Here we have an objective lesson as in the case of the earthen vessel of which we had earlier discussed. It was indicative of a specific time but it also carried an universal lesson meaning that desolations that the nation would meet would not spare the prophet in as much the physical reality of his body suffered the common fate of all. But truth written in his inward parts signified that righteousness of God separated him from the rest. "for I am with thee, saith theLord, to deliver thee(Je.1:19)". It was His promise.
Another important lesson we have drawn has to do with the manner the Spirit catalogues places on the earth, cities where partial judgements would occur Egypt, Sodom Babylon Jerusalem to name a few are juxtaposed to the crucified Lord Savior (Re.11:8). Thus the Spirit is establishing the nature of Atonement. Jesus Christ died for the whole world and not for a few as some sects would teach. ( John 3:16). The spiritual underpinning of the Righteous God therefore is established by objective lessons. God is Truth which in terms of light makes God the Father of lights. In the creation account when the Spirit writes God separating light from darkness before He set the sun, moon and the stars in the firmament it is a clear giveaway to the diligent reader the divine purpose. There shall be in the end two groups children of light and children of darkness.
It is in this context we have to look at the present lesson. In order to understand we need go back to the Ch.21 (vv.8-10):And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith theLord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death." What the Lord here says is simple. Those who were chastened shall live. And those who cheat exile and disgrace by going to Egypt or any other merely bought reprieve for a time.
Principle of Similitude keeps such comparisons heavenly realities with realities of the earth. We find it the Bible throughout. God breathing into the nostrils of Adam is one way the Spirit draws our attention to how wonderfully we are made. It has a bearing upon the incident when Gideon's hundred routed the Midianites. We are pitchers holding light and it is what living soul means.
In vv.13-14 we see prophets of Samaria are placed on the same scale of prophets of Jerusalem because evil makes no difference. It is God's Time placing evil on the same category; evil of holding truth in unrighteousness characterized them and it is judged on the same scale as false teachers of today. They were shown the way of life and they acknowledged truth once but now? Their lust for fame and wealth led them down a slippery slope and what they preach damns them. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. When they toady up to their President and make a show of piety and prayers what are they doing but 'they strengthen also the hands of evildoers?'. These shall not go unpunished.
And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err (v.13).
14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
The Spirit compares things, people and their state of being in terms of realities of heaven."Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy(1 Pe.1:16; Le..11:44)"What does it indicate? Truth is Holy which is the everlasting God. It is illustratively described as 'set in unapproachable light' St Paul defines it as 'Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whombehonour and power everlasting. Amen.(1 Ti.6:16)"The Supreme Being is transposed into a state of being and is also defined as the everlasting light. When Jesus said,"I am the truth" we get to see the image of the Invisible God (Col.1:15). What is darkness but absence of light? Darkness is a state of being as light is. This being the case let us consider this verse,"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil ( John 3:19). " Their response to light is predictable. 'Lest their actions would be reproved' they stay away How shall they know the value of grace?
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved..But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God(John.3:20-21). As demanded by God Prophet Jeremiah had to break the earthen vessel at the east gate leading to the valley of Hinnom, it had a lesson for him. Truth was wrought in his inward parts. It is what the body holds. Thus the Spirit compares the inner man with Truth which is wrought of God. It has a lesson for us. 'Whatever we may know God or truth is understood by His creation so no man has excuse. What is truth Pontius Pilate would ask and leave the Jews to do what they would,-and to their perpetual shame they rejected the prince of life.
And the present state is not frozen in time but it is leading to desolations that are to fall upon the whole earth. It is signified by a whirlwind which Spirit introduced in an earlier chapter(Is.66:15). In the present chapter vv.19-24 it is ever on the move which must be considered as perpetual in the same category of perpetual backsliding of the nation. If we consider everlasting light representing righteousness of God it is only natural to accept as Just God the whirlwind of his fury is intended to break upon the wicked or the children of darkness.
In the Vision of Ezekiel we read of this whirlwind coming out of the north(Ez.1:4). In this context we get some additional clues from the Book of Psalms. We read of God 'who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:/Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:(Ps.104:3-4).
"Behold, a whirlwind of theLordis gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind"(23:19-23)
in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly."
v.5: "This Day of the Lord shall culminate in the advent of the Mesiah-King, the Anointed One from God. It is what we read in v.5: "Behold, the days come, saith theLord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
"Therefore thus saith theLordGod of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith theLord(v.2)".
'Pastors that feed my people' are to be understood from this context,"O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name(Is.26:13)". In monarchical system the nation of Israel has had an array of kings both good and bad. By law of gradation all these are catalogued as good or evil and their frame of reference to the Son, in whom is the fulness of the Sovereign Lord of all. Whether pastor or Sanhedrin of the post-exilic times they were leaders or pastors and as such they were accountable to God for their actions. One egregious miscarriage of justice was when they denied and rejected Christ the servant-king before Pontius Pilate and vowed Caesar as their only lord. This was foreordained and it was quoted by Jesus on the night he was taken,"..."This very night you will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered(Matt.26:31).' He was quoting Prophet Zachariah(13:7). Revelatory nature of prophets takes us all the way to God and the Spirit in setting forth the desolations with which evil of man and nations are purged periodically are not in strict chronological order. When God commanded Jeremiah not to take a wife or family 'in this place' he served as a sign. It is not how God demanded of Hosea. In this present chapter while God reveals about return of the nation of Israel what he revealed to him in Ch.16 is of the same, immediate turn around as well of turmoil breaking out in the future leading up to the Millennial Reign. (Je.16:13-21)This is what we see at present and the present state is not frozen in time but it is leading to desolations.
Good morning to you :) , I don't read all the comments as I just don't have time unfortunately , I do read all of yours and one or two others on here and I always look out for people asking questions . I believe that we , spiritual Israel , are the Kingdom of God through and because of Christ . I also believe that all flesh shall see the Salvation of God when Christ returns to earth physically , and sets up his Father's Kingdom here . When that happens he truly will be the Saviour of all , because without his intervention we would destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons . At that time all atheists and idolaters , whatever their creed colour race or religion , will be given the opportunity to accept him and his Father . I like to think that most will :) . I really feel that we are in the very last days now . Things can change so fast and there are always things going in that we are not told about . For sure I believe that Israel's allies , and the reason that they are so bold and confident , will withdraw from them for some reason . I've said this before about how Israel in the Old Testament , put it's trust in its friends and in hirelings to save them from their enemies . It didn't work out for them then and it won't work out for them now . They are emboldened by their allies . They are not trusting in God to save them , but when did they ever :( ? When their enemies are on the brink of defeating them , Christ will physically return to save them , physical Israel and us spiritual Israel and indeed all , all will be given the chance to accept him and his Father and ours . Great and awesome days are coming Jordyn , I'm very excited and a bit over emotional about it all if I'm honest . I just can't wait for real peace and justice and love to rule this earth . God is love and all things work together for good to them that....love.....God . That's the key for all Christians , we must open our hearts to our God to His Son and to each other . Man-child is a composite picture in the Vision of the woman clothed with the sun (Re.12). The iron rod that he was given is a clue to the identity of the Son. He is the way, the truth and the life. Antithetically what modern churches present is a composite picture of wolves in sheeps clothing. Their ravening appetite is for wealth while their 'Jesus talk' is like a sugar coating to bring in larger congregation ready to part with their earnings.
You judge the quality of a tree by its fruits. Faith of these false teachers is more in tune with the Barnum quote,'A sucker is born every minute.' Our Redeemer Lord did not have a fixed abode and for what purpose did he come to the earth? He suffered shame for our sake. "Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach (He.13:13,12)". In the present chapter the prophet accuses them thus,"Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith theLord./Therefore thus saith theLordGod of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith theLord(vv.1-2).

