Richard, not only is Revelation a parable, it is also signified.
Revelation 15:8 And the TEMPLE (you) was filled with the smoke from the glory of God, and HIS POWER .....
John 2:19 Destroy this temple (Christ came as sinful flesh, that temple (sinful flesh) had to be destroyed) and in three days I will raise IT (the new TEMPLE)(the new BODY (dwelling place) OF CHRIST)(we, the body, were raise up with Christ as the new TEMPLE).
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and Holy is he that has his part in the first resurrection ....
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the TEMPLE OF GOD (filled with his glory and HIS POWER)......
Revelation 15:8 .......and no man was able to enter into the TEMPLE (the new BODY OF CHRIST) until the seven plaques of the seven angels be fulfilled.
The Father pour out, on Christ, those seven LAST plaques (the wrath of God).
Revelation 15:1 ....seven angels having the seven LAST plaques, which are the wrath of God.
Man CAN NOW enter into the TEMPLE (the Body of Christ), because the wrath of God that we deserved, was poured out on Christ.
We are that BODY OF CHRIST where GOD dwells and Christ sits at his right hand.
As far as I can ascertain; this was the last occurrence of the "glory cloud" in the holy place (v.11-14) recorded in O.T. times. Obviously, we have visions of Ezekiel; Daniel and Isaiah personally into heavenly places; and Revelation shows how the praise of the saints proceeds events in the seal and trumpet judgments. The bowl judgments; however have a similar spin; as no one can enter into the inner sanctuary in heaven until they are completed. ( Rev. 15:8).
The sobering fact is that after Solomon with few exceptions there were kings that were primarily evil; with a few exceptions. Because of Solomon's falling for foreign women; the sins of Molech where child sacrifice was performed repeatedly were done even by these wicked kings. There are a few exceptions where as in 2 Chronicles 34; Josiah burned the bones of the false priests as was prophesied earlier; as well as breaking down many idols and killing others that did such evil practices. Solomon was warned but allowed multiplying of silver and gold and horses to ensnare him in worldly glory ( Deut. 17:17). This verse mentions multiple wives along with that as well as being warned against. The manna mentioned in Exodus 16 as well as Aaron's rod in Numbers doesn't seem to be mentioned here; only the two tablets of God's covenant. I am not entirely sure the reasoning; and no one is sure exactly where the Ark is; although scripture hints that some day there will be no mention of it ( Jeremiah 3:16). This probably hints at the Millennial reign of Christ as to the blessings of multiplied natural descendants at that time.
This passage is much more than ironic but a perfect typology of the 2nd Chapter of Acts. None were asking for things but their soul purpose was to glorify God. Though it is not wrong to pray for healing, financial blessings, and other needs, when we focus on Glorifying God from the beginning, before going into the mode of asking, we are inviting the presence of God first and foremost. Let's stop being selfish with what we want and do what God wants, the praise and worship that He, and He alone is due. You will then find that God is more than willing to satisfy your needs.
Enter His courts with prayer requests? No, "Enter his courts with Praise and Thanksgiving," and "In all things give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you." "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me." This is the apex of drawing the presence of God where we may abide in. It becomes crucial for revival.
Hebrews 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant
10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt. What happened to the manna and Moses rod that budded?
i so appreciate the commentaries and disscussions of all, i have gleaned greater insight of understanding the symbols of smoke and clouds indicating His presence n glory. just as pertinent the discussions. May GOD continue to bless your ministry. i have been a belever and follower of Jesus 4 47yrs now. I have found the answers to what i been seeking over the years.
(As we see in this chapter); GOD show us HIS strong love /desire and willingness to be present with a nation or a person who will accept and obey HIM. WOW! WOW! WOW!.
