Jesse, that you so much for the study of the book of Philippians. I am still learning and hope one day to write more Bible studies. May God bless you and you're family in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is my little study in what I see in the verses.

    Part 1. Philippians 1:1

I find it interesting that the Bible mentions bishop in Apostle Paul's epistle more . Apostle Peter only mentioned once.

    Part 2. Philippians 1:6,7,8

I find it interesting to hear the word " day of Jesus Christ " . To me the Day of Christ would be the meeting in the clouds. 2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    Part 3. Philippians 1:9,10,16

I find verse 11 to be very important to grow in grace, for we need to be fill with the Holy Spirit to bear fruits to good works in Christ Jesus. " Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. "

    Part 4. Philippians 1:18, 19

I love verse 18, no matter what happens in life, we must all preach Jesus Christ gospel of grace . 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

    Part 5. Philippians 1:27, 30

I love verse 27, our conversation should always be the gospel of Christ Jesus.

    Philippians 1:21

is one my favorite verse, because when things get bad, the easy way out is to die, but there is hope for strength in Jesus Christ to continue in the grace of the gospel .

Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 my gospel of the grace of God

Update. My mom as some of you may know passed away January 16. This week Lord willing I will get my dad into a facility for his Dementia; starting with a nurse evaluation tomorrow. It has become necessary due to his confusion over medications; constantly trying to order things online; giving out personal information etc. Home health workers CANNOT administer pills.

Anyway the Lord worked out the connections for this process some time back; and this is in my mind a very nice facility; even one resident told me that. It will be against his will; but he is declared incompetent by the PCP.

It seems the Lord has opened doors for me to eventually return to Western PA where I used to live. Legally I think I will be able to sell the house; but visiting dad from out of town may mean I'll keep it for a time; and I am going to see about having a friend stay here if he is interested.

I suppose I am taking a cowardly sort of approach again getting more care for the rest of this week; namely to prevent arguing over the necessity for his move; as well as not having him manipulate me into changing my mind. It won't be easy with the bad weather upcoming to do things quickly but I can't waste any more time either as such things as drying urine soaked clothes over a space heater is very dangerous as well as unsanitary.

My main prayer is that my dad will have some opportunity to study the Word; somehow I plan to find a large print Bible to offer him (may have some stored someplace). My mom was able to have someone witness and sing Amazing Grace on her deathbed; albeit my mom's last day and she was unconscious; still the Lord allowed it to happen in its time as the lady who talked to her had no idea she was dying as she hadn't been there for about a month and just happened to call me that day.

This is the only way my dad will get to hear the Gospel as far as I'm concerned; I've done all I can.

I'll pray about when to return here for regular postings.

Ronald Whittemore, I like what you wrote. All I can think of is one verse that Peter wrote.

    2 Peter 1:20-21

    20. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of anyprivateinterpretation.

    21. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Now that we understand what Peter wrote . Apostle Paul wrote this verse to Timothy and I like it.

    2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You're right about different churches and different ways of believing, but the fundamental of Salvation should be clean cut, Jesus Christ died on the cross for all our sins and was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures . 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Fuji, I love this last statement you made, because it's so true. Sometimes we believe and trust people and forget that God's Word is our authority in our lives .

    Fuji statement:

" You belong to Him , you don't belong to your family or your friends or this world , you belong to Him , so behave accordingly and most of all TRUST Him . He will take care of all your needs ."

I know that with out the word of God, it will be hard to live a real Christian life.

May God bless you and you're family in Christ Jesus .

David Allen, I will continue in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to pray for you're Mother and Daughter with family to have a healthy and wonderful life in Jesus Christ .

When I was a kid, my parents had a picture of Mother Mary and Jesus on the living room wall. They would always look at it and pray, but the house was crazy with drinking and having party's. I was walking in a alleyway and saw in a dumpster a picture of Jesus grown up and I pull it out. When I showed it to my Father, he was so happy and took Mother Mary down and put up Jesus. Believe it or not, the house was even more crazier.

When some neighbor gave me a Bible, I started reading it and shared it with my 3 brothers. We would have Bible study in the dining room . My Father did not stop anything I did with the Bible until I wanted to take the picture of Jesus down . I realized that Jesus Christ was not just a picture on the wall, He was the real God that is living right now. My Father was upset that the picture was down, so I put it back up. The word of God changed the way we were living, it brought peace. All I can say, that the word is very powerful and changes lives for the better.

It took me 50 years to be come a believer, but the seed of the word led to Salvation.

Now, I know that the Bible is real and alive .

I truly pray that all goes well with you and you're family by God's grace .

Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 the gospel that is true Salvation for today .

    Peace

As we all know, Jesus told his Disciples " I leave you my Peace"

So when Paul testifies to the Philippians concerning Peace, we can witness and declare it to be the truth. We can wait for it!!!

    John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

    Philippians 4:7

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

    Hallelujah

We love God for his Love!!!

We praise God for his Kindness!!!

