I will be praying Rose for a full recovery.

God bless you and the family.

    Hello Pnovello,

Rose is improving some. Tylenol is helping her feel better and her cough is not as frequent as the other night. But when the Tylenol wears off she gives us the "I am sick" whining cry. We wish we could just take it all away from her, but she is in God's hand and we can trust Him to help her.

The natural man or carnal mind will have and does have its own prejudices etc ,but we aLso have the " eyes of our understanding" ( Ephesians) the natural may well see but does not understand what it sees . " the devil has blinded the minds of them that believe not " Faith in God comes when we not only hear but understand the Word of God when we ' see' what God is getting at .

When Eve rejected the Words of life that came from Gods mouth as to what was good to eat and evil and believed the seed or word of the serpent . " she LOOKED at the tree and saw it was good to eat" her perceptions were now corrupted and she reasoned this " it wouod make her wise" so too her reasoning . But Gods perception was that it was evil to eat and wouid bring them death .Thus they did that which was goid in their own eyes and were blind tothe consequences .

Jesus came he declared from Isiah to " restore sight to the blind".

As John Newton wrote " once I was lost but now am found was blind but now I see"

And how many scriptures speak of having eyes to see and ears to hear etc?

When Paul prayed from those Christian's in Ephesus and indirectly for us he acknowledged that Christian's can also be blind in some areas and it is still relevant that prayer . For how much power is needed to raise someone from the dead? And how much do we know of it? But a little Ithink. Yet that great and mighty power is towards us who believe but are often blind to it .GB

Two pairs, one pair to keep out of oncoming auto, to check if I am overpriced at the counter. Of course it helps me take in the local colour but I don't take them with me when I rest for the night. The other pair my inner man wears. My waking fear is that his eyes do not develop defects or are jaundiced by whatever I do while awake.

    Ez.40:2-4 "Son of man"

"And set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south."

This is a vision where the high mountain which is same as in the sense St John is set and the city is more to do with heavenly than Jerusalem which has been judged in Ch.9 "And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God."(Re.21:9). He is different from the one with whom the prophet had to do. "And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof." Instead of the golden reed "And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate."(40:3) The line of flax is " I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem."(Ze.1:16; 2:1) "I am returned" to Jerusalem is not about the city under judgment but for those upon whom God had set the mark, "And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry...."(Ez.9:4). The last verse in the Book also points to the heavenly city. "And the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there."(48:35)

The high mountain is situated on the north which stand for judgment. "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north."(Is.14:13; "Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land."-Je.1:14)

Ezekiel is a double for Jesus Christ. 40:4 The same warning applies to us. "behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee

    Ez.10 " Angels, spirits'

v..1 "As it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne." Compare with the description in the inaugural vision, "And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above."(1:22). In v.26 it is specific. "And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it." This appearance of sapphire stone is set in relation to this verse,"and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne."(4:2) Here we are looking in the wake of the judgment over Jerusalem being executed (Ch.9) The six men with slaughter weapon in their hand is yet another. We are focussing here on the Law of the Spirit sent to the earth.(The seven eyes and seven horns refers the Law covering the whole earth. Command number 7 refers this wholeness.)

"And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had./As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel."(10:12-13) This ties up with the eyes of the four beasts, "And in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind." We see how man is connected with heavenly places. The single measurement (Re.21:17) is stated in this v. "This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubim.(10:20) Man and angel are alike pressed in service by the Law of the Spirit.

The expression 'the likeness of' often used here is in the same sense as used in the everlasting covenant. "After our image and after our likeness"(1:28)

    He.1:3 "Upholding all things"

"And upholding all things by the word of his power,"

The Word was God which was made manifest in the Vision of John. The voice coming from the midst of the four beasts is the Word to which the creatures embody the Law of the Spirit (Re.6:6). The Law affirms the holiness of God and the voice coming from their midst is Power. It is to which the writer to the Hebrews alludes here. Upholding all things we can prove by the nature of the Law as well as of Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever. Space and Time with regard to the Law is nil. Thus we have the Law about the throne as a Memorial while the living creature is the executive arm of the Law. They are spirits, ministers of flaming fire. These angels are sent to the earth as evident from the seven eyes and seven horns that the Lamb wore." a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."(5:6)

The Psalmist refers to God as who 'performs all things for me. "I will cry unto God most high; Unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me From the reproach of him that would swallow me up." (Ps.57:2-3) We know that it was really the case. King Saul had the all the might, of him pomp and circumstance within the kingdom and his allies in the neighbouring environs who were beholden to him. But God prevailed over them all. Why? God had called him before the worlds began and set him after the likeness of his Son. The manner the Law upholds the word is delineated in the Ch.10 of the Book of Ezekiel. For every child of God who cries for help it is the same. The Law of the Spirit is no respecter of persons. As with David so with the Egyptian bonds-maid.

    Ro.2:14-15 "The Law"

"For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves."St Paul is here referring to the Law of Moses and the Gentiles have a pure conscience than a Jew who boast about the law but not do it. The heart of the Gentiles also is fashioned by God who tests their works. " Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness," have future but not for those who are self righteous. They deny the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering" and go on brazenly as the Pharisee in the Parable of Jesus. He shall leave as he came in while the penitent Publican leaves the place justified. "Not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?/But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God." (2:4-5)

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,/Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world."(Ti.2:11-12) God made all hearts alike and searches their hearts as well. The Law of the Spirit is Person specific so the Gentiles require the grace of God in order to make this connection where Jesus is the Way. In the manner God brought Apostle Peter and Cornelius together. Only when the Gentile sent for the Apostle it led to salvation for him and his house."And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God./Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee./Immediately therefore I sent to thee. The Holy Spirit works on a need to know basis. He forewarned Simon Peter at Joppa so predestination was according to the Law of the Spirit.

