1These things haue I spoken vnto you, that yee should not be offended. 2They shall put you out of the Synagogues: yea, the time commeth, that whosoeuer killeth you, will thinke that hee doeth God seruice. 3And these things will they doe vnto you, because they haue not knowen the Father, nor me.

They were given beforehand lest they should stumble. To be forewarned would be a help to their faith amid the dark scenes of the next few days, and in the persecutions that would come later.