The burden of Jeremiah as a prophet was to deliver an unpalatable truth and he was vilely treated. He was beaten and was put in stocks, meaning that his freedom of movement was restricted. He owed to God his allegiance because He was the sovereign Lord God. His body was nothing much, but as chosen before the worlds began his soul and inner man testified Truth. So he could not go against it.
His body was as the earthen vessel that he broke at the east gate leading to the valley of Hinnom. His action was a sign of discharging God's command faithfully. By the same token he had submitted his body for suffering. He chose the way of life because of which his own people had become his enemies. His enemies were powerful and they represented the powers that be. What he predicted before the nation would also touch him but these were only as far physical realities were concerned. He was secure since he fulfilled the will of the Lord God. His soul was safe ."And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt.10:28)".it is what the words of holiness signify: these stand as signposts that direct the course of all those who would choose way of life.
Here we see two directions that spell out way of life and way of death. Of which Jesus also spoke: "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matt.7:14). Jesus showed with his example where would that lead to. "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wideisthe gate, and broadisthe way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:(7:13)"Also significant is the verse that follow it."Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." In Jeremiah's time such a phenomenon existed and it is very much now evident.
Man without God relies on his wisdom and his diplomacy is based on the ground realities which however it may sound reasonable is no guarantee that it would remain for long. "The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereofisof the LORD(Pr.16:33)". It was thus with Zedekiah seeking the help of Pharaoh. His future was tied up with the ups and down of the ways of the world.
On the other hand Jeremiah remained steadfast since God had assured him his safety. Because he served Him than a changeable man he was misunderstood and mistaken for a spy, treated vilely as a traitor. HIs body frail as it was could do with some comfort under such unrelenting oppression from his fellow countrymen. The king still retained some sympathy for him so he would ask him favor,"I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there(v.20)". The king granted his request and had him put in a prison in the palace courtyard. He was allowed a loaf of bread daily that must have been generous considering that the city was under siege and food was hard to come by.
As predicted by the prophet we read that King Zedekiah died in exile and received a decent burial in the end.
From the lives of the prophet and the king what spiritual truth we may learn? The heart of both were fashioned alike while outward circumstances differed vastly. Truth written inward parts of the prophet benefited from the word God had put in him. His inner man on the strength of which could make him endure hardship, suffer humiliation and all of which were only superficial. Inner man is a term to indicate inner life of man.
Christian Living teaches us to live, to which life experience is not merely our physical lives on the earth. It is a life nourished by the word of God. We are in heavenly places though glory of the body is fading away.
And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
Chapters are not sequenced since the narrative is set in God's Time. We already had come across Zedekiah earlier and now as the verse states he was set on the throne by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. As with the lives of children of God vis-a vis nations the difference is that God does not change, so a child of God is secure come what may while there is change in fortunes of nations. This is abundantly made clear in the instances of Jeremiah and King Zedekiah. God had prepared Jeremiah for the tasks ahead while the king of Judah was a puppet to the fickle nature of the world powers.
What is statecraft but a calculated risk at best? In the King's court there must have been a faction advising Zedekiah to seek the support of Egypt to checkmate the threat from Babylon. In the Book of Isaiah we read that King Ahaz sought the help of Assyria to break the league of Samaria made with Syria. Judah did not learn the lesson and neither would they now.God had determined to chastise Judah for her manifold sins and apostasy. Her seeking help of Egypt, a broken reed would not stopthe Chaldeans from fulfilling the purpose of God. "Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem./Then came the word of theLordunto the prophet Jeremiah saying,/Thus saith theLord, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land./And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire(vv.5-8)." Well vengeance is mine saith the LORD. Love thy neighbour love one another even our enemies. But in the OLD TESTAMENT where God is the same then as He is now. But in 2 Kings 19:34-35

