the will of God and its fulfillment. The significance of the name of his son attests to it. It is the power of the Word and it allowed him to prophecy of the end times." Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones."(Jude v.14-NIV)" The number Seven is indicative of his life span was in accordance with the word of God. Sixty-five years before Methuselah. Three hundred years with God (3x100) points his translation without seeing death was fulfillment of the word, "And whoever lives by believing in me will never die."( John 11:26). We are setting his life in context of the word forever settled in heavens.(Ps.119:89)
Methusaleh
The Spirit places him as a double for the Son, being the seventh in descent from Seth who stepped in the breach of Abel who is the first martyr for being righteous. ( 1 John 3:12) Seven as command number indicates perfection of the divine Will. He is the only son in an age when a large family was the norm, foreshadowing 'the only begotten Son' who would be sent to the world. The holy family of Seth survives judgement of the old world through his grandson Noah. His personal name, meaning man of the dart, points to the river of time that Salvation Plan of God connects from beginning of the age to its ending
Lamech
The Spirit includes two of the same name in order to present representations of godless descendants of Cain and of the holy family beginning from Seth. Lamech the fifth in descent from Cain was boastful and who feared neither God nor man. "If Cain is avenged seven times then Lamech, seventy-seven times.' (Ge.4:27). Famous last words. On the other hand Lamech seventh in descent from Seth is a locus classic as to the 'in the image of man'. Thus Methusaleh is set as the double for the Son. The remaining sons and daughters are left out.
It pleased the Father that his fulness in Jesus Christ should dwell. Accordingly the Spirit gives him the tag of 42 (14x3. By Law of Gradation the power given to the beast is 42 months. Similarly the martyrdom of Abel is set in the frame reference to the Son as the beast whose authority is derived from Satan. (Re.13:5)
This Law is established on the basis of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which earned him a name above every other name. (Ph.2:9-11; Col.1:15-19) It is thus we need approach the narrative. So our names were recorded before the worlds began. (Ep.1::3) Genealogies found in the God Document include us as the names mentioned here.
The generations of Adam with which we began this chapter presents us Noah for example a double for the Son shall continue after the old world has been judged thus we are coming a full circle, genealogy of 'now' within the genealogy of the saints redeemed from the earth in eternity. His calling and gifts are irrevocable ( Ro.11:29), whether we consider in part or as a whole.
" And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch./ And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters."(vv.18-19) Enoch carried the holy family through his generation.
In the next post titled The Four we shall consider Enoch, Methusaleh, Lamech and Noah.
The Holy Spirit is summing up the genealogy of the Holy Family that were distinct from the other line that Eve as the mother of all living bore. Seth for instance is mentioned first as a son in his own likeness. The Holy Spirit with this tag establishes clearly his place as the double for the Son.
The role of Eve is indirectly referred in the second instance 'after his image' (v.3) which sets the double function of Seth in the genealogy. "And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew." (4:25). He is stand-in for Abel, the righteous one. He was after the own image of the Son, so he is heavenly; also served also as a template for the earthy.. With this simple adoption the Spirit lays down the ground rule of being born again. (John3:5-7).
St Paul explains this double function. "And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly./ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption." The will of God has laid the rule so Christ is the head of the church; For the holy family there is only the name of the son and in him should all his fullness dwell.
It is thus Seth stepped in the breach made by Cain so obedience of Seth proves his DNA, which was faith.
In this genealogy the v.4 could be taken as the template for introducing the heir of promise. Of the rest the Spirit rounds off with this formula. "And he begat sons and daughters.' for example see vv.6-7. Seth is followed by Enos and it is how the Holy Spirit has organized the generations of Adam. In the Gospel of St Mathew we have three sets of 14 generations each, from Abraham to Jesus giving us the key to understand all these lists are held together in Jesus Christ. (Matt.1:17) The tag of 42 (14x3) serves for the Son of man whose earthly ministry lasted 42 months.
Eve is the Mother of all living. The two worlds set in Adam carried 'bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh' and it showed up in Abel and later in Seth. This would set a holy family which shall be gathered for the Millennial Reign.
"And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory./And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."(Matt.24:30-31) All the tribes of the earth indicate the coming of the Son as the Savior of the world.
