    Joel 2:32 KJV

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

I haven't said or done anything or stopped anyone from entering in God's church or believing in Jesus to be saved!

    Hi Red Apple,

I love this verse. It is such a good benediction to use in so many circumstances. So glad God gave Paul this way to bless others. His own words for us to use to call God's favor upon those we love. I don't think we can say things better than God can!

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." 2 Peter 3:10 KJV

    Answer:

God said this can be sowed.

    RE: 2 Peter 3:5

Present day scoffers are willingly ignorant of literal 6 days creation written with the finger of God as stated in Exodus 20 and 31.

Specifically the creation and flood accounts in Genesis. Uniformitarianism, proclaimed by evolutionists, is anticipated and warned against. The flood account does not allow for millions of years but instead accounts for the evidence in nature.

    God Bless,

Hi. It is a good question about semi-false teaching. We Christians will be taken to Heaven while Israel has 1,000 years of peace. At the end, judgement will come to all people and the world will be destroyed, with human beings gone. (In fact, all animals will likely be removed). After this, we live on a new Earth with new heavens. Our final destination is a new Earth with a New Jerusalem that will be a paradise, in HIS presence. Should be quite amazing.
  • Archaeological digs at Bible Sites - In Reply on 2 Peter 3 - 2 years ago
I recently viewed a program with an archaeologist who has been hunting for remains of Sodom and Gomorrah. He's found artifacts, coins, etc. but he found no walls.

He was really at a loss to find the proof__until he waded out into the water nearby. He found bits of sulphur that had cooled when it hit the water. He searched the dry land and found melted sulphur in "disks" all over those 2 places; in varying sizes.

He's a believer in God. He said, it seemed that the cities were not just set on fire. They had sulphur fire poured on them. He figured how hot it would have to be to melt the sulphur. People in those cities died instantly.

He showed with his camera, possible remains. The landscape doesn't work with ancient maps. Residents in the area, say those ARE the sites of those 2 cities.

The man panned his camera all around sites of heaps that may have been walls. The melted sulphur was everywhere. Enough for everybody to carry a souvenir in their pockets. WOW!

Also, archaeologists cannot find the Garden of Eden. According to scripture locations of the 3 rivers in the current area; only one river is found. I think the Tigris.

We'll find out what happened one day__those who choose Jesus Christ as Savior, and make Heaven their permanent home.

The book of Revelation 22, scripture shows the Ark of the Covenant resides there. As does the Tree of Life.

Whatever is in the Temple in Israel, is not the original Ark of the Covenant.

I thought you'd be interested in these facts. As they say, Knowledge with evidence is powerful. The Ark will be brought back when the Lamb of God fights Antichrist's Army at Armageddon. We will be with Jesus.

I believe the Ark will be opened, and all of Antichrist's army will fall dead. There will be great rejoicing everywhere. The Antichrist, False Prophet, Beast will be delivered to hell. Satan will be chained for 1000 years.

    Hallelujah to our King!! Jesus!

2Pet. 3:10; the elements shall melt with fervent heat = These "elements" consist of the physical substances and materials of the universe from the largest building blocks to the smallest sub-atomic particles.

This expression proves more sinister than just describing intense heat that destroys. It also describes the elements breaking out into fiery heat similar to a spontaneous combustion.

Think of a person who suffers from an internal bodily fever, of which if left unchecked, untreated, and unabated, that sufferer will surely die.

Note, Apostle Peter did not identify the source of origin that results in this "fervent heat". From where, or from what does this heat generate? The description seems to suggest this heat builds up from an internal fever within the created physical elements which breaks out into a wild fire.

This is all very plausible, for GOD created all things consisting of molecules and atoms. Atoms constantly move, and their movement generates heat. The faster atoms move, the more intense the heat.

Such is the plan The LORD (v.9) has in store for the present heavens, elements, the earth, and all the works.

Dear "Fannie Cross-Sullivan", in peace. We learn it because we must have hope. Our hope is that Jesus Christ, who conquered death, we will also go there. Where Jesus are. We shall not see death.

If you imagine a person who is sick, for example, and is about to die. As we say here on earth. This person belive in Jesus Christ and has repented from a destructive life, to faith in Jesus Christ. If Iinow immediately give you a different picture of death, but then without God. Can you see the difference here? We humans are a detriment to ourselves, we have been from the very beginning. Now it has become worse.

So God the Father Himself had to change everything when He make Heaven and earth, because of man. Remember He repented of it. Genesis 6:6

The day you are referring to will be a terrible day, everyone should know what a fire can do.

This is how it is that we believe in God the Father and in His Son Jesus Christ, then our life will be filled with hope for Life itself. We shall live even if we lay down our mortal body. Matthew 24:35 The best example is found in John 20:1-10 and the story of Lazarus when Jesus raises Him from the dead after he had lain dead for several days. John 11

The day that will come when the firmament and the mountains will crumble. When God will put everything in order again, this time there will be no regrets, but Perfection. That is what Christ Jesus did. But as we know, everything takes time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Jesus does not wish us harm, He loved us with divine love. believe in Him for your own sake. Fear is cast out when you are with Jesus Christ. Only love will keep you alive that day. God's Word and faith in Jesus. Hebrew 4:12-13 But we stick to Jesus. He fills us with peace, so that we all survive the day. I belive that from the bottom of my heart.

Hope this help u, remember to always go to Jesus if u have a problem, He will sort everything out for u in His time, Amen. Jesus loves u i love u in Christ

If God is going to destroy the heaven and earth, and we get destroyed ,why are we being taught and preached to about going to heaven? Are we as Christians be saved for a new heaven and earth.and if I am here in the fire how am I getting to heaven ?

