Hi William. We would say it this way: 'royal seed'. 2 Kings 11:1 can be connected to 2 Kings 9:27, where King Jehu ordered the killing of King Ahaziah (Judah). So, when the mother of Ahaziah (Athaliah) "saw that her son was dead", she not only became incensed, but also sought to destroy every possible heir apparent to the throne. But she missed one heir, Joash. He was kept hidden for six years and later became King of Judah. But in the interim (for six years), the wicked mother, Athaliah, reigned over Judah.
To effect a change in the land, I must first change myself. Put away all sin and evil. (not easy) Then I must endeavor to walk in the newness of life.
Our country is going through a mighty social and political turmoil. We must purpose to put away evil and return to be the LORD'S people.
May we be faithful to your calling. We need your hand on our leadership Lord. They are going their own way and causing the land to perish thru the effects of the Covid pandemic, the collapse of our economy, and especially the Afghanistan situation.
God has willed that Jehoash will be king at age 7, the antics of Athaliah notwithstanding. She got what she deserved after ordering the killing of innocent people because of her ambition for her son to be king. The lesson for us is not to assume the place of God (play God). Let God's will be done all the time.

May the Lord bless all on this forum. August 2021