Isaiah 19:22-25
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
Don't believe a word I say without looking to the scriptures and asking Christ to teach you.
Going to concordances for definitions of words will actually hinder you, because most of God's truth is hidden in parables and symbols, and have nothing to do with the defined definition of the word, truth is hidden within the symbol of that word.
Job is a parable, containing prophecies of Christ.

We should be mindful of our personal view of God and regularly check ourselves and ask questions such as:
Do I esteem God above all else?
Do I stand in awe of Him?
Do I consider all of His majestic ways?
Do I believe what He said when it is wrong to think that He is altogether UNlike us, being absolutely unique and unparalleled.
Ex. 8:10; Job 9:3; 1 Kgs. 8:23; Is. 46:9
Dominion and awe belong to God Job 25:2
He is a great and awesome God Dt. 7:21
Do I have high and lofty thoughts of God?
Do I tremble because of His splendor and majesty?
If the answer is no to these questions, then one should study what the Scriptures say about His majesty. In doing so, one will expand their view of Him and swell up with praise and honor to Him.
So, in His pure Being, God is truly above and beyond all else. We worship a God that cannot be totally searched out. We can never exhaust the depths of His perfections.
All these ideas speak to His transcendence-His Otherness in relation to his creatures and created things.
But He is also majestic in His eminence-His nearness and involvement and relationship to His creatures.
And the most majestic aspect of His eminence is the incarnation of Jesus.
Heb. 1:3Col. 1:15
Jesus is the image of the invisible God-the exact representation of His Being, the brightness of the Father's glory, the express
image of the person of the Father. Jesus, being God, humbled Himself by taking on humanity into His deity and glorified
God in His perfect humanity as He does in His perfect deity. He brought the glory of God to mankind. He showed us the Father.
John 10 explains this well.
How blessed we are that God bent low for us in giving us His divine Son to show us the majesty of His grace and mercy in
salvation in Christ.
And in viewing the eminence of God in Christ, we can ask these questions.
Do I value the coming of Jesus as the most important thing in all of history?

God is exalted far above all else by nature, not because we place him in this place of esteem.
Gen. 14:22 attests that He is God Most High, as how Abraham, Isaac and Jacob knew him.
Ps. 113:5 states that God is the One who is enthroned on high. No one put Him there by appointment. He did not ascend to this position. He has always occupied this place of highest sovereignty. Jesus, in His humiliation of becoming a man, is the only one who ascended to the highest place of God. Ph. 2:9
He ascended back to the glory He always had with the Father prior to His incarnation. John 17:5
There is nothing and no one greater than He and this is eternally so.
Ps. 111:3 says that Glorious and majestic are God's deeds.
Ps. 145: tells of the glorious splendor of His majesty.
The Scriptures say that He is majestic in:
power ( Ex. 15:6
holiness ( Ex. 15:11)
voice ( Job 37:4)
deeds (111:3)
beauty (Ez. 31:7)
splendor ( 1Chr. 29:11)
authority ( Jude 1:25)
victory ( Ps. 45:4)
in raiment (93:1)
His majesty in incomparable (Ez. 31:3)
2 Thes. 2:8 says that the enemies of God will be destroyed by the splendor of His coming.
Neh. 9:5 says that He is exalted above all that could be praised.
Ps. 92:10 says that God is exalted forever.
Ps. 113:4 says God is exalted above the nations. Nothing rises above Him.
Ps. 138:2 says God is exalted above ALL things.
And who can pass up Isaiah's vision of the Lord upon His throne High and exalted! Is. 6:1 Read the way He is described here. Awesome!
Micah 6:6 tells us to bow down before the exalted God.
Let us have a high view of God, esteeming Him to be the best of all, pre-eminent in all things, the height of perfection, the One no one can supplant, the absolute sublimity of anything worthy and holy. His majesty surpasses all that any being can imagine or think. Even the angels do not know the full extent of His majesty, but cry Holy, holy.
The Bottles of heaven "clouds": it is an allusion to the girbahs, In the Hebrew its nay'-bel its a skin bag for liquids or bottles made of skin, in which they are accustomed to carry their water
God is asking Job does he know how God controls the weather!
It has nothing to do with you and I being a old bag of wine and it doesn't have anything that suggests one day we will be Gods.