    Hi Charles,

My understanding is that the earth rotates on its axis producing the effect of day and night as a point on the earth will be facing the sun for day and not during the night as the earth rotates. The earth also orbits the sun. It takes a little more than 365 days for this orbit to be completed. We have a leap year every four years to account for the extra accumulated minutes over the four years.
  • Charles Robert Northup - In Reply on 2 Peter 3 - 2 years ago
I don't think it does, Matt 16:2He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

3And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times. Rev Talks about the moon be darken or maybe it's the sun'

The sun doesn't rotate around the earth at an exact 24 hrs that's why they have a leap year but who knows if it corrects it exactly or not so over time the season could change. I do remember something about the seasons tho maybe in Thessalonians 1 or 2

(BEGIN QUOTE) From got questions. orgs website:

This question is usually framed something like this: "Does the Bible say that in the last days, you will not be able to know the seasons except by the changing of the leaves?"

We had been asked this question many times and had done extensive research into its origin, but had never been able to find the source of the idea.

Recently, someone helped us find the origin of the concept. Evidently, it comes from the "3 Days of Darkness" prophecy of Padre Pio, a Roman Catholic priest. The exact quote appears to be, "You will know when that time is approaching because the seasons will change so the only way you will know the seasons is by the leaves on the trees." (END QUOTE)

I used to Believe that also until recently when I looked for it and could not find it in the Bible. I did find Genesis 8:22.

I think the scripture you're referring to is: (but it's not written that way). Matthew 24:32, in context: Matthew 24:3-51, Luke 21:29-30, in context: Luke 21:1-36, Mark 13:28, in context Mark 13, chapter.

    Hopefully this is helpful.

2Pet. 3:3; scoffers = Psalm 1:1 implies sinners progress in their ever-increasing depravity until they become scoffers in their final state.

Scoffers scornfully and maliciously mock GOD, HIS SON The LORD JESUS CHRIST, GOD's Word, GOD's people, and all GODly matters to bring disgrace and contempt. These have evolved in their lifestyles for so long, they no longer fear GOD.

Because JESUS CHRIST has not yet returned as promised, scoffers believe HE will not come again at all. The very existence of scoffers proves these are "the last days" (Jude v.18).

The reader could argue that these scoffers compose a more blatant and aggressive group than the more private "false teachers who privily shall bring in damnable heresies" ( 2Pet. 2:1). As followers and adherents of false teachers, these scoffers voice their ridicule more publicly.

These less than subtle scoffers are "walking after their own lusts" partly because they swallow the "cunningly devised fables" (1:16) and the "damnable heresies" (2:1) of the false teachers (2:1) and have become the "twofold more the child of hell" described by CHRIST ( Mt. 23:15). See also John 8:44, Acts 13:10, and 17:5.

Scoffers deride those who believe Scriptural prophecies regarding CHRIST's Second Coming by declaring that since CHRIST has not yet returned, that is proof HE will not return (v.4).

Their derisive question regarding "the promise" (v.4) voices their mockery of CHRIST WHO promised a Second Coming that HE cannot fulfill. Not only do scoffers mock the prophecies of the prophets, but they also mock CHRIST HIMSELF WHO prophesied of HIS own Second Coming ( Jn. 14:2, 28). Scoffers' denial of CHRIST's Second Coming will not hinder HIS Coming for "The LORD is not slack concerning HIS Promise" (v.9). See also verse ten where Peter emphasized, "But the Day of The LORD will come."

In the end, GOD will mock and laugh at the scoffers ( Ps. 2:4; 37:13; 59:8; Pro. 1:25-26).

In the Greek the word [stedfastness] is [sterigmos] which means; established, strong, fixed, solid. And you can fall from being solid in Jesus or the Word. Read 2 Peter 2: 15-22 where people who have known the way have turned and followed after Baal. Their condition is now worse than before.

have you ever rode a bike up a steep hill? Half way up you tire? That's when the work really begins. That's when the race is at its peak! That when the steadfastness comes , it starts when you ask yourself do you really believe. Do you believe that He has the power to help you across the finish line . Do you believe every word he has said to you? You can do all things through Christ who will strengthen you! Steadfastness is when u finish with him! While you wait once again for the next race!

    2 Peter v 17

Beware lest you be led away with the error of the wicked , fall from your steadfastness.

What is the error of the wicked ?

Any thing that teaches contrary to sound doctrine that The Apostles teach , found in the NT .

Peter is warning because he knows they will come after his departure .

And did they come , no unity at all in professing Christianity.

The solution get back to the Bible and stick with it . There are so many false doctrines you can pick your poison . May the Lord bless you as you prayerfully search the scriptures.

Here are some of God's words to remember: Romans 9:8 - "That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are NOT the children of God:" IE: Race/blood does not matter to God, only our hearts. The book of Romans is great to hear for this purpose! John 8:24 - "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for IF YE BELIEVE NOT THAT I(Jesus) AM HE, YE SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS." Our blood/race is not a "get out of hell free card". There is no such thing.

Surfing the net you shall find those who deny Paul as an apostle.

    2 Peter 3:15 - And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul (BELOVED BROTHER PAUL) also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

    2 Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;

in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

they must deny the book of acts also.

Oh, how I cherish God's promises. God does not count days like men. One day can be counted as a thousand years and a
thousand years as one day.Man can not do the Math that God has in store for us.My prayers are to live the best earthly life
that I can. I really try to live a good life like God told us. Jesus is coming like a Thief in the night and I want to be prepared
    and ready when Jesus comes.