We worship him for his Works!!!

We will pay our Vows !!!

We will Glorify his Holy Name !!!

    Amen! Amen! Amen!!!

Today I was reminded , I cannot trust or rely on anyone for anything and certainly not any one or anything that pertains to this world . God Himself and God only , protects and provides , supports and sustains me . It's only ever been Him and it will only ever be Him . I forgot this briefly and caused my self no end of stress and foolishness .

Brothers and sisters , trust in Him and only in Him . He will provide for and protect you from the evils of this life . Don't be distracted by money or even love , love God first , God and Jesus must come before everyone and everything in your life because He loves you the most and He knows what's good for you .

You belong to Him , you don't belong to your family or your friends or this world , you belong to Him , so behave accordingly and most of all TRUST Him . He will take care of all your needs .

    Just some thoughts.

There are many interpretations of scripture and a plethora of church denominations. When we read and study the Bible, we can arrive at different conclusions. It might be that we are not ready to receive the answer as Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 3:2, or it might be that we are clinging to preconceived notions instead of approaching the text with an open mind and fresh eyes. We should set aside our interpretations and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rather than relying solely on our understanding, as advised in Proverbs 3:5.

We should approach Scripture with the curiosity and wonder of a child as if we are reading it for the first time. It is essential to read the Word of God with humility, acknowledging that we have much to learn. When God provided bread to the Israelites, they named it "Manna," which means "What is it?" This should be our mindset when we read Scripture-praying, "What is it?" We must strive to understand its message, be eager for the truth, and rejoice when it is revealed.

We must carefully follow the text, avoiding preconceived ideas and allowing it to reveal its meaning. If we impose our interpretations onto the text, we may alter its intended meaning and not see it. We must have eyes to see and ears to hear.

This is just for fun, but it could also be eye-opening.

We've all heard the expression, "You can't see the forest for the trees." Imagine someone standing in front of a forest, trying to appreciate its beauty but unable to do so because the trees are blocking their view. While it may seem simplistic, this analogy illustrates how our subconscious mind operates. We all have preconceived notions that can overshadow our understanding of what we are reading.

When asked how many of each type of animal went into the ark with Noah, many people will say there were two of each, one male and one female. However, that is not what Scripture states.

    God bless,

    RLW

    (Philippians Part 5):

    Philippians 1:27 - Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

He says only let your conversation, which is the word citizenship. The word conversation is the word citizenship. Only let your citizenship be as it becomes the gospel of Christ:

The word becomes means worthy. Again, the balance scales in the markets. You put an item on one side that you want to purchase, and you have to put money on the other side to where it equals out. And Paul is saying let your life equal out to the ministry of the gospel and truth of Jesus Christ, that whether I come to see you, or be absent, I may hear of your affairs.

Here's what he wants to hear: Number one, that you stand firm. That's the same message from back in Ephesians. In one spirit, in one mind (literally soul), while striving together for the faith of the gospel; The term striving together is the word SUNATHLETOS, SUN (pronounced soon) for with, and ATHLETOS for the word athletic.

You function together as a team for the furtherance of the gospel. No division. You're under the influence of the same Spirit. You're like one soul. You're like one person rather than a bunch of individuals.

Philippians 1:30 - Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Having the same conflict, and that's the word agony. Having the same agony which you saw in me, and now you hear to be in me. Paul says you want to know what it looks like, what I just told you about believing and suffering? It's the same agony that you see in my life, as I, like an athlete, battle with the opponent all day long. That's not just God's will for Paul. That's for every believer!

    (Philippians Part 4):

Philippians 1:18 - What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

We know what the rejoice means. It means satisfied. Obviously, Paul's not happy that people are coming between him and other people and there's a division happening in the fellowship in the body of Christ. But he has to be satisfied with it all because in the midst of it all, Christ is being preached. And all the things that are wrong about what these other people are doing, Christ is being preached!

So, he says that's my satisfaction. That also saves him from growing bitter against those who are treating him unjustly, and it allows him to keep the fellowship, the unity of the fellowship in the bond of peace.

Philippians 1:19 - For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

I'd like to share some technical information that I have learned. The term to my salvation is literally "for me for salvation." You might ask what's the difference? It's not Paul's salvation. But he knows that in his situation, it's going to be for him for the preaching of the gospel and the salvation of other people.

But notice that it's through two things: Through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. There you go. The fellowship of believers that are bonded together through prayer, and the supply of God's Spirit, that's it. That's all you need!

    (Philippians Part 3):

    Philippians 1:9 - And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Notice that he didn't pray that they would get love. A genuine believer already has love, the AGAPE love, because God is love. If you have Christ living in you, you have His love. He says that it might abound yet more and more. And notice that it's in two areas.

First of all, in knowledge, or full knowledge literally. As you grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, love abounds more and more. Secondly: and in all judgment; This word has to do with sensitivity, that you would have a sensitivity of what's right and wrong, rather than being deceived.