    Ez.3:10-11 "Grace of God" (2 of 2)

Before the Law all are equal/ yet we have heresies because of man who refuses to receive the truth. When God has fashioned all hearts alike, (Ps.33:15) do we not have false teachers making the heart synonymous with total depravity? Given the heresy of Limited Atonement is from the same heart one begins to understand that either the Law of the Spirit places the fulness of God in Jesus Christ or the nay sayers repudiate the Law altogether. For this reason predestination taught by Calvin is false. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose./For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren./Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." (Ro.8:28-30)

The Law of the Spirit is forever and forever. "Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined./Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him./He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people."(Ps.50:2-4

    Ez.3:10-11 "Grace of God" (1 of 2)

"And speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear."

Law is equal before all men. Nations would mean well but law of sin in man makes law and justice a mockery often. "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:/That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."(Ro.8:3-4). In the beginning which refers to God and the Word implies that Jesus Christ was present. (Ge.1:1; John 1:1) Jesus therefore could declare, "I am before Abraham was" The Law of the Spirit also implies grace of God was made manifest in the works of God set forth in the everlasting covenant, both divine Will and its operation,- "And it was so" is clearly set down. (Ge.1:9)

Holiness of God sets the Law equally accessible to man. It is also Person specific, considering the the third beast has the face of man. The Laws of nature derives from the Law and it gives an aspect of divine Providence in the manner His creation is provided for. "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them"(Matt.6:26) Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the Law. Thus grace of God is a manifestation of divine favour. "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men."(Ti.2:11). This is what Law of the Spirit has done, So when John says "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace./For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." ( John 1:17-18) we need look past Moses when the Word was God. God called all to salvation. Law of the Spirit is not to blame if man refuses it.The v.10 explains what the prophet has to do first:"(all my words) Receive in thine heart, 2) and Hear with thine ears.

Lord Jesus please help us concerning this constant strife, the abuse, the bondage, the addictions, the dysfunction, the mess we are in. We need you so much Lord. Have mercy. Asking again for extra strong protection and breakthrough for us and all in need. Please pour out your Spirit in a powerful way. Help us to live lives pleasing to you and be ready when you come. Please also help with the sermon. Thank you.

Thank you Gigi. Still upholding you and yours in my prayers. Thank you so much for yours. The prayer meeting was indeed blessed, albeit challenging. A brother from Nigeria whose dad (believer) was killed through witchcraft gave his testimony. He is also very much attacked by demons and we prayed for him. Right after (the next day) another explosion in my family. Praying for encouragement in this battle that has been raging for so many years now. I thank the Lord that He said that His power is made perfect in our weakness, because boy am I weak.

    Ez.3:11 "Hear or forbear"

"And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear."

In the inaugural vision of Ezekiel we have the same voice as was in the vision of John, "And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings." Here the living creatures obey the voice from the midst of the four beasts, and it is indicated by letting down their wings. They stood as the Memorial about the throne stand, "Holy, holy, holy,LordGod Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come" is the affirmation of the Word or the Law of the Spirit.

The Spirit gives the voice of the Lord God who rides upon a cherub or the four living creatures as one. (Ps.18:10; Is.66:15)The 'likeness of the glory of Lord' is seen and and heard by Ezekiel what we covered in Re.4 we have the four beasts worshipping God in the beauty of holiness. " Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."(Ps.29:2). This expression of 'likeness' and 'like unto the Son of man or Son of God" is Word- based so it always points to the Word made flesh-Jesus Christ. ("one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven,-Dan.7:13; Dan 3:25) It is in this context God addresses the prophet, 'Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee."(Ez.2:1). Ezekiel is 'after our likeness' referring to the Word made flesh. For this reason the Spirit supplies us with the action. "Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel./So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll." (3:1-2) This foreshadows why in the fulness of time God sent Jesus Christ to the world. The Man component in the covenant is made clear. (Ge.1:28). It also explain the expression 'the only begotten Son.'

    Re.4:11 "The will of God"

"For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

St Paul elaborates on the testimony of the 24 elders thus,"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell." In order to understand the Fellowship of God with Man we need consider the original model as placed about the throne in heaven. The four beasts worship, "and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come./And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,/The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever" These two bodies embody the Law of the Spirit, which is Word based while the elders as first-fruits of the Word give glory to Jesus Christ in whom all the fulness of God dwells.

Before promising the indwelling Spirit, Jesus introduced the quality of the Spirit."for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come./He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you." ( John 16:13-14) Jesus is the fulfilment of the Law.

"The Word was with God," and this is what the Spirit had visually presented. Th voice in the midst of the four beasts came from the throne: "And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say." This being the case the Psalmist must have some authority to say, "the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." (Ps.2:7). " I believed, therefore have I spoken" (Ps.116:10) That was faith in him speaking. So where shall we place David?" God created man after our image and after our likeness. So the Word made flesh is according to the Law of the Spirit. Whosoever has faith and works, the Law has revealed it as in the case of the Psalmist, is 'after our likeness'. Is it not?

Without faith it would be blasphemy.

    Hi Tdianne

    Just to add my opinion.

God has created mankind in order to live with them in absolute happiness for ever. But people sinned and moved away from Him. But God has a plan for people.

In this life God separates the wheat from the tare, the saints from the sinners. The ones who accept the salvation that He offers through Christ and the ones who do not. One may choose to be in one of these two sides. We can not choose whether we want to be born but we can choose where we want to spend our lives in eternity. This life can be seen as a test, a trial. The ones who accept Jesus as their savior and follow Him during their lives will be with Him in eternity. The rest will be going away from Him. Having this in mind one can organize their life. As said by others Ecclesiastes is a good book to read as well for such questions.
