    (Philippians Part 18):

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I can do all things in Christ who is empowering me. That's the literal translation. The first line that says I can do all things, he says I have sufficient inherent strength already in me in Christ. I have sufficient inherent strength. The power of God lives in me.

I can do all things in Christ, not through, but in Christ. And then describing Christ: who is the one who is empowering me, showing that God's power is continuing to produce His power and strength in me. I like that first line. I like how it says that I have sufficient inherent strength to do all things.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 when he prayed that the thorn in his flesh, his health problem, that God would heal and take away, God said to him my grace is sufficient for you. He doesn't have to take anything away. He doesn't have to change a thing. His grace is sufficient. And He is continually empowering me to do all things, to go hungry or to be full, to be made low or to abound.

Philippians 4:21 - Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. Salute means to greet. ASPADZO is the Greek word for greeting. He's commanding them. Greet all the saints for us. Concerning the community in Rome, he says the brethren which are with me, they greet you.

Philippians 4:23 - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

It's literally the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you all. Amen. Notice the word "be" is in italics. It was added into the translation. It is stating a fact. The grace of our Lord is with every one of you. In other letters he said the grace of our Lord is with your spirit.

This is all I have to share from Philippians. I am almost ready to start posting on Colossians. Blessings to you all in Christ!

    (Philippians Part 17):

Philippians 4:9 - Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Those things, which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:

That's pretty authoritative! The word do is the word PRASETTE which means practice, not just do it (POIEO), but practice. It's a Present Imperative. Continue to practice going down the road that I've gone, both in what you have learned and received, and heard and seen in me Paul says.

The consequence, and again, it's a promise: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Philippians 4:10 - But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

    He says, but I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, and we know what the word rejoiced means. He was celebrating the satisfaction in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me has flourished again;

The word care is PHRONEO, your frame of mind. Your frame of mind is set back on me again wherein you were also careful, but you lacked opportunity. He's talking about this gift of finances that Epaphroditus brought. He says before, you didn't have opportunity. But I'm celebrating in the Lord that now your care of me has flourished again. You would have before, but you lacked opportunity.

    (Philippians Part 16):

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Now that you know what rejoice means from a Greek context, he says be continuously satisfied in the Lord: and again I will continue to say, be satisfied in the Lord.

Philippians 4:5 - Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is near. Some English texts, instead of moderation, they say gentleness. But there's a big difference between gentleness and moderation. The Greek word literally means to withdraw. If you put that in context, he is saying let your reputation among people be that you withdraw from the material things of the world, not indulge.

Philippians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The word careful is the word MERIMNAO which is the Greek word for anxiety, the Greek word for worry. And basically, in summary, it means the occupation of the attention of your mind. Not the occupation of the mind, but the occupation of the attention of the mind.

Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The word keep is the word guard. The peace of God guards our hearts and minds in His peace, knowing that we've given it to Him and He's going to take care of it His way.

Well my first attempt got wiped out...

In short I am bringing up prayer; including an impromptu one at church today. I am at the brink in the next day or two of hopefully getting my dad into a retirement home. Very stressful.

Prayer basically is as far as I can understand it the Lord's way of strengthening a believer through members of His Body. I look at is as a spiritual exercise; where like in the physical realm we become flaccid and weak without regular practice and a rigorous routine. In scripture perhaps the clearest example of group prayer is when Peter was broken out of prison by an angel. From what I recall they were praying most of the night before this event. Of course it took some convincing that it was him at the door afterwards.

One of the things I remember the brother in the service today stating is that he asks the Lord who to help and in what way beforehand. I wasn't honestly paying too much attention although I saw his list of different subjects; such as missionaries one day and other parishioners another and perhaps world events on a third day of the week as an emphasis on prayer.

