If we the people of the Lord Jesus Christ. would have a heart like King David , quick to repent ,do God's work without complaining,or questioning . We to.could be bless like King David . The Bible says that David was after God's own HEART. Could we just for a moment think that for ourselves, our schools, our neighborhood, our cities, our nations. We wouldn't be so scared or worried to let our children go to school. Or go out for a drive with family,or just a walk to the store. Now in the condition of our country ,our World is in. We should remember the scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14 1) If my people, which is called by my name, humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways , than I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. So God's people if we know the scripture. It's talking to to the . people that attend Church ? Not just attend but live it , walk it, read it, breath it and Obey it. So Church let's not just say we are Christians, but live it,pray God please forgive.us of sins and Heal our Lands. In turn the sin of this Nation will be forgiven, our Nation will prosper again the pandemic will go away our children will be healed. Don't we want the U.S. to be respectful again. Our land to yield again mental health be healed. Amen May Jesus bless YOU .

Yes God loved David after his own heart and this chapter has so much in it concerning how God selected his elect people out of all the nations to do his work which they failed miserably at, bit God had mercy on them

God loved David because David was a child of God. He was one of the elect of God. God love all of His elect enough that He did send His only begotten son to die for them. No power of man or of hell can pluck any from his hand. He will not loose one of us. He is the good Shepard who has laid down His life for the sheep.

I think, that David being loved by GOD didn't really have anything to do with being in the blood line of CHRIST,I think it was like Christ,he loved father and Glorified him in 1Samuel15:22.Samuel said,"Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold,to obey is better than sacrifice,And to heed than the fat of rams.He glorified father, loved.

Emil; right;a degree is not needed, one does need the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of him. Or they will be as one not heeding Ephesians 4:14; Be no more tossed to and fro (led away to false teaching and lies, and forms of doctrine that do not teach the truth of His word) by those who lie in wait to deceive. Satan is not the only one who deceives. Sad thing is most don't know they are deceived.

This may seem like a very simple answer but that's the beauty of God, He made this thing so simple we don't need a degree to understand who God is. John 3:16 16 For God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God loved the world and that's why He sent His Son. He loved David in like manner

"God loved David, because Christ is of David's lineage." So, is this reason God loved David?

"...I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will:" sounds like great love to me! 1 Cor. 14:26 confirms that what one has by revelation, or by knowledge, or by wisdom, or by prophecy, or by interpretation; it is for our mutual benefit and encouragement: our judging of whether something is Scriptural, should be by the nature and Spirit of God.

I don't recall scripture that says this is why God loved David; "Truly God loved David because Christ was to be born of David's lineage." Peter A. O., Could you enlighten us with scripture? Do you think there were people throughout David's lineage that God did not love?
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 2 Samuel 7 - 7 years ago
Truly, God loves David and his lineage for the simple reason that it has been ordained from the beginning of time that Jesus will be God made man through the line of David. God, the great Master Planner Himself at work!

    V. 14 - I will chasten him with the rod of men. In this day people wonder why God allows wars; it's simply because of this verse - if he commit iniquity .......; even many 'church' people are committing iniquity, let alone un-churched. God allows wars, to hopefully get people to a place of repentance, but He doesn't cause them. Trials, persecutions for the same reason - repentance.

Rest strenghtens, makes us effectivess and effecient. The Lord gave David rest from all his enemies. It was at this time he decided to build house for God. Rest makes us think right and this enable us to do exploit for God. It also enable us to achieve our goals and aspiirations too. No wonder God said come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I {God} will give you rest. He is waiting for us this day to give us rest.