The Salvation Plan having set in motion before the foundation of the world shall overarch to the Day appointed for the Son. Day of Regeneration following judgment shall be called the holy city of God. God set a mark that allowed Cain to build a city which he called Enoch after his son.
In short we have two narrative arcs one regarding the will of God regarding his Son, the city of light and another, eternal habitation for the children of wrath. In the narrative, we see the mode of Parenthesis and it separates the day of Final judgment from the fall of man. It explains the significance of the day in 2:17 we have it, "For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.' There Parenthesis rules one day from another. It is thus we need handle the 'now' the day of salvation with day of the Lamb. Similarly the one week in the Seventy weeks appointed in the vision of Daniel.(Dan.9) One week is isolated from the whole.
"And will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy."(Ex.33:19). This is vital for understanding our calling. We need a personal Savior and Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. (He.13:8)
"Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord."
It is significant that Adam names Eve only after their fall. Nevertheless God had blessed them even before they were formed, As Cain the firstborn he ought to have carried as the heir of promise. He proved by his deeds that he was unfit. "If thou does well will not thou be accepted" does not change since God cannot deny his holiness.
Eve under curse and as the mother of all living bares Cain who is the head of a family and his genealogy reveals they went into arts and crafts. Also significant is the fact she bares a godly child who is called Abel who is qualified in the book of life as the righteous one.( 1 John 3:12) From vv.18-24 we have a list of names, which is typical of artisans whose mastery is essential for burnishing the gloss of urban life to a sheen. Notwithstanding not all were city dwellers as Cain was. "And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle." (v.20).
Then there were Jubal ("He was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ,"v.21) and Tubalcain ( an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron"-v.22). God set Adam to keep the ground, meaning that God chose his tasks while Cain's progeny as mentioned here above chose their careers to prosper in their new environment. Henceforth the city would shape them so their families would have altogether livelihood of their choice, which meant they would set before them new priorities entirely different than Adam had. At the end of this chapter we read this verse,"Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord." Father Mendel did not tell anything new with his experiment with peas and we have how God works with His creation. The two worlds set in Adam carried 'bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh' and it showed up in Abel and later in Seth. This would set a holy family which shall be gathered for the Millennial Reign.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for Your love for Joseph, in that You sent Your Son Jesus to heal him. Jesus, You are the God of miracles. I claim victory for Joseph. Heavenly Father, through Your Son Jesus all the honor and glory be given unto You. Amen
How do you explain the enmity between the (seed of the serpent) and the (seed of the woman) in ( Gen 3:15)? seed meaning child, bear, conceive seed.
The word (again) is #3254; it means to add or augment, ((to continue to do a thing)), come more + conceive. Augment means to make (something already developed or well under way) greater. Therefore God greatly multiplied her conception as in ( Gen 3:16) God said "in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children" Whatever she did with the serpent was why God put enmity between the serpent seed and the womans seed. and why God greatly multiplied her sorrow and her conception.
God allowed her to have twins which greatly multiplied her conception.
To continue to do a thing means give birth and continue to give birth again. Cain and Abel were twins.
I refuse to argue with anyone Benny. Its sad that somebody on this site can say really bad things about another and accuse them of being argumentive and some will just run with that whether its truth or not. Friendly discussions, or even friendly debates is a great way to learn from each other and grow as the Body of Christ. We must humbly seek the Truth and not think we already know it all, we do not!
End time signs we have no need to write to each other that already know. Keep sharing His word when can but also being ready to meet in the air. Don't let all the 'no rapture' or 'post-trib' whatever else there is. Many false prophets will come the Word tells us. God Bless you all.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-111
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
I have been thinking a lot recently about the incident in the Garden when Peter cuts off Malchus' ear. I find it strange that Peter carried a sword at all or that our Lord would have countenanced anyone like that as a follower far less a disciple.
I wonder if any of the gospel critics have given this incident any serious consideration?
Dear Brother David ,hi!I made sure to remember to pray for you and your family. And for your 2 daughters and their families!God bless you My Brother in the Lord.
Thank you for your caring and concerned reply, many are not in agreement with understanding this subject, and as long as we address it with caring and love to not let it divide us. All I can do is give the understanding I have received from my prayer and study with an open heart.