I will also state that I have observed that people like him who go through struggles themselves (including concern of proper care of his 93 year old mother as well as a couple sons living in sin) make those who struggle most likely to be the ones praying for others. This is why I want to make a pact with God that I will also share from what I have leared to benefit others; to either avoid certain things or persevere in prayer trusting God; something which hopefully I can attest to soon in my current situation.

It is up to the Lord's will there.

Our life is hidden in Christ and I am learning there needs to be total surrender of our will into serving especially within the Body of believers. I have certainly been needy but trust that is how the Lord works; as I certainly have no confidence in the flesh or what may seem right at the moment.

Mystery of God- bread and wine

"And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God."

The Spirit sets the two offices,- Melchizedek was priest-king and he blesses the one chosen in the Son. The everlasting covenant validates Abraham who believed therefore it was 'counted it to him in righteousness'. God had blessed him 'with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ' so the bread and wine are chosen to establish the role of Jesus Christ. The Son's enemies are his enemies so to speak. (Ps.110.1) He tells him, "And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand." Abraham did not win the war against kings but God did so when the Spirit adds, "And he gave him tithes of all," it explains what faith signifies. God provides so he would not even a shoe latchet from the king of Sodom. God had blessed him already. So Abraham tells the king,"lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:/ Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion."(vv.23-24). The Spirit sets Abraham as a forerunner of Jesus who said,"for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me."( Jn 14.30)

Bread and wine denote the body of Christ. "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him."( John 6.54-58). So faith meant for Abraham that he had a spiritual life as well. It explained why he lived in tabernacles 'the heirs with him of the same promise,' looking for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. It is thus under the everlasting covenant we live as Abraham did. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" and the good report is already written down. Abraham paid tithes for all his benefits and St Paul exhorts 'that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice."( Rom 12.1-2)

Mystery of God- Power and Authority

"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."(Mt.28.18) Having conquered death Jesus reclaims his authority over his house. "I go to prepare a place for you' explains the reason why he is at presented seated on the right hand of the most High. So our house must be where he is.He is also upholding all things by word of His power. (Heb.1.2) This power and authority must there shall have proper office and functions so we walk not by sight but in faith where heaven is equally an area where our works impact

"And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father."

When God sent Melchizedek, the priest of the most High to Abraham "and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth," it covered both worlds framed by the word.' The everlasting covenant in his Son extended his blessing to Abraham. Faith made the heirs of promise spring as well. So the stars of righteousness in the Dan.12.3 includes them. Circumcision included the seed of Abraham whose blessings only extended on the earth. So under the Law of Moses a Levitical priesthood was instituted. Abraham paying tithes (Gen.14. 19-20) was a covenant whereby levites served as ministers and it was changeable priesthood by reason of death. (Heb.7.22-24)

Born of water and Spirit our priesthood is from everlasting to everlasting. We were blessed so 'According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,' our office as king begin with mastery of the course in this world and as priests in our service, "that we should be holy and without blame before him in love."(Eph.1:3-5) "And Jesus said unto them,... That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."(Mt.19.28) We judge because we proved they were in error. Our abiding life in Christ made his grace work while they relied on their own cleverness.

    Mystery of God- wars

"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."This is within the Father Son relationship where all his enemies are His enemies as well. So when God sends forth his word it is to prosper His Son who in fulness of time shall be sent to the world. It shall never return to him in void. The decree establishes the day ending with day of his wrath. "The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath./He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries."(Ps.110.5-6) For this reason St Paul refers to full armour of God for our safety but the actual weapons of mass destruction, is the word."And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations." 'Uttermost parts of the earth,-heathens from one end to the other are arrayed against the Lord.(Ps.2.8) "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming."(2 The.2.8)

In the case of Israel, God gives them a separate covenant,"He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised" (Gen.17.13). But Son of whose house we are, lays blessedness on the basis of trust. Faith is the DNA, and only heirs of promise are called from there and . being Abraham's seed is not the basis. Everlasting covenant is not the covenant circumcision. Abraham believed and was counted to him for righteousness,. On the other hand God commanded Israel,"And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them;"(Deut.7.2) In their disobedience they lost the right to the land.'Until you perish from this good land." (Josh.23:12-13) The battle is of the Lord.