The clouds in Hebrews is "nephos" it's used to picture a large dense multitude.
The clouds used in Job is "shachaq"
a powder (as beaten small); by analogy a thin vapor; by extension the firmament: - {cloud} small {dust} {heaven} sky. (Strongs definition in the Hebrew.)
The usage has no parallel.
Read Job 38:1-41 and get the context.
Now concerning the wine skins in Matthew 9:14-17.
verse 14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
John was the Last of the old testament prophets.
He came to announce the coming of the King.
Christ came to usher in something New.
Verse 16 and 17 Christ explains the change of dispensations.
The old dispensation of law was ending and Christ didn't come to patch it up, He came to present a new garment.
We being the body of Christ and Christ being the Head represents we being baptized into union with Christ and him being Lord over his body. He's the head and Lord over our lives by the quickening Spirit that rose Christ from the dead.
144,000 in Revelation, the ones who get the Name of God on their heads sealed to go into the Trumpet judgements. Rev 4:1 -- Rev 19:11-21 is the Tribulation period. As for the Dragon (satan), Beast (antichrist) and beast out of the sea 10 kingdoms John saw literally but was a figurative representation of those 10 kingdoms. (4th beast meaning within in the old roman empire territory. he will get 10 kingdoms in that area, won't go beyond what the the word says) I take what John saw and described literally until it can not be possible then its a figurative truth, but still the truth just figuratively speaking. Like I take Gen 1:1 literal as most of the Bible. Army out of the abyss and its description, is literally what they will look like. I asked if the woman was the city during tribulation, because I wasn't sure. But I am convinced now that the woman is the city. I was rebuked and told I was into that 'once saved always saved' doctrine because I mentioned Grace from God will remain before during and after tribulation. (Not that I want to take be here for it, just mentioned what the Bible says. I have tried to reach out to Pastor, but haven't received any response. Where I am going with this i dont know. But I love you in Christ and as Christ loves us. Lets us never quarrel though, it's about who is wrong and helping that person get it right. But the person who is wrong gots to take advice (be willing to take correction we love each other and want the same for each other and that goes for me.)

There are many false teachers indeed, no 'rapture' or pre trib post trib. REV 1:19 is the key to reading it, seen (1:1-18), which are (2,3/7 letters to churches in Johns time and the church today I apply it to. and the things which shall be hereafter 4:1 -22. So 4:1 is all future events.
I'm sharing this to show the power, mercy, love, patience, kindness of God and hope that others learn from my mistakes. I also have to summarise as I there is not enough space for me to put it here.
Age 0-6: Born to atheistic family, witnessed biological father physically abuse my mother and siblings on multiple occasions. Mother and father divorced. Have not seen or spoke to father since.
Age 6 and onward: My mother met man who became my stepfather. Stepfather enjoyed alcohol and cannabis. Was mentally abusive toward mother which ultimately deals the same hurt and pain as the physical abuse. He got my mother on alcohol. Would often get drunk and slander my mother. He committed adultery on a few occasions but was not discovered until later on in the marriage.
Age 23: I partied in night clubs in the local town centre, went to Ibiza on a couple of occasions and began my own indulgence in cannabis.
Age 24: Close friend of mine committed suicide, sank into depression that lasted several years, addiction to cannabis increased drastically. Isolated myself and even contemplated suicide. However, I was also aware of the grief this had caused to my friends family.
Age 33: While pondering about death of friend and high on cannabis I had somewhat of an "out-of-body" experience where I saw a bright light, felt overwhelming love which was then followed by a great feeling of guilt. From that day I confessed Jesus was Lord however, I still walked in darkness while having "itching ears".
Age 34: My mother had 2 strokes and finally split from stepfather, quit my job to look after her physical needs.
Age 35: No job, no wife, no children, no home as I returned to my mother's home and during this time I heard the word "hypocrite" in a conversation, I realised I am one. Fully submitted to God & never felt more blessed and thankful knowing that I have found salvation in my Lord Jesus Christ. If anybody has questions feel free to ask. Keep on, Love you in Christ. God our Father, Christ our Salvation and the Holy Spirit our Comforter. We all fall short, and to admit you are new and learning is not a easy thing to admit. I have made several comment that says Christ is the Kingdom of God, and he is.
Christ is the high priest in the Kingdom.
He is calling out a priesthood to server under him, and during the (1000 year, ONE DAY, now 2000 years) going on NOW, we will be ministering spirit, as is Christ during this AGE.
When he has gathered all his priest, he will resurrect the dead back to their flesh and blood bodies.
Blessed are the ones who believe without seeing.
All the UNBELIEVING Thomas will LITERALLY SEE, and TOUCH the nail prints in his body, and BE ASHAMED.
We will also be given HIS BODY, and bear those scars, being crucified with him.
When the trumpet sounds an army of ONE FLESH will appear.
Seeing is believing.
ALL judgement has been given to Christ, so by his resurrection, he made his judges flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone so they could judge in truth and mercy.