John 8:34 The Greek word poie translated as committeth means continuing the actions of sin, being the servant of sin. They were not willing to accept Jesus as their Messiah and come in repentance, not that they would not sin. 1 John 3:6-10 As long as we abide in Him we are in a relationship walking in the light.
Does this mean we will not sin? No, if we are abiding in Him, we are living a repentant life and in obedience, not a slave to sin but a slave to Christ. In verse 8 we have that Greek word poie we are not practicing and continuing in sin not in repentance. Same in verse 9 poieo commit, the children of God are manifest, they are being known by following and being obedient.
Gal. 5-9 we have had 2000 years of leaven that we can see everywhere the whole lump is almost bloated. Rom 6:1,2,6,14,15,16,18,22 These are about not to continue in sin, sinning without thought or repentance. When we accept Jesus and are baptized, we are justified and made righteous no longer a servant to sin.
Does that mean we never sin again, No, we are dead and free from sin as long as we are obedient Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. We must remain faithful and obedient, if not we will be responsible and have to pay for our sins. Rom. 8:2 as long as we abide in Jesus, we have life and are free from the penalty of death the strength of sin is the law. Hebrews 10:10,14,17,18,26,29,39 My understanding of this chapter is written to those of the house of Israel that some who had become a Christian were falling back to the old law.
The heart of it is Heb.10:23-27 the same as for us today we are to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering or forsake, if we do not hold fast, we will not be in God's grace and our sins will no longer be covered and we will pay at the judgment. Phill. 2:13 Heb. 13:21 is God's work of sanctification.
Quote: (Ronald, have you ever had an unction that cross your own will, telling you not to do or say something & show you what to do or to say? & if not heeded to, condemn you for it? Or maybe you were in a tryst state, & say or did something & later Holy Spirit/ Grace convicted you of wrong? This is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, Grace.)
I agree and I do not think I have said anything that is contradictory of it. As long as we are in the grace of God walking in the light not in the flesh our sins will be forgiven and our salvation secure.
If we believe, If we abide in Jesus, if ye keep my commandments, if we endure, if thou continue in his goodness, if ye keep in memory, if we faint not, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end, if ye endure chastening, If we confess our sins, he that endureth to the end shall be saved, he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved,
These are things that we must do, our responsibility, our obedience, there are more. We cannot earn our salvation it is a free gift by the grace of God through the faith of Jesus. We are to be obedient and if we are until the end, we will be in the grace of God covered by the blood of Christ and all our sins will be blotted out. If we are not, we will be cut off Rom. 11:22, and be under the penalty of sin and we know what that is. A Person who was saved, a Christian, can turn from Christ and return to sin.
Our difference I see, is my understanding is a Christian can if they do not endure and go back and willfully sin unrepentant will lose their salvation and the gift of eternal life.
"Why else would God multiple her sorrow and conception?/Multiplied conception means the woman had twins, Cain was the son of the serpent, and Abel the son of Adam." You write.
Read the verses. "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord./And she again bare his brother Abel." (4:-1-2) 'Again' does not mean twins. Private interpretation is from carnal wisdom.("For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost"-2 Pe.1:20-21) God shall not against his principle.
Read Ge.1:12 'Whose seed is in itself' Also what Jesus spoke on the subject. A good tree cannot produce both as you seem to subject. Does a fountain produce bitter and sweet water simultaneously?
I refuse to be drawn in any argument, and with friendly greetings,
David tarrying in Jerusalem was in the fitness of things where a mighty man of warrior like Joab knew his business and he relied on his expertise. So the king sent him,"and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah'.
Jerusalem is a geographical name and it had nothing in itself to protect David from sinning. What defiles a man comes from his heart. This being the case Jerusalem is a name doubling for any other for instance Egypt, Sodom or Babylon (Re.11:8). On the other hand his heart remained the most vulnerable and having time out from an overload of work and in between awaiting reports from the battle front he had more chances of slipping up in his daily devotion. The heart is like a city, "Except theLordkeep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain(Ps.127:1)" and it applies to our hearts as well.
In this context this short dialogue between God and Cain shall help us understand that heart is where any meaningful association between God and man could be set up. Cain and his younger brother offered sacrifices, and God counseled of sin lying at the door.(Ge.4:3-7).
King David let himself go astray from his sensory inputs."And from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon./And David sent and enquired after the woman(vv.3-4) He let his eyes deceive him.