Iron sharpens iron. (Pro.27.17) What Israel at present does is merely that. There is no place for word in their hearts.

You mentioned 1 Timothy chap 3 (of elders & deacons), or even Titus chap 1 (of elders), but forgot to mention the one we quoted ( 1 Timothy 2:11,12): "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer (permit) not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

Here we have a clear directive that a woman within the Church gathering must not teach nor exercise authority (or 'to be in dominion': Greek) over the brothers in the Church. There can be no dispute over these clear words. And to Acts chap 10 (that Gentiles can also be a part of the Church, with the vision/message given to Peter of unclean animals); yes, all are accepted equally (Jew, Gentile, Man or Woman), but only certain are permitted to function in Christ's Church in their order & by appointment by Church elders. This is what God's Word declares and stands firm & any other ideas or preferences to the contrary matter very little. GBU.

Thanks for your reply Evangelist1. You ask, "How was it Israel specific?" Yes, wherever we read of Laws, Directives, & Instructions given to Israel, they are for them alone. We can however learn about God's dealings with Israel, of God's Character & Purposes, but we need to draw a clear line between them & the Church. Remember, even as we read in Romans 11:12-27, that God has cut out Israel (temporarily, because of unbelief) from the olive tree & engrafted the Church into that tree, therefore forming a new people (of believing Jew & Gentile)) that come to Him in true love & faith because of His Son. So, unbelieving Israel has been separated because of unbelief & now we have the 'real' people of God who are now believing & living according to the commandments by the Holy Spirit & the directives given to the Church.

To this end, the Apostle Paul instructs the Church (through pastors Timothy & Titus), in what is commonly called 'Paul's Pastoral Epistles', on Church organization, conduct, & supervision. Though the 'churches' comprised both saved Jews & Gentiles, the Church has become a new 'organism' IN Christ, where the Holy Spirit now conducts the hearts & ministry of believers as a Body. As such, what was distinct in the OT concerning Israel's relationship to God pertaining to the Law, has no bearing on the Church founded on Christ which is wholly redeemed and accepted through Faith. Onto Page 2.

The Holy Spirit is a person and the Holy Spirit is Love. Charity is Love .

    Galatians 5:22-23

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

We talk about Charity in churches and people think it's giving of something. Charity is more then tithing and giving, it the Holy Spirit that is Love.

    1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

    5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

There's is no one on earth that can love and not sin like Jesus Christ . God's love is so powerful that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus was more than the creation of heaven and earth. Jesus Christ paid all our sins on that cross and finished the law for all of us. All we do is believe the gospel of grace in Apostle Paul's epistle 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 .

Today we may call the " gospel ", the good news. It's news from God to believe and follow .

    1. The first good news.

    Genesis 2:16-17

16And theLordGod commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

    2. The second good news.

    Genesis 7:1

And theLordsaid untoNoah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

    3. The third good news. The promises and covenants.

    Genesis 17:5

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall beAbraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

    4. The fourth good news. Moses and the law.

    Exodus 3:6

Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. AndMoseshid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

    5. The fifth good news is John the Baptist.

    Matthew 3:1-2

1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

2And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

    6. The sixth good news . Jesus Christ the Messiah, the King, and the Savior.

    John 1:17

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came byJesusChrist.

    7. The seventh good news . Apostle Paul with the gospel of grace in the resurrection of Christ Jesus.

    Romans 1:16

ForIamnotashamedof the gospel of Christ:foritis the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek

    Galatians 1:1

    Paul, anapostle, (not omen, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;

Now we are here today with the writing of Apostle Paul. We all have a choice to receive the good news from Apostle Paul's epistle.

May God Almighty in the third Heaven bless the gospel of grace to all .