Hi Gigi , yes I also despise cruelty to animals , if we have domesticated them then we must take kind care of them . It takes a certain kind of person to be cruel to an animal . I hate any kind of violence and the more defenseless the victim is , the more of a cold cowardly bully the perpetrator is . People who use weapons , any kind of weapons , unless it's in self defense and they are in real fear for their lives , these are also cowardly . My husband was a bit of a lad when he was young . He was big for his age and when at school his friends would always get him to stick up for them . He had a bit of a reputation , however , he never used a weapon or hurt anyone once they were on the floor and never picked on anyone who was smaller than himself . His reign came to an end when he was just seventeen , he fought two men , at the same time ,in a pub carpark and got a broken nose . Hes never fought since , he's too old now :) . Violence of any kind is never the right answer , I hope I never find myself in a situatuation where I feel I have to fight . All of God's creatures are so beautiful and are a reflection of the beauty of God Himself . Here we have an objective lesson as in the case of the earthen vessel of which we had earlier discussed. It was indicative of a specific time but it also carried an universal lesson meaning that desolations that the nation would meet would not spare the prophet in as much the physical reality of his body suffered the common fate of all. But truth written in his inward parts signified that righteousness of God separated him from the rest. "for I am with thee, saith theLord, to deliver thee(Je.1:19)". It was His promise.
Another important lesson we have drawn has to do with the manner the Spirit catalogues places on the earth, cities where partial judgements would occur Egypt, Sodom Babylon Jerusalem to name a few are juxtaposed to the crucified Lord Savior (Re.11:8). Thus the Spirit is establishing the nature of Atonement. Jesus Christ died for the whole world and not for a few as some sects would teach. ( John 3:16). The spiritual underpinning of the Righteous God therefore is established by objective lessons. God is Truth which in terms of light makes God the Father of lights. In the creation account when the Spirit writes God separating light from darkness before He set the sun, moon and the stars in the firmament it is a clear giveaway to the diligent reader the divine purpose. There shall be in the end two groups children of light and children of darkness.
It is in this context we have to look at the present lesson. In order to understand we need go back to the Ch.21 (vv.8-10):And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith theLord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death." What the Lord here says is simple. Those who were chastened shall live. And those who cheat exile and disgrace by going to Egypt or any other merely bought reprieve for a time.
Principle of Similitude keeps such comparisons heavenly realities with realities of the earth. We find it the Bible throughout. God breathing into the nostrils of Adam is one way the Spirit draws our attention to how wonderfully we are made. It has a bearing upon the incident when Gideon's hundred routed the Midianites. We are pitchers holding light and it is what living soul means.
In vv.13-14 we see prophets of Samaria are placed on the same scale of prophets of Jerusalem because evil makes no difference. It is God's Time placing evil on the same category; evil of holding truth in unrighteousness characterized them and it is judged on the same scale as false teachers of today. They were shown the way of life and they acknowledged truth once but now? Their lust for fame and wealth led them down a slippery slope and what they preach damns them. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. When they toady up to their President and make a show of piety and prayers what are they doing but 'they strengthen also the hands of evildoers?'. These shall not go unpunished.
And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err (v.13).
14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
The Spirit compares things, people and their state of being in terms of realities of heaven."Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy(1 Pe.1:16; Le..11:44)"What does it indicate? Truth is Holy which is the everlasting God. It is illustratively described as 'set in unapproachable light' St Paul defines it as 'Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whombehonour and power everlasting. Amen.(1 Ti.6:16)"The Supreme Being is transposed into a state of being and is also defined as the everlasting light. When Jesus said,"I am the truth" we get to see the image of the Invisible God (Col.1:15). What is darkness but absence of light? Darkness is a state of being as light is. This being the case let us consider this verse,"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil ( John 3:19). " Their response to light is predictable. 'Lest their actions would be reproved' they stay away How shall they know the value of grace?
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved..But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God(John.3:20-21). As demanded by God Prophet Jeremiah had to break the earthen vessel at the east gate leading to the valley of Hinnom, it had a lesson for him. Truth was wrought in his inward parts. It is what the body holds. Thus the Spirit compares the inner man with Truth which is wrought of God. It has a lesson for us. 'Whatever we may know God or truth is understood by His creation so no man has excuse. What is truth Pontius Pilate would ask and leave the Jews to do what they would,-and to their perpetual shame they rejected the prince of life.