"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?/Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts./ Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God(Jas,4:1-4)."
The curse that now God administers upon Cain is not anything new. Because of disobedience God had pronounced it before Adam, "Cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life." Adam's lot was to return to dust,"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."(3:17-19) "Cursed is the ground for thy sake" was impersonal, setting kingdoms of the world to his act of disobedience. Eden held nothing remotely connecting with the disobedient. 'What concord has light with darkness?'. For this reason His holiness would not allow Adam remain in the Garden.
In acting out his jealousy on his younger brother he showed himself as the hatchet man for Satan. In the world of the body he did away with the righteousness so he served as a sign. He became the servant to sin. "And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever."( John 8:35). Consequently the man who shall redeem the earth of his guilt must have to begin from the world of the Spirit. It explains the logos aspect of the Son.
Cain was a sign for the wicked one. The mark that God set on him was only good for habitations where shadows created more headlines, and genteel folks either thrown under the bus or cast aside were 'muppets.' Alternate reality made them corporate czars and in no time they could also end up as convicted felon. Land of Nod is where playing stocks gave men a chance to succeed and also lose the shirts off their back. God let Cain thrive and take chances as every vagabond heart who chafed at laws. While tempting Jesus Satan showed the glories of his kingdom which Jesus would not take. He came to the earth as light of the world. Satan set up eternal habitations for the dead, and the nightlife in cities, their speakeasies are run by the dead. Jesus did not let him.
Cain was of that wicked one, Cain was the son of the serpent which was Satan.
( Gen 3:3) .."neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die" The word (touch) is #5060; it means to lie with a woman.
( Gen 3:13) "And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent (beguiled) me; and I did eat". The word (beguiled) is #5377; it means morally to seduce.
( Gen 3:14-15) v15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and (between) ((thy seed)) and ((her seed))"...
The word (seed) is #2233; it means carnally, child, to disseminate, bear, conceive seed.
God said He would put enmity between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman.
( Gen 3:16) "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiple thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children"...
Why else would God multiple her sorrow and conception?
Multiplied conception means the woman had twins, Cain was the son of the serpent, and Abel the son of Adam.
Thats why John said in ( 1 Jn 3:12) "Not as Cain, who was ((of that wicked one)) and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous". Cain was of the seed of that wicked one!
( Jn 8:43-44) v44 "Ye are ((of your father the devil)), and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it".
Many don't want to see, or believe this is true, but the Word of God will speak for itself if we get our own interpretation, or the things we have been taught by other men out of the way. Truth matters.
Was raised up in the ways of the LORD since far back as I can remember. Was in church 6 days out of the week until I graduated elementary and went to public school. Church on Wednesday and twice on Sunday, Tuesday was Boys and Girls Club. Monday to Friday I attended school at the Christian Academy (at the Church). Time went on, it was Friday Night Youth Services in place of Boys and Girls club. So I thank God and give Him the Glory that I was raised up according to the Word. My Parents got saved, took us all to Church. When I was 10, one day out of nowhere I had the desire to play the Bass Guitar. After nine months of practicing Guitar and Bass Guitar, I was able to praise Him with an instrument during service. Traveled with our Pastor during the summer, he would minister the word, and we in music and song. As of right now My sister and I are still keeping on, serving the LORD. Striving, daily keeping away from the Sin Business. Glory to God on Earth as it is in Heaven. No man goes to the Father except through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. There are three (literal:1,2,3-Father, Son, Holy Spirit.............They are One (Figurative: One in unity by agreeing, They are God, They were there at the beginning, etc.).
John 8:341John 3:6-10Gal 5:9Rom 6:1,2,6,14,15,16,18,22Rom 8:2Hebrews 10:10,14,17,18,26,29,39
there's much more I could bring here in opposition of your thesis of continuing in unbelief & sin for life term,
by the Grace of God I shall.
Matt 3:11,12
not John's, but of Christ spoken of in Rom 6, being dead unto sin,,,which is being born again of the Incorruptible Seed, were one becomes a new creature, old things are pass away "sinful nature has been crucified on the cross of self denial" we having awaken unto Righteousness, all things become new & we sin not because His Seed remains within us. for those Rom 8:14 the Spirit of God will never, never lead us into sin, thus opening more fully the Law of the Spirit of Life of Christ Jesus, therefore we abide in Him & sin not, for abiding in this law sets us free from the law of sin & death.