    Philippians 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

The word approve means to put it to the test. It's approval after testing. He says I want you to grow in love, in knowledge, and in judgement, so that you can put things to the test and come to a determination and a decision about the things that are excellent verses those things that are false.

Another purpose is that you may be sincere and without offence. This has to do with putting water in some kind of clear container and holding it up to the sun in order to see the elements that are in the water. So, what he's saying here is that sincerity means that you're just an open book. You're held up to the word. You're held up to the light. You have nothing to hide. Everything's out in the open. He says I want you to approve the things that are excellent so that you may be sincere and without offence until the day of Christ.

Philippians 1:16 - The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, which is the word for pure. Their motives are not pure when they are preaching the gospel.

    (Philippians Part 2):

Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Notice how it says being confident? It's actually a Perfect Tense, having become confident. Why? Because they've been in fellowship with the gospel from the first day until now. They've been in fellowship with the gospel, so confidently Paul can say about this very thing that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform, literally complete it, until the day of Jesus Christ:

That's quite a promise. But he didn't say that for all people. He says because you have been in the word from the first day until now, I can tell you that God's promise to you is that whatever work He began in you, He's going to complete it until Christ comes.

He didn't say for all people who profess to be Christians because not all professing Christians are saved, especially in our religious system in our country. So, the confidence comes because they've been in the word since the first day they were saved.

Philippians 1:7 - Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

This is the second time the word fellowship is found in this section. Partakers is the word for fellowship.

Philippians 1:8 - For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

For God is my record, or more literally witness, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. The Greeks, when they wrote, they used the internal organs of the body to express the reality of their affections. He's trying to say it's not surface.

    Biblical Greek Perspectives:

(Philippians Part 1): Written to the church in Philippi which became the first European city to receive the gospel. The focus of Philippians is on the unity of fellowship.

Philippians 1:1 - Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

Timotheus is the transliteration of the Greek word for Timothy. Paul and Timotheus, the servants, or literally slaves of Jesus Christ, and I think it's interesting that Paul does not introduce himself with his apostolic authority. He says Timothy and I and we're slaves, because he's ministering about fellowship.

There's nobody in high rank in fellowship. Everyone is the servant and slave of all. Paul presents himself, and even though he's an apostle, he presents himself as a slave!

And again, the word saints, every believer in Christ is titled a saint. The word saint means set apart. It's the same word that's used for holy in the term Holy Spirit. What he's saying is, "to all the set apart ones in Jesus Christ, who are in Philippi."

But then he adds leadership to this. He says with the bishops and deacons. The word bishop (EPISKOPOS) sounds like Episcopalian. Well, that's where we get Episcopalian from. EPI, and SKOPOS means overseer. EPI means over, and SKOPOS means scope, to scope over or to be an overseer of a church. It's applied to pastors and all leaders that are in positions of overseeing the entire fellowship of believers.

The word deacon itself, DIAKONOS means a waiter, like in a restaurant. A deacon is the expression and an extension of the pastoral or ministry leadership in the church, in that they take care of waiting on and taking care of the physical elements in the church or in people's lives which gives the pastors/overseers freedom to study the word and pray.

I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for this KJV Bible ministry website to help us learn and pray one for another in love through the Holy Spirit of God. We are not perfect, but Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We don't judge, but the Lord Jesus Christ . We must all love because Jesus Christ first love us.

The four gospels are the extension of the Old Testament for the promises and covenants of the fathers.

    Romans 15:8

Now I say thatJesusChrist was aministerof the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

We are living by grace and nolonger under the law for Salvation.

    Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under thelaw, but undergrace.

Christians don't have licence to sin, but to follow the word in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides us in truth.

Thank you, Prayer warriors. My son finally surrendered into the needs of HELP and admitted in the hospital. Finally. His pain was so deeply infected, it was three times bigger than a silver dollar. red/white around it so infected. I called the 911 to assist and they did the usual and found his sugar was 25. Oh, that made me Cry out of fear, scared of losing my son. his getting insulin inserted now, the antibiotic as well and resting at last in a bed that he longed for. Thank you, God.

when he got all that done, he asked me to stay with him. I camped at the hospital with him but I too had to leave for I ran out of my medicine plus drained out and relieved that his under God Hands to heal. the doctor, Caseworker and the son had a conversation of admitting into a after care. My son agreed and this time he stated yes for his tired of No Help from DSHS no sending Care workers, no meals on wheel to eat at least once a day, actually the caseworkers only went through emails and a lot of the emails get overloaded and no response majority of time, while my son was suffering and waiting for their promises and it was not met. I felt so hopeless the majority of times, it stressed me out for him and his needs. but today I am grateful. His in care of the Doctors and nurses plus getting food into his system. what a blessing I got to see. and this time the doctors and the staff TREATED him with compassion and talked very concerned. made my heart relived his care for. God please put your blessing hands on my son heart and relieve his broken heart as well as his body that his mom is always caring for him. amen