And the present state is not frozen in time but it is leading to desolations that are to fall upon the whole earth. It is signified by a whirlwind which Spirit introduced in an earlier chapter(Is.66:15). In the present chapter vv.19-24 it is ever on the move which must be considered as perpetual in the same category of perpetual backsliding of the nation. If we consider everlasting light representing righteousness of God it is only natural to accept as Just God the whirlwind of his fury is intended to break upon the wicked or the children of darkness.
In the Vision of Ezekiel we read of this whirlwind coming out of the north(Ez.1:4). In this context we get some additional clues from the Book of Psalms. We read of God 'who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:/Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:(Ps.104:3-4).
"Behold, a whirlwind of theLordis gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind"(23:19-23)
in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly."
v.5: "This Day of the Lord shall culminate in the advent of the Mesiah-King, the Anointed One from God. It is what we read in v.5: "Behold, the days come, saith theLord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
"Therefore thus saith theLordGod of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith theLord(v.2)".
'Pastors that feed my people' are to be understood from this context,"O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name(Is.26:13)". In monarchical system the nation of Israel has had an array of kings both good and bad. By law of gradation all these are catalogued as good or evil and their frame of reference to the Son, in whom is the fulness of the Sovereign Lord of all. Whether pastor or Sanhedrin of the post-exilic times they were leaders or pastors and as such they were accountable to God for their actions. One egregious miscarriage of justice was when they denied and rejected Christ the servant-king before Pontius Pilate and vowed Caesar as their only lord. This was foreordained and it was quoted by Jesus on the night he was taken,"..."This very night you will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered(Matt.26:31).' He was quoting Prophet Zachariah(13:7). Revelatory nature of prophets takes us all the way to God and the Spirit in setting forth the desolations with which evil of man and nations are purged periodically are not in strict chronological order. When God commanded Jeremiah not to take a wife or family 'in this place' he served as a sign. It is not how God demanded of Hosea. In this present chapter while God reveals about return of the nation of Israel what he revealed to him in Ch.16 is of the same, immediate turn around as well of turmoil breaking out in the future leading up to the Millennial Reign. (Je.16:13-21)This is what we see at present and the present state is not frozen in time but it is leading to desolations.
Man-child is a composite picture in the Vision of the woman clothed with the sun (Re.12). The iron rod that he was given is a clue to the identity of the Son. He is the way, the truth and the life. Antithetically what modern churches present is a composite picture of wolves in sheeps clothing. Their ravening appetite is for wealth while their 'Jesus talk' is like a sugar coating to bring in larger congregation ready to part with their earnings.
You judge the quality of a tree by its fruits. Faith of these false teachers is more in tune with the Barnum quote,'A sucker is born every minute.' Our Redeemer Lord did not have a fixed abode and for what purpose did he come to the earth? He suffered shame for our sake. "Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach (He.13:13,12)". In the present chapter the prophet accuses them thus,"Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith theLord./Therefore thus saith theLordGod of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith theLord(vv.1-2).
"....For every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of theLordof hosts our God (v.36)".