1Peter 1:9 here & now, Remember this perfection can be added to as we grow in Grace, as Paul declares in Philippians.
According to your own statement & others like minded, you're not abiding in Him, for you are continuing to commit sin as a way of life, Which Holy Spirit says in Romans that now your under Grace, God forbid, confirming by the Spirit of the Scriptures of Truth that one is not born again, neither knows Him.
Ronald,,,,Friend---As I read your posts my heart went out to you, meaning I felt your sincerity, honesty & godly desires towards God, this is not in question here, but the knowledge you have is not the true knowledge of God, I'm speaking from my past experience,
I like you was sincere, etc, but I was sincerely wrong, oh how I struggled, the veil always separated me from my Beloved, there was no pure unity of the faith & oneness that Christ prayed for, my conscience bearing witness against me, no matter how I cried, repented, fasted, prayed or studies the letter, & walk accordingly, yet, the veil was still hung between us & why? 2Cor 3:6 I remember it quiet well, a yoyo of an experience.
1 Cor 15:34,45 true knowledge is given by the true Grace of God who appears bringing salvation to all mankind.
Ronald, have you ever had an unction that cross your own will, telling you not to do or say something & show you what to do or to say? & if not heeded to, condemn you for it? Or maybe you were in a tryst state, & say or did something & later Holy Spirit/ Grace convicted you of wrong? This is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, Grace/Light/Anointing we have received & appears within us, & if minded & exercised is the daily Cross & is not a lie, abide in Him & in the steadfast confidence continual exercising of it, will eventually set us free from the law of sin & death. Received by Luke 10:42Psalms 130:5"the word of His Grace, who words are Spirit & Life" Psalms 145:12-18Psalms 123:2Psalms 62:5 meaning silencing all thoughts & imaginations & in stillness of soul, wait. Psalms 46:10 and He will appear Hebrews 9:28 . Believing that it is He appearing to you is faith, hearing the Word of God in the heart, that Paul preached & this faith purifies the heart & gives victory over the world.
2Cor 3:16-18 this stillness & waiting upon the Lord is turning to Him, who is Spirit, whom takes the veil away & gives us knowledge of Himself, 2Cor 4:6,7 setting us free from the bondage of sin, we know the Truth & the Truth set us free & transforms us into His Image. Light begets light, in whom there is no darkness at all.
causing you Philippians 2:13Hebrews 13:21 "obviously this is not sinning".
James 4:7! Stand Steadfast in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ! Find a King James Bible Believing church, it will encourage and help you grow in the Lord. I am praying for you!
Koosees thank you for your comment but the post speaks for itself, in context. It has nothing to do with my opinion or reading something into it that's not there. (In the clouds) means (in the clouds) It is in context!
If you disagree with it then show what part of the post is not Biblically correct.
"And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." (v.18)
God asked Cain a direct question , "Where is Abel thy brother?" God as a Spirit was not asking a silly question with regards to his brother but rather where had he despatched his soul by doing violence to his body. Cain knew what he meant. Cain truthfully replied, "I know not." The anger and violence that Cain meted out to his sibling came from and set him in context of a land, which in the world of the flesh casts a certain light and gives every man a certain value.
The light from the sun moon and the stars provides light so day and night a man can distinguish. But is he wise for all that? Cain had no clue where he had sent Abel. Nicodemus represents his knowledge when he quizzed Jesus. John 3:10-13) The heavenly things and the earthly things denote two worlds of the Spirit and of flesh.
God allowed Moses to see the glory God which the Spirit qualifies as the back parts."and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by./And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen."(Ex.33:22-23) Glory of God which one may see from the world of the body is of quality different than one may see through the light which is his Son, the true Light. (Ps.36:9). So whosoever abiding in Christ Jesus sees light as God has willed. "Be ye holy for I am holy" is doable for those who trust in him. They trust in his grace, Abel offered a better offering which pleased God. "Without faith it is impossible to please God". God formed all hearts alike, Abel pleased God by following truth. (2 Cor.4:6) This knowledge is defined as the presence of God, it is word based and it is doable.
Everything else is the land of shadows and the land of Nod is a label to denote where alternate reality is the norm.
"Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth."
With one man's disobedience sin entered into the world, and also death. But heart of man fashioned by God and truth in its spiritual space gave him still bearings about, and God's gift,- his breath making him knowable and accessible for any one in need, is irrevocable. The Holy Spirit gives it a concrete imagery, that of a door. The face of God in short signifies his love and the door that anyone may open by faith signifies heart of man. Abel opened his door to access what was pleasing in His sight. It was to this God referred, "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."(4:9) Cain's subsequent actions showed divine counsel was wasted on him. There were two worlds and he would not open the door seeking grace from the world of the Spirit.
His rational mind would have convinced him without the body of Abel God had nothing to pin him on. But blood of Abel wanted God avenge his death. Everything which man does good or evil shall come up before God. Christ is in whom the fullness of God dwells. The Spirits lays down the Law of Gradation, which we have from the words of Jesus,"All these things shall come upon this generation."(Matt.23:35-36)This generation is Person specific. Every death of a child of God is insult to the holiness of God who has adopted into the fellowship of God with Man. His death and resurrection is a sign and there shall be a day of judgment.
. But to find peace with God one only need open one door and abide therein. "I am the way, the truth, and life."
"If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.(v.7)
The Lord fashioned all hearts alike so how come Cain responded to please God was different from that of Abel? Sin made all the difference. Sin created a smokescreen so man is easier handled by the conjuror's art, smoke and mirrors which man looks at believes in a lie of course.
God from whom comes all the good gifts now onwards becomes a 'bogy' to Adam and man and woman would rather hide as made His presence 'in the cool of day'. So their fall signified there were barriers put up between them and their God. This reality was reflected in their hearts as well.
Cain presented fruit of the field, which tells us the world of the flesh weighed uppermost in his calculation. Abel on the other hand laid much in store with the world of the Spirit. All that was knowable of God was in the heart of Cain and Abel alike. God tests their works as the Psalm quote tells us.(Ps.33:15)
God's calling and gifts are irrevocable. Their hearts presented a level playing field a face as the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters, which is between heaven and the earth.God forbade them access to this kingdom without getting rid of sin that put up barriers between the two. It is to which God referred." If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?" Peace with God was impossible with this crouching sin at the door. Cain had certainly a problem. It was obvious that he viewed the worlds that his heart circumscribed differently than his brother who was righteous as the Spirit annotates. Cain viewed according to the carnal wisdom taught by Satan.. St John writes of Cain,' who was of that wicked one,'( 1 John 3:12, 8) and contrasts his brother as righteous.
Luke 10:38-42 Mary chose the better part. Abel did better because he trusted in the promises of God.
Lamech-cont'd
(Selected from *SC Bible Dictionary)
Enoch
Genealogy (2of 2)
It pleased the Father that his fulness in Jesus Christ should dwell.
Genealogy (1 of 2)
The Holy Spirit is summing up the genealogy of the Holy Family that were distinct from the other line that Eve as the mother of all living bore.
Truth is what matters Benny.
Blessings to you.
I wonder if any of the gospel critics have given this incident any serious consideration?
Part one
See part two,
Part two,
The heart of it is Heb.10:23-27 the same as for us today we are to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering or forsake, if we do not hold fast, we will not be in God's grace and our sins will no longer be covered and we will pay at the judgment. Phill.
God bless,
RLW
I refuse to be drawn in any argument, and with friendly greetings,
"But David tarried still at Jerusalem (v.1)."
Blessings.
God Bless You all, and strive on.
Dear Ronald
How would you explain away these Scriptures?
John 8:34 1John 3:6-10 Gal 5:9 Rom 6:1,2,6,14,15,16,18,22 Rom 8:2 Hebrews 10:10,14,17,18,26,29,39
there's much more I could bring here in opposition of your thesis of continuing in unbelief & sin for life term,
by the Grace of God I shall.
Received by Luke 10:42 Psalms 130:5"the word of His Grace, who words are Spirit & Life" Psalms 145:12-18 Psalms 123:2 Psalms 62:5 meaning silencing all thoughts & imaginations & in stillness of soul, wait.
Light begets light, in whom there is no darkness at all.
causing you Philippians 2:13 Hebrews 13:21 "obviously this is not sinning".
Grace be to you