The burden of Jeremiah as a prophet was to deliver an unpalatable truth and he was vilely treated. He was beaten and was put in stocks, meaning that his freedom of movement was restricted. He owed to God his allegiance because He was the sovereign Lord God. His body was nothing much, but as chosen before the worlds began his soul and inner man testified Truth. So he could not go against it.
His body was as the earthen vessel that he broke at the east gate leading to the valley of Hinnom. His action was a sign of discharging God's command faithfully. By the same token he had submitted his body for suffering. He chose the way of life because of which his own people had become his enemies. His enemies were powerful and they represented the powers that be. What he predicted before the nation would also touch him but these were only as far physical realities were concerned. He was secure since he fulfilled the will of the Lord God. His soul was safe ."And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt.10:28)".it is what the words of holiness signify: these stand as signposts that direct the course of all those who would choose way of life.
Here we see two directions that spell out way of life and way of death. Of which Jesus also spoke: "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matt.7:14). Jesus showed with his example where would that lead to. "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wideisthe gate, and broadisthe way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:(7:13)"Also significant is the verse that follow it."Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." In Jeremiah's time such a phenomenon existed and it is very much now evident.
Man without God relies on his wisdom and his diplomacy is based on the ground realities which however it may sound reasonable is no guarantee that it would remain for long. "The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereofisof the LORD(Pr.16:33)". It was thus with Zedekiah seeking the help of Pharaoh. His future was tied up with the ups and down of the ways of the world.
On the other hand Jeremiah remained steadfast since God had assured him his safety. Because he served Him than a changeable man he was misunderstood and mistaken for a spy, treated vilely as a traitor. HIs body frail as it was could do with some comfort under such unrelenting oppression from his fellow countrymen. The king still retained some sympathy for him so he would ask him favor,"I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there(v.20)". The king granted his request and had him put in a prison in the palace courtyard. He was allowed a loaf of bread daily that must have been generous considering that the city was under siege and food was hard to come by.
As predicted by the prophet we read that King Zedekiah died in exile and received a decent burial in the end.
From the lives of the prophet and the king what spiritual truth we may learn? The heart of both were fashioned alike while outward circumstances differed vastly. Truth written inward parts of the prophet benefited from the word God had put in him. His inner man on the strength of which could make him endure hardship, suffer humiliation and all of which were only superficial. Inner man is a term to indicate inner life of man.
Christian Living teaches us to live, to which life experience is not merely our physical lives on the earth. It is a life nourished by the word of God. We are in heavenly places though glory of the body is fading away.
And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
Chapters are not sequenced since the narrative is set in God's Time. We already had come across Zedekiah earlier and now as the verse states he was set on the throne by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. As with the lives of children of God vis-a vis nations the difference is that God does not change, so a child of God is secure come what may while there is change in fortunes of nations. This is abundantly made clear in the instances of Jeremiah and King Zedekiah. God had prepared Jeremiah for the tasks ahead while the king of Judah was a puppet to the fickle nature of the world powers.
What is statecraft but a calculated risk at best? In the King's court there must have been a faction advising Zedekiah to seek the support of Egypt to checkmate the threat from Babylon. In the Book of Isaiah we read that King Ahaz sought the help of Assyria to break the league of Samaria made with Syria. Judah did not learn the lesson and neither would they now.God had determined to chastise Judah for her manifold sins and apostasy. Her seeking help of Egypt, a broken reed would not stopthe Chaldeans from fulfilling the purpose of God. "Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem./Then came the word of theLordunto the prophet Jeremiah saying,/Thus saith theLord, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land./And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire(vv.5-8)." Don't believe a word I say without looking to the scriptures and asking Christ to teach you.
Going to concordances for definitions of words will actually hinder you, because most of God's truth is hidden in parables and symbols, and have nothing to do with the defined definition of the word, truth is hidden within the symbol of that word.
Job is a parable, containing prophecies of Christ.

We should be mindful of our personal view of God and regularly check ourselves and ask questions such as:
Do I esteem God above all else?
Do I stand in awe of Him?
Do I consider all of His majestic ways?
Do I believe what He said when it is wrong to think that He is altogether UNlike us, being absolutely unique and unparalleled.
Ex. 8:10; Job 9:3; 1 Kgs. 8:23; Is. 46:9
Dominion and awe belong to God Job 25:2
He is a great and awesome God Dt. 7:21
Do I have high and lofty thoughts of God?
Do I tremble because of His splendor and majesty?
If the answer is no to these questions, then one should study what the Scriptures say about His majesty. In doing so, one will expand their view of Him and swell up with praise and honor to Him.
So, in His pure Being, God is truly above and beyond all else. We worship a God that cannot be totally searched out. We can never exhaust the depths of His perfections.
All these ideas speak to His transcendence-His Otherness in relation to his creatures and created things.
But He is also majestic in His eminence-His nearness and involvement and relationship to His creatures.
And the most majestic aspect of His eminence is the incarnation of Jesus.
Heb. 1:3 Col. 1:15
Jesus is the image of the invisible God-the exact representation of His Being, the brightness of the Father's glory, the express
image of the person of the Father. Jesus, being God, humbled Himself by taking on humanity into His deity and glorified
God in His perfect humanity as He does in His perfect deity. He brought the glory of God to mankind. He showed us the Father.
John 10 explains this well.
How blessed we are that God bent low for us in giving us His divine Son to show us the majesty of His grace and mercy in
salvation in Christ.
And in viewing the eminence of God in Christ, we can ask these questions.
Do I value the coming of Jesus as the most important thing in all of history?
Do I treat Jesus as the King He is?

God is exalted far above all else by nature, not because we place him in this place of esteem.
Gen. 14:22 attests that He is God Most High, as how Abraham, Isaac and Jacob knew him.
Ps. 113:5 states that God is the One who is enthroned on high. No one put Him there by appointment. He did not ascend to this position. He has always occupied this place of highest sovereignty. 2 Thes. 2:8 says that the enemies of God will be destroyed by the splendor of His coming.
Neh. 9:5 says that He is exalted above all that could be praised.
Ps. 92:10 says that God is exalted forever.
Ps. 113:4 says God is exalted above the nations. Nothing rises above Him.
Ps. 138:2 says God is exalted above ALL things.
And who can pass up Isaiah's vision of the Lord upon His throne High and exalted! Is. 6:1 Read the way He is described here. Awesome!
Micah 6:6 tells us to bow down before the exalted God.

The clouds used in Job is "shachaq"
a powder (as beaten small); by analogy a thin vapor; by extension the firmament: - {cloud} small {dust} {heaven} sky. (Strongs definition in the Hebrew.)
The usage has no parallel.

Now concerning the wine skins in Matthew 9:14-17.
verse 14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
John was the Last of the old testament prophets.
He came to announce the coming of the King.
Christ came to usher in something New.
Verse 16 and 17 Christ explains the change of dispensations.
The old dispensation of law was ending and Christ didn't come to patch it up, He came to present a new garment.
We being the body of Christ and Christ being the Head represents we being baptized into union with Christ and him being Lord over his body. He's the head and Lord over our lives by the quickening Spirit that rose Christ from the dead.

So 4:1 is all future events.
Age 0-6: Born to atheistic family, witnessed biological father physically abuse my mother and siblings on multiple occasions. Mother and father divorced. Have not seen or spoke to father since.
Age 6 and onward: My mother met man who became my stepfather. Stepfather enjoyed alcohol and cannabis. Was mentally abusive toward mother which ultimately deals the same hurt and pain as the physical abuse. He got my mother on alcohol. Would often get drunk and slander my mother. He committed adultery on a few occasions but was not discovered until later on in the marriage.
Age 23: I partied in night clubs in the local town centre, went to Ibiza on a couple of occasions and began my own indulgence in cannabis.
Age 24: Close friend of mine committed suicide, sank into depression that lasted several years, addiction to cannabis increased drastically. Isolated myself and even contemplated suicide. However, I was also aware of the grief this had caused to my friends family.
Age 33: While pondering about death of friend and high on cannabis I had somewhat of an "out-of-body" experience where I saw a bright light, felt overwhelming love which was then followed by a great feeling of guilt. From that day I confessed Jesus was Lord however, I still walked in darkness while having "itching ears".
Age 34: My mother had 2 strokes and finally split from stepfather, quit my job to look after her physical needs.
Age 35: No job, no wife, no children, no home as I returned to my mother's home and during this time I heard the word "hypocrite" in a conversation, I realised I am one. Fully submitted to God & never felt more blessed and thankful knowing that I have found salvation in my Lord Jesus Christ. If anybody has questions feel free to ask. I have made several comment that says Christ is the Kingdom of God, and he is.
Christ is the high priest in the Kingdom.
He is calling out a priesthood to server under him, and during the (1000 year, ONE DAY, now 2000 years) going on NOW, we will be ministering spirit, as is Christ during this AGE.
When he has gathered all his priest, he will resurrect the dead back to their flesh and blood bodies.
Blessed are the ones who believe without seeing.
All the UNBELIEVING Thomas will LITERALLY SEE, and TOUCH the nail prints in his body, and BE ASHAMED.
We will also be given HIS BODY, and bear those scars, being crucified with him.
When the trumpet sounds an army of ONE FLESH will appear.
Seeing is believing.
ALL judgement has been given to Christ, so by his resurrection, he made his judges flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone so they could judge in truth and mercy.
Romans 9:23 That he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels if mercy, which he hath afore prepared for glory.
Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy on all.

When I say I am not good with words is because usually people don't understand what it is that I am trying to convey. Although sometimes I may be slow to understand I am by no means stupid. The Bible speaks of a time of great deception and a falling away from the Truth in the Latter days. We are living that time period right now.
Many of you on this site believe that the words in the modern version bibles are just as important as the words are in the King James Bible.
Those who are deceived and the falling away in the Lastdays will be true believers, it will be Christians who think they are doing the will of God.
I'm not trying to change anyone's mind or tell them what to believe or how to think in this post, but we should ALWAYS allow the Word of God to speak for Itself!

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in STEWART, and behold a great red dragon (of the sea) .....
Revelation 12:9 .... that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, WHICH DECEIVES the whole world .....
Revelation is a revealing of Jesus Christ and THOSE who believe they were MADE ONE FLESH with Christ, by his resurrection.
It's symbolic, make Revelation apply TO YOU, and be BORN AGAIN by the words of God.

You DIED with Christ, but only Christ arose, YOU were a JOINT HEIR with Christ in the Kingdom of God, Christ is the kingdom of God.
You DIED, only Christ is alive and YOU are the Body of that LIFE, as Christ is the BODY of the LIFE of his Father.
You said you want to lead a LIFE of OBEDIENCE, You DIED, ONLY Christ exist, he is the LIFE, and you the Body, He CAUSES you to do his WILL, Christ, The Body, walks in total obedience to his Father's Life (Spirit); therefore, if and when you come to TRUTH, you walk in total obedience.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is BORN of God (resurrected as ONE FLESH), doth not commit sin; for HIS SEED (Christ) remains IN HIM, and he CANNOT SIN, because he is BORN of God (resurrected as ONE FLESH with Christ).
